Students in Chaotic Dance

Chapter 2: Students in Chaotic Dance

I stood there, stupefied, gazing blankly for a while.

“Squeak!” One black car after another parked nearby, and I immediately turned to look. The doors opened, and a graceful girl in a flowing white gown emerged.

What on earth!

There stood a girl in traditional Hanfu attire, her elegant white gown with narrow sleeves and a light, flowing skirt that allowed easy movement. She had long hair, with strands elegantly pinned up at the sides using a vintage crystal hairpin, giving her a graceful and antiquated appearance that perfectly matched her delicate, almond-shaped eyes.

Although her eyes were large, her expression remained cold as she walked past me, earphones in her ears, completely absorbed in her phone. She glanced at me for a moment but continued to focus on her device.

What is happening here!

I am aware that many people enjoy cosplay these days. Although the girl was wearing Hanfu and had earphones on, it didn’t seem out of place. But seriously, wearing Hanfu to school? Isn’t that a bit too individualistic? Should I also wear my Spider-Man costume?

Just then, more cars came to a halt, aligning themselves neatly in a row. The scene instantly became a spectacular spectacle, as if national leaders had arrived. In a split second, it turned into a vibrant hub of activity.

Boys and girls, appearing to be students, disembarked from the cars, and I was completely taken aback!

Some wore traditional costumes, while others were in modern attire. There were even some wearing martial arts clothing that looked far more impressive than those of Tai Chi masters!

But what’s with the coin swords?

And what about the demon-slaying staffs?

How can they carry weapons with them?

That boy with a large white snake coiled around him, what’s the story there?

Oh no! That girl just dropped her suitcase, and now there are papers and ghost money flying all over the place!

Stiffly, I turned around, covering my mouth to prevent myself from blurting out in astonishment. What kind of school is this?

“Thump! Thump!” A boy extended his arm, leaping over me with a straightened posture. He halted abruptly, and I stared at him, frozen. He, too, stared back at me, his face pale with dark circles under his eyes. A yellow talisman was affixed to his forehead!

Are you kidding me? Is cosplay meant to be taken this seriously?

Do you really need to wear heavy makeup and dress up as a zombie in broad daylight?

He sniffed and said to me, “Breathe in, breathe in.”

“Why are you doing that? What’s the matter with you? I don’t have body odor!”

As he leaned towards me, a girl wearing a tank top with exposed shoulders suddenly jumped to his side and slapped him on the head, scolding him like a dog trainer, “Are you going to stop or not? Get out of here!”

Despite having an incredibly cute baby-face, the girl had purple highlights in her wavy hair and a fierce expression that resembled a female demon. She had non-conventional black lipstick, black nail polish, and was only a few piercings away from completing the look.

The zombie-like guy’s expression briefly contorted, but he turned his face away and continued to hop forward with a stiff posture.

Impressive, I admire his dedication to the character.

“You, get lost too!” The girl didn’t give me a friendly look either. “Don’t stand here tempting my zombie!”

“What? You!” I hadn’t even said anything yet, and the girl had already hopped away.

“Thump!” Suddenly, someone bumped into me. A figure dressed in red quickly passed by, and a cool electric skateboard traced a perfect arc before coming to a stop in front of me. An attractive face instantly loomed large in front of me.

With his long, narrow eyes, slender eyebrows, straight nose, rosy lips, deep-set eyes, and short hair with golden-brown ends, it was evident that he had mixed heritage. My gaze was immediately captivated by his eyes, which resembled vibrant sapphire gemstones with a hint of purple, as if his blue eyes had been tainted with a touch of blood from within.

“So, you’re a newcomer,” he teased, curling his lips. The mischievous smirk on his face exuded a charming and rebellious vibe. He licked his lips and asked, “What’s your name, newcomer?”

I stared at him in a daze when suddenly, a petite girl in a checkered dress squeezed her way between us and said to him in a bossy manner, “Why haven’t you gone inside yet?”

The boy smirked, turned around, gracefully stepped off the skateboard, which stood upright beside him, and the girl immediately ran to him, tightly linking her arm with his and resting her head on his shoulder, as if proclaiming to the whole world that this boy belonged to her.

As the boy walked ahead, the girl glanced back at me from his shoulder, and I saw an exceptionally delicate and beautiful girl, resembling a “green tea sister.”

However, her gaze at that moment was unusually malicious, as if warning me that he was her boyfriend and I shouldn’t dare to get close.

Seriously! Is that necessary?

This girl must be crazy. I haven’t even exchanged a single word with her boyfriend, and she reacted like this. If I were to say something, she might just kill me!

“Don’t get close to the God of Light. The Crimson Sun will kill any woman who approaches him!” came a calm female voice from beside me.

“The God of Light?” I turned my head in confusion to the girl who warned me. She was dressed in a neat and tidy white sportswear, holding a phone and dragging her luggage. Finally, I saw someone normal! There were just too many eccentric people floating around me earlier, making my head spin.

The girl in front of me exuded an air of maturity and grace. With an oval face and almond-shaped eyes that were black and shiny, she appeared confident and capable.

She glanced at me and said, “So, you’re a newcomer. Anyway, stay away from the God of Light and the Crimson Sun. Be careful.” With that, she coolly walked away.

I stood amidst the continuous flow of people, once again feeling clueless.

Everything before my eyes made me, Xia Xiaolan, feel like I had entered another world, where I was the odd one out.

I quickly entered the waiting lounge, which was filled with cosplayers!

This didn’t feel like going to school at all; it felt more like attending a grand anime convention!

I was on the verge of a breakdown. I must have entered the wrong scene. I needed to find a quiet place to calm down.

I rushed into the nearby restroom and splashed myself with three handfuls of cold water. The entire restroom was calm and quiet, with only the sound of water flowing from the tap, reminding me that I was still on Earth, in my own world.

I turned off the tap, stood up, and suddenly, a figure appeared in the mirror! It was the God of Light!

“Ah! Mmm!” Before I could get a clear look at him, he covered my mouth from behind! He pressed heavily against my back, and I supported myself on the sink with both hands to prevent him from pushing me down. His body pressed firmly against my back, and in the mirror before me, I saw his suddenly sinister smile. He leaned down, his lips curling, and he looked down at the top of my head. “Not bad~~~ The scent is very pure~~~ There aren’t many this pure anymore~~~ You’re quite lucky!”

After saying that, he turned my head, exposing my neck from under my long hair. He opened his mouth and leaned in to bite, and I was startled to see his sharp teeth behind his red lips!

“Mmm~~~~~~~” I mumbled. Seriously, you’re taking this roleplaying too far! It’s not like I said you had to bite someone if you’re playing a vampire!

“Ah! Wrong way!” Suddenly, a boy’s exclamation came from the side. Immediately, the God of Light stopped, and his sharp teeth hovered over my exposed neck.
