BDAW Chapter 12

Tsundere Corona

I came to the village.

I hid in the bushes far away and peered at the village chief’s house through the open window.
In such a case, a dragon eye that can telescope is convenient.

“. . . Hey, you’re relaxing, aren’t you?”

It’s morning now.
Looking around the village, everyone is sweating and working hard.
Despite that, the village chief was leisurely sipping tea at home.

“I wish you would just go to work. . .”

I spit poison from my mouth.
And hope he leaves the house as soon as possible.

“Come to think of it, I don’t see Corona.”

At this time, that child is usually doing farm work.

“Well, it doesn’t matter.”

I changed my mind and continued watching over the village chief’s house.
The sun rose to the top of the sky and everyone in the village stopped working.
It’s noon now.

The village chief is also eating with an elderly woman.
Could that person be his wife?

“. . . you’re eating pretty good food.”

Soup with meat and vegetables on glossy rice (?).
In the morning he was just relaxing and now he is eating something that looks delicious.

When I was in the village, I was forced to do farm work all day long, but th only food I ate was rice cooked in hot water and vegetable scum soup!

Anger rises up.
One more thing, I feel less guilty about borrowing medicine without permission.

After finishing the lunch break, the village chief finally started to move.
A truly relaxing and elegant day.
I wait for him to leave the house.

“. . . Good . . . He’s gone.”

Killing my presence, I slowly approach.
Make sure my footsteps are silent.
I clung to the entrance of the village chief’s house and listened through the door.

. . . . . It should be fine.
I can’t hear any noise.

I carefully opened the door and slipped inside.

“. . . there’s no one here.”

I start searching quickly.
There aren’t many places to look.
The chief’s house is simple.

A little shelf and some pots.
All that’s left is a simple chest of drawers.

“. . . that’s strange. . . There’s no medicine?”

Did I miss it?
No, perhaps something important is hidden under the floor.

I turned my hands into dragon claws and hooked them to the floorboards.
Then–

“. . . what are you doing?”

I turn my face towards the voice.
Corona!
I was caught by Corona again.

I panic and try to escape.
But the front door is blocked by her, and the window is too small the climb out of.

It’s no use.
Let’s blow off the roof–

“Calm down! Calm down!”

I was scolded.
I straighten my spin and hold it.

“. . . Look, take a deep breath. Inhale, exhale.”

I nodded.
Every time I take a deep breath in time with her voice, I feel calmer.

“Have you calmed down? Then sit there.”

I sat straight on the spot as prompted.

“. . . so what were you doing?”

I kept silent and couldn’t answer.
By the way, my dragon claws have already been restored.
Well, after being spotted perfectly by Corona.
This is the second time after my dragon wings.

After being silent for a while, she let out a deep sigh.

“Haaah. . . I told you before. I won’t tell anyone.”
“. . . . . . Really?”
“You’re so skeptical, aren’t you? . . . It’s true.”

That being said, scary things are scary.
What should I do if I get tipped off and a lot of soldiers come like a deception.
Just thinking about that makes me shiver.

“. . . but. . . you think I’m a witch, don’t you?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“. . . I saw the real witch. The Black Witch isn’t a plain woman like you.”

Pl, Plain woman!?
Another cruel thing was said.
Well, my appearance is plain, but. . .

“By the way, you. Where do you live now?”

Is it okay if I tell you?
I look up at Corona.
I don’t feel the atmosphere of deceiving me in particular.
Rather, she seems to be worried. . .

“Well, the forest. . . I live in the forest. . .”
“The forest is. . . the Demon Forest!?”

She was surprised.
But I don’t think that’s the case.
Because the forest I live in is a livable forest rich in nature’s blessings.
There are big beasts, but that’s about it.

“I don’t think so. It’s a pretty nice forest.”
“. . .Is that so? That’s good.”

Come to think of it. . .
I remembered that I didn’t see Corona in the morning, so I asked.

“Me? I went to trade with the neighboring village. I’ll give them grain and rice and get some fur. It’s loaded in a wagon, right?”
“Oh. . . that’s right. . .”

You’re doing a lot of things.
Somehow I feel the expanse of the world.

“Rather than that, it’s about you. What were you doing here?”

Is it okay if I talk to her?
Either way, I want some medicine.

(Besides. . . Possibly. . .)

Through Corona, I may be able to connect with this world.

“. . . I want some medicine.”
“Medicine. . . what do you mean? Come to think of it, I wanted to ask you. . . what’s you name?”
“. . . Kamisaka Asahi. . . actually. . .”

I explain it to her.
Picking up a handsome guy who was injured in the forest.
His fever won’t go down, so I need to get medicine.

After listening to the story, Corona nodded.

“. . . I understand. The medicine is in the storage, so I’ll get it for you.”
“Oh, really!? Thank you–”
“However!”

She interrupted my words.
When I look at her, it seems that her face is a little red.

“But! Instead, for giving medicine. . . Ah, Asahi, you’re my friend. . . be someone to talk to!”

I love how she jumped straight to blowing the roof off like it was no big deal.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and thank you for reading!
