⌈Weekend update: 0/2⌋
The air was hot and filled with fragrance.
This fragrance was unlike any he had smelled before. It wasn’t a rich floral scent but stronger than alcohol.
Just from the scent, Li ZouXing could imagine the current state of the person beneath him.
The guy beneath him didn’t make a sound. Even while being kissed, he dared not reveal his identity.
Li ZouXing stifled a laugh, and the laughter even escaped his lips.
When he woke up and saw a figure standing there, calling out “Wasser” was just a probe. He hadn’t expected to reap such a reward.
His long-held suspicions were now confirmed, and his perception of Wasser became more intriguing.
This fragrance, this face, this figure.
Because he wore a mask, he dared to set himself free?
Li ZouXing moved away from his lips and said in a serious tone, “Such soft lips. The rumor about Wasser being a woman, could it be true?”
His tone carried a hint of laughter, and anyone calm enough would easily realize he was joking.
But Gu WenCheng, at this moment, didn’t realize it.
His pupils contracted, and he stared at Li ZouXing blankly, his mouth agape.
The sensation of their lips still lingered, dry and firmly pressed together, without a sliver of space between them.
He hadn’t yet regained his composure from the shock when this sentence made him catch his breath in exasperation.
Damn it!
Gu WenCheng gritted his teeth.
How many times was this? How many times after their intimate encounters had he steered the conversation towards women?!
“You—”
“Stop talking,” Li ZouXing interrupted him, blowing a breath onto his lips. “Sacrificing my first kiss just to touch your face, Wasser, I’ve truly sacrificed a lot for you.”
“First kiss?”
Gu WenCheng repeated these two words with a mix of sarcasm and coldness.
Great, just great. From this guy’s perspective, this is the real first kiss.
The one with Wasser was the first kiss, and the one with Gu WenCheng could be forgotten easily.
Suppressing all kinds of strange emotions, Gu WenCheng spoke with Wasser’s elegant tone, “I heard you’ve forgotten some things.”
“Even if I forget a lot,” Li ZouXing lowered his voice, his tone seductive, “I won’t forget your face again.”
Yet Wasser, whom he held captive, didn’t seem to find any joy in it.
“Hmm? Why?” Gu WenCheng’s tone was calm, like the calm before a storm. “Because I might be a woman?”
As the word “woman” was spoken, the fragrance suddenly deepened, and a subtle shift occurred.
He was angry.
Li ZouXing felt like he was being too wicked. Instead of giving a direct answer, he chose to be even more vague, saying, “Even more so because you’re a star thief.”
“A star thief,” Gu WenCheng chuckled coldly. “You really love to joke. If I weren’t a woman, would you still have touched me with your lips?”
“For the Empire’s sake,” Li ZouXing moved slightly away from him, his gaze focused intently, yet no matter how concentrated he was, he couldn’t see his expression beneath the thin fabric and darkness. “But I believe the renowned star thief Wasser is indeed a true man, Mr. Wasser, am I right?”
Gu WenCheng remained silent.
After the “Li ZouXing kissed him because Wasser is a woman” incident, another reason that made his heart, liver, and lungs ache with anger emerged.
“For the Empire’s sake, even if it means kissing a man, one needs to know what Wasser looks like.”
“My eyes are starting to hurt a bit,” Li ZouXing thought for a moment, then slowly released the hand that was suppressing Wasser. He kept his legs pressing on either side of Wasser’s waist, ensuring he couldn’t escape easily. “If you don’t run, I won’t remove the blindfold. How about a chat?”
Unexpectedly, Gu WenCheng coldly remarked, “It seems you’re not very concerned about your friend.”
Li ZouXing hesitated for a moment, then quickly continued, “Of course, I’m worried about him.”
Two seconds of hesitation.
Two seconds that Gu WenCheng perceptively seized upon.
Because of the existence of the star thief Wasser, this person had completely forgotten about Gu WenCheng.
Li ZouXing twitched his nostrils, but the fragrance in the air suddenly disappeared.
Before he could understand what was happening, a crisp sound of something falling came from the door. He instinctively looked towards the door, and the person beneath him took advantage of the moment to overturn him and disappeared without a trace.
Li ZouXing stood up and remained motionless in place.
He didn’t remove the fabric from his eyes until the darkness of the room was dispelled by the light.
Gu WenCheng’s voice sounded, a mix of surprise and curiosity, “ZouXing?”
Not sure if it was his imagination, Li ZouXing could almost taste the bitterness in Gu WenCheng’s voice as he spoke those two words.
He couldn’t help but smile, reaching up to undo the fabric, and in the next instant, as the light flooded back in, he looked towards the window.
It was a perfect response to Gu WenCheng’s act.
But Gu WenCheng just wanted to sneer.
A military academy student, smiling as he took off a blindfold put on by a star thief, and then immediately looked towards the window where the star thief was most likely to escape.
Was this the attitude a military academy student should have towards a star thief?
