As Ah Sui keenly sensed the movement behind him, his expression hardened. With quick reflexes, he pushed Heim and the others aside and drew his longsword with a clang to block. The blade in his hand clashed violently with the sharp claws of the Black Fang, creating a harsh, grating sound. The onlooking interstellar pirates, fearing that they might be caught in the crossfire, hastily retreated, calling out in alarm.
The northern female zergs were generally robust, and Black Fang was among the best of them. With his immense strength, he had few rivals within the Klayt Alliance and fought like a raging bull.
However, Ah Sui’s movements were agile and perfectly suited to counter such clumsy attacks. He consistently dodged Black Fang’s strikes with ease. His longsword wove through the air with such speed that only shadows could be seen. In no time, Black Fang’s outer garment was shredded, and dozens of wounds had appeared on his arms.
Two figures, one black and one white, fought fiercely in the center of the arena. Their battle was so intense that even the snow on the ground was kicked up, revealing the dark brown earth beneath.
Black Fang was on the verge of madness. Desperate, he unfurled his gray wings and flew into the air to avoid Ah Sui’s sword strikes. Letting out a furious roar, he dived downwards, shouting, “I’ll kill you!”
Seeing this, Ah Sui lightly tapped his toes and instantly retreated three yards. Black Fang, however, relentlessly pursued him, diving straight down. Ah Sui had no choice but to lean back to evade the attack, his hair nearly brushing the ground. He then sprang back up like a spring, showcasing his incredible flexibility and strength in his waist.
The female zergs were naturally stronger than the males, and with Black Fang’s wings, his flying ability further enhanced his agility, making him even more formidable. Heim and the others watched anxiously, nervously sweating for Ah Sui, worried that he might not win this life-or-death contest.
However, under the watchful eyes of everyone, Ah Sui suddenly executed a move called “Ma Chao’s Dragon Sparrow.” With a nimble somersault, he leaped into the air and landed directly on Black Fang’s back. Using the force of his stance, he drove his longsword powerfully into Black Fang’s lower back. Black Fang crashed to the ground like a giant beast with broken wings, sending up a cloud of snow and debris.
“Boom——!”
After a deafening thud, the air fell into complete silence.
The interstellar pirates surrounding the arena seemed to have forgotten whose side they were on. They were stunned by Ah Sui’s move, unable to regain their composure for a long time. Even Heim and the other male zergs were left dumbfounded.
Ah Sui remained motionless in the position where he had thrust his sword. After a few seconds, he slowly straightened up. With a swift motion, he withdrew his longsword. Black Fang, lying on the ground, twitched momentarily but did not react, clearly unconscious.
Ah Sui’s black boots landed back on the snow. He scanned the area with a steady gaze, his sword still dripping blood. With a simple yet serious tone, he asked, “Is there anyone else who wants to fight me?”
The surroundings fell into silence, and no interstellar pirate dared to step forward. This time, however, their eyes held no contempt—only a fervent admiration for strength.
Ah Sui waited for a response but, receiving none, he took it as a silent acknowledgment that there was no further challenge. He sheathed his sword with a reverse motion, thinking it was strange how everyone here had wings, making it much easier than practicing lightness skills.
With the battle concluded, Ah Sui waved to the stunned Heim and the others, saying, “Come over, let’s go.”
Through a transparent glass pane, the howling cold wind outside could still be faintly heard.
By the porthole inside the starship, a golden-haired, blue-eyed female zerg had appeared at some point. He stood quietly by the window, having witnessed the entire battle. His refined face gained a bit of warmth under the sparse winter sunlight. His brows furrowed and relaxed alternately, making it difficult to discern his true feelings.
Blairand was impressed by the young male’s skills.
At the same time, he felt that the situation was quite troublesome.
He had already found it difficult to escape from the interstellar pirates’ lair, and now he was surprised to see that this male zerg was so agile. The days ahead were likely to be even more challenging.
Seeing Ah Sui approaching with the other male zergs, Blairand shifted his feet, preparing to return to his cage. However, he saw that they did not come back but instead turned and entered the adjacent starship.
Ah Sui had the impression that the beautiful captive in the cage was somewhat agitated and had a tendency to bite, so he didn’t dare bring Heim and the others onto his own starship. Instead, he led them directly onto Xu Chenfeng’s starship.
“Stay here for now.”
Although this starship was somewhat small, it was divided into several compartments, enough to accommodate dozens of people. With only three male zergs and four from Xu Chenfeng, there was more than enough space.
Seeing that Ah Sui was now the interstellar pirate leader, Heim swallowed hard and couldn’t help but ask, “Ah Sui, now that you’re the leader, could you help us get home?”
Ah Sui blinked in confusion, making it hard to tell if he was genuinely naive or just pretending: “But didn’t you say you would wait for the Empire to pay the ransom to get you back?”
Heim, desperate, replied, “We can’t wait any longer! If we do, we’ll definitely die! Black Fang is a pervert, and it’s possible that other leaders are the same. Sooner or later, we’ll be taken back to serve them!”
