DHWB Chapter 12

As a guy, Fang Shucheng definitely knew what “hard” meant.

The problem was, they were still walking down the street.

Though no one had noticed yet, the bulge in Wei Jie’s pants was pretty obvious. A small patch of the orange-red sunset landed squarely on it, making it even more noticeable.

Fang Shucheng couldn’t bear to look.

“What do we do?” he asked in a voice barely above a whisper.

There was no way they could just walk home with that.

Wei Jie raised an eyebrow. “Whoever started the fire should put it out.”

Fang Shucheng shrank behind him, “I didn’t do anything.”

With his frustration barely contained, Wei Jie kept walking. Seeing that Wei Jie wasn’t going to hassle him, Fang Shucheng started feeling guilty.

“Does it hurt?”

Wei Jie, breathing heavily, muttered, “Don’t talk to me.”

Fang Shucheng: “…”

He glanced around and noticed a small motel nearby. An idea popped into his head, “Maybe we could, uh… take care of it?” He spoke hesitantly, “Look, there’s a motel right there…”

Wei Jie set him down, his voice low. “We’re underage. We can’t get a room.”

Fang Shucheng was mortified. “…”

Wei Jie sighed, “I’ll just bear with it.”

Then, he waved at Fang Shucheng, motioning for him to walk further ahead. “I swear, you’re really asking for it today.”

Annoyed, Fang Shucheng cursed under his breath and jogged off.

Wei Jie was left behind, feeling utterly frustrated, his mind clouded with desire. It was taking every ounce of willpower not to act on it.

Just as he thought he’d finally manage to endure it, Fang Shucheng returned, holding a newly bought bottle of iced cola. He whispered, “I’ve got an idea.”

Wei Jie glanced at the icy cola in his hand and followed Fang Shucheng’s gaze down to his crotch, immediately understanding what he was implying.

Wei Jie: “…”

With a deep breath, Wei Jie cursed internally. He waved for Fang Shucheng to come over, putting on a gentle smile, “It’s fine now. Come here.”

“Oh,” Fang Shucheng walked over, thinking that if it wasn’t fine, they could still use the cola.

Before he realized it, Wei Jie hoisted him up and gave him a firm smack on the backside.

This time, Wei Jie didn’t hold back, flipping him upside down and tossing him over his shoulder like a sack of flour. Fang Shucheng almost cried from the shock.

“You still have the nerve to cry? What were you planning just now? Trying to sabotage your boyfriend?” Wei Jie scolded.

“I was just trying to help you!” Fang Shucheng protested.

“Don’t think I don’t know what you were up to.” Wei Jie had wanted to carry him home like this before but had been interrupted by the teacher. The feeling of scooping him up and heading home like he was his prize had a certain satisfaction to it, like stealing a bride back to his mountain hideout.

Fang Shucheng stood his ground, “If you had better self-control, I wouldn’t need to run around trying to fix things!”

Wei Jie gave him another pat on the backside, “Alright, I’ll show you just how ‘little’ self-control I have later.”

“…”

After that incident, Wei Jie started bringing Fang Shucheng over to his place every day under the pretense of studying together. Since Wei Jie’s mom already knew about their relationship, it was much easier for them to spend time together at home.

However, with the end of the semester nearing, they mostly just stuck to kissing and cuddling, focusing on studying for their exams. After working hard for about a month, Wei Jie felt confident going into the tests.

“I definitely improved this time,” he said casually. “With how well I’ve been doing, I think I deserve a kiss, don’t you?”

Fang Shucheng gave him a look of disdain. “Considering you were last place in the previous exams, improving is hardly an achievement.”

Wei Jie argued, “I still worked hard, didn’t I?”

“Fine, lower your head.”

Wei Jie bent down, fully expecting a quick peck on the cheek. To his surprise, not only did Fang Shucheng kiss him on the lips, but he also slipped his tongue in.

Wei Jie: “!”

Their lips stayed locked in a slow, sticky kiss for quite a while before they finally pulled apart, reluctantly, their eyes locked on each other.

Wei Jie grinned like he’d just won the lottery. “You’re being so obedient today.”

Fang Shucheng replied, “It’s time for the tongue kiss stage.”

Wei Jie: “…” You’re still sticking to that plan of yours?!

After the exams, the two of them started making plans for a summer vacation trip. They talked about going to Zhejiang, a place known for its beauty. Hangzhou was a must, of course, as it was said, “Up above there’s heaven; down below there’s Suzhou and Hangzhou.” But Fang Shucheng also wanted to visit Wuzhen, a picturesque town with black-tiled roofs and white walls, nestled along the water. The thought of spending an afternoon on a small boat, just the two of them slowly drifting, casually chatting—he found the idea incredibly peaceful.

But he also couldn’t let go of West Lake. It felt like a regret not to visit if they were going all the way to Zhejiang.

Wei Jie patiently waited for him to decide. Seeing how torn he was, he suggested, “Let’s just go to both West Lake and Wuzhen. We could even visit Zhouzhuang, another ancient town in Jiangnan. How about that?”
