“Damn! Do you have to use my terminal brain to watch that kind of ghostly stuff?!”
Upon hearing Lu Yuan’s words, Yusto immediately leaped as if he were a cat whose tail had been stepped on. In a race that advocates for reproduction like the Zerg race, the internet is flooded with films requiring pixelation, but everyone usually watches them secretly. Who would drag a friend along to watch?!
Lu Yuan shrugged, already lowering his head to study the light brain on his own. “If you’re not willing, forget it. I’m not forcing you.”
He’s quite democratic.
Yusto recalled that Lu Yuan was homosexual, and his face turned ashen for a moment. Ultimately, he was genuinely concerned that Lu Yuan, in the middle of the night, watching explicit content might lead to some unspeakable actions. He directly turned around and returned to his room.
“Bang!”
The door was slammed shut by Yusto with a heavy force, making a thunderous noise, followed by the distinct sound of forcefully locking it.
Lu Yuan glanced back, then withdrew his gaze, chuckled to himself, and dismissed Yusto’s nervousness. After all, the other person was so skilled; what could he possibly do to him? Soft and delicate males were not much of a threat.
Lu Yuan refocused his attention on the light brain, then examined the touch keyboard on it. Activating the handwriting function, he slowly and clearly wrote the word in the input field—
“Earth.”
Clicking on the search.
The light brain interface automatically entered the loading state. After a brief few seconds, the screen finally displayed a line of icy words—
“Apologies, unable to find relevant information, please try again.”
Lu Yuan’s expression barely changed when he saw this. He furrowed his brows, replaced the keyword with “Blue Star” and continued the search. However, what popped up were only some unrelated and chaotic contents, bearing no resemblance to the beautiful and prosperous place he remembered.
“Sigh…”
Lu Yuan wiped his face, took a slow breath, and finally accepted the situation. He cleared the browsing history on the light brain, got up, and went back to sleep, hoping that General Saphir would bring him some good news tomorrow when he went to school.
Early the next day, as dawn approached.
According to Lu Yuan’s biological clock, he should have slept until late morning, but perhaps because he had to go to school today, he hadn’t slept at all last night. So when Yusto pushed open the door and came out of the bedroom, they were both facing each other with dark circles under their eyes.
Yusto hinted with a smirk, “Looks like you didn’t sleep much last night. Those videos must have been quite captivating.”
Lu Yuan also noticed the dark circles under Yusto’s eyes and remarked, “You don’t look like you had an easy night either.”
Yusto denied, “No, don’t assume I’m like you.”
Yusto couldn’t close his eyes, thinking about the guy next door who had a liking for females. He fetched a set of new toiletries from the bathroom and handed them to Lu Yuan. “Bardell is a military academy, and punctuality is strictly enforced. It’s best not to be late on the first day of school. You have ten minutes for grooming.”
Lu Yuan took the toiletries, brushing his teeth while asking vaguely, “Do the males in your academy all dislike females like Wengel?”
Lu Yuan genuinely feared that he might lose control of the primal power within him and unleash it in a campus bullying scenario.
Yusto remained silent at Lu Yuan’s question. The reality was, places crowded with noble males often came with troubles. Without a background and strength, navigating the glamorous world of fame and fortune was incredibly challenging.
After a brief silence, Yusto spoke up, “The daily discipline in the academy is maintained by the Disciplinary Committee, and all students must adhere to it, including those troublesome males. If you run into any problems, go to them and look for me.”
Thinking that Lu Yuan might be afraid of being bullied, Yusto proactively offered protection.
Lu Yuan looked at him deeply, “Are you a member of the committee?”
Yusto wiped his hands with a towel, displaying elegance and nobility, “I am the chairman.”
Lu Yuan nodded, “Oh.”
He had known for a long time that Yusto and someone like him, a mediocre student, were different.
