Yan Yibing unhooked the boxing gloves with his index finger and held them in his arms, feeling their texture.
The feel was good, and there was still a hint of the unique scent of newly opened gloves on the leather.
He slid his palm into the gloves, clenched his fist and lightly tapped on the door, producing a dull thud. He felt no discomfort in his fingers.
Truly a brand he liked.
Yan Yibing took off the gloves and glanced at Han Mo’s closed door.
The door was tightly closed, but the small light on the door was green, indicating that there was someone inside.
He couldn’t help but smile, then walked to Han Mo’s door, holding the gloves, and knocked twice.
After half a minute, there was some movement inside, and the door opened.
Han Mo’s hair was a bit messy, the computer on the room desk was on, and the computer screen emitted a faint blue light.
When Han Mo saw Yan Yibing upon opening the door, his lips tightened, his fingers gripping the door frame, and his gaze somewhat evasive.
Yan Yibing lazily leaned against the wall, his thumb brushing over the boxing gloves in his hand, and asked Han Mo, “Did you send these to me?”
Han Mo’s nervous Adam’s apple rolled, his eyelids drooped slightly, then nodded, whispering, “Are you still angry?”
Yan Yibing immediately thought of what happened at noon.
It seemed like he angrily rushed into the bathroom and told Han Mo to mind his own business.
It turned out Han Mo thought he was angry, so he won back the boxing gloves to appease him.
Yan Yibing was somewhat surprised. He just casually mentioned it when passing by the activity room, and Han Mo actually knew he liked this prize. And then, he really managed to win it.
Yan Yibing pursed his lips, his gaze scanning Han Mo from top to bottom, scrutinizing him carefully, and then said lightly, “I’m not really angry with you.”
He spoke the truth.
Even though Han Mo’s mood was a bit inexplicable, and holding onto Liang Hefeng seemed a bit excessive, Yan Yibing didn’t think it was worth getting angry over Han Mo’s actions.
“When did Han Shen learn to play darts?” Yan Yibing asked.
Han Mo didn’t want to bring up his past where he couldn’t make it to the top, so he whispered, “The people playing tonight were all too clumsy; I was just lucky.”
“Oh,” Yan Yibing nodded thoughtfully, not exposing him.
Lucky enough to hit the bullseye every time, this kind of luck was better spent on buying a lottery ticket.
Han Mo had no idea that Yan Yibing had watched the entire match.
Yan Yibing took a deep breath, his gaze falling on the gloves as he murmured, “Cleto Reyes gloves cost $200 a pair, not exactly cheap.”
Han Mo frowned, thinking that Yan Yibing didn’t want them, and he was about to speak.
Yan Yibing slowly said, “So, I accepted them because I really like them. Thank you.”
Han Mo closed his mouth.
Yan Yibing happily took the gloves back to his room, stashed them in his suitcase, then closed the door and returned to Han Mo’s door.
“Have you eaten? I just finished watching the musical and haven’t eaten yet.”
Han Mo raised an eyebrow.
He remembered that Yan Yibing had left with the rest of the team, but with plenty of time for dinner, where did Yan Yibing go?
“I haven’t eaten either, not very hungry,” Han Mo replied.
Yan Yibing looked up and, through the gap in Han Mo’s shoulder, glanced into his room. “What are you doing?”
Han Mo made way for him and whispered, “Nothing to do, just watching a match.”
Without any objection, Yan Yibing stepped in, his gaze landing on Han Mo’s computer screen.
The game screen was already paused, but with a quick glance, Yan Yibing noticed it was this year’s PUBG competition in the South Korean region.
They would be facing these players in the East Asia Championship.
Han Mo was researching the opponents in advance.
A bit too diligent, considering it was still vacation time.
Yan Yibing didn’t sit in the chair; instead, he crouched down, hands resting on the tabletop, the lines of his back appearing particularly clear.
He asked, “How does it look?”
Han Mo calmly responded, “Not bad.” After a moment, he changed his description, “Very strong.”
“Hmm.” Yan Yibing nodded.
The Korean teams had always been formidable opponents.
Yan Yibing casually closed Han Mo’s computer and softly said, “We can win.”
Han Mo instinctively clenched his fist.
Yan Yibing just said… we.
In their two-year-long competitive gaming career as rivals, this was almost unthinkable.
But because of the East Asia Championship, this was about to become a reality.
