FD Chapter 21

Sharing

Ming Shao felt like something was different today.

Could it really be like the stylist said, that gray suits are popular?

He discreetly glanced at himself in the car window, adjusted his tie, and stood even straighter.

Where’s Shen Luo? He should be able to see me, right?

Would Shen Luo like it?

Ming Shao didn’t check his phone, so he didn’t notice that the red exclamation mark in front of the green chat box had disappeared.

The Alpha moved to a noticeable spot, ensuring that as soon as Shen Luo walked out of the company, he would see him immediately.

Sure enough, Shen Luo came out.

The assistant was walking beside Shen Luo, glancing at Ming Shao with hesitation, as if wanting to say something but holding back.

Unfortunately, the Alpha’s attention was entirely on Shen Luo, completely oblivious to anything else.

Ming Shao, rarely feeling nervous, straightened his back even more, his movements a bit stiff. “Long time no see.”

“I—” The words got caught in his throat as Ming Shao remembered a rainy day when he tried to pick someone up “by the way,” which ended unpleasantly. He paused and then corrected himself, “I specifically came to wait for you.”

“Is there something you need?” Shen Luo responded to Ming Shao’s words, but his eyes were on the assistant, who handed him a file before quickly excusing himself. As he left, the assistant gave Ming Shao a look that seemed to say, “Good luck.”

Ming Shao: ???

Something felt off.

But in the next moment, Shen Luo turned to face Ming Shao, and their eyes met.

Ming Shao’s mind went blank. His thoughts twisted and turned, leaving only one thing: Shen Luo.

Shen Luo is looking at me!

Shen Luo is finally looking at me!

Unconsciously, Ming Shao even began to breathe more softly.

Their reunion felt like a dream, and Ming Shao didn’t dare blink, afraid that this was just a fragile bubble.

Bubbles burst, scattering in the wind, disappearing when the dream ends.

Lately, Ming Shao found himself tearing up more frequently.

Maybe his eyes were sick. Whenever he saw Shen Luo, he was transported back to that rainy night when Shen Luo left, the misty, watery night.

“Is there something you need?” Shen Luo spoke again, pulling Ming Shao back to reality.

“No, nothing.” But clearly, Ming Shao hadn’t yet recovered from the complex emotions of seeing Shen Luo again.

Shen Luo raised an eyebrow and started to put the file away. “Then I’ll be going.”

“Ah? Oh… no, wait, I do have something!” Ming Shao snapped back to reality at the word “going,” his words stumbling over each other in his haste, revealing his nervousness.

Shen Luo looked at Ming Shao, waiting for him to continue.

What could Ming Shao say? He was just here to pick Shen Luo up from work and take him home, like when they used to live together.

He just wanted to take Shen Luo home.

But Shen Luo had mentioned before that he didn’t want to go back.

With that thought, the Alpha lowered his eyes. “I just… well…”

Ming Shao couldn’t think of an excuse.

“Hmm?” Shen Luo prompted.

“Well, you remember Dong Dong, right?” Ming Shao suddenly thought of an excuse, gesturing as he spoke, finally finding his rhythm. “The cat that lives next door. Recently, it learned to do backflips. Do you want to see it?”

Shen Luo: ???

Scratching his head, Ming Shao found his groove and kept talking. “But Dong Dong is really naughty. It used to only listen to you when it came to our house. This morning, it even knocked over my coffee, ruining some documents.”

He didn’t specify what documents, unwilling to say those two words or acknowledge them.

But Shen Luo knew. The picture Ming Shao had asked the assistant to send him clearly showed the mess the cat had made.

Ming Shao looked at Shen Luo. Without waiting for Shen Luo to make a move, he instinctively opened the passenger door for him, even thoughtfully adjusting the seat.

Shen Luo watched Ming Shao’s actions, remembering the time he came back and accidentally saw Ming Shao waiting downstairs at his office.

That time, Ming Shao hadn’t waited for him but still opened the car door on his own.

Shen Luo closed his eyes briefly and then got into the car.

Turning around and merging into traffic, after months, Shen Luo was once again in Ming Shao’s car.

But unlike the rainy day before, this time, Shen Luo was sitting in the passenger seat.

And this time, Ming Shao didn’t say it was on the way; he said he came specifically to wait for him.

“There’s a bit of traffic, but we’ll be home soon.” The return journey was also congested. The car was quiet, and Ming Shao broke the silence.

“Mm,” Shen Luo responded. “I’ll go back and pack up my things.”

Ming Shao’s grip tightened on the steering wheel. He didn’t respond to Shen Luo’s words and instead changed the topic.

“The evergreen tree at the entrance broke before. I planted a new one. It’s a new variety that stays green all year round.”

“Really?” Shen Luo looked out the window, thinking of a story he had read before, where someone wrote their feelings on an evergreen leaf and let go of them when the leaves turned yellow.

“I learned some gardening from Uncle Wu. I know how to take care of the tree now.” Ming Shao replied.

“I’m learning to pick up someone I want to take home after work.”

Shen Luo didn’t respond.

Ming Shao continued talking to himself. “I learned how to share. I even shared the sunset clouds with you.”

As if to prove his point, the Alpha shook his phone.

This time, Shen Luo did respond, looking at Ming Shao. “Yes, you’re very good at sharing.”

Hearing that Shen Luo didn’t deny it, Ming Shao’s eyes lit up, like a dog following its master’s command, with his tail almost wagging.

But then Shen Luo added, “You’re very good, indeed, so much so that you shared it with everyone in our department.”

Shen Luo thought about the awkward but polite smiles from everyone in his department and couldn’t help gritting his teeth. The phone case in his hand was almost deformed from the pressure.

Ming Shao: “Huh?”

“I was in a meeting and casting my screen.”

Ming Shao: !!!

The car pulled over to the side of the road, and the Alpha’s eyes couldn’t help but drift toward Shen Luo.

The divorce agreement was tossed between them with a “thud.” Shen Luo smiled at Ming Shao. “Mr. Ming, you do remember that I came back to finalize the divorce, right?”

“You don’t need to tell me what you’ve learned. Besides, Mr. Ming, I think—”

“The sunset clouds really aren’t that pretty.”
