ICAWZ Chapter 37

ARC 1: Can you kiss me?

“…”

Lu Yuan finally realized that Yusto had clearly been deliberately baiting him just now. Facing the implied expectations in the other’s eyes, he fell into a subtle silence for a moment. Finally, he pushed the head the other had leaned in aside and walked to the doorway.

“Are you sure there are guards outside the corridor?” Lu Yuan asked.

Yusto raised an eyebrow reluctantly. “Just take a look, and you’ll know, won’t you?”

At the same time, he snorted coldly in his heart. Male zergs could be such big deceivers. Just a moment ago, he had agreed to marry him, but now he turned his face as if he didn’t even know him.

Upon hearing this, Lu Yuan directly opened the door a crack and glanced outside. The entire corridor was quiet and deserted. Dozens of armed guards stood watch at the entrances on both sides. Immediately, he snapped the door shut.

This situation seemed a bit too much!

Just as Lu Yuan was plunged into shock, a suddenly warm body pressed against him from behind, quietly rubbing against his back. Yusto gently rested his chin on Lu Yuan’s shoulder, his voice lazy and husky, a smirk evident as he teasingly asked, “See, I didn’t deceive you, did I?”

As he spoke, he used his fingertips to lightly draw circles on Lu Yuan’s lower back, a teasing gesture.

Lu Yuan glanced behind him and said, “Put your clothes back on.”

Yusto had just undone the buttons on his military uniform, leaving his shirt loose and revealing. What if a guard happened to come in and saw them like this?

Yusto didn’t move, feeling a bit sulky. Clearly, he was frustrated with the male zerg in front of him, who remained composed. If Yusto were a rabbit right now, his ears might have drooped in disappointment. “Don’t you like what you see?” he asked.

He distinctly remembered Lu Yuan enjoying watching adult content.

Lu Yuan thought to himself that he wasn’t a pervert; if he wanted to watch, he wouldn’t do it in a hospital. Not sure if he sensed Yusto’s frustration, he hesitated for a moment, gently pulling him into an embrace. Then, from beginning to end, he comforted him, speaking earnestly, “Yusto, what’s yours will always be yours. There’s no need to rush for a momentary desire.”

This statement went against the family motto of the Gohedra family, which believed in survival of the fittest. According to their principles, if one kept waiting for food to come to them, they would only face elimination by the laws of nature.

Yusto’s mood improved when Lu Yuan embraced him, but he didn’t agree with Lu Yuan’s perspective. Arching an eyebrow, he corrected him, “Your Excellency, in the forest, prey won’t just stand there waiting for you to eat it.”

Lu Yuan responded, “Yusto, emotions are different from prey. Prey can be seized, but emotions can’t.”

Lu Yuan had already decided to adapt to the Zerg lifestyle and have a meaningful relationship with Yusto. Marriage was certainly in the cards, but he was not rushing into it hastily.

Lu Yuan reached out and ruffled Yusto’s fuzzy silver hair, saying, “We haven’t even dated yet.”

Yusto, upon hearing this, blinked with his ruby-like eyes and looked at Lu Yuan in confusion, “What is dating?”

In the Zerg culture, there was no concept of “dating”. Salaranfa’s marriage system usually prioritized social status and lineage. As long as the matches were deemed suitable, they could immediately become partners. After all, the Empire’s birth rate was declining each year, and there wasn’t much time for them to engage in romantic relationships.

Lu Yuan, a Nine-Leak Fish who had never experienced romantic relationships, wasn’t sure how to explain the concept to Yusto. Frowning at the difficulty of expressing it, he said, “It’s probably about getting to know each other better over time?”

Yusto, thinking that there wasn’t anything particularly entertaining about dating, immediately lost interest, saying, “I already know enough about you, Your Excellency.”

With a meaningful tone, he added, “Except for your body, Your Excellency.”

Lu Yuan thought to himself, who said you couldn’t get to know someone’s body while dating? He used his fingertips to gently caress Yusto’s cheek, staring at the other’s rosy lips for a moment. Lost in thought, he finally leaned down and planted a silent kiss. In a muffled voice, he asked, “What if dating could be like this, Yusto…”

“Mmm…”

Lu Yuan didn’t anticipate Yusto’s reaction to be so intense. Swiftly, he pulled him back, but the next moment, there was a sudden tightening around his neck. Yusto had firmly wrapped him up, and the husky yet curious voice echoed in his ear, “Your Excellency, is this what dating is like?”

