In the Klayt Alliance, there was always a doctor on standby. As Ah Sui carried the unconscious Blairand onto the starship, he gently placed him in the spot where he had previously slept and then ordered the guards outside to summon a doctor.
Blairand, in his dazed state, only felt someone undoing his clothing. The sudden sharp pain as the blood-soaked fabric was pulled away from his skin made him frown deeply and struggle instinctively. However, a hand firmly grasped his fingertips.
“Shh, don’t move around. It will be fine once the medicine is applied.”
Ah Sui leaned in and held Blairand’s restless hands down to make it easier for the doctor to tend to his wounds. The familiar scent suddenly close by helped calm the female zerg a little.
As the doctor cleaned the bloodstains on Blairand, he shook his head, lamenting that Second Leader Carlos’s methods had become increasingly ruthless. He applied the special medicine to the intersecting wounds and checked the zerg markings on Blairand’s neck. “Grand Leader, should we restrain him with shackles? This female zerg has entered the estrus period and could undergo metamorphosis at any moment, which is quite dangerous.”
The team was currently low on suppressants and couldn’t inject Blairand. When interstellar pirates have chaotic mental states, they usually resolve it by finding a male zerg to sleep with.
When Ah Sui heard the term “estrus,” his expression momentarily turned strange. Hearing “metamorphosis”, his tone grew even more perplexed: “What do you mean by metamorphosis?”
The doctor wondered how the Grand Leader didn’t even know this: “It means completely losing rationality and turning into a zerg form. For safety, you’d best mark this female zerg.”
After saying this, the doctor quickly tidied up his medical kit and left the starship, leaving Ah Sui standing there in a daze.
Metamorphosis?
Ah Sui looked down at Blairand’s delicate, pale face and couldn’t help but poke him, then touch his fingertips. He thought to himself, “How can someone so alive turn into a bug? The doctor must be lying.”
Worried that Blairand might have a fever, Ah Sui kept vigil by his side with his sword, not daring to leave even a step. He unconsciously traced the patterns on the sword’s hilt, feeling a bit upset. He had clearly said he would find a chance to let Blairand go, so why did he still try to escape?
Ah Sui was in low spirits all day and didn’t even have the appetite to eat. When Blairand groggily woke up from his coma in the evening, he saw a familiar figure sitting beside him. The zerg had their head lowered, their lips pressed together, looking very silent. Their profile was cast in shadow, much like the heavy clouds outside.
I’m back again…
Blairand thought dejectedly, ‘Why can’t I escape?’
He moved his fingertips slightly, clutching at Ah Sui’s clothing bit by bit, and hoarsely said, “Come here, I need to talk to you…”
Ah Sui was still upset, but upon hearing Blairand call him, he reluctantly moved closer and asked gruffly, “Do you want some water?”
Blairand closed his eyes and shook his head. Struggling to control the chaotic mental energy in his mind, he murmured intermittently into Ah Sui’s ear, “Be careful of Black Fang and Carlos… When I passed by the logistics camp yesterday… I saw them bribing a cook to harm you…”
Ah Sui was taken aback by this and instinctively looked at Blairand, who, with a furrowed brow, urged, “Be wary of all the food they send.”
Ah Sui knew that both Black Fang and Carlos were resentful of him. Although the idea of poisoning seemed outrageous, it wasn’t entirely impossible. This was his first encounter with such a situation, and he unconsciously tightened his grip on his fingertips, nodding in agreement, “Got it. I won’t eat the food they send.”
There was still plenty of water and compressed biscuits in the reserve cabin, so even without eating regular meals, one could survive for quite a long time.
Blairand thought it was really foolish. Ah Sui could go without food for a day, but could he really last for months? If Carlos and the others failed to poison him, they would surely come up with other schemes. Avoidance was not a long-term solution.
Blairand took a labored breath. His already pale complexion had become almost transparent due to blood loss. His golden long hair was spread out on the pillow, with its naturally curved waves. His blue eyes, like the most lustrous jade, now showed a hint of the sharpness unique to a military female zerg: “If you want to survive, you must get rid of those two.”
