FC Chapter 55

In the city of Zhongchuan, at Weishan Airport’s T2 terminal exit, a man in a suit with a tie, wearing polished leather shoes, dragged his suitcase towards the exit. Song Qinchuan stopped in his tracks, took off his glasses, wiped them, and put them back on. Over the past two years, he had maintained the appearance of a delicate scholar, clean-shaven with a fair chin exposed, neatly ironed shirt, and a subtle fragrance of ocean perfume surrounding him.

“Mr. Song.” The person there to pick him up was arranged by Lu Qingqiong, appearing to be around the same age as Song Qinchuan. “My last name is Huang.”

“Mr. Huang.” Song Qinchuan nodded. “You’re a friend of Fengya, right?”

“Yes, childhood friends.” Huang Zili walked alongside Song Qinchuan out of the airport. “I heard from Uncle Lu that you specifically came to attend Mr. Liu’s gathering?”

“No.” Song Qinchuan shook his head. “I have other matters, but Mr. Liu?”

“The wealthiest man in Zhongchuan, with a listed company.” Huang Zili said. “His daughter, Liu Wei, is engaged.”

“Engaged to whom?” Song Qinchuan asked.

“To a relatively unknown psychologist.” Huang Zili said. “I’ve met him a couple of times. Gentle temperament, seems to be tightly controlled by Liu Wei.”

“Do you not approve of him?” Song Qinchuan inquired with interest.

Huang Zili shook his head. “It’s not up to me to approve or disapprove. I just feel he’s not worthy. Liu Wei has a strong personality. A few years ago, she quarreled with her father, almost wanting to overturn the house. Unexpectedly, she fell for this soft guy. In terms of age, the little guy looks three or four years younger than her.”

“Sounds interesting. I don’t have anything to do today; let’s find a restaurant and chat slowly?” Song Qinchuan smiled friendly.

“Sure, my task today is to entertain you. If I don’t do well, Uncle Lu will skin me alive.” Huang Zili said. He pressed the car key, and a black Range Rover, illuminated in the parking lot about three to four hundred meters away, lit up. “I’ve reserved a table. A couple of drinks, and we can chat leisurely.”

“Alright.” Song Qinchuan got into the car, fastened his seatbelt, and asked, “When is Mr. Liu’s gathering? I’m quite interested.”

“About a week later.” Huang Zili drove the car out of the parking lot and onto the elevated bridge. “Why, Mr. Song, do you want to go and take a look?”

“No, I should be in Linhua a week later.” Song Qinchuan declined. “How many children does Mr. Liu have?”

“Three. The eldest is a daughter, the second son is a teacher, and the youngest son passed away five or six years ago.” Huang Zili said. “At that time, it angered Mr. Liu quite a bit.”

“I heard from Fengya that the youngest son died of illness?” Song Qinchuan asked.

“That’s what was said publicly.” Huang Zili said. “But think about it, if he died of illness, would Mr. Liu be so angry?”

“True.” Song Qinchuan nodded in agreement. “Are you attending the banquet in a few days?”

“Yes.” Huang Zili turned the steering wheel, exiting the elevated bridge. “Song, do you like spicy food?”

“Yes.” Song Qinchuan answered. “I enjoy it spicy.”

“That’s good. I’ve booked Sichuan cuisine.” Huang Zili parked the car on the side of the road. “A small restaurant, I often come to this place.”

“Good dishes aren’t dependent on appearances.” Song Qinchuan said. He opened the door, got out of the car, and walked into the restaurant. Huang Zili came to the front desk and said, “I’ve reserved a private room, surname Huang.”

“Alright, follow me, everyone.” The waiter opened the innermost private room in the corridor. “Please come in.”

Huang Zili and Song Qinchuan entered, found a seat, and Huang Zili ordered two bottles of wine. It seemed he intended to give Song Qinchuan a comprehensive understanding of the current situation in Zhongchuan.

In the Psychological Counseling Room of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhuchuan Medical University.

A woman with a cold expression sat on the sofa. Facing her, a male doctor said helplessly and gently, “We agreed before that you couldn’t be my patient.”

“Why not?” Liu Wei said. “I think you’re the best.”

“Psychologists can’t develop relationships with their patients.” The doctor sighed. “Since we’re engaged, you better go shopping to choose your dress.”

“Fanzhe, how can you be so gentle?” Liu Wei pinched the doctor’s chin, smiling with raised eyes. “Alright, I’ll let you bring in your next patient.”

“Uh-huh, good girl.” Fanzhe patted Liu Wei’s shoulder soothingly. “Wait for me at home.”

“Okay, my little fiancé.” Liu Wei kissed the corner of Fanzhe’s lips, picked up her bag, and walked out of the office.

As the door closed, a chilly look flashed in Fanzhe’s eyes. He calmly wiped his forehead and the corner of his lips, then stood up and walked into the restroom to wash his face. After cleaning up, he opened the door to welcome the next patient.

“Liu Wei’s fiancé is named Fanzhe?” Song Qinchuan said. “Quite an interesting name.”

“Young psychologist.” Huang Zili picked up a piece of chicken. “Very handsome. I heard he has the most female patients.”

“You can tell from the photos.” Song Qinchuan nodded.”

“Hmm, Mr. Song isn’t bad either,” Huang Zili teased, “You can compete with Fanzhe and see who is more popular.”

“Mr. Huang, you’re thinking too much.” Song Qinchuan chuckled. “I don’t know if Fengya told you, but I like men.”

“What?!” Huang Zili almost choked on a chicken bone. “What?”

Song Qinchuan pretended to be embarrassed and smiled, “This Mr. Fanzhe’s appearance intrigues me. If he does anything improper at the banquet that irritates Mr. Liu, you have to help me get him.”

“How can I help?” Huang Zili put down his chopsticks, afraid that Song Qinchuan would say something shocking again.

“Play it by ear.” Song Qinchuan handed over his phone. “Take down my phone number. Send me a text when the time comes.”

“What if he impresses Mr. Liu?” Huang Zili asked.

“Then I’ll congratulate them.” Song Qinchuan smiled strangely.

“…You’re not planning to go snatch the bride, are you?” Huang Zili asked.

Song Qinchuan choked on his tea, putting down the teacup. “Why would I go snatch the bride?”

“You said you’re interested in Fanzhe.” Huang Zili said.

“I said I’m interested in Fanzhe’s appearance.” Song Qinchuan said. “Just his appearance, and am I a bandit? Do I have to snatch someone else’s wife?”

“Fair enough.” Huang Zili nodded. “Let’s eat, let’s eat.”

Fanzhe was accustomed to having a pen tucked in the pocket on his shirt’s chest, giving him an especially gentle and quiet appearance.

His semi-long hair was tucked behind his ears, dyed in a chestnut-brown color, and a pair of plain glasses perched on his nose. When he smiled, it was like a gentle breeze brushing over his cheeks, incredibly tender.

“Dr. Fanzhe.” A female doctor hurriedly pushed open the door. “I’m really sorry, I have an urgent matter this afternoon and can’t be on duty. Can you cover for me? I’ll cover for you tomorrow.”

“Sure, if it’s urgent, go ahead.” Fanzhe said.

“Okay, thank you.” The female doctor closed the door and left.

Fanzhe took off his coat, revealing a shirt, and sat back in his chair. He took out the pen from the pocket on his chest, carefully unscrewed the cap, revealing a miniature transmitter embedded on the top. He took a small oscilloscope in his right hand, focusing intently on the waveform readings.