They both knew that among the four Chinese players selected for the East Asia Championship, they would definitely be included.
But hearing these words from Yan Yibing, talking about fighting side by side, meant something extraordinary to Han Mo.
A slight bitterness welled up in Han Mo’s chest. After a brief pause, he nodded gently.
Yan Yibing lazily straightened his body, rubbed his waist, and said, “Stop working so hard, come and eat something with me, it’s just the two of us who haven’t eaten.”
Han Mo had long forgotten about analyzing the opponents; when Yan Yibing mentioned it, he also felt a bit hungry.
He grabbed his coat casually and said, “Alright.”
Before leaving, Yan Yibing casually scanned Han Mo’s room, a bit puzzled, “Why isn’t the cleaning staff tidying up your room? That’s not like them.”
His room’s blankets were neatly arranged, but in Han Mo’s room, it was still as messy as last night.
Last night, he had slept in this bed.
Han Mo casually replied, “I’ll talk to them tomorrow; it’s too late today, forget it.”
Yan Yibing shrugged, not paying much attention.
It was already 10 p.m., and only the buffet restaurant was still open.
When they arrived at the restaurant, there were only fruits, pizza, and a few hamburgers.
The pizza was freshly baked, with boxes of chili and tomato sauce on the side.
The chefs making the pizza were all Italian, ensuring an authentic taste.
Han Mo and Yan Yibing each took two slices of pizza. Han Mo squeezed some tomato sauce on his, while Yan Yibing added a dash of chili flakes.
Next to the fruit counter was an endless supply of milk.
Yan Yibing raised his chin, “Want to grab two cups of milk?”
Han Mo put down his pizza and asked, “Do you want chocolate-flavored or strawberry-flavored?”
There were only these two flavors of milk, without the oat flavor that Yan Yibing liked.
“Strawberry.”
“Okay.”
Han Mo got a cup of chocolate-flavored milk for himself and a strawberry-flavored one for Yan Yibing.
Yan Yibing tore open the packaging, tilted his neck, and took two or three big sips.
He was really thirsty.
The fragrance of strawberries mixed with the milk quickly spread in the confined space, and Han Mo also caught a whiff of the scent.
Lowering his head, he silently bit into his pizza, catching a glimpse of Yan Yibing licking his lips contentedly.
His tongue was tinged red, and his lips were touched with a light pink from the strawberry milk.
Suddenly, he didn’t feel like drinking his chocolate milk.
Why was the strawberry flavor so enticing?
After finishing two slices of pizza and having something in their stomachs, Yan Yibing checked the time.
It was already eleven o’clock.
But according to their routine, it was still early for bedtime.
Tomorrow’s destination was a beer festival on Bear Mountain, where they could freely taste various types of beer. So, tonight, everyone tacitly decided not to arrange a drinking session.
Yan Yibing wiped his mouth, “The kids are probably sleeping now. How about going to the game room to play Xbox?”
The TV screen in the cruise ship’s room was too small, and it wasn’t as enjoyable to play. The game room had a large screen and was open twenty-four hours a day. During the day, it was bustling with people engaged in intense gaming, but at night, it was sparsely populated.
Adults could take advantage of this quiet time to indulge in a few rounds.
Han Mo felt a bit embarrassed, “I’ve never played before.”
Despite being an esports player, he had never touched game consoles like PSP, Xbox One, or Switch.
His life was quite monotonous. Games were both his dream and his job, and he didn’t want to divert his focus.
Yan Yibing clicked his tongue, implying something, “Captain Han finally has something he can’t play.”
Han Mo nodded, “A lot of things.” Yan Yibing comforted him, “No problem, it’s straightforward. I’ll teach you.”
When the words “I’ll teach you” came out, both of them felt a bit nostalgic.
Back then, Yan Yibing also had a lazy appearance, lips curled, almond-shaped eyes slightly narrowed, fingers resting on Han Mo’s shoulder. “I’ll teach you how to play PUBG; I’m really good at it.”
Han Mo accidentally bit his tongue, feeling a stinging sensation.
His voice was slightly hoarse, “Okay.”
The two walked along the stairs towards the tenth floor.
With fewer people at night, outside the window was still a dense black night. The waves rolled, the night was quiet, and the cruise ship continued to sail to the next destination.
When they reached the entrance of the game room, there was no sound of gaming inside, brightening Yan Yibing’s eyes.