Blairand had expected that Ah Sui would listen to him, but instead, the male zerg only glanced at him briefly before looking away: “I don’t believe you anymore.”
Blairand was taken aback by this response.
Ah Sui, with his head lowered and his hand resting on his sword, refused to look at him: “You ran away secretly yesterday without telling me, showing that you didn’t consider me a friend. I’m not going to listen to you. They are interstellar pirates, and I am an interstellar pirate too. After you deal with them, you’ll bring your army to kill me.”
Ah Sui was actually just being stubborn, but his reaction left Blairand feeling choked with anger. This fool slept so soundly every night that if he truly wanted to kill him, Ah Sui would have been dead hundreds of times over.
Blairand regretted not leaving in time yesterday and lingering to eavesdrop. Not only did it delay his escape, but he also received a beating. This male zerg clearly didn’t appreciate his concern. After a pause, Blairand finally said, “…Do as you please. Anyway, I’m not the one being poisoned.”
Ah Sui, seemingly upset, said nothing in response. He picked up his sword and walked directly out of the starship. Blairand heard the sound of the cabin door closing and instinctively tried to sit up from the bed, but the pain made him pale and he collapsed back down.
Blairand furrowed his brows, trying to soothe the stabbing pain from his wounds as he weakly sank into the pillow. He realized his wounds had already been treated and regretted arguing with Ah Sui earlier. If Ah Sui, out of spite, went to confront Carlos and the others, it would only bring trouble upon himself.
Ah Sui was nowhere to be seen for nearly two hours. When he finally returned to the starship, he was carrying a large supply box filled with compressed biscuits and drinking water.
Blairand, who had been too anxious to sleep, finally relaxed when he saw Ah Sui come back. He propped himself up slightly, preparing to say something, but saw Ah Sui approaching with a bottle of water and a bag of bread.
The male zerg was still clearly upset, keeping his eyes lowered and unwilling to speak, but his hands remained busy. Ah Sui twisted open the bottle of water and handed it to Blairand, simply saying, “Drink.”
Blairand’s lashes fluttered momentarily. Obediently, he took the bottle and drank, only to realize that the water was warm, clearly having been heated. He looked at Ah Sui and asked, “What were you doing earlier?”
Ah Sui didn’t want to answer: “I’m not telling you.”
Fine.
Blairand guessed that Ah Sui was still upset.
Outside, the dusk was deep, and the quiet was almost unnerving. Blairand had a light meal, and before long, sleepiness began to hit him like a tidal wave. He saw that Ah Sui had given up his bed for him and gently pulled the blanket down from his shoulders, offering it to him. “It’s getting late. You should go to sleep.”
Ah Sui, however, did not take it. He tucked the blanket back around Blairand and said, “I’m not tired. I don’t want to sleep.”
Blairand, unable to persuade him otherwise, had to lie back down under the blanket. He felt a subtle sensation rise within him. After all, in Salaranfa, only male zergs were supposed to be cared for, and the well-being of female zergs was often disregarded.
Whether it was due to his injuries or not, Blairand developed a high fever in the latter part of the night, feeling alternately cold and hot. Ah Sui touched his forehead and found him to be ice-cold. He was about to go fetch a blanket when he was suddenly grasped by the hand of the female zerg.
Ah Sui’s palm was dry and warm, and it felt very comforting.
Blairand felt as if he had fallen into a cold, damp pit, desperately needing some warmth. He instinctively clutched Ah Sui’s hand, pressing his icy cheek tightly against it, and murmured in a low, plaintive voice, “So cold…”
Hearing Blairand say he was cold, Ah Sui’s anger faded, and he quickly grabbed a blanket to cover him, asking softly, “Does this help a bit?”
Blairand continued to shiver, unable to generate any warmth. The south was a place of perpetual spring, far less frigid than the north. At night, the temperature dropped sharply, and a cup of water would freeze almost instantly. His injuries were too severe, and he clearly couldn’t adjust to such drastic temperature changes.
Seeing this, Ah Sui had no choice but to lie down on the bed with Blairand. He held him tightly through the blanket and asked softly, “Does this help?”
