When Shan Ming appeared in the fighting arena for the third time, everyone could see that he was not in good condition.

The betting time was delayed by half than usual. It seems that many people are hesitant. On one hand, they feel that Shan Ming cannot win the game this time but on the other hand, they hope that Shan Ming can excite them like the previous two games.

Shan Ming sat outside the ring and waited for them to place their bets. Nesis was obviously a little nervous. He was fidgeting and hesitant for a while. He finally asked: “How sure are you of winning?”

Shan Ming opened his eyes to look at him, “Don’t bet if you don’t have guts.”

Nesis growled, “I’ve already placed my bet!”

Shan Ming gave him a disdainful look. He just wanted to go on closing his eyes and meditating.

Nesis asked: “Are you going to bet all your money this time?”

“No.”

“Why? You’re not sure you’ll win?” Nesis became even more nervous.

Shan Ming curled his lips, “If I die, I will leave some inheritance for my son.” In the previous two games, he earned a total of more than 40 million. He didn’t know whether to call it easy money or not. All in all, he fought with his life for it. He felt that he might not be able to make it out of this game. His account was in the hands of Shen Changze. So if he died, he would leave the money for his son. He would not have time to spend it anyway.

Nesis thought of the kid who was with him in the casino that night. He was apparently only in his teens. Although he looked like a formidable character, he was too young. Thus, it was not as reassuring as Shan Ming to be a fighter. It is really impossible for him to imagine that Shan Ming already has such a teenage son.

Nesis nodded. The nervousness in his heart gradually cooled down. He said in a deep voice, “Don’t lose.”

Shan Ming smiled coldly. He stood up and moved his arm. The doctor used nerve freezing on him to relieve his pain. The arm did not hurt and he could use it. However, this method only temporarily paralyzed the painful nerves. It did not mean that the arm was fine. So, using it forcefully under such circumstances would cause great damage to his arm. But he has no other choice.

He turned and jumped onto the ring.

His opponent is a retired special soldier known as ‘Wild Beast’. He is an overall champion with 16 wins and 0 losses. He stepped onto the stage.

When Shan Ming saw his opponent’s face clearly, he was stunned. He never expected to meet someone he knew here. Standing in front of him was a Caucasian man with black hair and blue eyes. He was in his forties, tall, and exuded the fortitude unique to a soldier. He didn’t appear to be using any drugs. Five years ago, Shan Ming had dealt with him many times in the United States. This man is Captain William House of the SWAT Army. Similar to Shen Changze, he is a Dragon Blood Man!

Shan Ming started to wonder; Why is he here? And after fighting in so many games, he must have been here for a while. Could it be that he had retired and came here to earn extra money? This fighting arena is really easy for a mature Dragon Blood Man such as him.

House smiled at him. He then said quickly and softly, “It’s been a while.”

His voice was very low. The referee who was stepping into the ring wouldn’t be able to hear him. When he finished speaking, the referee had already run between the two of them, pretending to be excited. He began to exaggerate this fatal fight, “Shout out to ‘Wild beast’ decisive battle against ‘Beauty’!” The emotions of the audience were provoked to a critical point. The high-pitched cheers made Shan Ming worry if the roof might collapse.

After shouting, the referee quickly jumped off the ring, leaving the battlefield of death to the two of them.

Shan Ming looked at him suspiciously. He lowered his voice and asked, “Why are you here?”

House spit out a few short words, “For a task. I am more curious about you. Why are you here?”

Shan Ming couldn’t bear to tell him that he was kidnapped. So he also said coldly, “A mission.”

House smiled and shook his head. He then moved his limbs, showing a serious expression, “Come on. I won’t show mercy.”

Shan Ming snorted coldly. He took a few sidesteps and kicked House’s neck using a roundabout kick.

In this game, he can only avoid using his hands as much as possible. Or else, his arm will be useless.

This kick was impeccable in terms of speed, strength, and accuracy. An opponent who was comparable to him would use his arms to block or squat to dodge. But House did not dodge. Instead, he clutched his ankle.

Shan Ming broke out in a cold sweat. He didn’t even see when House stretched out his hand. The audience was in an uproar. He caught him so easily at such a fast speed. What kind of inhuman reaction should this be?

House smiled coldly. He swung his arms and threw Shan Ming off in the air. Shan Ming hit the ring rope and rolled to the ground.

Before he had time to get up, a dark shadow flashed in front of his eyes and a heavy blow hit his stomach. He was kicked directly into the gap under the rope of the ring.

Shan Ming held his stomach with both hands and curled up on the ground. This kick was too powerful. He wondered if it would cause any bleeding in his stomach.

House squatted on the edge of the ring. Not even a drop of sweat broke out on his forehead, “You are not my opponent. Don’t stand up. I won’t kill you.”

Shan Ming felt dizzy. The pain in his stomach was overwhelming. He felt like vomiting for a moment but he couldn’t vomit anything out. It was absolutely uncomfortable.

The crowd was excited and shouted “Beauty! Beauty!”

