FCRCG Chapter 68

Extra 1: Daily Life Together

I forgot to mention in ch. 67 that it was the end of the main text ^^’. Chapters 68-71 will be the extras.

The whereabouts of the three gods were unknown even to the Elder Weng Ping Ran.

The Inner Court issued an order that if anyone outside were fortunate enough to encounter them, they must not disturb them, nor reveal it to anyone, acting as if they had seen nothing.

Peace was restored everywhere, and it seemed everything had returned to normal.

However, Weng Ping Ran still couldn’t completely put his mind at ease, fearing that their judgment might be wrong. What if Lian Yi’s condition was still unstable?

So he quietly asked Lin Jiu if he knew where Nan Deng and the others were.

Lin Jiu shook his head and said that he had also reminded Nan Deng to pay more attention to Lian Yi’s condition and that the rabbit head was by his side.

“Everything will be fine,” Lin Jiu said. “Teacher has been very tired lately and should take a good rest.”

Weng Ping Ran sighed, “I would like to rest too.”

Now, there was only him left as an elder in the Inner Court. Lin Jiu couldn’t be promoted twice in a short period. They had to quickly select more suitable candidates.

Fortunately, since Nan Deng’s arrival, everything has improved. Just a few days ago, they recruited a new group of talented children.

After saying this, he hurriedly left, and Lin Jiu took out his communicator.

The communication log stopped half a month ago. During this time, Nan Deng should have been quite relaxed.

Although he said he wanted to travel around, after leaving the Inner Court, Nan Deng first returned to the place where he initially met Lian Yi.

The spirit creatures, Hei Mao and Ren Shi, were here. Nan Deng hadn’t seen them for a long time and wanted to come back to see them.

Moreover, Lian Yi rented a new house in the suburbs, arranging everything according to Nan Deng’s preferences.

The bedroom and living room were in the same style as before. One side of the balcony was planted with many flowers, while the other side had three nests, one each for Hei Mao, Ren Shi, and the rabbit head.

During the day, when Hei Mao rested, it often came to sleep here, almost treating the balcony as its own home. Ren Shi also visited when it had free time.

However, the rabbit head didn’t like basking in the sun or the evening breeze on the balcony. It had a nest purely because Hei Mao and Ren Shi had one, so it wanted one too.

The rabbit head also had its own room, converted from a study. Inside, there was a bed, a small television, various items it fancied, and some unfinished food.

It no longer had to sleep on the sofa or share a bed with Nan Deng.

Every night, the rabbit head was kicked out of the bedroom, the door tightly shut, and the soundproofing was excellent.

At first, it was unhappy about this. But later, it found that having a whole room to itself wasn’t so bad.

The key was that the rabbit head didn’t dare to provoke Lian Yi. Compared to Nan Deng, it now obeyed Lian Yi more. Sometimes, just a glance from Lian Yi would make it jump away obediently.

When bored in its room, the rabbit head would sneak out to play, catching some resentful spirits and enjoying the thrill of hunting.

Since Lian Yi became a Ghost God, no ghost king could appear again. The patrolling celestial masters, detecting the intense evil energy, all turned a blind eye.

Nan Deng knew nothing of this. Lately, he often observed Lian Yi carefully, always feeling that he had changed somewhat compared to before.

He smiled less, his dark eyes were always cold, his body temperature fluctuated, and when quiet, he resembled a statue or a ghost, always emitting a chill.

The only thing that still interested him was Nan Deng, which hadn’t changed.

Nan Deng, still under Lian Yi’s meticulous care, would accompany him in doing anything and going anywhere.

But every night, Lian Yi became very fierce.

As a mountain god, Nan Deng wasn’t as fragile as he looked and wasn’t easily hurt.

Lian Yi knew this too, so he always bullied him harshly within his limits.

During the first period after they moved back, as long as they were in the bedroom, Nan Deng rarely wore his pajamas.

It was the same during the day; the thick curtains were always drawn, the floor was covered with a soft carpet, and the lights were often turned to the brightest setting.

Since there was no study anymore, a desk and chair were placed in the corner of the bedroom. But they weren’t used for reading.

Lian Yi’s energy was terrifyingly abundant. He never seemed to tire, and Nan Deng often cried.

There were even a few times when Nan Deng felt like he was about to be broken by him.

Although… although every time he cried, it wasn’t because of pain or discomfort.

So Nan Deng also indirectly indulged Lian Yi, until one day he installed a large mirror on one of the bedroom walls.

Nan Deng pushed Lian Yi away in embarrassment and anger, “You weren’t like this before…”

Could it be that, despite becoming a Ghost God, his essence remained that of a ghost, sometimes losing control over himself?

In the past, Lian Yi wouldn’t even bathe with him. Every night when they slept, he would just hold him, and most kisses were gentle.

But what he once restrained, he now made no effort to hide.

Lian Yi held Nan Deng and coaxed, “Don’t be afraid. It’s just a mirror.”

Nan Deng, very shy, buried his face in Lian Yi’s neck. After a while, he couldn’t help but look up and glance at the mirror.

He was being held tightly, his fair skin contrasting sharply with Lian Yi’s. The intimate connection between them is barely visible.

