FSO Chapter 12

Jiang Wan jumped down the stairs barefoot. “Dou Ming’s in trouble!” His pale, bare feet instantly drew everyone’s attention. Aunt Xue chased after him, asking why he wasn’t wearing slippers. But Jiang Wan flopped onto the sofa, propped his feet up, and began explaining the situation.

Dou Ming had asked if he should work today so that his actions wouldn’t be interrupted!

He had already gone to confront Che Chenying!

They were probably fighting right now!

A 1v5 kind of fight!

Aunt Xue came over with panda slippers, trying to put them on Jiang Wan.

“Get my sneakers,” he said, crossing his right leg while pulling his left foot back, resting it on the slick leather of the chair. The coolness seeped through the leather into his feet, calming him down. “Gang Ya,” he continued, rubbing his left knee, “locate Dou Ming, see if we have anyone nearby. Du Yanjing, get the car ready. We’re heading there now.”

Though they didn’t quite understand what was going on, they immediately followed orders, dropping their meals to take action.

A few minutes later, Gang Ya finished his phone call. “We can’t pinpoint him exactly, but he’s near the school. I’ve sent people to search every street and alley.”

Aunt Xue handed Jiang Wan socks and sneakers, and he quickly put them on in less than thirty seconds.

“We’re going too,” he said as he rushed toward the door, with Gang Ya following close behind.

Du Yanjing had already pulled the car to the front. As soon as Jiang Wan and Gang Ya stepped out, they jumped into the car.

They quickly arrived near the school, avoiding the areas their men had already searched.

“Ready?” Du Yanjing asked from the front as he parked the car by the roadside, looking back at Jiang Wan.

Jiang Wan nodded, his eyes locking onto Gang Ya in the rearview mirror. “Do it.”

Gang Ya took a deep breath. The tightly sealed floodgates opened, and salty sea pheromones surged out, spreading from the parked Maybach into every corner of the surrounding streets and alleys. The overwhelming presence of an Alpha’s pheromones, carefully avoiding Jiang Wan, surged ahead like a roaring ocean.

Where is he? Where is he? Where is he?

The sea roared, searching for its target, waves crashing like a towering tidal wave blotting out the sun.

Jiang Wan sat upright, motionless, but his eyes remained fixed on Gang Ya’s expression in the mirror, watching closely for any change.

Suddenly, the waves crashed into the treetops.

A hint of coldness.

Gang Ya’s heart leaped with joy—he’d found him.

Just as he was about to report back, a bone-chilling cold rushed through, like an avalanche of icy snow.

The Alpha’s territory had been invaded. The scent of somber cedarwood instantly bristled with hostility.

A small part of the sea froze and shattered.

Gang Ya immediately cut off that part of his pheromones, retreating without hesitation and reabsorbing the waves back into himself.

“Where is he?” Jiang Wan asked.

Gang Ya pointed out the direction to Du Yanjing while discreetly rubbing the back of his neck.

Ouch, he thought. How could such a newly-matured Alpha manage to injure him?

The headlights of the Maybach pierced through the thick darkness of the alley, and Jiang Wan squinted as he saw the young Alpha standing with his back to him, shoulders slightly hunched.

He stepped out of the car and walked toward Dou Ming, his bare feet absorbing the cold, sharp wind carrying the scent of cedar. He stopped just a step behind the Alpha.

Casually, Jiang Wan let out his Omega pheromones. As the early summer sunlight hit Dou Ming’s shoulders, the sweet scent of plums melded with the harsh cedar, warming and moistening the air.

Dou Ming remained silent, but the turbulent cold wind swirling around the alley finally calmed down.

Jiang Wan cautiously stepped to his side, only then noticing the group of defeated Alphas lying on the ground. Che Chenying, who had looked like a proud peacock earlier in the day, was now sitting against the wall, hugging his knees and trembling all over.

Wow, this is pretty rough, Jiang Wan thought, offering a polite ounce of sympathy before turning to Dou Ming. Seeing that Dou Ming wasn’t injured or in a frenzy, he felt a sense of relief.

“You’re really good at fighting,” Jiang Wan couldn’t help but coo, his nerves relaxing as he reverted to his habit of acting cute, his eyes filled with admiration as he gazed at Dou Ming.

Dou Ming straightened up. “You’re here?”

Jiang Wan nodded enthusiastically. “Mm-hmm.”

“Good timing. No need to wait until tomorrow,” Dou Ming said, turning to Che Chenying, who was still sitting against the wall. “Apologize to him for your recklessness.”

