Ah Sui didn’t know where he had gone wrong, but Blairand had been almost silent all day. When evening finally arrived, Ah Sui noticed that Blairand was holding a set of clean clothes, seemingly intending to take a bath. Instinctively, Ah Sui stepped in front of the bathroom door to block it.
Seeing this, Blairand stopped in his tracks and looked up at Ah Sui. “What are you doing?”
Ah Sui pointed at his shoulder. “Your wound hasn’t healed yet. You can’t take a bath and get it wet.”
Blairand thought to himself that the other zerg seemed to have become smart all of a sudden. How come during the day, his words seemed so deliberate? He draped the clothes over his arm and disregarded Ah Sui’s words. “It’s fine. It won’t affect it.”
But Ah Sui didn’t move aside, unusually stubborn. “No, the doctor said you can’t wash.”
Blairand: “…”
Blairand couldn’t do anything about it. Since he couldn’t overpower Ah Sui, he simply turned around in silence and walked away from the bathroom door.
Ah Sui had hoped for an argument, perhaps a few more words, but instead, Blairand went straight back to the bed and sat down, then turned his back to Ah Sui while unbuttoning his shirt.
Ah Sui was taken aback by this and walked over, asking, “What are you doing?”
Blairand undid his shirt and slid it down to his arms, revealing the red, swollen whip marks on his back. He handed a tube of wound gel to Ah Sui and explained softly, “Apply this to the wounds. It’s waterproof.”
So it was for the bath.
Ah Sui had no choice but to take the gel, open the cap, and begin applying it to Blairand’s wounds slowly. His movements were very gentle, and he would check Blairand’s reaction with each application, afraid of causing him any pain.
Blairand didn’t complain of any pain throughout the process. His eyes were slightly lowered as he glanced back at Ah Sui, only to see him attentively applying the medication. Blairand suddenly asked, “Do these wounds look very ugly?”
His voice was a bit hoarse, low and faint in the night, carrying an inexplicable hint of intimacy. The shoulder blades on his back were slightly protruding, creating a sensuous effect. His pale skin was like a canvas, and the red, swollen whip marks took on a bizarre, almost aesthetic beauty.
Upon hearing Blairand’s words, Ah Sui instinctively shook his head. “It doesn’t look bad.”
He then added, “You’re very handsome.”
But Blairand couldn’t help but question whether he was really handsome, given the way Ah Sui’s hands were so methodical. He closed his eyes and held his breath, trying to avoid the pheromones emanating from Ah Sui. He thought to himself that he must have been out of his mind to let a male zerg apply medicine for him.
Ah Sui had finished applying the gel to Blairand’s back and had even blown gently on the wounds to speed up the drying time. “Do you need me to apply it to the front as well?”
Blairand hesitated for a moment but ultimately declined. “No need, I’ll do it myself.”
Having grown up with noble education, Blairand found it already quite out of line to expose his body in front of a male zerg, let alone have Ah Sui apply medicine for him. Such an action might be considered “depraved” in the Western regions.
Ah Sui felt an inexplicable sense of regret but obediently handed the gel box to Blairand. He endured for a while before finally asking in a low voice from behind, “Are you angry with me today?”
Blairand, who had been applying the gel to his wounds with a brisk, impersonal touch, paused upon hearing Ah Sui’s question. “…What would you do if I were angry?”
He actually wanted to ask why this male zerg cared whether he was angry or not.
Ah Sui, realizing Blairand was indeed upset, moved closer and felt a faint blush rise to his ears out of nervousness. Despite this, his tone remained sincere and straightforward, making it hard for anyone to stay angry. “If you were angry, I’d do everything I can to make you happy.”
Blairand had never seen such a genuinely innocent zerg before. He felt an unexpected softness in his heart and asked with interest, “How would you make me happy?”
Ah Sui truly didn’t know much about soothing people. “Would it be okay if I gave you a shoulder massage and back rub?”
In the past, when his great-grandfather was angry, Ah Sui would run over and give him a shoulder massage and back rub. It was quite effective—eight times out of ten, it worked.
So naïve.
Blairand said nothing, removed his shirt, and tossed it aside as he prepared to go to the bathroom. As he stood up, he noticed Ah Sui’s moist, animal-like eyes fixed on him. An impulse made him gently brush his fingertips against Ah Sui’s pale cheek.
