Chapter 58: Can a Cold Be Cured by Sleeping with Someone?
“Next time, we must not let them drink alcohol!” In a daze, I heard Jiang Yan’s voice, so distant, so empty.
I tried to open my eyes, and everything before me was blurry. The familiar sensation startled me, and I sat dumbfounded in a soft pile of ash, looking at the hazy, red fluff-covered surroundings.
Holy crap!
How did I end up back here again?
I quickly hid behind a dilapidated car covered in ashes, taking a deep breath. Jiang Yan’s voice came from above, empty and distant. “Xiao Nuo, are you okay? Did they do anything to you…?”
What could we do to Xiao Nuo?
My head was pounding, and my brain started to feel fragmented. I could vaguely remember that after Mao Mao transformed, she grabbed Xiao Nuo and made him accompany us like a karaoke princess…
Hmm… I didn’t do anything to Xiao Nuo…
I think…
I hope not…
Why do I feel so guilty now? I covered my face, please don’t tell me I did something inappropriate to Si Yino. He’s such a cute little boy, always so shy and timid. What if I had some evil thoughts when I was drunk?
“No, no…” Si Yino’s timid voice came from above. Why did it sound so guilty? Mao Mao and I couldn’t have actually done something to him! Could we have?
I hugged my head. I really shouldn’t drink so recklessly, it’s the result of drinking too much. But… it seems like I should be more concerned about the current situation!
What exactly am I? If it’s an out-of-body experience, why can I still hear Jiang Yan and the others talking? This feeling is strange, it’s like I’ve split into two, like two disposable cups connected by a string. The body above can make me hear all the surrounding sounds.
So, how do I go back?
I lifted my face and looked at the dim and gloomy sky. The red fluff falling down seemed like the world’s blood, slowly drifting, as if the world was collapsing, filling me with despair.
“Qing Ming, you take Mao Mao back to the room. Mo Ming! What are you doing?!”
Mo Ming? As Jiang Yan exclaimed, I stared intently above, as if I could see it. Mo Ming is acting irrational! I absolutely cannot let him have my body!
“I will accompany the master back to the room.” Sure enough, Mo Ming’s voice sounded calm from above.
“I’m not comfortable with that. I’ll go.” Jiang Yan’s voice reassured me.
“No! You’re a vampire, I’m even more concerned.”
Hey, hey, hey! You guys aren’t trying to steal my “lifeless body,” are you? I know we’re all good buddies, and you want to carry my body back to the room, but I really don’t mind if you leave me there to fend for myself…
“I… I’ll do it…” I heard Xiao Nuo’s timid voice.
“Okay, let Xiao Nuo take Xiao Lan back to the room. Xiao Nuo, can you carry her?”
==!!! Yeah, Xiao Nuo, can you carry me? I’m really worried about your petite frame. If you can’t do it, please don’t force yourself. What if you end up dropping me? I’m already injured.
“If… I can’t carry her… then… you… definitely won’t be able to either…” Xiao Nuo’s timid voice came through, and suddenly it went quiet above. Then, I heard the sound of Jiang Yan snoring as he sucked blood from a bag. Ha, even Jiang Yan’s stamina is less than Xiao Nuo’s!
Sigh… It’s not a solution for Jiang Yan to keep getting knocked out like this. These were just minor battles, but what if it’s a major battle and he faints halfway through?! I have a strong feeling that this is a very possible scenario!
“Huh…” I heard the monster’s breath, and my whole body tensed up.
Then, the ground began to tremble, as if countless fierce beasts were rushing like a flood.
I glanced left and right, gently, slowly opened the door of the broken car behind me, bit by bit, and then slipped inside. I was in the back seat. I secretly lifted my face and saw an incredibly huge monster stepping over my broken car.
There are still monsters that big, it’s like a dinosaur! What would happen if such monsters were brought into my world? Can the Avengers handle them?
Oh no! My mind is getting confused, the Avengers are just fictional.
“Thud… thud…” The massive monster walked past my broken car with heavy footsteps. Behind it, there were wave after wave of various monsters. I even saw faceless creatures!
Of course, they have faces now.
Suddenly, a winged monster flew across the sky, its black cloak brushing against the floating willow fluff. I saw the black-clothed boss standing on that flying monster.
So cool!
Suddenly, it seemed like he sensed something and looked down. I quickly crouched under the seat, pressed against the door, and my heartbeat started to accelerate constantly.
“Thump!” The whole car suddenly sank, and sharp claws instantly pierced through the roof. I almost screamed but quickly covered my mouth!
“Thud, thud, thud!”
“Whoosh!” The black cloak swept past the window in front of me as he leaped down from above onto my car door. His black hair trembled slightly.