Che Chenying shuddered under Dou Ming’s gaze and looked up at Jiang Wan with tear-filled eyes. “QAQ”

The once-proud rose now drooped miserably. Jiang Wan, of course, didn’t plan to hold a grudge against a kid’s careless mistake. “It’s okay.”

Che Chenying, moved to tears, glanced between the fierce Alpha and the gentle Omega. In comparison, Jiang Wan looked like an angel of mercy.

“S-sorry,” Che Chenying stammered with a sob, his apology sincere. “I won’t touch your gland again.”

He was thankful he was an Omega and thus protected by the law, which prevented Alphas from using violence against him. Had he been a Beta or another Alpha, Dou Ming probably would’ve beaten him to death for “sexual harassment.”

Looking at his friends lying battered on the ground, Che Chenying felt like crying. This is so unfair, sob sob sob.

Jiang Wan nodded, then looked at the Alphas lying on the ground, pretending to be unconscious. “Aren’t you going to escort him home? It’s late—his family must be worried.”

Like a decree from the empress, the previously motionless Alphas immediately sprang to life and ran off, not forgetting to drag along the weak-kneed Omega who could barely walk.

“?” Che Chenying was carried away by two Alphas, his mind in chaos. Wait, I thought we were dead for sure!

Jiang Wan cheerfully waved them off, and once the group had disappeared, he turned to Dou Ming, his voice sweet and grateful. “You’ve done so much for me.” Surely, Dou Ming must really like him, even if he didn’t show it on his face.

I mean, Dou Ming fought a 1v5 for me while I was resting at home—if that’s not love, what is?

Jiang Wan’s ego swelled, convinced he was radiating an aura that screamed “I’m the cutest in the world.”

“You,” Dou Ming finally spoke again, making Jiang Wan perk up his ears, only to hear the one question he dreaded most: “How did you know I was here?”

Jiang Wan: “…”

Alpha pheromones swirled around him like tendrils, gently encircling his body, as if ready to wrap him up at any moment.

Dou Ming asked calmly, “Why aren’t you answering?”

Jiang Wan: “…”

The two locked eyes in silence. Under the car’s headlights, Jiang Wan’s face was pale, while Dou Ming’s gaze was deep and unfathomable.

Am I about to get exposed?

Jiang Wan’s heart pounded in his chest, terrified that Dou Ming might suddenly turn around and drag Du Yanjing and Gang Ya out of the car to make him, the so-called “Boss Jiang” fulfill his sugar daddy duties right then and there.

Things are moving too fast—I’m not ready for that yet.

As Jiang Wan racked his brain for a solution, Dou Ming posed another question: “Why didn’t you experience a shock when I held you?”

Without thinking, Jiang Wan blurted out, “Because it’s you.”

His cleanliness obsession was a type of obsessive-compulsive disorder, largely dependent on his subconscious mind. In most cases, as long as he was at peace, his symptoms wouldn’t be too severe.

What Jiang Wan meant was: Your scent is so pleasant, of course I wouldn’t get nervous and have a breakdown.

But Dou Ming seemed to misunderstand. The usually stern Alpha’s lips curled up ever so slightly.

“You’ll meet plenty of Alphas who match your pheromones well. I won’t be the only one.” Dou Ming’s smile faded quickly. He reined in his pheromones and, glancing at Jiang Wan’s little monster pajamas, gently warned, “Stay away from me in the future. I’ll bring you a lot of danger.”

Jiang Wan wasn’t sure how he managed to pass this test, but Dou Ming let him off the hook, skipping over the tricky questions. Not one to invite trouble, Jiang Wan flashed a sweet smile and agreed, “Of course, many people like exceptional individuals.”

Dou Ming shook his head, remembering Gang Ya’s warning echoing in his ears. From now on, he and Jiang Wan wouldn’t even maintain the relationship of normal classmates.

Jiang Wan: “…” He felt like he had figured something out.

Guiltily, he wondered if Gang Ya’s words had been too harsh, scaring Dou Ming off.

Dou Ming turned and looked toward the Maybach.

Jiang Wan: “!!!”

Oh no, Dou Ming knows Gang Ya and Du Yanjing! Am I going to get exposed?

Nervously, Jiang Wan turned his head too, shielding his eyes from the blinding headlights and seeing the two figures inside the car.

One was a curly-haired man with a big beard, wearing sunglasses at night, looking like a weirdo. The other had long, straight hair like a ghost, with three pounds of white powder on his face and purple eyeshadow and green lipstick smeared across his mouth.

Jiang Wan’s face twisted in horror: Who the heck are you two?!

Dou Ming was momentarily stunned as well but remained respectful toward others. “You should take the car home. Don’t keep your parents waiting,” he said to Jiang Wan.
