Chapter 34: Buy Insurance Immediately
When I woke up, I found the light to be glaring, so I raised my hand to shield my eyes from the brightness.
“Awake?” I heard the doctor’s voice, which was now quite clear and had a pleasant male tone. “It’s been a while since I treated a mortal. Treating you mortals is interesting because I can’t kill you.”
I was startled. Why did this place feel even more dangerous than where the Faceless Ghosts were?

“Put on this mask,” he said, placing a white mask in front of me that only had eye and nose holes, without a mouth.
I looked at the mask strangely and asked him, “Uh, uh, uh… Uh! Uh! Uh–” I suddenly realized that I couldn’t speak!
“Stop trying to speak. Your face is paralyzed,” he said with a light laugh, glancing at me twice before bringing a mirror.
In a daze, I stared at him. How did I end up with a paralyzed face? When did I consume shrimp powder that would make my face dissolve like a crayfish?
As he held the mirror in front of me, he suddenly teased, “I suggest you not look. It’s better to avoid having nightmares and coming back to me for hypnosis. I don’t want to see you again.”

Swiftly, I grabbed the mask handed to me by the doctor and donned it.

I raised the phone to show the doctor.
He chuckled, “Because of Faceless ghosts’ poison.”
My eyes widened.
He continued, “Faceless ghost’s poison gradually causes your skin to adhere together…” His expression turned sinister, prompting me to cover my face with the mask. Tears welled up; it felt like crying. Was I destined to wear this mask for the rest of my life? The Divine and Demon Academy truly posed immense dangers!
Suddenly, I remembered that the academy map featured an insurance company!
I immediately spoke into my phone, “Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm (insurance company).”

The doctor laughed from the sidelines, crossing his arms and leaning against the foot of my bed. His previously bored gaze finally revealed a glimmer of interest.

I typed on my phone again, “What about the Faceless ghost?”
The doctor raised an eyebrow. “You still had the mind to worry about it.”
I nodded.
The carefree smile on his face gradually faded, and he looked at me with a serious expression. “Faceless Ghost has already been sent back to the Demon Realm. Don’t you really want to know if your face can be cured?”
I lowered my head and typed again, “What about my friends?”
He furrowed his brows. “Can’t you ask yourself about your face?” He seemed annoyed, as if he had initially intended to tease me, but I didn’t play along.
I felt frustrated for a moment and pointed at my face. Finally, he smiled in satisfaction. “The mask has an antidote function. Try to wear it for the next seven days. Also, the mask can help shape your features. Otherwise… don’t blame me if it doesn’t heal properly~~~”