After finishing breakfast, Lu Yuan and Yusto set out. On the way to the academy, Lu Yuan, for the first time, felt a slight unease. He sat in the co-pilot seat of the flying vehicle, deep in thought for a long time, finally concluding that he might have a “fear of being a mediocre student in class”.
Having been a Nine-Leak Fish1the “fish”(person) which escaped the “net” of the Nine-year Compulsory Education for over twenty years and suddenly becoming a student at a noble academy, the contrast was indeed quite significant.
Yusto noticed Lu Yuan’s restlessness, “Are you scared?”
Lu Yuan shook his head, “No.”
He simply doesn’t like studying.
As they spoke, the flying vehicle had already reached its destination. Yusto piloted the aircraft to land at the entrance of the academy. Unbuckling his seatbelt, he descended to find the surroundings crowded with new students coming to register. The wide gates of Bardell Academy were so packed that it seemed like a sea of people.
Lu Yuan followed suit, stepping down from the flying vehicle. He looked up to observe the magnificent academy building, designed in a grand Western castle style. The structure seemed as large as a small city, with a spacious courtyard that could even accommodate an entire army for training exercises. The extravagance of it all was truly remarkable.
Lu Yuan sighed, somewhat like a rustic fellow, “Your academy looks pretty good.”
Yusto raised his hand to adjust his military cap, “It will be your academy too in the future. Let’s go; you need to go to the office to find General Saphir for enrollment. I’ll take you there.”
Being a year senior, Yusto had a military theory class at eight in the morning. He was never accustomed to being late, but concerned that Lu Yuan might not find his way, he decided to accompany him.
Lu Yuan noticed that Yusto was actually a bit of a softie, despite his tough exterior, “It’s alright. Just tell me which building he’s in, and I’ll find it myself.”
Yusto asked in return, “Are you sure?”
Lu Yuan expressed some confidence in his memory, “My sense of direction hasn’t deteriorated to that extent.”
Yusto had to agree, “Alright then. After you get your certificate, come find me. I’ll be in the Military Building for class. I’ll take you to complete the accommodation procedures.”
Having provided directions to the Dean’s office, Yusto indicated the floor and then escorted Lu Yuan to the base of the building before leaving.
The Dean’s office was on the 47th floor. As Lu Yuan stood waiting for the elevator, many passing zergs cast curious glances his way, with the majority being males.
Evidently, Lu Yuan’s height and appearance had caused some misunderstandings among them.
At that moment, the elevator conveniently “dinged” open. Lu Yuan stepped inside, immediately pressing the close button, putting an end to the inquisitive or interested gazes from outside.
Meanwhile, General Saphir was still in his office receiving guests. From the loud banging of the table and the angry accusations from the other party, it was not difficult to deduce that an unwelcome visitor had arrived.
“My Wengel was knocked unconscious by that detestable female and is now lying in the hospital unable to get up. Yet, your military department has let the culprit go?! General Saphir, you better give me an explanation, or I’ll make a scene even in front of His Majesty!”
Standing on the opposite side of the desk was a brown-haired male zerg, dressed in an exquisite purple Duke’s attire. His face bore a striking resemblance to Wengel, unmistakably Wengel’s father, Duke Monck. The anger distorted his well-maintained face, indicating the intensity of his fury.
General Saphir had anticipated this confrontation and remained seated, unmoving as a mountain. “Duke Monck, please calm down. The military department has no intention of protecting the culprit. There must be some misunderstanding in this matter.”
“Bang!” Duke Monck slammed the table heavily, General Saphir found it hard to believe that a male zerg could make such a resounding noise by hitting the table. “Misunderstanding?! What misunderstanding?! All I know is that you let the culprit go!”
Throughout his life, Duke Monck had married over a dozen female attendants and had numerous cubs, but there was only one male zerg, Wengel, whom he cherished and wanted to hold in the palm of his hand. Now, for no apparent reason, Wengel had been assaulted, and there was no reason for him to accept this without seeking justice.