Shan Ming wiped his face. Anger and humiliation welled up in his heart.

He didn’t believe that the gap between himself and the Dragon Blood Man would be that big. Damn it. It’s so embarrassing that he was thrown down all of a sudden. This couldn’t be happening… No matter how injured he is, no matter how bad he is, there shouldn’t be such a huge gap between them. It’s fine if he’s in the form of a Dragon Blood Man. But House is in his human form. So there shouldn’t be such a huge gap. It shouldn’t be like this!

Fighting spirit and pride supported Shan Ming to stand up. He glared fiercely at House. There was a bit of humiliation and resentment in his eyes.

House shook his head, “You should be on vacation in South France. What are you doing here? Where is he?”

Shan Ming grabbed the rope and flipped back into the ring beautifully, “Don’t ask useless questions. I haven’t lost yet.”

House took two steps back, staring at his movement and said, “Don’t you want to know what I’m doing here? You tell me your mission and I’ll tell you mine. How about it?”

Shan Ming smiled, showing his white teeth, “I’m here… for pocket money!”

He jumped in front of House and punched him. House reached out to stop him. Shan Ming suddenly turned his hands and held on to his arm. He used his body to roll 360 degrees, trying to twist House’s arm. After all, House had already been pulled up by Shan Ming more than four times. He turned over in a hurry. Both of them fell to the ground. Shan Ming pressed one leg on his neck while still holding House’s arm with both hands. He twisted them firmly. House clasped Shan Ming’s shoulders and exerted force with his hands. Shan Ming’s face turned pale from the pain so he had no choice but to let go. He rolled to the side and jumped up from the ground.

As soon as he stood firm, House had already raised his leg and kicked him over. The speed was too fast. Shan Ming had no time to dodge so he could only raise his arm to block and his whole body was swept to the ground by the force of his kick.

Shan Ming rolled on the ground. He rolled to House’s feet and held onto his thigh. He punched the hollow of his knee with a strong force.

House let out a cry of pain and his thighs softened. He knelt down on the ground and Shan Ming punched House’s temple with a single punch.

House reached out and grabbed his fist. He twisted it back and directly dislocated Shan Ming’s arm.

Shan Ming’s eyes were red and he kicked House’s thigh vigorously with both legs. He kicked House into anger so he punched Shan Ming in the face. He then grabbed his ankle and threw him off. This time he did not throw him out but he directly knocked him to the ground.

The back of Shan Ming’s head landed on the ground. His eyes blurred and he couldn’t think of anything for a moment. Now that the fight was real, he only felt pain and numbness all over his body. He could hardly move.

House took a breath and squatted beside him, “Shan, you are very powerful. But you are just a human and will never be my opponent. Give up. I don’t want to kill you. I have a reason to stay here. And you. You shouldn’t be that short of money.”

Shan Ming squinted his eyes and shook his head vigorously. He felt dizzy and nauseated. His cheeks were burning hot and his eye sockets were swollen. It hurts to even blink.

House grabbed him by the collar. He picked him up and walked step by step towards the direction where Nesis was sitting, “We suspect that the drugs used by the people here are related to a leak from a dragon blood experiment. I came here to carry out a task. So put away your competitive spirit.”

Shan Ming opened his red eyes. Just when House thought he was going to faint, Shan Ming suddenly reached out and grabbed his neck. House widened his eyes and grabbed his hands. He said in a deep voice : “Let go of me. Don’t be annoying.”

Shan Ming didn’t have much rationality at this time.

He grew up with death around him and countless times, his life was hanging by a thread. It made his nerves strong but also fragile. When he was seriously threatened by his opponent where he couldn’t beat the opponent, he would lose his mind in despair. He would automatically only fight back frantically in order to save his life.

At this time, no matter how much House promised not to kill him, he couldn’t believe him. For him, the only thing that could keep him alive was the death of his opponent!

So he choked House’s neck tightly and pressed his aorta with his thumb. Even if he could feel the hand on his neck tightening, the air was leaving his lungs and his life was on the line. He would not let go.

If you want to survive, kill your opponent! Shan Ming thought to himself crazily.

House’s eyes were burning in anger. He grabbed Shan Ming’s arm instead, trying to shake it off of his neck. But he didn’t know that Shan Ming’s arm was injured. With so much strength, no matter how hard he tried, Shan Ming didn’t let go. Seeing the firm killing intent in Shan Ming’s eyes, House realised for the first time how the profession of mercenaries is really informidable. Their animal instincts were hundred times enhanced when they were on the verge of life and death.

Knowing that he couldn’t take it anymore, House raised his fist and aimed it at Shan Ming’s temple. He threatened him for the last time: “Get your hands off!”

Shan Ming’s whole body was limp. Only his arms were as hard as steel.

A cold light flashed in House’s eyes. He mobilised the dragon blood in his body to gather in his arm. He then punched Shan Ming’s temple.

*Translator’s Note: SM is so proud. If I was him, I would just tell House that I was kidnapped and ask for his help. Lol! -K
