Final Chapter: There is an Evil Spirit by Her Side
Kan, kan, kan, kan. (TN: clang x4)
The sound of a railroad crossing echoes through the cloudy sky.
A high school girl is blocked in her path by a crossing that signals the arrival of an upcoming train near the tracks in a peaceful rural town.
The skirt of her black sailor uniform sways in the summer breeze, and her short, cropped hair does the same. Her obsidian eyes are fixed on the tracks on the other side of the crossing, and she listens to the clanging sound of danger as if it is something that doesn’t concern her.
What she is looking at are not tracks.
Kan, kan, kan, kan.
Standing on top of it was a woman with bent legs.
Most of her pure white clothing was stained with her own blood, and she was looking down, her messy black hair hanging limp. Even though a train was about to arrive, she was standing frozen in the middle of the tracks.
It was clear that she was not alive. Bright red blood was flowing from the corner of her mouth, blood was also flowing from her head, and she was gazing resentfully at the high school girl on the other side of the crossing.
Kan, kan, kan, kan.
The woman standing in the middle of the tracks reaches out her hand towards the high school girl standing just outside the crossing.
Her fingertips, blood running down to her nails, are stretched out and swaying up and down.
Her awkward hand is waving, perhaps trying to lure the girl to the inside of the crossing. “Come over here.”
“Are you sure you’re fine with Miss A from the railways?”
The high school girl gently tilted her head,
“I’m sorry but you will be eaten right here.”
Someone puts a hand on the shoulder of the woman standing in the middle of the tracks.
The woman notices the hand on her shoulder and turns around.
She looks at the person standing there, with her eyes wide open,
“You look delicious.”
There was a high school boy with pure silver hair and vibrant red eyes that blended with the sunset sky. He was wearing an old-fashioned jet-black stand-up collar and clutching a silver knife in his hand. It was silver tableware that was not necessary in a high school boy’s daily life.
Before the woman could realize what was going on, the boy’s heart-rending laughter fell as he greeted her, mixing with the sound of the railroad crossing.
It was an announcement that the meal was about to begin.
“I ta da ki masu.”
Today, Yuiru Enen’s meal began again.

I’m Yamashita Shu, also known as Yamashu, and I’m always writing novels.
I’ve never written a proper horror novel before, so I started this one, but it’s about 2000 characters long and can be read quickly. You can read it!
