BDAW Extra 2 Inedit

Mausoleum

Inedit’s POV*

The kingdom’s knights launch an attack against me.

“You black witch! What did you do with Captain Shimei!”

It was the Royal Dragon Knights who were now charging.

“Ooooooooooooooh!”
“…Don’t mix up bravery and recklessness.”

To me, such a passionate attack is nothing more than childish play.
Magic power was lit in the red magic ball.
Manipulating the manifested hellfire, I attack the Dragon Knight.

“Everyone! Shoot the arrows at once!”

I look down at the sound of the voice.
On the ground, the Holy Silver Knights were holding their bows.
They put the arrows on their bows and tightened their grip.

“First shot… release!”

They took a breath and shot the arrows.
But I’m calm.
Without panicking, I lit the green magic ball with magic power.
Then, a storm engulfs me as I float in the air, shooting down the incoming arrows.

“Ku… Second shot, ready!”
“I won’t let you.”

This time, I light up the brown magic ball with magic power.
Immediately, the earth rose violently and destroyed the knights on the ground like spider children.

“…Look, you witch!… There’s no other choice. Retreat!”

The knights are fleeing.
At least they seem to have understood the difference in strength.

However, I also used a little too much magic power.
I feel a stabbing pain in my head.

“……Hmm”

After letting out a snort, I left the battlefield.

When I returned to the palace, the old man came.
It’s probably just another nagging comment.

“Your Majesty, I hope you have returned safely.”
“Yes.”
“…But Your Majesty–”

It’s here.
I knew it.
It’s always been that way.

“No, wait. It seems that the knights were wandering around the border, so I just came to check on them.”

I interrupted the nagging.
I remained lost in thought.

Those knights were probably looking for a young dragon knight named Shimei who had disappeared.

“…Really, Your Majesty…”

The old man was still mumbling something.
Getting old at all is something to think about.
Everyone can become like this old man.
Despite being an old man minor trouble and other things are also a little boring.

“…I have always said this to you. You are the most important person. Your Majesty is the only one who can fulfill Founder Oine’s earnest wish!”
“Founder, Founder”

Finish off your nagging.
There’s something more I want to confirm than that.

The old man’s eyebrows furrowed as his complaint was ignored.
But I don’t know how this guy feels.
In fact, I should probably be more concerned about this guy.

“How are the preparations for the ceremony going?”

The old man realized this and his expression tightened.

“…I think it will still take a while.”
“……Really”

There’s no point in rushing, but it’s distracting.
I exhaled a thin stream of air from my lungs.
It calms me down.

“I’m going to the mausoleum…”

After saying a few words, I slowly started walking.

I arrived at the mausoleum.

In addition to myself, only members of the Senate and a limited number of other people are allowed to set foot in this place, which was built in the innermost part of the palace.

This is the most sacred place for the liberated nation of Oine.
It is a sanctuary where the soul of founder Oine is enshrined.

I visit this place from time to time to light the fire of hatred that continues to rage in my heart.
I hate the Perel Kingdom.

“…Oine. Your regret will definitely be the rest…”

Founder Oine.
She has black hair and black eyes and wandered into this world from a distant world about 150 years ago.

While crossing the world, she was given the power to transform into a black dragon.
The dragon referred to here is not a wyvern, but a fairy tale dragon.

It seems that Oine, who wandered into this area, first sought refuge in the kingdom.
It’s not about the current Perel Kingdom.
Its predecessor was a kingdom that is now in ruins.

The kingdom was already in its final stages as a country.
The royal family and aristocrats were completely corrupt, and crimes occurred frequently in towns and villages.
In particular, kidnapping of people and slave trading were popular.

The country sells its people abroad.
The king of the time also allowed it.
For me, this is a story that is hard to believe.
The people are the foundation of the country.
It is outrageous to protect the people and then sell them off.
I can’t help but feel angry just thinking about it.
This is a very grave situation.

However, there were people who lamented the decaying country.
That’s Oine.
She stood up to save her people.

Dragons are naturally endowed with the ability to sense things.
With that power, dragons can share their hearts with humans, have them interact, and communicate their intentions.
And it seems that Oine’s ability to sense things was already amazing.

With her power, she learned the suffering of oppressed people.
The people on the other hand also connected their hearts with her through the power of sensitivity and became one.

The people of the exiled country rose up in revolt with Oine as their banner.

The conflict between Oine and the kingdom continued to intensify.
Even though it was in the final stage, the opponent is a whole country.
Although the Black Dragon has overwhelming power, it is only one being.
It seems that even Oine had a hard time in the war, which was unfolding in many directions.

But in the end, she overthrew the kingdom.
She fought through the fierce war with a single heart that cared for her people.

The man standing next to Oine at that time was the founding king of the current abominable Kingdom of Perel.
It is the hero Perel.

This person seemed like he was in love with Oine.
However, the man took advantage of the gap in post-war reconstruction and ousted Oine and usurped the position.

Betrayed by the man she trusted, and suffering terrible treatment, she took some of her companions and fled to the dry land of the northeast.
That was the beginning of the liberated nation of Oine.

The people of the Perel Kingdom weren’t satisfied with just kicking Oine out, they even branded her a witch.
And they despised this country that she loved, calling it a demonic country, and began to invade it.

“…I will never forgive the Kingdom of Perel.”

I left the mausoleum with a new vow in my heart.

So the founding story of the country of Oine conflicts greatly with the founding story of the Perel Kingdom. There is a lot of useful information in the extra chapters. I’m getting worried about the future for Asahi who doesn’t know any of this.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and thank you for reading!