Lu Yuan thought it probably was. Back when he was a teenager, sneaking out of class, he had stumbled upon many young couples in the school’s small grove. Hugging and kissing each other seemed normal.

At that time, Lu Yuan was in the midst of his adolescent rebellious phase, his heart sealed in concrete. He had no concept of love; his thoughts were solely focused on how to dominate the nearby streets. Witnessing those young couples hugging and kissing in the grove, he would disdainfully sneer and walk away, paying it no mind.

What’s so enjoyable about kissing?

That was Lu Yuan’s naive perspective in his youth.

But now…

Lu Yuan found himself inexplicably reminiscing about the damp yet soft sensation from a moment ago. Unconsciously, he pursed his lips, realizing that it might not be so bad after all.

Yusto, with a flushed face, nestled in Lu Yuan’s embrace. The entire female zerg was enveloped in the warmth of the other’s breath, and for a moment, his consciousness became slightly dizzy. His crimson eyes inexplicably became watery. He hugged Lu Yuan’s neck, as if transported back to that night of psychic outbreak, resembling a little creature waiting for comfort. He looked so comfortable, his eyes half-closed.

“Your Excellency, can you kiss me again? Just one more time,” Yusto requested, adding, “Just once.”

Lu Yuan thought, why not? Even a infatuated troublemaker couldn’t resist any request from their partner during the romantic phase. He embraced Yusto’s waist, pressed him against the door, and gave him a long, suffocating kiss. Their tongues tentatively explored, dancing in a rhythm that evolved from awkwardness to mastery, creating an intimacy that made even their souls tremble.

“Your Excellency…”

Yusto, self-taught in these matters, closed his eyes and tilted his head, responding passionately to Lu Yuan. Under the stimulation of the male zerg’s aura, his skin took on a faint crimson hue. He held onto Lu Yuan’s neck, lazily leaning on his chest, murmuring with a nasal tone. He lightly licked Lu Yuan’s Adam’s apple and whispered, “Dating is really wonderful…”

Suddenly, he decided to generously agree to Lu Yuan’s request, postponing the matter of marriage for now. They would spend some time dating first.

Lu Yuan was left breathless from the kiss, his mind a bit hazy. It took him a while to finally calm down. He looked down at Yusto, who was nuzzling against him, and for some reason, felt like the female zerg was acting like a cat under the influence of excessive catnip, losing clarity of mind.

Lu Yuan gently fixed Yusto’s collar and buttoned up his military uniform, concealing that criminally tempting figure. He took a deep breath and said, “Yusto, do me a favor.”

Upon hearing this, Yusto calmly opened his eyes, glanced at Lu Yuan’s lower body, and then awkwardly turned his head to the side. With reddened ear tips, he said, “Your Excellency, I haven’t learned…”

In truth, it wasn’t just cooking class that he failed; he also failed the “Sex and Reproduction Education” course. His understanding of such matters was limited to the most basic concept of mating. When it came to other techniques, he was virtually clueless.

However, if Lu Yuan was feeling uncomfortable, well, there might be a way…

Lu Yuan instinctively asked, “Haven’t learned what?”

He just wanted Yusto to help fetch his body data report.

“Can you get my medical examination report from the hospital?”

Yusto: “…”

Yusto awkwardly cleared his throat, “What do you need this for?”

Lu Yuan still didn’t entirely believe his blood purity was 100%: “I want to confirm something.”

Yusto didn’t immediately agree because ever since Lu Yuan’s blood purity results came out, his file had been tightly sealed by the Empire, classified as S-level confidential. Without the direct approval of the Zerg Emperor, obtaining his body data was nearly impossible.

However, Yusto thought it wouldn’t hurt to try, “Alright, but it might take a few days. Your body data is currently classified as Empire’s top-secret, and obtaining it isn’t that easy.”

More importantly, the Zerg Emperor hadn’t left the hospital yet, making it inconvenient to take any action.

