The Ghost Teacher Who Desires to Teach

Chapter 2 “The Ghost Teacher Who Desires to Teach”

“What was that!?”

“Ebuh” (TN: grunt)

As soon as that scary class was over, Houzuki was punching Yuiru.

The silver-haired male student is blown away by a brilliant straight right.

He slid to the corner of the classroom, slamming his whole body into the overturned desk, and Yuiru’s movements finally stopped. The shock of being hit was too great.

Incidentally, he also recovered quickly. Yuiru quickly got up, his cheeks red and swollen from the blow.

“What are you doing!!”

“What on earth was that! I have no idea that such a creepy ghost exists!!”

“What’s with you, you don’t know Misako-sensei? You’re falling behind.”

Rubbing his cheek where he had been punched, Yuiru said, “Let me explain,” while intentionally clearing his throat.

“Misako-sensei is the ghost of a female teacher who appears in the old school building. She was a teacher who was passionate about teaching, but passed away due to an accident, but due to her strong regrets, she wanders the world in a frightening form. She’s a sad ghost.”

“Will she never enter Nirvana?”

“It’s not gonna happen.”

Yuiru immediately answered Houzuki’s question.

“Listen, Servant. In order for a ghost to enter Nirvana, they’re bound by certain rules.”

“Rules?”

At Houzuki tilting her head in wonder, Yuiru proudly said, “You don’t even know that?”

“There should be a way to deal with them, be it the Kuchisake Onna1 or Babasare2. If that method is put into practice, the ghost will become weak.”

“Then, is there also a way to deal with that Misako-sensei?”

“Of course there is.”

Yuiru nods confidently but,

“I’m not going to tell you.”

“Why not!!”

“There’s no way I’m going to do something like decrease my bait, right? Entering Nirvana is absurd. I won’t have the source of my food reduced.”

Yuiru, who turned the other way with a fwip, spoke with a hand gesture as if he’s chasing away a bug.

“Class is over, Servant. Your fear is quite delicious, but I feel like I’ll be sick to my stomach if I eat any more. Hurry and go home.”

Houzuki, after being told so much, plans to give him another punch, but if she kept dilly-dallying, Misako-sensei might come again along with the distorted sound of the bell again. She would like to refrain from taking any more of that class.

Houzuki looked at Yuiru with resentment, and then grabbed her bag, which had been pushed to a corner of the classroom.

She was wary of Misako-sensei until she left the classroom, then she glared at Yuiru at the end and left the desolated classroom.

Let’s never go into the old school building again.

It was the day after she experienced that terrifying class.

Houzuki went to school as usual, ignoring the multiple ghosts and came to her classroom.

Unfortunately, she is in a different class with her friend Aoyagi Towako, so she says goodbye tearfully when she enters the classroom. If she was in a class with Towako, she would have a somewhat easier life, but Houzuki seems to be out of luck.

When she stepped into her lively classroom, the chilly air caressed her skin.

“Hyah!?”

Hozuki let out a cry.

The strange looks from her classmates who heard the high-pitched cry hurts. Even though she’s being shunned for being able to see ghosts, why does she always end up in such an unfortunate situation?

For the time being, she glossed over the cold air that caressed her skin with a friendly smile and quickly hurried to her seat.

As she put her bag on the desk, a familiar voice touched her earlobes.

“What’s up with you, are you a so-called loner?”

It belonged to the silver-haired male student she met yesterday at the old school building.

“If you don’t make at least one friend in your class, you won’t have a future. Well, it might be more convenient though.”

The voice came from the other side of the window.

Houzuki tells herself that she heard it wrong, but he is still concerned about the other person.

She gripped her bag tightly on the desk and looked out the window. There’s an ordinary blue sky, an empty schoolyard, and a flower bed grown by the gardening committee.

There was a normal view of the outside world. Houzuki’s seat is by the window, so she secretly looks forward to gazing out at the outside world while she’s in class.

“So I misheard. What a relief……”

“What are you relieved about?”

“I thought that the ghost I saw in the old school building yesterday finally arrived here in the classroom.”

“Well, well. You’re quite liked by that ghost, aren’t you? Are you possessed by any chance?”

“That’s not the case.  After all, he didn’t follow me to my house. As I thought, he must be unable to leave the old school building.”

“I see, I see. Then how about you turn around and check it out?”