Just as they were about to push the door open, four people came running frantically from not far away.
“Quick, quick, we were here first, we just went back to get a shirt!”
The fastest runner shouted to Yan Yibing and Han Mo.
Yan Yibing glanced at them, figuring they were seizing the opportunity to play some games.
He calmly said, “There are two screens inside, and no one is using them.”
The person leading the group panted, “There are four of us.”
Yan Yibing lightly scoffed, “So you plan to occupy two machines?”
The person confidently replied, “We brought a minor with us.”
He pushed forward a weak-looking companion, implying to Yan Yibing that it was perfectly reasonable for them to enter and play.
The pushed-out minor seemed guilty, lowering his head and casting furtive glances with slightly hunched shoulders.
Yan Yibing could tell he was lying, so he casually hooked his arm around Han Mo’s shoulder, raised his chin, and said confidently, “Our kid here is also a minor.”
Han Mo glanced at him sideways, giving him a meaningful look.
Yan Yibing lightly tapped Han Mo’s shoulder with his fingers, indicating for him not to expose the truth.
After all, being nineteen or eighteen was not a significant difference, and pretending to be a minor was not a big deal.
Han Mo didn’t expose him in the end.
The hunched companion gently nudged the leader and whispered, “Let’s just play one round, take turns, okay?”
The leader, displeased, said, “I’ve been waiting for these two machines for a whole day. If I wanted to take turns with the players earlier, I would have been able to play them long ago, isn’t it because you want to play online!”
The hunched companion meekly kept quiet, shrinking backward.
The leader puffed up his sagging belly, “How about a bet? You lose, and you hand over the game machines to us. Fair enough, right?”
Yan Yibing and Han Mo exchanged a glance.
Han Mo frowned, “I’m not very good at this.”
Yan Yibing sighed, “Our little friend here is touching a game console for the first time. He only knows how to play Fruit Ninja. Want to compete in Fruit Ninja?” The leader sneered, “Are you kidding me?”
Even the people behind him chimed in, “Yeah, who plays such a childish game like Fruit Ninja?”
“If you don’t know how to play, just give up.”
Even the hunched companion, who had been feeling guilty, straightened his neck and said, “If you’re afraid to compete, just give up. We were about to play Battlefield online.”
The leader twisted open a cola bottle and took a gulp, his belly bulging, “Two heroes in Battlefield, compete in one round. Whoever dies first leaves the game room for the rest of the days on the cruise. Deal or not?”
Han Mo’s expression turned slightly cold, and he asked calmly, “What’s Battlefield?”
He had absolutely no clue.
The other party knew he couldn’t play and deliberately chose a game he was unfamiliar with.
Han Mo’s patience was already limited. If Yan Yibing wanted to play and someone was obstructing them, then he would take responsibility for driving the person away.
With that, Han Mo took a step forward, rolling up the sleeves of his coat.
Being tall and well-built, with a stern expression, he did look a bit intimidating.
The most timid hunched figure, sensing the unfavorable situation, quickly slipped behind their leader.
Yan Yibing, however, grabbed Han Mo’s collar and pulled him back.
“Don’t worry; I promise you’ll learn.”
Yan Yibing smiled, his eyes showing amusement. His semi-long hair curled slightly, hanging gently by his ears, giving him an elegant appearance.
He asked calmly, “Are you sure you want to compete with us in an FPS game?”1FPS game: First Person Shooter Game, it is similar to pubg
Han Mo raised an eyebrow upon hearing that.
FPS.
So they stumbled upon their area of expertise?
The leader sneered, “Stop the nonsense. Dare to compete or not? If not, leave quickly.”
Yan Yibing chuckled with a good temper, “Sure, let’s compete. Whoever loses can’t come to the game room for these days.”
With that, Yan Yibing took the lead and entered the room.
Han Mo had no choice but to follow.
Yan Yibing chose the machine on the left. The Xbox was already connected, and two controllers were neatly placed on the table.
Han Mo sighed, “I didn’t expect a competition during our vacation.”
“Didn’t you already have one before?”
Yan Yibing pulled a chair and sat down, lazily raising his legs.
As Han Mo settled beside him, Yan Yibing moved the controller subtly and whispered, “I saw the dart competition. Impressive, Han Shen.”
The tone slightly teasing, arousing a tremor in people’s hearts.