The sky hadn’t fully darkened yet, but the lights were on.

Lian Yi watched Nan Deng’s reaction, kissing his flushed cheek, “Just watch a little longer.”

Nan Deng, with tears streaming down, was almost out of breath and actively hugged Lian Yi.

For a while after that, Nan Deng became obsessed with watching various TV shows and movies.

He had always liked watching TV. But before, he just watched whatever was on. Now, he held a tablet in his hands every day.

Not only did Nan Deng have to watch, but Lian Yi and the rabbit head also had to accompany him.

Lian Yi wasn’t interested in these at all, serving as a human pillow beside Nan Deng.

The rabbit head, however, watched intently every time, fully engrossed. When Nan Deng discussed the plot with it, it would even earnestly wiggle its ears.

But in reality, it understood nothing.

Nan Deng liked a variety of genres and watched all sorts of things, often crying because his tear ducts were very sensitive.

Once, he watched a tragic movie and couldn’t stop crying.

“They… they are so miserable,” Nan Deng sobbed, clinging to Lian Yi’s neck, tears streaming down. “They can never see the person they love again…” Perhaps he was reminded of past events and felt a bit empathetic.

Lian Yi, feeling terribly distressed, gently wiped away Nan Deng’s tears. “Don’t cry, it’s just a movie.”

Nan Deng continued to cry. But after a while, he calmed down and gradually fell asleep in Lian Yi’s arms.

After some time, Nan Deng’s hobby shifted to online shopping.

He was curious about many things, so he bought them to see for himself. He also purchased items he liked, such as cute pillows and wind chimes to hang by the window.

Some items he didn’t like after buying them became the rabbit head’s toys.

Later on, Nan Deng noticed that many people’s pets had beautiful clothes and wanted to buy some for the rabbit head as well.

Due to the rabbit head’s unusual body shape, Nan Deng asked the store owner if custom-made clothes were possible and showed the owner a drawing of the rabbit head.

The owner said, “…Your pet looks like this?”

Nan Deng had to say it was a doll of his and that he wanted to order clothes for it.

However, since the rabbit head had only a head, it was challenging to design suitable clothes even with custom orders.

In the end, only one shop agreed to take the order. The designed clothes were very beautiful, and Nan Deng bought several at once.

When the first piece of clothing was finished, it was sent over first.

It was called clothing, but it was more like a headpiece. There were two delicate rings that could be looped over the rabbit head’s ears, with a piece of fabric sewn in between, draping over the back of its head and down the sides.

The fabric was double-layered and pink, looking like a little dress. The rings were also decorated with sparkling diamonds.

Nan Deng dressed the rabbit head in the “clothes” and was extremely pleased, saying, “Xiao Tu is so beautiful.”

He took out his phone to take a picture of the rabbit head. But unfortunately, he could only capture the floating clothes.

The rabbit head felt a bit uncomfortable and kept shaking its ears. It ran to Nan Deng’s bedroom to look in the mirror, hopping around and looking at itself for a long time.

Seeing that it liked the outfit, Nan Deng bought it a small wardrobe with a mirror.

Subsequent clothes were delivered one after another, and the rabbit head had something new to wear every day.

When Hei Mao and Ren Shi came over, the rabbit head deliberately showed off in front of them.

Hei Mao had grown even larger by then, looking much like a small leopard.

It sniffed the rabbit head’s clothes but, losing interest, went back to its nest to lie down.

Ren Shi was very curious, circling around the rabbit head and reaching out to touch it, only to have the rabbit head evade its touch.

The rabbit head rarely took off its clothes, only removing them when it went out to play at night.

Once, it was too lazy to undress and decided to wear its clothes outside to show the celestial masters.

It picked the prettiest outfit and, while Nan Deng wasn’t paying attention, quietly opened the window.

The rabbit head didn’t return until just before dawn.

In a good mood, it hopped along the roadside back home.

Recently, many residents had moved to the suburbs, including the house next to Nan Deng’s, which had its lights on at this time.

The neighbor had woken up early to wash up and get ready for work. When he pulled back the curtains, he suddenly saw a strangely shaped piece of cloth floating in the air, slipping through the window of the house opposite.

In the past three or four months, the number of wandering resentful spirits had drastically decreased, and incidents of spirits harming people had become rare, let alone such a blatant intrusion.

Startled, the neighbor screamed and quickly called the Inner Court hotline, claiming to have encountered a ghost.

He wanted to notify the residents across the way but lacked the courage, so he anxiously waited at home.

The nearby celestial master arrived quickly and knocked on the neighbor’s door.

“We’ve verified it, and there are no signs of a resentful spirit intrusion. What you saw was likely the pet of the residents next door.”

The celestial master’s face showed a hint of apology. “There’s no trace of evil energy in the suburbs. It’s very safe here, so don’t worry.”

Realizing it was a misunderstanding, the neighbor relaxed. “As long as it’s not a ghost… maybe I saw it wrong?”

The celestial master quickly added, “There was fog this morning, so it’s indeed possible you were mistaken.”

Moonlit: I wanna see how Xiao Tu looked like in its clothes, too…