I nervously watched his black figure, and he slowly turned his face, the black mask perfectly covering his face. The gleam of his earrings took on a dark red hue in this world.
He slowly turned around, and I pressed against the car door, dumbfoundedly staring at him. I’ve been, I’ve been discovered!
He stood silently outside the car door, his emotionless eyes peering silently at me from behind the mask. No surprise, no shock, no murderous intent, and… no emotions.
He looked at me as calmly as he looked at this world reduced to ashes. I took a slow breath, staring blankly at him. He truly harbored no intention to kill me. Was it because I’m just a puny human, not enough to pique the boss’s interest?
Like watching an ant pass by his feet, he wouldn’t pay much attention.
He quietly gazed at me through the car window, and I sat quietly inside, watching him.
Suddenly, his eyes flickered for a moment, but he slightly glanced back.
“They’re gone! What are you doing?”
I actually heard a girl’s voice! The girl’s voice was strange, as if tainted by the impurity of this world, making it indistinguishable.
I looked at him in astonishment, but he turned his gaze back calmly, raising his hands as he pulled up the collar of his black cloak. The feathers on the collar began to elongate, forming a hood that covered his head. It made his already dark mask even gloomier, and the large brim magnified his figure, engulfing the entire car window in front of me.
“What are you looking at?” As another white figure descended behind him, I closed my eyes in fright, desperately shouting in my mind, “Take me back now!”
A buzzing sound suddenly echoed in my ears, and my brain felt like a stone sinking to the bottom of the sea. My consciousness became blurry, like being intoxicated. I tried to open my eyes, but they only opened into a narrow slit, and everything was swaying. In the faint moonlight, I could only see a blurry figure and a cascade of hair illuminated by moonlight.
I struggled to reach out, grabbing at that snowy white figure. “Stay… stay with me… I… I don’t want… to go back… there…” My consciousness was completely consumed by alcohol, and my hand slipped off the smooth, icy-like hair. I was truly, truly scared. Anyone, please stay and save me…
Before I was completely engulfed by darkness, he turned around in the moonlight, lowered his face, and I closed my eyes. In the darkness, I heard a seductive voice with a hint of sandiness, “That? What is it? Hmph, I didn’t expect you to be so casual. Let me stay with you, but remember, you’ll have to pay a price ~~” His voice was full of playfulness and sarcasm, somewhat reminiscent of Fu su, yet different, with a more captivating tone.
Suddenly, an unusually cold hand touched my face, and instantly I felt as if I had fallen into an icy sea. I curled up completely, as if sleeping in the deepest crevice of a glacier, unseen by anyone, merging with the surrounding ice.
When I woke up, my whole body was in pain!
There wasn’t a single part that didn’t hurt: my head, my throat, my bones. I felt weak and sore all over, unable to speak. I knew I had a fever.
It must be because I drank too much last night and got chilled. No wonder it felt like sleeping with a block of ice all night.
I groggily opened my eyes and saw Si Yino hugging the white snake, hiding behind it, timidly looking at me. “Xiao Lanjie… you’re awake?”
“I…” My throat hurt so much that I couldn’t speak. My heart was pounding uncomfortably as I regained consciousness, and my breathing became rapid. “Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo!”
Si Yino widened his eyes in surprise. “What’s wrong, Xiao Lanjie?”
“Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo.”
Timidly, he reached out from behind Xiao Bai and touched my forehead. The cool touch made me feel a little better for a moment. He withdrew his hand in shock, fear evident in his silver pupils. “Senior… Senior…” He was so scared that he dropped Xiao Bai and opened the door. When he opened the door, I saw Jiang Yan and Mo Ming standing outside. They looked like they had been at odds all night!
“Xiao Lanjie is in bad shape…” Si Yino’s choked voice almost made me pass out for real! His choked voice sounded like he was about to cry.
Damn it, have you immortals never been sick before?!
“Poof!” Jiang Yan almost spat out blood, and Mo Ming immediately rushed into my room, kneeling by my bedside and grabbing my limp hand. His emerald eyes looked at me with great encouragement. “Master, hold on! I absolutely won’t allow you to die!”
“Go… go away…” I didn’t have the strength to curse, I could only cough it out with my weak voice. Mo Ming froze.
A hand reached out from beside him, it was Senior Jiang Yan’s. Calmly, he touched my forehead, and then he leaned down, staring at my face. But as he stared, a hint of blood flashed in his green eyes, and he couldn’t seem to look away from my hot face. I had a fever. My face should be flushed right now. I clearly saw him swallow his saliva, and my eyes widened. What’s wrong? Do you want to bite me or something!
