CATSR Chapter 88

[ABO]Omega Gong 31

After lingering in bed for another two hours, Jun Ye was woken up by his biological clock. As soon as he opened his eyes, he noticed Fei Xiu gazing at him with gentle eyes, his shallow brown eyes reflecting Jun Ye’s face.

Jun Ye instinctively touched his face. It was smooth and flawless. He asked, “Is my face becoming more and more enchanting?”

“Hmm?” Fei Xiu was stunned for a moment. He didn’t feel embarrassed about being caught staring but was unsure if the Omega’s use of “enchanting” was a compliment.

Was this a trick question or a minefield?

Fei Xiu thought it over and decided to go with the standard Alpha-approved answer: “Very beautiful, very charming.”

That was indeed his heartfelt sentiment. His Omega was incredibly beautiful, the most stunning in the world, and Fei Xiu couldn’t take his eyes off him.

Fei Xiu felt the urge to hug the Omega and kiss him, but he restrained himself because he hadn’t brushed his teeth yet.

Jun Ye, looking at him with eyes filled with years of romantic filter, usually didn’t take such compliments about his appearance seriously. But this time was different. He truly felt his face had become excessively good-looking.

When he first arrived in this world, his appearance was just above average, at most a handsome guy, with a less than 20% chance of getting a second glance on the street.

Now, he was almost like a different person, with a near 100% turn-around rate wherever he went, and there were constant rumors about him sucking people’s vitality, staying forever young, being some kind of demon or ghost.

Could it be that his system was really a strategy type? Could he use points or goodwill to get a makeover, and it happened automatically without his instructions?

Jun Ye frowned slightly. This guess, though absurd, seemed the closest to the truth given the lack of other explanations.

This hadn’t happened in other worlds. The main difference here was that he knew the system could calculate points. He had found and exploited a loophole in the system’s scoring, keeping his score positive.

The system hadn’t shown its presence for a long time. With his partner’s thick love filter, even if he had a makeover, it wouldn’t make much of a difference.

Fei Xiu saw Jun Ye frowning and silent, his heart sinking. Was this really a trick question?

Jun Ye quickly let it go and told Fei Xiu to get up, get dressed, and wash up.

Fei Xiu was puzzled: “???”

The Omega didn’t coldly snort or throw a fit. He was safe?

After breakfast, Jun Ye took Fei Xiu onto a flying vehicle.

Fei Xiu thought the Omega was taking him to a civilian mecha center, but after a few minutes, he realized something was off.

“This is the direction to the New Technology Development Zone?” Fei Xiu asked in confusion.

The Fei family had once owned a top pharmaceutical research company in the Alliance. Though the company had become part of his “inheritance” and was now under the Omega’s name, Fei Xiu was still familiar with this special area of the main star. Not every company could secure a piece of land here.

Jun Ye nodded, opened the terminal screen, and started giving instructions to the management personnel to prepare a mecha.

Fei Xiu didn’t ask further, just sat and waited for the answer to reveal itself.

Since handing over those assets to the Omega, he hadn’t inquired further. The Omega rarely talked about these things. He only occasionally got bits and pieces of news, suggesting that the business was doing well. Otherwise, the Omega wouldn’t be flying around in high-end vehicles like they were seasonal items.

Seasonal flying vehicles! He had never been that extravagant.

The flying vehicle slowed down, and Fei Xiu looked out the window.

Outside was a very high-tech building with a pure white exterior made of unknown materials. On the exterior wall were large letters: Lindsay Mecha Research Center.

This was a very trendy mecha brand, reputed to have a mecha research genius. Ten years ago, “Lindsay” had stormed into the Alliance mecha market, reaching the top in its first year.

Recently at the academy, Fei Xiu had often heard his classmates talking about this brand. Its mecha performance was undeniably ahead of others, but why had the Omega brought him here?

Was he planning to buy a mecha?

Fei Xiu shuddered at the thought. Not because they couldn’t afford it, but because the Alliance had strict controls on mechas. In non-war times, even an Alliance general couldn’t take a mecha outside the training grounds.

Buying a mecha meant you couldn’t just play with it. You’d need a training ground, hire people for maintenance, and deal with numerous government procedures and inspections.

It was incredibly troublesome.

The flying vehicle landed.

“Jun, are you buying a mecha?” Fei Xiu asked as the door opened, unable to hold back his curiosity.

“Hmm? No, I’m not buying one,” Jun Ye replied as he stepped out, looking back at him. “But if you want one, I can make one for you.”

Fei Xiu blinked. “…Do you mean having ‘Lindsay’ design and make one to your specifications?” That must be it, right? Surely, the Omega wouldn’t be making it himself.

Jun Ye nodded, “Something like that. Tell me what kind of mecha you want, and as long as it’s not too fantastical, I can make it happen.”

No, your words are already fantastical.

Fei Xiu kept his smile. “Let me see the mechas first.”

His smile faltered as he realized they were in a private landing area connected to an office, surrounded by a grove of ancient plum trees, not a public docking area as he had thought.

As Fei Xiu took in the surroundings, Jun Ye had already opened the sliding door integrated with the floor-to-ceiling window and called back, “Come on in.”

Fei Xiu followed, his emotions in turmoil.

The Omega clearly knew the owner of this office well enough to share access—someone very close and trusted.

Fei Xiu walked quickly to Jun Ye’s side, his instincts making him declare his ownership of the Omega.

The office had a minimalist design, almost devoid of personal items. The owner must be very reserved.

