DADH Chapter 11

“Of course! How could our Dragon Lord be in human form? We must find a way to reclaim the other half of the bloodline power and forge a dragon’s body!”

After Hesse spoke, the dragons unanimously agreed.

Certainly, their conviction would have been more convincing if their eyes hadn’t subtly lingered on the beautiful golden hair of Jing Nian.

A young azure wind dragon, not as resolute as the others, looked helplessly at Jing Nian’s lovely golden hair and said, “But… Am I the only one who thinks that the hair of the Second Young Master is quite beautiful, and the body is beautiful too? Is that not okay…?”

Duang!” Just as this azure wind dragon voiced its opinion in the dragons’ consciousness link, it was met with a thump on its head.

The one delivering the blow was an even older wind dragon named Cang Lin. “Of course, it’s just you!”

This elder wind dragon chastised its naive offspring in front of everyone through the consciousness link.

“You brat, have you completely lost your pride as a dragon?! The Second Young Master is good-looking because it’s the Second Young Master! What does that have to do with being in human form?”

“That’s right!”

The older dragons around nodded in agreement, simultaneously educating their own young dragons with their gaze.

The young dragons, who were convinced reluctantly, found themselves in brief confusion. However, following the reasoning of the older dragons, it seemed to make sense!

The young dragons who had been reluctantly convinced fell into momentary bewilderment. Consequently, they failed to notice the older dragons, one by one, nodding and feeling guilty as they avoided gazing at Jing Nian inside the little dragon cub’s body.

As a short council meeting reached a consensus, the dragons turned their attention back to the little dragon cub sitting on the ground lost in thought.

Leading the way, the elder dragon Hesse approached.

Once again, the little dragon cub was gently lifted up, and placed on the highest and largest golden throne in the palace.

This dragon throne was reserved solely for the Dragon Lord.

Due to the immense size of the dragons’ bodies, their legs seemed disproportionately short, making the throne appear quite wide and low.

In reality, it wasn’t low at all. At least, not for the little dragon cub and Jing Nian. It had to be as tall as several little dragons stacked together!

The throne was also incredibly wide. On top of it, the little dragon cub could run around in circles.

Jing Nian couldn’t find a reference point at that moment, but based on the previous comparisons of his height and body proportions with the little dragon cub inside the egg, the little dragon cub’s height wouldn’t exceed 30 centimeters, including its small dragon legs and elongated tail and wings. The maximum might not surpass 50 centimeters.

Meanwhile, in this palace filled with dragons, even the smallest one’s toes were larger than the little dragon cub’s.

Jing Nian compared the dragons in the palace again. Based on the measurements of the little dragon cub’s unchanged post-hatching body size, the height of the dragons probably ranged between 16 and 25 meters. During the moment when the largest elder dragon lifted and placed the little dragon cub onto the golden throne, Jing Nian observed that the width of the throne was about 15 times the length of the old dragon.

The seat surface was around 30 meters deep and 40 meters wide. Erm… the rumored Mary Sue bed was only around 200 square meters…

Seated on a 1,200 square meters solid, golden, enormous dragon throne.

Even for someone born with a silver spoon in their mouth like Jing Nian, there were only two stark words left in his mind:

—Astounded.

When the Dragon Blood Pool collapsed, Jing Nian had heard the dragons utter the word “Young Masters” in their language multiple times. So, when he was placed on the elevated throne, he instantly realized.

The crying little dragon cub was actually the dragons’ “Young Master”!

That would make him a Dragon King, wouldn’t it?

Next, Jing Nian saw the dragons that had been gathered in the center of the grand hall earlier now orderly dispersing, turning to face the direction of the throne and aligning themselves.

They were arranged in a neat line, sorted by color and size. Each successive one looked very similar to the one before, matching in color and progressively decreasing in size, resembling a lineage of grandfather, father, and grandson.

Jing Nian also noticed that the fiery red dragon that had frightened him earlier had obediently lined up behind two even larger fiery red dragons.

After the dragons had lined up, their leader, Hesse, roared a dragon’s roar. Following this command, all the dragons bent their knees slightly towards the young lord on the throne, bowing in submission to their newly born Young Lord.

This wasn’t a simple salute. A complex bonding ceremony followed, where each dragon individually offered a loyalty contract to their Young Lord.

During the extended and intricate bonding process, the normally impatient dragons showed rare restraint, and some even exhibited a sense of excitement.

Whenever they approached the little dragon cub, they couldn’t help but grin, almost sticking out their tongues.

In the process of closely observing the dragons’ faces, Jing Nian suddenly felt that after seeing so many dragon faces, the dragons weren’t as terrifying as he thought. Moreover, the more he looked, the more he felt that the grinning dragons seemed somewhat foolish, a bit like a certain kind of famous silly dog from his world – a Husky.

Thinking like this, Jing Nian’s apprehension toward the dragons gradually lessened.

However, Jing Nian failed to realize that his fear of the dragons was actually diminishing slowly with each dragon’s bonding.

Regardless, he was finally relaxing. As the ceremony neared its conclusion, he even dared to closely observe the dragons’ faces and silently pass judgment on them.

Just as he caught sight of the solemn elder dragon at the front grinning again, his dignity immediately crumbled, replaced by a bafflingly silly expression. Jing Nian couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.

The instant Jing Nian chuckled, the elder dragon immediately suppressed the smile, its brown eyes carrying an inexplicable meaning. It looked over, its gaze piercing.

Jing Nian thought he had been discovered and immediately silenced himself, barely daring to move.

Just as Jing Nian held his breath, afraid, he saw the elder dragon’s brown eyes casually sweep over the little dragon’s body, then shift to the dragon throne. Afterward, the dragon’s gaze lightly swept across the dragons engaged in the ceremony.