Lu Yuan wasn’t in a rush at the moment. Upon hearing Yusto’s agreement, he ruffled Yusto’s hair again and said, “Thank you.”

Yusto raised an eyebrow, a meaningful expression on his face, “Your Excellency, you never have to say those two words to me. But if you really want to thank me, why not take some practical action?”

Lu Yuan asked, “Such as?”

Yusto refused to specify, “What do you think?”

Lu Yuan instantly understood, realizing how shrewd Yusto was; he never missed an opportunity. He pulled the female zerg into his embrace, his gaze falling on the ancient golden zerg markings on the back of Yusto’s neck. In an emotionless tone, he asked, “A kiss?”

This proposition hit the mark for Yusto. He slightly curved his lips, sounding arrogant, “This gift is a bit too light, but if it’s you, it’s not entirely unacceptable…”

Before he could finish his sentence, a sudden warmth enveloped the back of his neck. Lu Yuan, with a creative touch, planted a scorching and lingering kiss on the ancient zerg markings—a particularly sensitive area for all female zergs.

Yusto slowly widened his eyes, “…”

This is going to be fatal!!!!

In the following days, Lu Yuan stayed in the hospital for rest due to the fever. As for the Zerg Emperor, after confirming the test results that day, he took no further action. Without revealing his face, he directly returned to the palace.

Once the residual snake venom was completely eliminated from Lu Yuan’s body, and after repeated examinations at the hospital, the accuracy of his blood purity data was confirmed. This news brought mixed feelings to the Zerg Emperor. On the one hand, he was pleased that this male zerg might change the declining reproduction rate in Salaranfa. On the other hand, he was concerned that once this news spread, it would inevitably lead to fierce competition and create an uncontrollable situation.

However, there are no impenetrable walls in the world. Despite Emperor Apu’s repeated orders to keep the information confidential until the banquet, rumors still managed to reach the ears of those nobles.

Upon initially hearing the news, their reactions were similar to Duke Monck’s—shock and disbelief. They even suspected it might be a misdiagnosis from the hospital. After all, the palace seemed as calm as still water, with no official decree from the Emperor. It didn’t seem like anything significant was about to happen. However, some astute nobles, after careful observation, suddenly noticed that the interstellar hospital had inexplicably gained a batch of stationed guards. Some of them were even familiar faces that regularly walked in the palace. The number had more than doubled compared to before.

Very well, the news had now been confirmed. If that male zerg’s blood purity wasn’t 100%, how could Emperor Apu possibly withdraw palace guards for personal protection?

For a moment, there were both joy and worry among the Zergs. After all, which aristocratic family didn’t have a few eligible female zergs awaiting marriage? They were fretting over how to find suitable partners for their zerg cubs when suddenly, a male zerg with a blood purity of 100% appeared out of nowhere. This was akin to a pie falling from the sky, and not just any pie—a super-sized, golden one.

On the other hand, the ones worried were Duke Monck and Duke Durant. Ever since the day they returned from the palace, a gloomy atmosphere had shrouded both of their mansions, heavy and oppressive.

Dalaimin was currently the highest-blood-purity male zerg in the Salaranfa Empire, with an impressive blood purity of 56%. In recognition of his achievements, the Emperor even personally granted him the title of Marquis.

However, with just a mere 56%, he was granted the title of Marquis. Now, out of nowhere, comes Lu Yuan with a blood purity of 100%. Wouldn’t the Emperor want to bestow upon him a higher title, perhaps that of a Duke? In that case, Lu Yuan’s status would directly surpass their own.

Moreover, the Seventh Prince, Yusto, had always maintained an ambiguous relationship with Lu Yuan. He had been the most powerful contender for the position of Crown Prince. If he were to inherit the throne later, and Lu Yuan became the Emperor’s companion, Lu Yuan’s status would only rise.

Duke Monck’s headache worsened as he contemplated the situation. The more he thought about it, the more restless he became. When he saw Wengel sitting beside him, his frustration boiled over, and he directly slapped him on the face.

“Good-for-nothing! I’ve told you not to act recklessly in the Imperial Capital, but you never listen! It was fine when you were fooling around with those female zergs before. Now, you’ve kicked a hornet’s nest, and I have to help you clean up the mess! Now, when Lu Yuan recovers from his injuries and leaves the hospital, let’s see how he’ll retaliate against you!”