“? Turn around――”

‘Is there something?’, when Houzuki turns back,

“Good morning, Servant. How are you feeling?”

There was an abominable guy with almost transparent silver hair, red eyes that seemed to blend into the sunset sky, and a smiling face wearing the black collar that was XX High School’s uniform.

And he’s waving his hand. ‘He’s acting like a friend, this bastard.’

Houzuki’s thought process stops.

If it were a normal ghost, it wouldn’t be able to leave its designated location and wouldn’t be able to come to places where there are many people.

But why is this guy here?

“Kyaa――”

“Whoa there, is it okay for you to scream? It’s already a weird atmosphere since earlier, are you going to scream and make it even weirder?”

The silver-haired male student who seemed to be threatening――Yuiru Enen said with a grin.

Houzuki managed to swallow back a scream just before she could, and covered her mouth to get through it.

She took her eyes off Yuiru, hooked her bag next to her desk, and sat down in er seat as if nothing had happened. She has a strong will to ignore whatever is said to her, and completely avoids Yuiru from her sight.

However, the evil spirit from the old school building didn’t care.

“How boring, so boring~. You got surprised but there’s no fear. You were better yesterday, you know?”

“…………”

“Oi, why are you ignoring me? You’re seeing me, right? Oi, Servant.”

“…………”

“I see, you plan to ignore me obstinately?”

‘My, my’, Yuiru shrugs his shoulders and said,

“Can’t be helped. Should I possess you?”

“That’s――!!”

Houzuki, who was about to scream again, hurriedly covered her mouth with her hand.

Even with just that, the gaze of those around her has become harsher. She can hear whispers of insults such as, “Is she talking alone?” “She’s quite loud today, isn’t she……” “Isn’t it just her usual?”

Houzuki glared at Yuiru, who was grinning, and ran out of the classroom, unable to bear the gazes. ‘Let’s kill time in the bathroom until the morning assembly starts.’

“Hey, Servant. Where on earth are you going? That’s not the classroom.”

“Don’t follow me.”

“But you know~, I’m an evil that’s haunting you~.”

“You’re kidding, right?”

“Of course I am.”

Houzuki glared at Yuiru, who was following from behind while keeping a reasonable distance,

“What the hell is wrong with you this early morning? If you can get out of the old school building, you should go somewhere else. Don’t worry about me, just go to other people. People who are afraid. There are so many of them.”

“What a boring reaction.”

Yuiru snorted and said,

“And here I was, planning to tell you how to deal with your ghost-attracting constitution.”

“……………That, are you telling the truth?”

She was easy, Houzuki was deathly easy. She’s helpless against her constitution. She tried to rely on shrines, temples, and famous spiritual mediums, but they couldn’t do anything. There is no other option left but to cling to God or evil spirits.

Houzuki, who looked back at Yuiru with faint hope,

“How can I solve this?”

“It’s obvious. You just have to fulfill the rules to weaken the ghosts.”

Yuiru confidently sticks out his thin chest,

“If you do that, the number of ghosts that you can see will decrease, and eventually they will disappear. I think this is the best method.”

“…Wouldn’t that lead to you having to eat less?”

“I guess so.”

Yuiru said that he feeds on people’s fears.

It is no exaggeration to say that the method of weakening the ghost by fulfilling the rules will reduce Yuiru’s chances of eating. In fact, it will definitely decrease. What kind of annoyance would it be for someone to go out of their way to suggest a way to eat less?

Yuiru shrugged his shoulders,

“I guess it can’t be helped. Servant’s constitution that attracts ghosts is very promising. If I can expect good quality food, well, I have no choice but to cooperate.”

‘Be that as it may’, Yuiru smiled and said.

“It’s not like I don’t have any intentions. Well, I have a plan to use your constitution to attract ghosts and make them invisible.”

“What does that……?”

Just as she was about to ask what he meant, the bell tolling the morning assembly rang inside the school building. It wasn’t the distorted sound she heard in the old school building, but the sound of a bell that could be heard far away.

Houzuki heads towards her classroom with several other students, but Yuiru remains standing in the hallway. Since he is a ghost, there is no need to rush to the classroom, and in fact, there is no need for him to attend class. It doesn’t matter if he’s standing up or what he’s doing, it has nothing to do with Houzuki.

Yuiru said this to Houzuki as she headed towards the classroom.

“If you want to know the strategy, come to the old school building after school. Be sure to come prepared for class.”