This statement was met with a chorus of agreement:
“Yes, yes! Those interstellar pirates all look fierce and menacing. Serving them would shorten our lives by years!”
“Ah Sui, please think of a way to get us back home.”
But they clearly underestimated one thing: Ah Sui was currently a new leader with no resources—no money, no team, no weapons. If he tried to escape with them, they would surely be pursued and intercepted by the interstellar pirates.
Ah Sui, feeling a bit embarrassed, said, “But I don’t have anything right now. I can’t take you back home. How about waiting a bit longer? I’ll take you back later.”
Heim recalled that many interstellar pirates had supported Black Fang during the fight and tentatively asked, “Ah Sui, you don’t still not have your own team, do you?”
Unexpectedly, Ah Sui replied, “I do.”
Ah Sui pointed at the three of them, then at the adjacent starship, and cheerfully said, “I currently have two starships, a strategist, and the three of you.”
Having grown up in a poor area, where the fanciest toy he had as a child was a small toy airplane bought by his great-grandfather, Ah Sui was quite satisfied with suddenly having two large starships. It felt like a poor person suddenly becoming rich.
Heim and the others couldn’t help but fall into a daze, unable to believe that the mighty leader was actually in such a dire situation.
“…”
After an awkward silence, Heim couldn’t help but ask, “Ah Sui, do you know how many starships and subordinates Black Fang and Carlos have?”
Ah Sui shook his head.
Heim, frustrated, replied, “Black Fang, the Third Leader, has a total of twelve combat starships. Carlos, the Second Leader, has even more—sixteen. Each of them commands at least a hundred subordinates. How come you, as the Grand Leader, only have so little?!”
Besides, the three of them are completely useless—they can’t even carry a load or lift a finger. What’s the difference from being useless?!
Ah Sui was somewhat surprised, not expecting that Black Fang and Carlos had so many starships. “Why do they have so many?”
Heim replied, “Need you ask? They’re interstellar pirates, of course, they’ve taken them by force.”
Ah Sui’s eyes lit up upon hearing this. He immediately jumped up from the ground, eager and enthusiastic, “Where should we go to take them?! I want to go too!”
Practitioners of martial arts often have a strong desire for victory, and the idea of forming their own interstellar fleet sounded thrilling. Ah Sui couldn’t resist the temptation and was itching to seize ten or eight starships right away.
However, Heim and the others quickly extinguished Ah Sui’s enthusiasm: “These combat starships aren’t sold on the market; they’re only circulated within the military. The starships Black Fang and the others were certainly captured during battles with the Imperial forces. If you want to seize them, you’ll have to wait until the Empire sends troops again.”
Hearing this, Ah Sui’s excitement deflated instantly, like a balloon that had been popped. He raked his fingers through his hair and said to Heim and the others, “Well, if that’s the case, there’s nothing I can do. I’ll let you go secretly when the next time the military comes. For now, you’ll stay here for the next few days.”
Heim was still somewhat shaken: “What if Black Fang and the others come back?”
Ah Sui twirled his sword in a graceful arc and replied, “What’s there to be afraid of? I’m right next door. If anything happens, just shout loudly. I’ll come right over.”
Ah Sui, with his straightforward nature, quickly settled Heim and the others before leaving. When Xu Chenfeng and his procurement team returned around noon, they were unfazed to learn that Ah Sui had fought with Black Fang in the morning and had taken three male zergs onto his own starship. Xu Chenfeng merely advised:
“Black Fang has a strong sense of revenge. Be careful of him in the future.”
Xu Chenfeng and his team had disguised themselves that morning and went to a nearby town to buy a large quantity of supplies. During their visit, they learned that the entire star network was on high alert for them, suggesting they would need to relocate soon.
Although Ah Sui was a newly appointed leader, the interstellar pirates still gave him some respect. They were the first to deliver supplies to him for selection. Ah Sui rummaged through a few sets of clean clothes and some cake biscuits before preparing to leave with satisfaction.
Xu Chenfeng casually picked up some supplies but suddenly noticed that the key to the iron cage he had left by his seat was missing. He stopped Ah Sui, who was about to leave, and called out, “Wen Suizhi, where is the key I left here?”
The use of Ah Sui’s full name, Wen Suizhi, by Xu Chenfeng indicated that this was a serious matter.
Upon hearing this, Ah Sui paused and deliberately played dumb: “Key? What key? I didn’t see any.”
Xu Chenfeng’s tone was suspicious: “You really didn’t see it?”
Ah Sui shook his head vigorously, like a rattle drum: “Didn’t see it, Brother Chenfeng. I have something to do, so I’ll be going now.”
Xu Chenfeng was straightforward but not foolish. Xu Chenfeng always thought that Blairand was dangerous. If he knew that the cage had been opened, he would definitely lock it again. With that in mind, Ah Sui quickly made his escape, hurrying back to his starship and closing the door tightly behind him.
The time was approaching late night, and everything around was silent.
