FSO Chapter 2

Jiang Wan took a deep breath and told himself, That little brat Dou Ming is just going through his rebellious phase, acting all aloof while his body is being completely honest. He’s definitely trying to stand out and get my attention.

In moments like these, the best strategy is to not give him a single glance!

Ha! Jiang Wan sneered inwardly, his eyes full of wisdom that seemed to see through everything. He raised his head high in pride, not sparing Dou Ming another look.

The homeroom teacher quietly observed Jiang Wan’s reaction and inwardly gasped in horror.

Dou Ming, Dou Ming, you usually seem so well-behaved. What’s gotten into you today?

Do you even realize who this Omega is?

If you could just latch onto this opportunity, you’d be set for life, cutting down at least ten years of hard work!

With a sigh over how young and clueless Dou Ming was, the teacher cleared his throat and said, “Alright, everyone, return to your seats and start the morning self-study.”

With the windows wide open, the sweet plum scent of the Omega’s pheromones gradually dissipated in the breeze, leaving behind only a faint trace of sweetness in the air.

At that moment, Zhou Kui finally returned from the restroom. Smelling the lingering faint fragrance, he let out a relieved breath.

After sitting down and hiding behind a book, he whispered to his deskmate, “Ming Ming, you opened the window, didn’t you?”

Dou Ming’s face remained impassive, but the icy tone in his voice betrayed his true feelings, “Don’t call me by a nickname.”

Zhou Kui chuckled. “Come on, Ming Ming, couldn’t handle it, huh?”

Dou Ming: “…”

Zhou Kui, already used to Dou Ming’s coldness, continued talking to himself, “I mean, an Omega just fell from the sky into our class! Let’s be fair about it—we’ll compete equally, yeah?”

Dou Ming glanced at Zhou Kui. “Compete?” His gaze briefly flickered to the Omega, who immediately blushed, biting his lip and lowering his head. Dou Ming frowned slightly and then looked away.

Zhou Kui, taking his response as an agreement, said matter-of-factly, “Of course. We’re the only two Alphas in the class, so it’s only natural we’ll compete.”

Dou Ming said, “I thought you didn’t like Omegas.”

Zhou Kui laughed at himself, “Yeah, right. That’s just sour grapes. What Alpha in the world doesn’t love an Omega? It’s like saying dogs don’t eat bones.”

Dou Ming didn’t seem to appreciate being compared to a dog. “If you want to chase him, go ahead. Leave me out of it.”

Zhou Kui looked at him in surprise. “You’re seriously not going to try?”

Dou Ming shook his head and pointed at his book, fully immersing himself in his studies without answering Zhou Kui’s question. He had no interest in pursuing an Omega, considering them to be delicate, needy creatures—far too much trouble.

And Dou Ming hated trouble.

Meanwhile, Jiang Wan kept his eyes focused on his textbook, though he was practically straining his ears to hear what the two Alphas were whispering about next to him.

Even though their voices were muffled by the surrounding sounds of morning reading, Jiang Wan could still catch a few snippets.

Something about competition, chasing him…

A slight smile tugged at Jiang Wan’s lips. As expected, Alphas are arrogant and possessive creatures. How could they ever escape the palm of my hand?

Soon enough, Dou Ming and Zhou Kui would be fighting to win him over. Should he toy with Zhou Kui a little to put pressure on Dou Ming?

In his mind, Jiang Wan pictured Dou Ming pushing him against a wall, eyes red as he demanded to know, Who will you choose—me or Zhou Kui?

His ears grew hot, and his body started to feel flushed at the thought.

He could almost imagine the scene where he’d push a sobbing Dou Ming to the ground and take control himself.

Biting his lip, Jiang Wan curled in on himself, trying to calm the stirring pheromones inside him.

Get a grip, Jiang Wan!

Just then, the sharp sound of the bell signaling the end of class jolted him awake. He looked up to see the math teacher glaring at him in frustration before announcing wearily, “We’ll stop here for today. Everyone, go grab lunch.”

Jiang Wan: “…”

The 25-year-old high schooler suddenly realized that he had unintentionally slept through the entire morning. After a brief moment of false guilt, he casually started surveying his surroundings.

The other students were leaving the classroom in groups, while the two Alphas next to him seemed to still be talking.

Jiang Wan perked up his ears, but he couldn’t make out anything.

Suddenly, both Alphas stood up, and Jiang Wan quickly lowered his head, pretending to organize his books.