“Father?!”

Wengel, who had been pampered since childhood, had never experienced a single finger raised against him. Although he had been slapped by Lu Yuan not long ago, he didn’t expect the same treatment from Duke Monck now. Wengel covered his face, frustrated, and said, “How would I know that his blood purity is 100%? If it’s such a big deal, while he’s still in the hospital, I can find a few skilled female zergs to get rid of him!”

Smack!

Duke Monck, infuriated, slapped him again. He couldn’t fathom how he ended up with such a brainless son. Grabbing Wengel’s collar, he scolded angrily, “Idiot! Haven’t you seen the current situation clearly? The zergs I sent out to do something earlier were quietly taken care of by Yusto. Now, even His Majesty has pulled the guards to the hospital to protect Lu Yuan. If you make a move now, won’t you just be handing them evidence on a silver platter?!”

Wengel, sensing Duke Monck’s anger, dared not even breathe heavily. Trembling, he asked, “Th-Th-Then what… what should we do?”

Duke Monck, with a dark expression, thought, what else could they do? Apart from making amends, was there any other option? With gritted teeth, he instructed a female attendant beside him, “Go! Prepare a generous gift! I’m going to visit the Interstellar Hospital!”

After his command, he glared at Wengel and threw him heavily onto the sofa, saying, “You’re coming with me!”

During the time that Lu Yuan spent in the hospital, receiving regular injections to reduce fever, his body underwent subtle but significant changes. When Yusto, after some effort, finally managed to obtain the test results from the medical director, he was astonished to find that Lu Yuan’s various indicators were approaching those of a female zerg. Whether it was strength or bone density, they far exceeded the typical qualities of a male zerg’s body.

Yusto furrowed his brows, instinctively glancing at the medical director, “Are you sure you didn’t mix up the reports?”

The medical director had stayed up for several nights without sleep. Upon hearing the words, he wearily pinched the bridge of his nose, his eyes bloodshot. “Your Highness, swearing by the Zerg God, this is indeed the report of that male zerg. Whether you believe in this result or not, the snake venom in his body seems to have altered his genetic makeup.”

After speaking, the medical director looked at Yusto, speaking earnestly, word by word, “He is not only a male zerg with 100% purity of blood, but his physical qualities are also superior, resembling that of a female zerg. This reversion to an ancient state has only occurred before the impact of the pollution source stone on Zerg Star, tens of millions of years ago. It’s truly unbelievable.”

He was clearly astonished by this discovery, momentarily rendered speechless. He shook his head slowly, rubbing his face with his hand, murmuring something under his breath.

Undoubtedly, this was a good thing, but as the saying goes, “Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.” Lu Yuan’s 100% blood purity was already quite unique. If the outside world were to learn about his physical qualities being as formidable as a female zerg, it might attract unnecessary trouble.

Although the Zerg Emperor generally did not attach much importance to male zergs and would at most express a momentary surprise upon hearing such news, with no further action, there was no guarantee that the situation wouldn’t change.

Yusto, being meticulous in his thoughts, stared at the data report in his hand for a moment. In the end, he retained only the part related to blood testing, tearing the remaining information into shreds and feeding them into the shredder until they turned into powder. In a tone devoid of emotion, he asked, “Have you presented this report to His Majesty?”

The medical director shook his head, “Not yet.”

Yusto asked, “Do any other zergs know about this?”

The medical director replied, “No, only you and I are aware of this matter.”

Given the gravity of the situation, he personally handled all the testing processes and did not disclose the information to any other zerg.

“Very well,” Yusto pulled out a star card from his jacket pocket and placed it on the table. His gaze deepened as he spoke, “Since you didn’t report it before, there’s no need to report it now. I don’t want a third zerg to know about this.”

The medical director furrowed his brow, glancing at the star card on the table. “Are you asking me to deceive the Zerg Emperor?”

At Yusto’s words, his chin lifted slightly as he looked down on him, unintentionally revealing a hint of oppression. “Not exactly. At least one future Zerg Emperor already knows about this.”

Yusto was always so unruly, confident that he would obtain that position, much like his confidence in securing Lu Yuan.