Blairand sat quietly in the cage, leaning against it as he glanced out the porthole. His gaze swept over the rolling black mountains and barren tree branches, trying to discern his location based on the terrain. The conclusion he reached was that they were getting closer to the north.
This was not good news for him, as the northern region and the western region had always been at odds and would never allow each other to invade their territory. The Klayt Alliance had been shifting further north, clearly trying to take shelter under the protection of the northern region. This would only increase the difficulty of the military rescue operations.
Blairand lowered his gaze, unconsciously rubbing the cold iron chain on his wrist. He planned to find an opportunity to escape once he had regained his strength, but the young man spent most of the day cooped up in the starship, making it inconvenient to act.
Just as Blairand was lost in thought, the starship cabin door suddenly opened automatically. A figure in white walked in—it was Ah Sui.
Blairand saw Ah Sui carrying a large pile of items, which he dumped onto the seat, creating a high mound. Ah Sui then turned to close the starship cabin door and pulled down the blinds on the porthole, plunging the room into dimness, with only the warm, ambiguous light from the illumination lamps providing any visibility.
When Carlos initially handed Blairand over, it was not only to strip him of his wings but also to serve the purpose of warming the leader’s bed. Ah Sui’s series of actions easily gave rise to misunderstandings.
Seeing this, Blairand froze, his fingers clenching silently. The force was so great that it left a bloodstain on his palm.
Blairand could disregard the interstellar pirates’ lashes, but he could not ignore such intimate matters. If Ah Sui truly intended to mark him later, he might not be able to fight him off or refuse him.
This realization made his heart sink for a moment.
Ah Sui, worried that Xu Chenfeng might come and discover that he had opened the cage, made sure to cover all the windows tightly, which relieved his mind. He was about to head to the bathroom for a shower when he turned and saw the golden-haired beauty in the cage staring coldly at him, causing him to pause in his movements.
“…”
Ah Sui felt a bit scared.
He quietly turned to avoid Blairand’s cold gaze, grabbed a set of clean pajamas from the seat, and quickly walked into the shower room, closing the door with a decisive click.
Ah Sui could comfortably beat up villains like Black Fang, but he wasn’t as willing to fight with someone as beautiful as Blairand. He took a careful shower, contemplating the possibility of locking the cage at night. After all, what if that beautiful person took the opportunity to bite his fingers while he was asleep?
Ah Sui was feeling a bit troubled.
After finishing his shower, he came out in clean pajamas, smelling fresh and clean.
Seeing this, Blairand’s back tensed up, and he instinctively pressed himself against the back of the iron cage, with nowhere to retreat. He discreetly wrapped the shackles around his palms multiple times, planning to strangle the male zerg if it tried to force itself on him.
However, Ah Sui walked over to the neatly arranged bedding, slid in with a whoosh, and curled up comfortably inside, wrapping himself up like a caterpillar.
He hid under the covers, with only his fluffy head visible, holding a handful of colorful candies and seriously counting them.
Two green candies represented two starships.
Four blue candies represented Xu Chenfeng and the other male zergs.
One yellow candy represented the golden-haired beauty in the cage.
This was all of Ah Sui the Great Leader’s wealth.
So little.
Ah Sui lay on the pillow, unable to sleep due to his financial troubles. He envied Black Fang’s starships and crew but lacked subordinates and weapons. With no military forces coming to fight, there was no place to seize anything.
Thinking about this, Ah Sui suddenly turned his head to look at the wary Blairand in the cage and curiously asked, “Do you have a starship?”
The news had mentioned that this beautiful person was a major general in the military, which sounded like a very high rank.
Blairand was taken aback by the question: “…”
Ah Sui’s topic was so abrupt and out of the blue that Blairand didn’t know how to respond.
After waiting for a while without receiving a reply, Ah Sui simply gave up. He wrapped himself tightly in the thick quilt, pulled out a jar of anti-freeze ointment from under the pillow, and carefully applied it to his face and hands. Even from a meter away, Blairand could smell the pleasant fragrance coming from Ah Sui.
“…”
This interstellar pirate was quite refined.
Unlike his fierce appearance during the day, Ah Sui looked harmless at night. He lay under the covers, eating candy and playing a popular starship game on his terminal, without any unusual behavior throughout.
Blairand watched him for a long time, so long that his eyes began to ache. Finally, he relaxed his vigilance slightly and slowly withdrew his gaze. He should have been resting, but he frowned at the strong smell of blood on himself.
Blairand glanced at Ah Sui, who was deeply engrossed in his game and completely unaware of what was happening.
“…”
After a lengthy silence, Blairand finally couldn’t hold back and said, “I want to take a shower…”
Ah Sui paused at the words, his ears twitching slightly.
Blairand lowered his gaze and calmly repeated, “I want to take a shower.”
Southern female zergs were famous for their beauty and their love of cleanliness. Due to the severe torture, Blairand hadn’t had a chance to clean himself for a long time. Not knowing if it was because Ah Sui seemed more approachable than Carlos, he hesitated for a moment but still made the request.
