Chapter 42: Mo Míng Gradually Integrates With Us

“She was lacking oxygen,” Mo Míng said, releasing me with an unnaturally calm demeanor.

I stiffly turned my face back to Mo Míng, his expression unchanging. I felt like he was the one with a poker face!

I touched my forehead, begging for someone to save me—I dared not speak in front of Mo Míng anymore!

“You could have given her an oxygen tank,” Jiàng Yǎn said coldly.

Mo Míng looked emotionlessly at Jiàng Yǎn: “The oxygen tank is too far, she just said she was suffocating.”

I immediately said, “I meant I feel like suffocating when I’m with you!”

However, Jiàng Yǎn continued to look only at Mo Míng: “Then you could have taken her outside, with your speed, it would only take a second or two.”

A hint of coldness crossed Mo Míng’s emerald eyes: “Her suffocation could very well be due to the No-Face’s poison causing her nostrils to stick together.”

Jiàng Yǎn sneered: “Then how has she been breathing these past few days?”

Mo Míng paused, staring emotionlessly at Jiàng Yǎn for a moment, then said, “I forgot.”

Three words, delivered with conviction, so… did you all completely ignore what I said?

Jiàng Yǎn glanced at the still composed Mo Míng, bent down to pick up his blood bag, and put it back in his mouth, raising an eyebrow: “Remember next time, you made me waste a bag of blood. Xiǎo Lán.” He turned his gaze to me, his blue eyes holding a meaningful look, “What else do you want to buy? I’ll help you find it.”

“Alright, alright,” I immediately ran towards him, our cart in front of us. Mo Míng squinted his eyes, following us from a distance, his ears perked up high.

“Next time, stay further away from your dog,” Jiàng Yǎn whispered to me without moving his lips.

“Yes…” I whispered back, “I can never communicate properly with him. I said being with him makes me feel suffocated, and he doesn’t understand, thinking I’m lacking oxygen!”

Jiàng Yǎn coughed, gripping the blood bag as if to prevent it from spraying out.

I sneakily glanced back at Mo Míng, who stopped in his tracks when he saw me looking, his face flushing slightly before he looked down and disappeared with a “whoosh.”

I turned back, feeling a bit embarrassed, “Thank goodness for my mask, or my first kiss would be gone.”

Jiàng Yǎn almost choked again, and I nudged him with my elbow, “What’s so funny?”

He straightened up, holding the blood bag and seriously looking ahead, “The Wolf God clan, even in human form and possessing human traits, retains some wolf characteristics; they are very protective of their master.”

“And so?” I felt inexplicably uneasy.

Jiàng Yǎn looked down at me, his blue eyes swirling with a deep vortex, “So, they have a certain possessiveness towards their master.”

I stared at him blankly, but he relaxed and smiled, leisurely enjoying his blood bag, “Think of it this way, they are just a bit clingy. I believe you can handle it.” His sudden delicate way of speaking made me feel even more uneasy!

I don’t want a servant who clings to me all day and has a sense of possessiveness!

How would I find a boyfriend then?

oh! I forgot, I can’t find a boyfriend in the immortal realm either. I looked around and asked Jiàng Yǎn, “Where is everyone?”

“They scattered because there are too many things to buy. What are you buying?” He leaned forward to look into my cart, then paused, “All healing medicines.”

“Yes! I thought since I can’t fight or defend, I could at least heal everyone. By the way, Senior Jiàng Yǎn, is there something for long-distance healing?”

Jiàng Yǎn looked at me blankly, “You think… this is like playing an online game? A mage that can heal from afar?”

I got excited, finally finding someone who understood me, and nodded eagerly, “Yes, yes! Is there something like that?”

Jiàng Yǎn’s eyebrows twitched, and he looked down to suck blood, saying, “There isn’t.”

“There is!” Suddenly, the cart in front of me spoke up, and Jiàng Yǎn looked at it in surprise. I immediately asked, “Where? Take me there.”

“Alright, please follow me.” The cart started moving quickly, its four little legs tapping rapidly.

Jiàng Yǎn and I followed behind, running deeper and deeper, with Jiàng Yǎn becoming more puzzled, “I thought the items deeper inside were supposed to be older and more worn out…”

“We’re here.” The cart stopped, and both Jiàng Yǎn and I were stunned; we had reached the end!

Instead of shelves, there was just a box of miscellaneous items, filled with all sorts of old and worn things.

The cart pointed with one of its legs to the box, “These are sold by the box, one hundred immortal coins. The thing you’re looking for is inside, called the Long-Range Healing Gun.”

Long-Range Healing Gun? That sounded exactly like what I needed. okay then! I was about to move the box when Jiàng Yǎn stopped me, “Xiǎo Lán, this stuff is junk, useless, and broken, not worth a penny. one hundred immortal coins can buy a decent piece of equipment.”

But I looked at Jiàng Yǎn firmly, “I need that gun. The cart wouldn’t lie.”

“That’s true,” Jiàng Yǎn looked at the cart, which stepped aside to make space, “Alright.” Jiàng Yǎn helped me load a dusty box of junk onto the cart, which bent its legs slightly, grimacing, “It’s unexpectedly heavy.”

I was puzzled by the size of the box, no bigger than a microwave, but Jiàng Yǎn’s cart seemed to struggle under its weight, even though it hadn’t shown any strain when full of blood bags.

The cart creaked and shook under the weight of the junk.

“It’s strange, I didn’t feel it was that heavy when I picked it up,” Jiàng Yǎn stroked his chin, looking thoughtfully at the cart, then his eyes suddenly sharpened, looking excitedly at me, “We might have really found a treasure!”

I looked at him, puzzled, “What do you mean?”

As he leaned down to whisper in my ear, suddenly, a silvery-gray figure flashed by, and a killing intent approached. Jiàng Yǎn, noticing it, flashed his blue eyes and quickly dodged, while Mo Míng already stood between me and Jiàng Yǎn.

“Mo Míng!” I looked at Mo Míng, who calmly walked between me and Jiàng Yǎn. Jiàng Yǎn frowned, looking disinterestedly at Mo Míng with a blood bag in his mouth, “Aren’t you being a bit too protective?”

Mo Míng crossed his arms and lifted his chin, his fluffy ears twitching, “You’re from the Blood Clan; how do I know you’re not planning to bite my master?”

I raised an eyebrow, “I’ve been living with Senior Jiàng Yǎn for over a month; if he wanted to bite me, he would have done it by now.”

“You don’t understand the Blood Clan; they are sinister, cunning, and despicable…”

“Right~~~~ we are sinister, cunning, and despicable~~~” Jiàng Yǎn rolled his eyes while holding the blood bag, “Anyway, the reputation of our Blood Clan has long been ruined by the Light God. I don’t mind how you see me. Xiǎo Lán, we can talk about the bargain we found when we get back.”

“okay!”

“You are not allowed to be alone with him!” Mo Míng immediately stepped between us.

“I don’t mind if you are there,” Jiàng Yǎn said, amusedly looking at Mo Míng.

Mo Míng turned to look at him, “Fine, then the three of us together.”

All three together? What are you talking about, can’t you speak normally!
