DCFRP Chapter 68

Divorce

TL: Hua

This was the first time that Li Kun accompanied Qi Xiaoyu back to the Xun family.

Li Kun glanced at the destination set in the navigation system – Huanhubie County.

He had only seen this place name in the news push and never thought that he would go to such a place. He heard that those who could live there were either rich or very rich, and they were all big shots.

He set the destination and glanced at Qi Xiaoyu in the rearview mirror.

Qi Xiaoyu wore a white shirt and a dark blue vest on the outside. The three wood-grain buttons on the vest were very unique.

He sat very straight, his head tilted to look out the window, his right hand resting on the paper bag, and fine beads of sweat on his forehead.

He couldn’t move his shoulders, so it took him a lot of time and effort to go out and change clothes. He chose a shirt and vest combination, which made the dressing process even more laborious.

But it was really nice to look at. Li Kun couldn’t help but take a few more glances in the rearview mirror. Even though Qi Xiaoyu had lost some weight and looked a little pale in the past two days, he was just like the fallen nobleman he played in “The Departed,”  cold, sickly, and noble.

Li Kun gave him a pillow and said, “It will be at least an hour’s drive. If you feel uncomfortable, lean on it, or let me stop and rest.”

Li Kun didn’t dare to drive too fast for fear of bumping into Qi Xiaoyu’s wound. He knew that Qi Xiaoyu had a driver. It should be arranged by that gentleman. He thought that a professional driver should drive smoother than him, but Qi Xiaoyu named him to drive; presumably he didn’t want to use that driver.

Although Li Kun was very careful, sometimes the more careful you are, the more unexpected things will happen.

When passing a small road, a motorcycle driving in the opposite direction rushed out from a road next to it.

Li Kun subconsciously stepped on the brakes.

The people in the car leaned forward at the same time.

Li Kun immediately turned around and asked, “Did you hit your shoulder?”

In his peripheral vision, he seemed to see Qi Xiaoyu bump into something, but when he looked back, Qi Xiaoyu’s face was calm, and his right hand was still holding the paper bag. “I’m fine; you keep driving.”

Li Kun felt that Qi Xiaoyu was really patient. Since the fall, he has endured all the dressing changes, examinations, and treatments by himself. He remembered that the other party was also like this when he was in the crew, enduring the hardships and tiredness of filming alone. He didn’t say anything, nor did he show it. As long as he faced outsiders, he always appeared calm and gentle.

Li Kun felt a little distressed again. Qi Xiaoyu was obviously younger than him. To develop such a character, such self-restraint and patience, he must have suffered a lot when he was a child.

Li Kun drove more carefully than before.

Fortunately, the road was smooth afterwards.

The car drove along the main road into the path leading to the Xun family villa.

The scenery on both sides remained the same. With the arrival of summer, the originally lush vegetation became more lush, tall, and dense.

The Lexus passed through two layers of security and drove all the way to the outside of the villa.

The iron gate blocked them.

It wasn’t like before when it scanned Qi Xiaoyu’s license plate and open automatically.

The iron gate seemed to face a stranger who was visiting for the first time, without any movement, cold and indifferent, rejecting people from thousands of miles away with a lofty attitude.

Li Kun didn’t know and thought that he had to contact the people inside before entering and leaving such a place, so he turned his head and asked, “Xiaoyu, do you want to call someone to open the door?”

Qi Xiaoyu didn’t say anything.

Li Kun looked in the rearview mirror and saw that Qi Xiaoyu was very calm, with no expression on his face.

But he felt something was different in his heart, because this calmness was different from the calmness after being bumped into something just now. This was almost a kind of calmness, like dead water.

Qi Xiaoyu held the record in his hand and just looked at the iron gate tightly closed in front of him quietly, without saying anything.

Li Kun could only sit there, not knowing whether to go in or out.

After about fifteen minutes, the iron gate finally opened.

Li Kun was about to restart the car and go in when he saw an Audi commercial vehicle coming out.

The Audi flashed its lights twice and then stopped to the side.

Zhang Han got out of the car, and after confirming that it was Qi Xiaoyu sitting inside, he walked over slowly and hesitantly, then bent down and gently knocked on the window.

Qi Xiaoyu rolled down the window.

Zhang Han looked in with a complicated expression, with sympathy, embarrassment, and helplessness.

He bent over, tilted his head, and said in a very low voice, “Mr. Qi, are you here to celebrate the birthday of the Third Master as well?”

“Yes.”

Zhang Han rubbed his hands together and said, “I think you shouldn’t go in. The Third Master said he doesn’t want to celebrate his birthday.”

Qi Xiaoyu lowered his eyes, and the corners of his mouth slightly raised, “I have a gift for him.”