A minty scent approached him.

Jiang Wan sighed inwardly.

Dou Ming smells like cedar, so this must be Zhou Kui.

Zhou Kui’s shadow loomed over Jiang Wan for a long moment without saying a word, forcing Jiang Wan to look up. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Dou Ming tidying up his bag.

Zhou Kui’s face turned bright red. “Jiang, Jiang, Jiang…”

Suppressing his urge to walk straight over to Dou Ming, Jiang Wan forced a patient smile and asked sweetly, “Zhou Kui, what is it?”

The Omega remembered his name!

Blushing furiously, Zhou Kui gulped. “I-I was wondering if you wanted to… go, uh, go eat… lunch together?”

He shut his eyes tightly and blurted out the last part, his spit flying in his excitement.

Jiang Wan silently watched a drop of Zhou Kui’s saliva land on the back of the chair in front of him.

Jiang Wan: “…”

Ahhh! He just spit on me! Is he a pig? Did he really just spit while talking to me?!

Keeping his face stiff, Jiang Wan pulled out a wet tissue and quickly covered the offending drop with it.

Zhou Kui, not hearing an immediate response, opened his eyes, his face still flushed. “Jiang, Jiang, you… you don’t want to?”

Of course I don’t! This Alpha spits when he talks! What if he sprays food everywhere when we eat together?!

Jiang Wan was just about to refuse when he caught sight of Dou Ming standing up with his bag, walking straight out of the classroom without so much as a glance back at him.

Jiang Wan froze. Dou Ming wasn’t coming to invite him to lunch? Wasn’t he supposed to be competing with Zhou Kui?

It only took 0.1 seconds for Jiang Wan’s sharp brain to figure it out: Dou Ming must be trying to get my attention by playing hard to get!

Yes, that had to be it. He was pretending to be aloof, making Zhou Kui look like a complete fool, while raising his own cool, distant image.

Ah, what a smart Alpha I’ve set my sights on.

With that thought, Jiang Wan gave Zhou Kui a sweet smile. “Of course I want to! Why wouldn’t I?”

Exactly! The more indifferent Dou Ming acts, the more I need to go along with Zhou Kui’s invitation.

Dou Ming, are you feeling frustrated now? Is the Omega really choosing that pighead Zhou Kui over cool and handsome me?

Confident in his strategy, Jiang Wan was sure Dou Ming would come running back any second, begging to have lunch together.

But in the next moment, Dou Ming walked out of the classroom without a single backward glance.

Jiang Wan: “…”

Zhou Kui, on the other hand, was grinning ear to ear. Wow, that went way smoother than expected! Does this mean the Omega is interested in me, too? I mean, I am pretty tall and handsome after all!

Jiang Wan had no idea about Zhou Kui’s inner thoughts. He was too shocked that Dou Ming hadn’t spared him even a single glance.

No way… How could it be possible?

With my looks, how could an Alpha be completely unfazed?!

Fine, Dou Ming. You’ve got my full attention now.

Jiang Wan coldly thought to himself. He wasn’t leaving this school until he’d won Dou Ming over.

At first, it was just a game. Now, he not only wanted Dou Ming’s body—he wanted his heart, too.

“Jiang~” Zhou Kui interrupted Jiang Wan’s thoughts. “Shall we go now?” The nearly 1.9-meter-tall Alpha was practically glowing with pink bubbles, his eyes constantly darting to Jiang Wan’s hand.

Their progress was so fast. Could it be that they’d hold hands soon? Ah~ The Omega’s soft, fragrant little hand…

While Zhou Kui was lost in his daydreams, Jiang Wan realized Dou Ming had indeed left and wasn’t coming back. He dropped the sugary smile and said flatly, “I need to take a dump.”

Zhou Kui: “…?” He blinked, thinking his sharp Alpha hearing must have malfunctioned. “What did you just say…?”

“Take a dump.” Jiang Wan stood up, grabbed a pack of tissues, and pushed past Zhou Kui. “Move aside, I need to go to the bathroom.”

Zhou Kui: “…” The pink bubbles around him shattered into pieces.

Omegas poop too?! he thought, shocked, his expression desolate. Weakly, he said, “I-I’ll wait for you to finish.”

Jiang Wan waved dismissively without looking back.

Zhou Kui stared at his retreating hand, filled with sorrow. That soft, fragrant little Omega hand… is about to wipe… poop…