It was so light that Ah Sui almost didn’t notice the touch, as if it were just a slight brush as Blairand got up.
Blairand went to the bathroom to take a shower, leaving Ah Sui sitting on the floor, staring at the lone bed, pondering how they would sleep tonight.
Ah Sui had initially planned to set up another bed, but with the increasing scarcity of cold-resistant supplies in the northern region, even the Grand Leader couldn’t get much bedding—at most, they could dig out a few extra blankets.
At night, Blairand intended to make do with the chair, but he found that Ah Sui had already taken the initiative to sleep on the chair with a blanket, leaving the bed for him. “You sleep in the bed, I’ll sleep in the chair.”
In truth, it didn’t matter to Blairand where he slept; as a military female, he had endured harsher conditions in the wild. “Aren’t you afraid of the cold?”
Ah Sui, having trained in martial arts, wasn’t afraid of the cold at all. He just preferred to stay in warm places. “You’re injured. We’ll talk about it once you’re healed.”
After saying this, Ah Sui seemed worried that Blairand might disagree, so he wrapped himself tightly in the blanket and turned his back to sleep.
How could this zerg possibly resemble an interstellar pirate?
Blairand stared at Ah Sui’s back for a moment, unable to make sense of it. In the end, he could only pull back the covers and lie down on the bed. He closed his eyes, rubbing his shoulder, silently enduring the sharp pain that surged through his mind, almost unable to control his agitation due to the estrus period.
Blairand still hadn’t given up on the idea of escaping the interstellar pirates hideout. The difference now was that he was thinking about how to persuade Ah Sui to escape with him.
Ah Sui, similarly wide awake, lay in the blankets, troubled by another issue—how to recruit soldiers and acquire resources.
He had been deeply affected by the concept of “poverty.” His goal had shifted from initially finding his grandfather to becoming the most powerful and wealthy interstellar pirate. However, putting this into practice was quite challenging. With the Klayt Alliance stationed in the desolate wilderness, not only was recruiting troops difficult, but even obtaining food and water was a problem.
But Ah Sui didn’t expect that an opportunity would come so quickly.
In the following days, their team continued to retreat north, but along the way, they suddenly encountered a tourist starship heading west. Predictably, Black Fang led a team to attack and capture the starship, seizing all the supplies and taking the tourists back to their camp, bound with ropes.
“Damn it! What bad luck, not a single male zerg on board!”
When Black Fang returned to the camp, he was cursing and clearly in a foul mood. He gathered the captured prisoners in the open area of the camp, venting his frustration by giving them several harsh lashes. He bitterly regretted the wasted ammunition and ordered his subordinates:
“Dig a pit and bury all these female zergs. We can’t afford to have them revealing our whereabouts. With the current shortage of supplies, I don’t have spare rations to feed so many mouths!”
In the past, these female zergs might have been kept as laborers, but now that the Klayt Alliance was in a state of fleeing, they couldn’t afford to keep a group of idle zergs. Keeping them around was more of a liability, so it was better to end it all at once.
As soon as Black Fang issued this order, the bound captives began pleading for mercy. Some zergs, in their panic, tried to escape, only to be kicked back by the interstellar pirates on guard. “Stay put! If you make any more noise, I’ll shoot you on the spot!”
Black Fang had been severely beaten by Ah Sui a few days ago. Despite any ulterior motives he might have had, he at least appeared to be somewhat compliant on the surface. He waved his hand, signaling the guards to stop dealing with the captives and said in a deep voice, “Go, get the Grand Leader and the others out to distribute the supplies.”
The so-called distribution of supplies was actually a division of spoils, where all the various leaders were summoned to select and claim the looted goods based on their level of power and influence.
This was Ah Sui’s first time encountering such a situation. When he heard the guard’s announcement, he was momentarily stunned. As he was preparing to go out and see what was happening, a voice suddenly called out from behind him, “Wait—”
Ah Sui turned around to see Blairand approaching him. “I want to take a look as well. Is that okay?”
Blairand had been staying inside the starship to recuperate and rarely made appearances, so it was surprising when he suddenly expressed a desire to go out.
However, Ah Sui wasn’t one to overthink things. Noticing Blairand’s thin clothing, he pulled a thick jacket from the seat and handed it to him. “It’s cold outside. Wear something warmer.”