Through the blanket, the female zerg couldn’t feel his warmth.
In the darkness, Blairand fumbled slowly. In his dazed state, he wasn’t sure whether he lifted the blanket or if Ah Sui had crawled in, but they finally broke through the last barrier between them.
Blairand buried his face in Ah Sui’s neck, instinctively rubbing lightly. He inhaled the sweet, pheromone scent of the male zerg. His cold body temperature rapidly increased, and his pale skin even began to take on a faint blush.
Seeing this, Ah Sui’s heart began to race uncontrollably. He knew Blairand was a man, but the other’s beauty was so striking that he often overlooked this fact. Now, being so closely held, Ah Sui felt an awkwardness akin to interacting with the opposite sex.
What should I do?
In the darkness, Ah Sui’s ears turned red, and he felt somewhat at a loss.
Blairand was naked, and Ah Sui, looking down, could see the crisscrossed scars on his back, with his sensual shoulder blades slightly protruding. This was where the female zerg’s wings would unfold. Unable to resist his curiosity, Ah Sui touched it, but Blairand suddenly shivered and let out a low, hoarse moan, “Don’t touch…”
The voice was suggestive and intimate, almost like an invitation.
The zerg markings on Blairand’s neck felt intensely hot. Driven by instinct, he pursued the scent of Ah Sui, but a layer of clothing blocked his way. His fingertips lightly unfastened Ah Sui’s clothes, and the sensation of skin touching skin brought both a sharp pain and a deep sense of satisfaction.
Ah Sui felt that Blairand should no longer be cold, as he was burning up with heat. He instinctively loosened his embrace, only to be suddenly pinned down by Blairand.
Blairand’s eyes were no longer the initial blue but had taken on a faint crimson hue. He pressed his forehead against Ah Sui’s, his light golden hair slipping down to cover most of his shoulder. His scorching kisses gradually fell upon Ah Sui’s brows, his nose, and finally, his lips—
Ah Sui felt the warm sensation on his lips and his pupils suddenly contracted. His mind went blank. Instinctively, he tried to push Blairand away, but Blairand suddenly forced open his mouth, probing with a flexible, soft tongue.
For such matters, female zergs usually learn instinctively, especially when their rationality is lost, leaving only their primal instincts.
Ah Sui’s gaze was confused and scattered, his head spinning from the kisses of the female zerg. It wasn’t until Blairand silently removed his pants under the blanket that Ah Sui suddenly snapped awake and immediately grabbed Blairand’s hands, saying, “Stop!”
Although Ah Sui didn’t know exactly what Blairand was doing, he instinctively felt a sense of panic. Meanwhile, Blairand, unable to tolerate the separation, nuzzled his neck. Tears even welled up at the corners of his eyes, and his cold, beautiful face, touched by desire, looked breathtakingly beautiful under the moonlight. He softly uttered two words: “Mark… me…”
Blairand was tortured by the unbearable sensation, nearly driven to madness. He pleaded almost tearfully, “Please, mark me…”
Ah Sui paused for a moment. In the darkness, he silently raised his hand and directly pressed on the sleeping acupoint on Blairand’s neck. As Blairand’s shoulders slumped, he fell into a deep sleep, collapsing onto Ah Sui.
“…”
The air was filled with silence, only broken by Ah Sui’s still-uneven breaths. His eyelashes fluttered as he turned Blairand back onto the bed, then turned his head away, blushing as he quietly helped him put his pants back on.
How strange…
Ah Sui thought Blairand had seemed like a completely different person just now, having lost all rationality. Could this be what the doctor meant by the estrus period?
Having grown up in the mountains, Ah Sui only knew that some animals mated during specific seasons, but he couldn’t understand why people here also had estrus periods. Blairand seemed rational and calm, unlike the animals without intelligence.
Ah Sui didn’t dare to continue sleeping under the blanket. After covering Blairand with the blanket, he returned to his original spot. He seemed somewhat distracted, and his sharp, black-and-white eyes appeared to have changed. It was as if a clean, blank sheet of paper had been suddenly painted with the hues of desire, now carrying an unspoken, complicated emotional burden.