And in the previous encounters, Li ZouXing’s attitude towards Wasser, the star thief, had been quite unpleasant. Why had it suddenly changed?
Just because of the rumor that Wasser was a woman?
What an idiot!
He cursed inwardly, keeping his expression as calm as ever. “Why are you standing there? Can’t sleep?”
“Very tired,” Li ZouXing shook his head, saying nothing more as he naturally walked to the bedside, “Going to sleep.”
Just now, he had told Wasser they could chat, but now, in response to Gu WenCheng’s question, he claimed to be tired.
Gu WenCheng walked to the side of his bed, looking down at him from above.
Li ZouXing was puzzled, “What’s up?”
“Let’s have a fight,” Gu WenCheng said, “Get up, let’s fight.”
He didn’t wait for Li ZouXing’s response, yanking him up by his collar and dragging him to the center of the room, throwing a punch first.
…
The following day, when Li ZouXing came downstairs, his appearance startled everyone.
“What happened to you?” Ji Yu pointed at his left eye, his eye twitching, “…Who beat you up?”
“Accident,” Li ZouXing touched his eye, wincing, “They were pretty ruthless.”
Gu WenCheng glanced at him from the side, holding back a chuckle.
Ruthless?
He gave him a beating, and he ended up bleeding too. Without NK-03’s effects, it would be hard to tell who looked worse between him and Li ZouXing.
“But it was kind of fun,” Li ZouXing nudged Gu WenCheng’s shoulder, “Isn’t it satisfying to go all out in a fight?”
Gu WenCheng nodded half-heartedly.
Last night, they had clashed like two hungry beasts, tearing at each other until submission. Unfortunately, it ended in a draw, both of them worse for wear, and neither gaining an advantage.
But fortunately, Gu WenCheng was somewhat relieved. At least he hadn’t exposed himself.
After breakfast, they headed in the direction of the spaceship.
Once they were in line and on the ship, a rather convenient coincidence occurred. Just as they were entering the ship, a communication from Sophia, who honestly returned to the academy, came in. She had probably wanted to check on their situation, but upon seeing the background, she was taken aback. “You’re on a spacecraft?!”
Her expression was filled with doubt, causing the group of somewhat bedraggled youngsters to burst into laughter.
“We’ve really had our fair share of trouble,” they complained, one after another. “Seriously, Teacher, you have no idea what we’ve been through.”
In the end, Sophia had gone on a wasted trip. Before she even reached the academy, Li ZouXing had already recovered.
After they finished recounting the events, Sophia’s expression became complex, and she sighed deeply. “Poor kids, I think next time… you better not go out.”
It seemed like they were cursed or something, always encountering all sorts of situations. Most people wouldn’t even visit two different planets in a year, but they had been to at least five in their past two missions.
People wouldn’t believe it if they said it out loud, and some might even think that the Chengyang Military Academy was giving them incredibly difficult tasks.
The Dream Team exchanged colorful expressions, glancing at each other and bursting into laughter.
Despite their bad luck, even Ji Yu, who had sustained the most injuries this time, found it somewhat amusing.
It was like a kind of destiny, where they always ended up in extraordinary situations. But luckily, they had all come to accept it.
At least, they gained more from their experiences than they lost.
After inquiring about their upcoming plans, Sophia smiled and nodded. Her gaze lingered on Gu WenCheng for a while, and she playfully said, “Little heroes, did this adventure bring you an unforgettable love story?”
A few of them shook their heads. With the information they wanted in hand, Sophia’s smile became even more charming as she joyfully ended the communication.
The course of this spaceship was different from the one to Tiran. It was at least twice as fast. By afternoon, they had already reached White Star Sea. However, the mermaid’s dwelling place was still a hundred and eighty thousand miles away. They directly rented a small flying craft and headed back to the place they had left earlier.
“I killed someone,” Li ZouXing suddenly said as they approached their destination. “He was part of the team that stole energy crystals.”
“He’s also the one who injured me…” Ji Yu added in a quiet voice, looking at Li ZouXing with concern.
Gu WenCheng turned to look at him.
Li ZouXing sighed, his face clearly expressing a need for reassurance. “I should have handed him over to the military, or maybe the guards, and if all else fails, I can have him escorted back to the school.”
Teammates, one by one, offered their comfort. After all, in that kind of situation, if it were any one of them instead of Li ZouXing, they wouldn’t spare that person’s life either.
“Being a military academy student qualifies you to administer this kind of punishment to wrongdoers,” Gu WenCheng clicked his tongue, “Are you scared because you killed someone?”
“What’s there to be afraid of?” the young man looked up at him, not a hint of timidity on his face. On the contrary, he seemed eager for action, fearless. Li ZouXing joked, “Am I afraid I’m too strong, and those wanted criminals would have their eyes on me, or am I afraid I might bring utter disaster upon them?”
Gu WenCheng… Gu WenCheng unexpectedly found, damn it, that Li ZouXing saying this sentence made him look kind of cool.