The jacket was one Ah Sui had worn the day before, but Blairand accepted it without hesitation and naturally put it on. To other interstellar pirates, this beautiful military female had become the Grand Leader’s new favorite, always by his side, never leaving him. Yet, if they observed closely, they would notice that the zerg markings on Blairand’s neck had not changed color at all.
In the center of the camp, a group of zergs had already gathered, with Ah Sui being the last to arrive. He was dressed in a pure black Klayt Alliance uniform and held an antique long sword. Despite his face being overly youthful and fair, his silence and demeanor conveyed a certain cold, imposing authority.
Only Blairand knew that this was all an act.
Several low-ranking underlings had piled all the looted goods from the starship in the open area. The various backpacks were filled with cash and luxury jewelry, along with several star cards and expensive electronic devices. Once they reached the main city, these items could be exchanged for star coins.
Black Fang was reluctant but had to follow the rules. He bowed slightly to Ah Sui and said, “Grand Leader, please feel free to select the supplies first.”
After all, there were no male zergs on this starship, and he had no interest in the remaining miscellaneous items. Even if he let Ah Sui choose first, Ah Sui wouldn’t be able to take anything particularly valuable.
However, Ah Sui didn’t even glance at the supplies. He surveyed the area and suddenly pointed to the bound captives in the middle of the space and asked, “Can I take them?”
Upon hearing this, the entire camp was thrown into an uproar. Not only were the other leaders stunned, but even Blairand was taken aback. Female zergs were less valuable compared to males; they were mostly a waste of resources and served no other purpose. Why would Ah Sui want to take so many female zergs?
Black Fang clearly misunderstood, commenting with sarcasm, “There are over thirty female zergs here. Your appetite must be quite large—you could have a different one every night.”
Other leaders couldn’t help but retort, “And you’re no different, hugging male zergs to sleep every night. What’s the harm if the Grand Leader wants a few pretty female zergs for warmth?”
Black Fang sneered, “As long as the Grand Leader doesn’t use the Alliance’s resources to keep these idle zergs, he can take as many as he wants. It’s none of my concern.”
Hearing their conversation, Blairand frowned and glanced at Ah Sui, as if to say something. However, Ah Sui had already approached the captives with his sword in hand, intending to inspect their physical condition. “Stand up and let me see you.”
The female zergs crouched on the ground exchanged bewildered glances, unable to hide their surprise. They clearly hadn’t expected that the renowned Klayt Alliance would have a male zerg as their Grand Leader and were momentarily unsure if they were seeing things.
Seeing that the captives remained motionless, the interstellar pirates nearby pointed their guns at them and coldly shouted, “Didn’t you hear the Grand Leader? Stand up!”
At Ah Sui’s command, the captives quickly stood up in fear. Ah Sui signaled for the interstellar pirates to lower their guns and then began to pace back and forth, inspecting each of the bound female zergs. He finally raised his hand and tapped their chests.
Female zergs generally had superior physical qualities compared to males. Seeing Ah Sui approach, they didn’t dare to dodge and stood obediently in place, withstanding the punch without even swaying.
Very good, very strong.
They are excellent candidates for martial training.
Ah Sui nodded repeatedly in his mind. He tested each of the captives and grew increasingly satisfied. Finally, he turned and walked toward Black Fang and the others, saying directly, “I’ll take these captives. The rest of the supplies, you can divide among yourselves.”
The other interstellar pirates were stunned. Ah Sui was abandoning the food and jewelry, opting instead for so many female zergs. Even if they were for warmth, seven or eight would be enough; over thirty seemed excessive!
One of the minor leaders tentatively advised, “Grand Leader, have you considered it again? You don’t need to keep all these female zergs. Just select a few of the prettier ones.”
Ah Sui shook his head. “I only want these captives. I don’t want anything else.”
Carlos was still lying in the starship recovering from his injuries. Now, besides Ah Sui, only Black Fang had any authority. Seeing Ah Sui foolishly take away a bunch of captives, Black Fang gloatingly said, “Grand Leader, you’re free to take these captives, and we have no right to oppose. However, I must remind you that our supplies are critically low, and we simply can’t afford to feed so many female zergs.”
The implication was clear: either let the female zergs starve or figure out how to feed them on his own. They had no intention of providing any additional resources.
