DIGAOT Chapter 12

Apologizing Effectively

When Su Yun finally woke up, Lu Yuan was no longer by his side.

Su Yun was still wrapped in the alpha’s blanket, his body inevitably carrying traces of the alpha’s pheromones.

The sweet scent of oranges soaked into Su Yun’s very bones.

Everything felt like it was spiraling out of control.

Yet strangely, Su Yun didn’t feel the slightest bit of aversion.

He sat in a daze for a while before getting out of bed to freshen up.

Standing at the sink, he looked around for his travel-sized toothpaste but couldn’t find it. Instead, there was an unopened tube with a note attached to it in the alpha’s handwriting.

The note explained that President Lu had “accidentally” knocked over Su Yun’s toothpaste during his own routine and, despite searching for a long time, couldn’t find it. He hoped Su Yun would use the new one as a temporary replacement.

Su Yun felt a bit puzzled but didn’t think much of it and opened the new tube.

However, as he brushed his teeth, he couldn’t shake the feeling that the toothpaste tasted oddly familiar.

After finishing his morning routine, Su Yun returned to the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed, noticing the bite guard on the nightstand.

The bite guard had been removed and placed there by the alpha. Su Yun reached out and tapped it with his finger, the metal clasp making a clear “ding” as it clinked.

“You’re awake?” Lu Yuan appeared at the door, having heard the movement in the bedroom.

“Mm,” Su Yun responded, then hesitated before asking, “Are you feeling better?”

“Much better.” Lu Yuan, holding a cup of warm water, walked closer to Su Yun.

The alpha still had the red marks on his nose from wearing the bite guard, and the area near his ears bore the imprint of the metal clasp.

Su Yun felt his face heat up under the alpha’s gaze. His eyes wandered, landing on the blanket at the foot of the bed.

Su Yun: ???

He distinctly remembered that he didn’t usually kick off his blanket.

Su Yun: “Did I kick off the blanket last night?”

Su Yun: “That’s strange; I don’t normally do that.”

“Huh?—Cough, cough, cough!” President Lu followed Su Yun’s gaze, seeing the blanket lying forlornly in the corner.

President Lu suddenly recalled his smooth kick from the previous night.

Fortunately, President Lu had a solid foundation in theoretical learning.

The “study materials” in the group files had emphasized that there was nothing a kiss couldn’t solve. If one kiss didn’t work, then a thirty-minute kiss should do the trick.

So, while Su Yun was still pondering, a quick peck landed on the corner of his lips. Before he could react, Lu Yuan kissed him again. What started as a brief touch quickly deepened. When Su Yun’s breath became uneven and his lips parted slightly, the alpha seized the opportunity to explore further.

The kiss was flavored with a familiar taste of lemon.

Su Yun suddenly remembered why the toothpaste had seemed so familiar earlier.

It was because the last time Lu Yuan had kissed him, it had also tasted like lemon, which meant the toothpaste he used was likely the same as the alpha’s.

Was it really just a coincidence? Or had the toothpaste been “accidentally” lost? The thought flitted through Su Yun’s mind, but he quickly lost focus as the alpha’s kiss intensified, his fingers gripping the back of Su Yun’s neck, preventing any retreat.

Su Yun lost track of how long the kiss lasted. By the time it ended, his face was flushed, the redness spreading to his neck, and even his eyes were tinged with moisture. His eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings, and he let out a soft “mmph” before the sound was swallowed up by the kiss.

“Wife, I’m sorry.” Only when Su Yun was weak and pliant in his arms did President Lu finally apologize politely.

Lu Yuan admitted, “Wife, I was the one who kicked the blanket to the floor.”

He explained, “But… I had a reason. You don’t know, but last night you fell asleep holding onto the blanket.”

Lu Yuan continued to grumble, “You hugged it for exactly thirty-seven minutes, which, when rounded up, is an hour.”

President Lu calculated in his head and then, feeling justified, added, “How many hours are there in a night anyway?”

“I felt terrible, so I made a mistake—”

Su Yun couldn’t help but interject, “Made the mistake that most alphas would make?”

Lu Yuan: …

Su Yun: …

President Lu: “I’m not like that, I didn’t, and I’m sticking to the Alpha Code, don’t twist my words!”

After a moment to collect his thoughts, he continued, “Wife, I’ll wash the blanket right away, so please don’t be mad at me, okay?”

Su Yun’s face flushed even more; how could he stay mad? The Omega didn’t even know where to put his hands, his lips still tingling with the faint taste of lemon, and the alpha’s pheromones wrapping tightly around him.

Lu Yuan called out to him, “Baby.”

Still holding his hand, Lu Yuan asked again, “Please don’t be mad, okay?”