Fei Xiu’s eyes caught something on the desk. He walked over and picked up a light blue silk ribbon. It was the Omega’s neck collar.

There was a suspicious stain on it.

Fei Xiu’s mind went blank, his imagination running wild with a faceless man removing the Omega’s neck guard collar and the two of them getting intimate on the desk, the Alpha’s teeth biting into the Omega’s gland…

No, that couldn’t be.

Knowing the Omega’s character, if he had an affair, he would either hide it perfectly or flaunt it openly, not leaving evidence like this.

“What’s wrong?” Jun Ye came over and saw the collar in Fei Xiu’s hand.

Understanding the significance of the neck collar in this world and seeing Fei Xiu’s troubled expression, Jun Ye quickly explained, “Last time I was here for mecha maintenance, it got some oil on it, so I changed it and forgot to take it with me when I left.”

Fei Xiu came to his senses, noticing the stain’s color was wrong, and sighed in relief. Still, he confirmed with Jun Ye, “No Alpha?”

“Does my assistant count?” Jun Ye shook his head firmly. “No!”

Fei Xiu’s expression improved. He put the Omega’s neck guard in his pocket, warning, “If you don’t need it anymore, throw it away or destroy it. Don’t leave it in someone else’s place.”

“Relax, this is my office. No one comes in except the cleaning robots,” Jun Ye reassured him, pulling Fei Xiu’s hand to comfort him, worried he might imagine a cheating scenario.

“…Your office?” Fei Xiu thought back to his judgment of the office owner as cold.

Jun Ye nodded, adding, “I’ve been busy with fitness and then by being served by the butler. In the future, I’ll be busy picking up and dropping off Xiao Xiu for school, so I rarely come here. Most of the work is done remotely.”

The Alliance advocated for light office work, and someone in Jun Ye’s high position wouldn’t waste time in a company office. But Fei Xiu, softened by Jun Ye’s changed story, almost slipped into a lovestruck state.

With the last bit of clarity, he asked, “What is your position in this company? Why do you need to maintain mechas?”

The Omega should only invest, right? Being a small employee despite being wealthy would be suspicious.

Jun Ye thought for a moment, “I don’t have a fixed position. My subordinates are all unreliable, so I go where I’m needed. Maintaining mechas doesn’t require my personal attention, but I’m used to caring for my own. Want to see my mecha?”

“Sure.” The Omega had laid out the path; Fei Xiu could only follow.

Even now, he assumed the Omega must like mechas and had invested in “Lindsay” Mecha Company.

Jun Ye took Fei Xiu through a private passage, directly from the office to the underground mecha training ground.

The training ground was filled with mechas of varying heights, from a few meters to dozens of meters. Employees in black and white uniforms were busy among them.

As they approached, loud roars reached their ears.

A middle-aged man with sparse hair held a new type of mecha communication device but was resorting to the most primitive “shouting communication.”

“I just told you to line up the mechas according to type! How long has it been?! Can’t you even line up?!”

“H17! Where are you standing?! Do you think you’re a combat mecha just because you’re in disguise?! Get back to your logistics area!”

The middle-aged man almost screamed his voice out, and Fei Xiu saw one of the towering, fierce-looking mechas move.

It stepped out of the line of “comrades,” with all its joints moving sequentially, and eventually transformed into a transport vehicle.

Fei Xiu was astonished. That had clearly been a humanoid combat mecha just now, yet in a few seconds, it turned into a transport vehicle indistinguishable from the ones outside the main star. Had “Lindsay’s” mecha technology advanced this much?

“Like that?” Jun Ye asked. “I can still make you a mecha like I said.”

“But… I’m not in logistics.” Fei Xiu looked at the transformed transport vehicle at the outer edge, feeling its sense of unfulfilled potential.

Jun Ye replied, “It’s not just logistics…”

His words were cut off as a black-and-white flying vehicle shot out from a passage, stopping with a beautiful drift in front of them.

Fei Xiu was surprised to see the pilotless flying vehicle; it was the Omega’s vehicle, which he had noted the code for. The Omega had been beside him the whole time, definitely not controlling the vehicle remotely. Why did it come on its own?

Then, Fei Xiu witnessed the reverse transformation from transport to humanoid mecha. The Omega’s flying vehicle turned into a three-meter-tall humanoid mecha.

The humanoid mecha held a branch, and with the sound of metal joints moving, it knelt on one knee, offering the branch.

Fei Xiu quickly turned to look at Jun Ye.

Jun Ye walked forward, inspecting it up close.

Jun Ye’s gaze fell on a nearly falling red petal at the branch’s tip. “This is from the plum tree outside my office.”

“Yes, sir,” the mecha’s eyes flashed blue, its unique electronic voice sounding. “The ancient red plum has become a new favorite in the flower arrangement world. I thought you two might like it.”

“Heh,” Jun Ye said, leading Fei Xiu to the training ground’s center. “Ignore him. That guy’s intelligent chip is still being debugged, just a semi-finished product.”

Fei Xiu remarked, “It mentioned flower arranging…”

Jun Ye said, “I’ll delete that part of its data. Now, let me show you some finished products from the Transformer series.”

“Transformers?”

“Is there a problem?” Jun Ye was sure this world didn’t have that movie.

Jun Ye sure was girlbossing hard while Fei Xiu was busy flirting with him lmao (Also, Lindsay is the same as the family name of our very first ML Joshua in which Jun Ye was a zerg general :’)))))))
