Night had fallen.
In the bathroom, Jun Ye was taking a shower. Pythius lay on the bed, watching the faint silhouette behind the frosted glass door.
The room was well-insulated against sound, but Pythius had a kind of eavesdropping ability. He could hear the water in the bathroom. The sound of water cascading over Jun Ye’s body seemed to pour directly into Pythius’s heart, making him itch with anticipation.
He’d played out countless scenarios in his mind of what to do when Jun Ye emerged from the bathroom—how he’d start, what position to take, how far to go before switching to another position.
The plan was simple: to make the officer feel utterly amazing.

The bathroom door opened, and Jun Ye walked out, a towel wrapped around his waist, droplets of water still clinging to his hair. The steam drifted out behind him, and the warm light illuminated his tanned, muscular body, making him look delicious.
Pythius stared in a daze, his mouth going dry.
It wasn’t until Jun Ye glanced around the bedroom and started walking toward the living room that Pythius snapped out of it.
Watching Jun Ye bend to pick up a hairdryer from the small table in the living room, Pythius felt a twinge of regret. He had fantasized so much while listening to Jun Ye shower that he’d forgotten to act. He should have gone over, full of charm, pulled Jun Ye into his arms, and tasted those lips. How could he have been so mesmerized that he’d just sat there?
Pathetic. If he weren’t so reluctant to harm himself, he would have smacked himself awake.
Jun Ye plugged in the hairdryer, then paused, bending to pick up a pair of slippers that had been left by the door.
Pythius forced an embarrassed smile. He had been so lost in his daydreams that he hadn’t noticed kicking his shoes away.
“Sit here, officer. Let me find a comfortable temperature for you,” Pythius said, inviting Jun Ye to sit on the edge of the bed. He took the towel from Jun Ye’s hand and draped it over his shoulders.
Pythius held his hands above Jun Ye’s head, carefully controlling his powers, but his gaze couldn’t help but drift over Jun Ye’s muscular body.
Pythius swallowed, feeling thirsty.
Now he understood why Jun Ye said he’d met plenty of men who claimed to be tops but ended up spreading their legs for him. Who wouldn’t want to feel the strength and power of that body?
Pythius couldn’t stop thinking about how it felt when Jun Ye had taken charge, the heat and intensity of it all… he wanted more.
But he had promised Jun Ye he’d be the top this time. Jun Ye was strictly a bottom and didn’t like things going the other way. He didn’t want to make things difficult for Jun Ye again.
But, oh, how he loved that feeling… strong, fierce…
Jun Ye noticed the heat building on his head. He could even smell something burning.
Jun Ye quickly turned and grabbed Pythius’s hands, his suspicious gaze landing on Pythius’s flushed cheeks. With a sigh, he asked, “What are you always thinking about?”
Pythius had nearly burned his hair, lost in some fantasy while using his powers.
Pythius noticed the slightly singed strand of hair on Jun Ye’s head and quickly lowered his head, feeling both guilty and embarrassed.
He wanted to pamper his boyfriend, not give him a new hairstyle. And worse, he’d been distracted thinking about how good it felt to be the one bottoming… that definitely couldn’t be admitted out loud.
“I was just thinking about you. Can I… now?” Pythius leaned in, wrapping his arms around Jun Ye and peppering kisses along his face, while his fingers gently smoothed over Jun Ye’s head, fixing the slightly curled strand of hair.
Jun Ye thought for a moment, then shook his head. “No, your stamina is too poor. Once a day is enough.” He could last for one round, but his partner could finish several times in the span of his one. He worried that pushing it further would land Pythius in the hospital.
Pythius blinked in surprise. “But you were the one doing it earlier. Does that still count?”
Once a day—did that mean only when he was on top? Did it not count when Jun Ye was in control?
“What do you mean it doesn’t count?” Jun Ye frowned, giving Pythius a light slap on the back. “Stop overthinking. Just get some sleep.”
Reluctantly, Pythius released Jun Ye and watched as he turned off the lights and climbed into bed. Unable to help himself, he asked, “I’m not as weak as you think. One more time wouldn’t hurt. It’s still early… How am I supposed to sleep like this?”
Jun Ye pulled Pythius into his arms, letting him cling to him as they lay down together, covered by the blanket.
“I’m full of energy. I’m burning up. I can’t sleep!” Pythius clung to Jun Ye, refusing to let go.
Jun Ye allowed him to hold on, saying only, “If we do it, there’s no way you’d only go once. Better save your energy for next time so you can really enjoy yourself.”
“???” Pythius stared at him, wide-eyed.
Did this mean… did Jun Ye want him to do it many times in one go?
Pythius, feeling both shy and excited, pressed his burning face against Jun Ye’s chest and murmured softly, “I’ll make sure I’m full of energy. I’ll give you the best experience.”
Jun Ye’s hand paused on Pythius’s back. After a moment, he said, “Actually, I’m not…” a bottom.
Actually, I don’t enjoy being the top. I just like being the one on the receiving end. If there’s no… penetration, I just don’t feel it.
The system panel displayed green text.
Jun Ye: “…”
What the hell?! If you’re so good at delivering lines, why not go write a script?!
“Hmm?” Pythius looked up and asked, “What are you not?”