Zhang Han choked on the spot, turned his eyes away, bit his lips, and seemed to have mustered up a lot of courage before he quickly said in one breath, “Mr. Qi, the Third Master said you have to move out of here. He has already arranged a place for you to stay.”

While the two people were talking in the back, Li Kun had been sitting silently in the driver’s seat. When he heard Zhang Han’s words, he suddenly raised his eyes and looked at Qi Xiaoyu in the rearview mirror.

Qi Xiaoyu’s face turned pale in an instant, and from the rearview mirror, Li Kun could even see his jaw trembling slightly.

Li Kun looked at Qi Xiaoyu without blinking. He was just lamenting at Qi Xiaoyu’s strong endurance, and he didn’t say a word even when his shoulder was hit, but now… or before, he had never seen Qi Xiaoyu express his emotions so openly.

Li Kun really wanted to jump down and beat up this Zhang Han. Qi Xiaoyu came to celebrate someone’s birthday while sick, and this is what he got in return?

But Li Kun didn’t move. He looked at Qi Xiaoyu motionlessly, fearing that the person who hasn’t recovered yet would suddenly fall down, but after a while, he heard Qi Xiaoyu raise his head and clearly say, “Is it Weihao Hotel?”

Zhang Han took a breath and said, “Yes.”

“It’s the room you and the Third Master stayed in last time. Do you think there’s anything you want to buy? Tell me, I will prepare it for you right away.”

Qi Xiaoyu opened his mouth but didn’t speak.

Then, Zhang Han brought in another document with a trembling hand, “And this. Third Master asks you to sign it.”

Li Kun didn’t know what Zhang Han handed over.

But he could guess from Qi Xiaoyu’s expression that it must not be a good thing.

Because Qi Xiaoyu’s expression became very, very bad, as if covered with a layer of pale gray.

There was a long silence inside and outside the car.

After a long while, Qi Xiaoyu took the document and even smiled slightly, “Okay, let me take a look first.”

“Yes.” Zhang Han swallowed his saliva, and his voice became smaller and smaller, “You take a look, but it’s better to be…quick. I still have to give it back to the Third Master.”

Qi Xiaoyu said almost emotionlessly, “Okay.”

While the two were talking, another car drove out of the iron gate and stopped next to them.

It was a silver BMW.

Xu Xueyin, wearing a black tweed haute couture suit, walked down.

She glanced at Zhang Han first, and then locked her eyes on Qi Xiaoyu.

She looked at Qi Xiaoyu’s bandaged left shoulder and showed an exaggerated and sarcastic smile, “Qi Xiaoyu? Long time no see, weren’t you fine the last time we met? How did you become like this? Were you stopped outside by my son? How pitiful.”

Qi Xiaoyu lowered his eyes and said nothing. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to pay attention to Xu Xueyin, but he couldn’t hear what was said outside. All his attention was still on the document, and Xun Qian’s signature was in the lower right corner of the document.

The document that he thought was like a fairy tale was signed so easily by Xun Qian.

Zhang Han glanced at Qi Xiaoyu’s face and immediately stepped forward to stop Xu Xueyin, saying in a voice that could be called a reprimand, “Madam, please be careful with your words, don’t make the Third Master angry.”

“Hmph,” Xu Xueyin’s mental state seemed to be abnormal. She raised her head and laughed sharply. “Do I need to be afraid that he will be angry?”

She pushed away Zhang Han’s arm that was blocking her and stared at Qi Xiaoyu with a vicious look, “Don’t think that you can be so proud by following Xun Qian. Xun Qian is cold-blooded and ruthless. Ha, you actually want to get close to him. Haha, it’s ridiculous.”

Seeing that Xu Xueyin was getting more and more outrageous, Zhang Han quickly winked and asked the security guards behind him to quickly get Xu Xueyin away.

He bent down and said to Qi Xiaoyu, “Mr. Qi, don’t take her words to heart. She…she was stimulated just now…The Third Master treats you…”

Zhang Han originally wanted to say that Xun Qian treats you differently from others, but looking at the current situation, how can he say this?

But Qi Xiaoyu was not in the mood to deal with Xu Xueyin.

He held the documents in his hand and handed the record to Zhang Han, saying, “Although he doesn’t want to celebrate his birthday, I still want to give him a gift. I wish him a happy birthday.”

Zhang Han opened his mouth, but this time he couldn’t say a word. No, he had a lot to say, but he really didn’t know where to start.

Qi Xiaoyu said again, “I think this document is very well done, and I will sign it as soon as possible… It’s urgent, right? … Come to the hospital to fetch it tonight at the latest.”

****

In the Xun family villa, at the window on the third floor of the bedroom, a white dove quietly landed on the windowsill.