It was as if the previous incident had been a mere coincidence.

However, Jing Nian still didn’t dare to make any sudden movements.

He thought to himself: It seems I have to be more careful.

Although he hadn’t figured out why he had mysteriously fused with the little dragon, considering the fact that he could now push the little dragon cub aside from controlling their shared body just as the little dragon had pushed him earlier, they seemed to have entered a state of sharing their body.

Originally, Jing Nian had thought that as long as he wasn’t discovered while observing the dragons, he was safe. However, now it seemed that the dragons’ perception was not to be underestimated, so he still needed to be cautious.

Sighing inwardly, he quickly emptied his mind as he had done in the egg, hugging his body and curling up.

Hesse, who had turned away, noticed Jing Nian’s defensiveness and sighed silently in his heart. He decided to privately give a warning to the young dragons about being more considerate.

The current Second Young Master, due to being born prematurely, seemed to have a more fragile soul.

He needed to be even more careful in the future!

Sensing Jing Nian’s emotions, the little dragon cub sitting on the dragon throne in the middle tilted its head and let out a soft sound, simultaneously projecting a comforting feeling toward Jing Nian.

“Little brother, don’t be afraid~”

As the gentle voice reached him, Jing Nian felt something soft and warm brush against him.

He knew it was the dragon soul of the little dragon cub. The soothing power of the little dragon cub was incredibly strong. Jing Nian’s tense mind was instantly calmed, and a soft smile unconsciously appeared on his face.

Feeling Jing Nian’s change, the little dragon cub also smiled in response.

Although the dragons, led by Hesse, had reached a consensus through their collective consciousness not to stare at the Second Young Master too much and frighten him, in reality, when they turned their backs, many of them were secretly using their dragon souls to scrutinize the two young ones.

Especially the dragons who had completed the loyalty contract, due to their deeper connection with the Young Lords, they could see more clearly. Some of them even showed signs of excitement, nearly taking off in mid-air.

Originally, the link between the bond of loyalty was supposed to be: Sovereign > Subject.

However, the spiritual power of the dragons had grown from youth to adulthood, reaching its peak only in adulthood. Therefore, the connection between an adult Subject and a newly born Young Lord could briefly shift into a state where Subject > Young Lord. This was meant to better protect the still undeveloped Young Lord.

But that didn’t prevent them from sneaking glances and then getting overwhelmed by the cuteness of the young dragons’ interactions!

Because they wanted to look but couldn’t, and they wanted to jump with excitement but had to restrain themselves, many dragons experienced brief trembles for no apparent reason. Those that trembled acted as though nothing had happened.

This led the dragons in Jing Nian’s eyes to appear somewhat shifty.

Jing Nian held his knees, his lips pressed together, and once again emptied his mind. His gaze carried a mixture of unease and confusion.

The little dragon cub, not understanding the situation, looked at the dragons around and then observed the curled-up Jing Nian. It was even more perplexed than Jing Nian.

It couldn’t comprehend why the dragons, who were already aware of Jing Nian and could now see him, were pretending not to see him, and why Jing Nian seemed unaware that they could see him.

Curious, it widened its eyes and scrutinized the surrounding dragons one by one.

Recalling that he could communicate with the little dragon cub using their consciousness, Jing Nian attempted to establish communication, recalling the feeling when he had heard the little dragon cub’s thoughts earlier.

“Little one? Can you hear me?”

Indeed, he felt a flicker of surprise in the little dragon cub’s eyes.

Then, slowly and sluggishly, his consciousness responded, “Little brother, don’t be afraid~”

Jing Nian: “…”

Even back when he was in the dragon egg, he had noticed that the little dragon cub had a limited vocabulary and could only blurt out words two by two. But he had to correct this “little brother” address.

Looking at the massive dragons around him, Jing Nian decided to educate the little dragon cub. He wanted to clarify that the size of their bodies didn’t necessarily mean bigger ones were older brothers and smaller ones were younger brothers. So, he communicated with the little dragon cub in his mind, “Good little one~ Do you see that the dragons are much bigger than you?”

Upon hearing this, the little dragon cub raised its head just as a dragon came forward to form a bond and advanced towards it with its ponderous steps. The little dragon cub earnestly observed the dragon’s body.

Then, it lowered its head and looked at its own small and chubby body.

It discovered that what it had once been proud of, the claws, dragon horns, and wings it had used to make Jing Nian bow down, had all been rendered into pieces.

After hatching and seeing so many dragons, it had never thought about comparing itself to others. But now, seeing the vast difference, it couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed.

Uh…

Feeling the little dragon cub’s eyes moisten, Jing Nian inwardly thought this wasn’t good.

Yet, it was already too late.

The next moment, a resounding and ear-piercing cry echoed throughout the dragon palace.

Inside the palace, the dragons encircling the little dragon cub were all lifting their massive heads, eager to approach and see their Young Lord. But the moment they heard the cry, all the dragons were startled, frozen in place, their colossal dragon eyes staring blankly toward the middle where the little dragon cub was sobbing uncontrollably.

What was happening to the Young Lord!?

Proud and thick-skinned by nature, most of the dragons had never experienced crying or shedding tears since hatching. But now, this small ball of a Young Lord was crying so heartbreakingly!

Surely, something significant had occurred!

The expressions of the dragons grew grave, and they stared intently at the little dragon cub in the center of the palace. A few dragons subconsciously stomped their feet, causing the palace floor to tremble.

Even the usually composed elder dragon Hesse was panicking!

In an instant, the peace that the dragon tribe had experienced for an unprecedented three hours vanished.

The author has something to say:

Thanks to the little angels who triggered the landmine: Yuchu, Feiji (1 each).