As a good friend of General Saphir, the medical director seemed to have no reason to offend Yusto under any circumstances. After a moment of contemplation upon hearing Yusto’s words, he reluctantly agreed, “Fine, I swear to you, I won’t disclose this to a third zerg. I don’t need the star card. The next time you go out on a mission and come across that mutated venomous snake that bit His Excellency Lu Yuan, please make sure to bring it back for my research.”

Yusto raised an eyebrow nonchalantly, “If you don’t mind receiving a snake that has been blasted into meat paste by a light energy gun, of course, you can have it.”

That snake had bitten Lu Yuan, and Yusto was confident that if he ever encountered that creature again, he would turn it into nothing more than a pulpy mess.

Having said that, he turned and left the testing room, leaving behind the star card. Yusto had a habit of not retrieving things once he had sent them out.

At that moment, Lu Yuan was in the hospital room, stretching and moving his body. He felt that his mental state had improved quite a bit recently, and he believed he could be discharged soon. However, he was uncertain when the security guards outside would be removed.

When Yusto returned to the room, Lu Yuan had just finished taking a shower and emerged from the bathroom. He was dressed in casual attire, the shirt still unbuttoned, revealing well-defined abdominal muscles with no hint of excess fat—a testament to the hidden strength within.

Noticing the change in Lu Yuan’s expression, he closed the door behind him and, at the same time, raised the test report in his hand. “Your Excellency, I’ve brought what you wanted to see.”

Lu Yuan’s hair tips were still dripping water, and he casually used a towel to dry his hair. Then, he lazily leaned against the edge of the bed, patting the space beside him while beckoning Yusto with a finger, “Come over here.”

In the past few days, they had been together day and night. Although they hadn’t reached the final stage, they had done everything that involved closeness and intimacy. If described in Earthly terms, they were probably in the honeymoon phase, wanting to stick together every minute of every day.

Upon hearing those words, Yusto immediately lunged into Lu Yuan’s embrace. He then encircled Lu Yuan’s neck, engaging in a skillful and passionate kiss. Lips and tongues pressed tightly together, their breaths intertwined and lingered. The test report lay beneath them, completely ignored, now just a crumpled ball.

Yusto’s fingertips gently slid over Lu Yuan’s abdominal muscles, his breath becoming more rapid. Unconsciously, he thought about the test report regarding Lu Yuan’s body data, and his words carried a deeper meaning, “Your Excellency, it seems like your body is getting better and better…”

Lu Yuan still carried a hint of moisture, and his fingertips were cool, like the aftermath of a heavy snowfall in the depths of winter. Supporting his head with one hand, he gently rubbed Yusto’s abnormally red lips with the pad of his finger. He wondered what conclusion the other had come to when he hadn’t done anything yet.

Arching an eyebrow, Lu Yuan’s wet ink-black hair appeared even darker than usual, giving him the appearance of an ink painting. “Why do you say that?”

Yusto finally located the crumpled report on the bed and handed it to Lu Yuan. “Your Excellency, as is well known, only male zergs with robust physical qualities can possess such a high blood purity.”

Lu Yuan took the report and read through it attentively. Despite being mentally prepared, seeing the 100% data still surprised him a bit. “How is this possible?”

Yusto hesitated for a moment, about to tell Lu Yuan that his physical qualities were now approaching those of a female zerg. However, before he could speak, they heard the sudden ringing of the doorbell.

“Ding dong!”

The guard responsible for monitoring initiated a video call, “Reporting to Your Excellency, Duke Monck and Duke Durant are here for a visit. Would you like to see them?”

Behind a closed door, Dukes Durant and Monck stood outside the hospital room, exchanging surprised glances. Clearly, they hadn’t expected their apologies to coincide in such an unfortunate manner. What zerg luck.

Bah! Zergs without shells!

Duke Durant subtly glared at Duke Monck, silently cursing the two-faced zerg. They had agreed during the communication that neither of them would apologize to this commoner male zerg. Yet, at the first hint of a sour mood, the other rushed to offer apologies at the door. It was truly shameless!

Duke Monck shared the same sentiment, wearing a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Duke Durant, what a coincidence.”

Upon hearing this, Duke Durant sneered and turned his head away, refusing to utter a single word.

What zerg luck.