On the lawn, the parasol was blown crooked by the wind without anyone lifting it up.

In the sunlight, Xun Qian’s skin and eyelashes were so light that they were almost transparent.

He sat there alone, motionless, facing the direction of the iron gate.

On his right hand was a divorce agreement, which was found in Qi Xiaoyu’s car.

The news said that the horse’s hoof was only an inch away from stepping on Qi Xiaoyu’s cervical vertebrae.

The news also said that Qi Xiaoyu was working while still being sick, and his schedule was very full recently despite him not being in good spirits.

Xun Qian closed his eyes, and many past scenes flashed through his mind: the beach where his sister died unexpectedly, and Tang Yide’s body trampled by horse hooves.

Yes, Xu Xueyin was right; he was born an unfortunate person.

He shouldn’t bring this misfortune to Qi Xiaoyu.

He remembered Qi Xiaoyu’s spirited and glorious appearance on the screen and on the red carpet. He remembered the eyes that were obsessed with him, loved him, and were crazy about him when the camera swept everywhere.

Qi Xiaoyu should always live in the light, live under the spotlight, calm, dazzling, energetic, high-spirited, chased, and loved by everyone.

He shouldn’t selfishly trap the person around him, but fail to protect him.

Now, since Qi Xiaoyu wanted to leave, he would give him a push.

When Butler Cheng entered the door, he felt his heart tremble with every step he took.

He stopped one meter behind Xun Qian and said, “Mr. Qi is leaving soon. You really don’t want to go and see him?”

Xun Qian didn’t move, but his fingers were clasped on the armrest of the wheelchair, almost breaking his nails and leaving a bloody mark.

There seemed to be the sound of a motor in the distance.

And at the end of the lawn, layers of tall trees covered everything.

In the gap between the tall trees, the shadow of Lexus flashed by.

He’s gone!

Xun Qian stood up from the wheelchair, although it was only for a second, and then he fell back.

“Third Master! Third Master, be careful!”

Butler Cheng supported him with fear.

He remembered that a few days ago, in the hospital ward, when he heard the news that Qi Xiaoyu fell off the horse, Xun Qian rushed down from the bed without waiting for someone to push the wheelchair.

Though, very, very briefly, he had taken two steps and fallen down like now.

Song Yue said this was a good thing, a sign that consciousness was gradually recovering under strong stimulation.

But when Butler Cheng saw Xun Qian’s painful expression, he couldn’t believe that this was a good thing.

Butler Cheng didn’t dare to move and followed Xun Qian to look out the window, saying softly,

“Just now, Madam went out and met Mr. Qi. She…seemed to have said something to him.”

Xun Qian’s eyes suddenly darkened, and the aura that was lonely just now suddenly became sinister and cold.

Even the sunlight couldn’t melt the ice sculpture-like coldness.

Xun Qian snorted coldly. He had always felt sorry for Xu Xueyin because of his father and sister, so no matter how big of a fuss she was making, no matter what the Xu family did, he endured it, but now, when it comes to bullying Qi Xiaoyu, it’s not acceptable.

Xun Qian first asked, “Did he sign?”

Butler Cheng lowered his head. “Well, Zhang Han said that he would bring back the signed documents tonight…”

Then, a hint of coldness appeared on Xun Qian’s lips: “Let the lawyer transfer all the property as quickly as possible. If they dare to touch my people, don’t even think about getting away with it.”

Butler Cheng trembled slightly. Such a ruthless Xun Qian appeared when he was fifteen years old.

That year, the fifteen-year-old Xun Qian eliminated Xu Xueyin’s lover, undermined Xu Xueyin’s power, supported Zhang Han, a classmate he met at school, to take power, and firmly grasped the financial power of the Xun family in his own hands.

It was also in that year that Xun Qian became more withdrawn and gloomy, and he almost never stepped out of the Xun family’s door.

Later, he gradually became tired of business matters and lost interest.

Butler Cheng recalled that when he was in school, Xun Qian, who had not yet been in a wheelchair, was called a genius and was admired by countless people. Even if he was cold and withdrawn, there were always girls who gave him gifts. He was handsome and smart.

He was proficient in economics, law, horsemanship, archery, and even the violin.

When the girls in the school talked about the young master of the Xun family, they all looked at him with admiration and worship.

Unlike now, when the head of the Xun family is mentioned, everyone only has the impression that he is cold and cruel, half paralyzed, and constantly coughing blood.

Xun Qian stared ahead, with almost no emotion in his cold eyes. Since the Mao family, the Xu family, and Tang Yuning wanted to fight him and dared to touch Qi Xiaoyu, he could only make these people lose everything and never come back.

Hua: Here comes the drama. Idk but Xun Qian was being an assshle 😾😾😾
