“Kenji, Kenji…” In the dim light, a hoarse voice repeatedly called his name like a spell.
The voice was hoarse, and one could hardly call it melodious—it was too low. Yet, the affection embedded in that voice resonated deeply within Fujimori, who was in a daze.

That day, as usual, Fujimori fell asleep, tightly embraced by Julian from behind. But he woke up in the middle of the night.
A warm, rustling sensation brushed against his exposed legs.
He found it strange in his half-asleep state that something was touching his legs like that.
This rustling sensation against his bare skin was likely because he had fallen asleep naked again in Julian’s bed.
Julian, who had great stamina as his appearance suggested, was almost insatiable, leaving Fujimori completely exhausted afterward. It was a pleasant fatigue. But combined with Julian’s high body temperature, being enveloped by that warmth from behind always made him fall asleep quickly, not even bothering to put any clothes on.
Julian himself didn’t seem to have any reservations about sleeping naked. In fact, he even seemed to prefer sleeping skin-to-skin.
Fujimori usually slept soundly until morning. But tonight, he awoke from the pleasant warmth with a sense of discomfort.
It felt warm. But it felt like fur… Fujimori vaguely thought about the sensation on his legs. It felt like thick bundles of hair, soft with a slight coarseness.
However, it wasn’t prickly—instead, it felt warm. It is almost like the fur of a living creature… With that thought, Fujimori instinctively reached out.
Sure enough, it was a bundle of fur which was warm and soft.
A blanket…? He started to wonder. But then his awareness sharpened.
It didn’t feel like a blanket. Besides, it was summer—they weren’t using blankets.
Yet, the fur he touched felt incredibly pleasant.
Why is this here… Fujimori slowly shifted his position, vaguely reaching out to look for Julian beside him.
Then, in the faint moonlight from the window, he noticed a large, furry animal’s leg stretched out right in front of him.
It was a thick leg covered in beastly fur. Dark paw pads, bordered by short hair, faced him.
What is this… Fujimori touched the leg of the beast right in front of him.
The fur on the leg was warm, and so was the leg itself. The paw pads were rough and hard, much larger than Fujimori’s hand. And they were equipped with sharp claws.
It reminded him of the leg of the Akita dog his grandfather used to keep. But it was much larger, with much sharper claws.
His mind was filled with question marks.
“Julian…?”
Fujimori sat up, searching for Julian on the bed.
A large shadow stirred beside him.
“Julian? There’s some kind of…-“
A huge, beast-like thing… Fujimori wanted to say. But then the large shadow in front of him suddenly twitched its ear-like appendages atop its head.
Those were ears, probably. He couldn’t see clearly in the dark room. But he instinctively felt that they were ears.
“Julian…?” Fujimori called out. In the next moment, the dark figure leapt up.