General Saphir gestured for him to sit down, “Your Excellency, we are simply following the laws of the empire. The one involved in the conflict with Wengel was not a female zerg but a male zerg.”
Duke Monck clearly didn’t believe it and sneered repeatedly, “General Saphir, are you trying to trample on the dignity of the Monck family? You can fabricate all sorts of nonsense just to protect that culprit!”
General Saphir took out a pre-forged set of identification documents from the drawer. The name field was neatly filled with the two characters “Lu Yuan” and the gender was listed as male. “I have no reason to tell such foolish lies to you. If you don’t believe it, you can verify it yourself.”
Duke Monck, with a puzzled expression, picked up the document and scrutinized it carefully. He mentally reviewed the nobility of the main star, carefully filtering through every aristocratic name, and finally confirmed that there had never been a surname “Lu”.
So, he’s a commoner male zerg?
Duke Monck closed the document, his expression darkening. “Even if he is a male zerg, he should be punished for assaulting my cub. Wengel’s blood purity is far superior to his.”
He spoke the last sentence with unusual certainty and pride.
However, General Saphir easily dismantled his proud assertion with the next words, “Yes, I highly acknowledge the excellence of His Excellency Wengel. However, the military still cannot impose any punishment on His Excellency Lu Yuan.”
Duke Monck’s gaze sharpened, “Why?!”
General Saphir took a moment to consider before saying, “Because His Excellency Lu Yuan is likely a male zerg Crown with a blood purity of 60%, and according to the laws of reproduction, he has absolute immunity.”
The number 100% sounded too fantastical, so General Saphir adjusted it slightly for credibility. After all, Lu Yuan’s blood was influenced by snake venom, making it impossible for anyone to accurately determine his true purity. The priority, for now, was to placate the Monck family, and the details could be dealt with later.
Duke Monck found the statement absurd to the extreme and burst into laughter, “60%? Are you trying to deceive me as if I were a three-year-old zerg? The highest blood purity among the Crowned in the empire is only 56%. Yet, you’re telling me that this commoner male zerg has a blood purity of a whopping 60%?!”
Nobles held absolute priority in mate selection, as powerful unions gave rise to the most outstanding cubs. After generations of purification, Wengel’s 40% purity had been enhanced. It was inconceivable for a commoner male zerg to have such high purity.
“…”
General Saphir remained silent because he also felt that the data he fabricated might be a bit exaggerated. Perhaps saying 50% would have been more reasonable? As long as it could overshadow Wengel, it should suffice.
However, the words were already spoken, and it was not easy to backtrack.
Duke Monck automatically interpreted his silence as uncooperative. With a dark gaze and a cold sneer, he said, “General Saphir, you have truly achieved a great feat for the empire. Since this Crown’s blood purity is so high, I should petition His Majesty to grant him a title. Salaranfa will have another noble Crown in its ranks!”
After expressing his anger, Duke Monck swept his sleeves and left. General Saphir, seeing this, instinctively spoke out to stop him, “Your Excellency—!”
Duke Monck halted at the words, lifting his hand to signal Saphir to stop further remarks. He turned back, coldly casting a glance at the General, “I will report this to the Zerg Emperor. If that commoner male zerg does not have a 60% purity, General Saphir, not only will you be guilty of sheltering a criminal, but you’ll also be guilty of deceiving the Emperor. Prepare to share a cell with him. Farewell!”
With that, he turned and left, slamming the door shut with a loud bang.
Lu Yuan had just taken the elevator up. As he stepped out, he saw a finely dressed middle-aged male zerg storming out of the office, heading toward the elevator with great momentum. A group of frightened servants followed behind him. The scene was quite imposing.
As they passed each other in the corridor, the middle-aged zerg shot him a fierce glare, as if he were looking at an enemy.
Lu Yuan’s eyelid twitched, “?”
Damn, what’s this grumpy old guy glaring at? He didn’t do anything to him!