The next morning, as Blairand slowly woke from his sleep, he saw Ah Sui sitting beside him, staring blankly. The male zerg had a bite mark on his lower lip, and the redness and swelling had not yet subsided.
Blairand’s expression changed slightly upon seeing this. He unconsciously lowered his head to sniff himself and found a strong scent of male pheromones lingering that wouldn’t dissipate. His heart sank immediately.
Although he had lost his rationality yesterday, it wasn’t as if he had completely lost consciousness. Blairand had thought it was all just a fever-induced dream, but it turned out to be real.
“Ugh—”
Blairand suddenly sat up in bed, startling the dazed Ah Sui. He instinctively looked at Blairand, his expression somewhat at a loss. “What’s wrong?”
“…”
Blairand didn’t speak. He stared blankly at Ah Sui, unsure of what to say. Seeing Ah Sui’s confused gaze, he instinctively turned his head away. “Nothing…”
After a pause, Blairand finally said, “It’s nothing.”
He appeared calm, but was actually unable to control his panic. Blairand noticed that he was shirtless and quietly used the blanket to cover himself. His golden hair cascaded down, covering most of his profile. “Where are my clothes from yesterday?”
Ah Sui got up and retrieved a blood-soaked garment from the chair behind him, handing it to Blairand. He noticed that the long rope tassel he had given Blairand was tied to one of the buttons, causing him to pause.
Seeing this, Blairand quietly explained, “After they captured me yesterday, I was afraid I’d lose it, so I tied it to the button…”
Ah Sui nodded without saying anything. He handed the garment to Blairand and said, “This piece of clothing is already dirty. Should I find you a new one?”
Blairand didn’t actually plan to keep the bloodstained, torn garment. He lowered his head and removed the tassel tied to the button before saying, “Then find me a new one.”
Feeling a bit embarrassed about what happened yesterday, he kept his eyes down. However, Ah Sui was considerate and carefully brought over a set of clean, warm clothing for him. “Your wounds can’t come into contact with water right now. You can bathe once they’ve scabbed over.”
He knew that Blairand preferred cleanliness and would likely want to bathe.
Blairand took the clothes and, finally looking at Ah Sui, asked quietly, “Are you still angry with me?”
Ah Sui remained silent. He stared at the floor for a moment before replying, “Yes, I’m angry. Don’t lie to me next time. Those interstellar pirates are dangerous, and I can’t keep saving you every time.”
Fortunately, he had woken up early today. If he had been any later, Carlos might have already executed Blairand.
Blairand wanted to explain that he hadn’t lied to Ah Sui, but simply hadn’t told him when he left. However, he didn’t argue and gently nodded, his voice warm and subtly regaining the noble demeanor of a refined young master. “Alright, I won’t lie to you next time.”
Hearing this, Ah Sui finally looked pleased. “I’ll go ask Brother Cenfeng when you can be released. Don’t worry, I won’t keep you locked up here forever.”
Brother Cenfeng?
This name wasn’t unfamiliar to Blairand, as Ah Sui often mentioned “Brother Cenfeng” in conversation, making it sound quite affectionate.
Blairand lowered his eyes, lost in thought. He gently bit the black and gold tassel, then lifted his hand to gather the golden strands of hair that had fallen onto his shoulders. His slender fingers swiftly tied the hair into a neat ponytail.
Seemingly casually, he asked, “Who is Brother Cenfeng?”
Ah Sui explained, “He used to live in the village next to mine. We grew up together.”
So, they were childhood friends.
Blairand was about to say something when he suddenly heard the sound of the starship’s cabin door slowly opening. A young zerg with black hair and black eyes walked in. Due to the color of his eyes and hair, he closely resembled Ah Sui at first glance.
Blairand had never seen this zerg in the interstellar pirate crew before. He furrowed his brows, feeling a bit puzzled. However, Ah Sui’s face lit up with excitement as he stood up from the floor, exclaiming, “Brother Cenfeng! What are you doing here?”
He said this with a bounce in his step, like an excited little dog.