Ah Sui glanced at the nearby forest and thought that if necessary, he could take the female zergs into the mountains to hunt. The forest would at least provide for their needs. He looked at Black Fang and said, “I’ll take care of their food.”
Ah Sui disliked Black Fang’s villainous behavior and maintained a consistently cold attitude. However, he didn’t expect Blairand, who had been standing silently on the side, to suddenly speak up and ask, “Where do you plan to put these female zergs?”
The female zergs would freeze if left in the snow, and there weren’t enough tents to accommodate them. The starship was reserved for males and the leaders, leaving no place to properly house them.
Ah Sui certainly couldn’t let the female zergs stay with him, could he?
Blairand stared quietly at Ah Sui, his pale blue eyes as clear as gemstones. Having rushed out earlier, his hair had yet to be tied up, and his slightly curled golden locks fell over his shoulders. His fair skin was translucent, and in the sunlight, he looked as beautiful as a statue carved from ice and snow.
Seeing this, the other leaders couldn’t help but privately lament. With such a beautiful female zerg to warm his bed, why would the Grand Leader need the captives? It seemed like a waste.
Ah Sui instinctively considered suggesting that the captives stay on the same starship as himself, as it could fit if they squeezed in. But seeing Blairand’s silent gaze fixed on him, his survival instincts suddenly kicked in, and he barely managed to swallow the suggestion before it left his mouth.
Ah Sui said, “…I’ll discuss it with Brother Cenfeng and see if we can arrange for them to stay with him.”
Blairand didn’t say anything further and withdrew his gaze. His eyes scanned the middle of the open space, where the female zergs, averaging a height of 1.85 meters and with robust builds, were gathered. He subtly furrowed his brows, feeling that something was amiss but unable to pinpoint exactly what it was.
In the afternoon, Ah Sui went directly to discuss the arrangement of the female zergs with Xu Cenfeng. It wasn’t clear what they decided, but it was only when the sky was darkening that Ah Sui finally returned to his starship.
Blairand had been waiting for Ah Sui to return for dinner. Seeing the male zerg coming back through the snowstorm, he got up and walked over to ask, “Have you figured it out? How will the female zergs be settled?”
Ah Sui shook his head, brushing the snowflakes off his hair. “Black Fang damaged the starship the captives were on during the raid. The other leaders don’t want a broken starship, so I’ve temporarily arranged for them to stay there.”
Blairand looked at Ah Sui and asked, his expression inscrutable, “What do you need so many female zergs for?”
Ah Sui replied, “They’re strong and can fight. I want to build my own team so that I don’t have to worry about Carlos and Black Fang.”
Blairand, despite all his calculations, never expected this to be the reason. He returned to the edge of the bed, sat down, and then slipped under the covers, thinking how this zerg seemed to be getting more into his role as an interstellar pirate: “But those female zergs are just ordinary tourists. They have no interest in becoming interstellar pirates. Aren’t you worried they might escape once they gain the ability to protect themselves?”
Ah Sui’s response was unexpectedly generous. “If they want to escape, let them. This isn’t exactly a great place anyway. If it were up to me, I’d have let them go already.”
Blairand couldn’t help but find this somewhat amusing, a faint smile appearing at the corners of his lips. “And what about me? Would you let me go?”
Ah Sui unexpectedly hesitated, stuttering for a while before finally saying, “Didn’t you say you’d take me to the Imperial Capital if there was a chance?”
Blairand: “?”
Ah Sui’s ears turned slightly red, his tone earnest. “Don’t rush to leave. Wait until I can get away, then you can take me and Xu Cenfeng with you. This place is too big, and I don’t know the way. If you leave first, I’m afraid I won’t be able to find you later.”
His tone was sincere and warm, but the mention of a third zerg made it sound somewhat odd.
Blairand, however, did not oppose. He gently replied, “Alright, I’ll wait for you to leave together.”
Ah Sui then became happy, a small dimple appearing on his cheek. Seeing this, Blairand couldn’t help but reach out and poke him, only to notice that Ah Sui’s face gradually reddened, becoming noticeably warm to the touch.
The male zerg was actually shy.
Seeing Ah Sui’s hands were red and numb from the cold, and with the temperature dropping below freezing these days, Blairand hesitated for a moment before gently lifting the edge of the blanket. “Why… don’t you come in and lie down?”