Jun Ye closed his eyes, but even like this, he could still “see” the system panel.
No, he couldn’t say something so shameless in front of his partner.
Jun Ye patted Pythius’s back and said, “You go ahead and sleep. I need to use the bathroom.”
He released Pythius and got up.
Click—
Jun Ye closed the door behind him, turned on the faucet, and used the sound of running water to mask his voice. He whispered the words from the system panel.
Outside, Pythius was eavesdropping with his powers: “?!”
Oh! So the officer was secretly so shy! He only expressed his true feelings quietly to himself.
Pythius was so charmed by his boyfriend that he rolled around on the bed, but soon he stopped, feeling a twinge in his nose.
Jun Ye wanted to be topped so much, yet Pythius had to build up his stamina and couldn’t satisfy him right away.
Those fake tops were despicable, forcing Jun Ye to do things their way when all he wanted was to be the bottom.
Pythius buried his face in the blankets, pushing away any thoughts of occasionally switching roles with Jun Ye in the future. Even if it felt great to be topped by Jun Ye, he couldn’t get addicted to it.
He would be a pure top for his boyfriend!
When Jun Ye came out of the bathroom, he noticed a strange determination in Pythius’s eyes.
Surely, his partner hadn’t gotten any weird ideas… right?

Bzz—Bzz—
Incoming call: Bai Mao.
“Hello?”
“Boss! The secret of the underwater realm in H City has leaked. Now a lot of level three and four mages and superpowered individuals are entering the city. The H City Management Committee is requesting assistance from the municipal law enforcement teams of nearby cities.”
Jun Ye kept his eyes closed, letting his mind wake up.
Law enforcement was his job, it always had been, and Jun Ye took his duties very seriously. As long as he hadn’t resigned, he wouldn’t shirk his responsibilities.
Jun Ye ran through what Bai Mao had said in his mind, then opened his eyes to look out the window. The night outside was pitch-black.
Jun Ye asked, “When do we leave?”
As a member of the cultivator group, Bai Mao was full of energy, his voice brimming with excitement. “2 AM at the law enforcement building. Sister Chu and the spatial ability user from H City will set up a spatial teleportation portal together!”
Spatial teleportation! He’d only ever seen it in movies and anime, and now he’d get to experience it firsthand. How could he not be excited?
“Okay.” Jun Ye wasn’t particularly interested in spatial teleportation. Back when he was a major general for the Zerg race, interstellar travel across multiple galaxies was just a routine way of getting around.
He hung up the phone and glanced at the time: 1:12 AM. It would take about twenty minutes to drive from his apartment to the law enforcement building.
Jun Ye patted Pythius, who had been nuzzling his neck ever since the phone rang. “I need to head out soon. You can sleep a bit more.”
“Mmm…” Pythius grumbled, displeased. He felt like with a little more rest, he’d be able to give Jun Ye an unforgettable bottoming experience by tonight.
But now Jun Ye was going to some secret realm, and it was in the ocean.
Any other location, and Pythius would have insisted on tagging along, but the ocean, the ocean…
Pythius snuggled closer to Jun Ye, rubbing against him. Jun Ye let him act out his frustration.
Pythius was worried about arousing himself and wasting the energy he had painstakingly saved up, so he stopped. “I want to go with you. I can transform into something you can wear—a shirt, pants… anything.”
Even though he knew Pythius’s abilities were varied and strange, Jun Ye was still shocked. His transformation wasn’t limited to people or animals? It could include inanimate objects like clothes?
Seeing Jun Ye remain silent, Pythius worried that Jun Ye didn’t trust him. He quickly said, “I’m not trying to spy or anything. I could be your jacket, and if you need to have any important discussions, just take me off and put me somewhere else.”
“See, if I’m your jacket, I can regulate your temperature if you’re hot or cold. And if someone attacks you, I can shield you. I’d be really useful.”
Pythius hesitated, then added softly, “If you have to go into the ocean, could you take me off first? If I get soaked in seawater, I’ll revert to my original form, and I won’t be much use.”
Jun Ye: “… I won’t let you turn into a jacket.”
Just the thought of walking around and possibly brushing up against things, with every touch hurting Pythius, made him uncomfortable. Or if he had to take off the jacket and leave it somewhere he couldn’t see… that was unacceptable. Not to mention during a fight, if attacks hit Pythius instead of him…
If something like that happened, Jun Ye figured he might lose control and end up exchanging a combat mech from the system store.
“I… I want to go with you.” With so many powered individuals around, what if Jun Ye got hurt?
Pythius remembered casting an illusion on Jun Ye before, leaving him unconscious for two hours, mentally tormented by the illusion.
At the time, Pythius hadn’t thought much of it, but now just the thought of it made his heart ache. He wished he could go back and replace that illusion with a shower of flowers perfect for a confession.
Now, even the thought of Jun Ye’s past injuries made him uncomfortable, let alone letting anyone hurt him again.
Jun Ye had no idea Pythius was thinking about all this. He just said, “Don’t turn into a jacket, become my service pistol instead. I’ll have you with me at all times.”
Pythius’s eyes lit up. “Is your service pistol usually in your pants pocket?”
Aww, they’re both cute. Pythius is a h*rn dog but still cute
