ICAWZ Chapter 6

ARC 1: Such a world.

The male zerg has always been the focus of attention. It hadn’t been long since Lu Yuan walked out of the hospital room when the subfemale nurse responsible for ward rounds noticed him. He quickly set aside his work and stepped forward to support him, saying, “Your Excellency, your body is not yet recovered. How can you get out of bed?”

The subfemale nurse had a generally curvaceous figure, quite alluring. In the past, Lu Yuan might have been pleased to have someone taking care of him, but as soon as he thought about the fact that beneath his skirt was a sizable ‘appendage’, his feelings became exceptionally complicated.

Lu Yuan couldn’t speak, so he could only point to his throat and make a drinking gesture.

The nurse instantly understood the situation and quickly helped him into the room to sit down, promptly pouring a glass of water for him. “I’m sorry, because you were unconscious for too long, we couldn’t feed you, so the room is temporarily not equipped with food and water.”

Lu Yuan’s throat was extremely dry. He drank several glasses of water in succession before feeling some relief. Ignoring the nurse’s intense gaze, he spoke up and asked, “Have I been unconscious for a long time?”

The nurse smiled gently and softly replied, “Yes, you were unconscious for about ten days. By the grace of the Zerg God, you have finally awakened.”

As soon as Lu Yuan heard the mention of the word “zerg”, he couldn’t help but feel a momentary unease. In hindsight, he remembered that he was on an alien planet surrounded by a bunch of zergs.

Lu Yuan unconsciously tightened his grip on the water cup, feeling somewhat anxious about them discovering his alien nature. He discreetly inquired, “What about my body… I mean, did the doctor say anything?”

The nurse, in response, flipped through the medical record book he carried with him. “Your condition is no longer a major concern, but you’ll need to come to the hospital regularly for blood purification. While the universal serum can neutralize most snake venom, the snake that bit you belongs to a new mutated species, and it’s challenging to completely eliminate the toxins. Currently, there are still some residues in your blood.”

Lu Yuan didn’t pay much attention to the nurse’s subsequent words; he only heard that his condition wasn’t a major issue. Initially relieved, he then asked, “Can I be discharged now?”

He felt it would be better for him to be as far away from the hospital as possible. In case they decided to keep him for further observation and discovered that he wasn’t actually a zerg, things could get complicated.

The nurse hesitated for a moment upon hearing his words. “Oh? Are you planning to be discharged now? But your leg…”

Lu Yuan stood up directly from the edge of the bed, moved his injured leg a bit, indicating that he was fine. “My leg is almost healed. It doesn’t affect walking. Can you help me with the discharge procedures?”

The nurse had never encountered such a situation. “But, Your Excellency, your body hasn’t fully recovered yet. Are you sure you don’t want to stay in the hospital for a couple more days for observation?”

Lu Yuan shook his head firmly, saying, “No need.”

He had a premonition that staying any longer would definitely expose something.

The nurse, who had been interning for less than a month, remembered his colleagues advising him not to defy the moody male zergs. Nervously, he asked, “Your Excellency, do you need me to contact your family zerg to pick you up from the hospital?”

Lu Yuan’s identity information was still a blank slate.

In reality, members of the Male Zerg Protection Association had already visited a few days ago. However, because he was in a state of unconsciousness at that time and remained so for a full ten days, coupled with the doctor’s prediction of low blood purity, those folks had lazily not returned. They only left a registration form, instructing Lu Yuan to report to the association himself once he woke up.

While male zergs were indeed precious, all of that value was built upon high levels of blood purity. Male zergs with a blood purity below 30% had nearly zero reproductive capability, considered essentially worthless.

Lu Yuan declined, saying, “No need, I can leave the hospital on my own.”

According to hospital procedures, whether to stay or leave depended entirely on the patient’s wishes, especially considering the unyielding nature of male zergs’ preferences. Seeing his repeated insistence, the nurse didn’t dare to intervene and went to the front desk to process his discharge.

“Here is your treatment list and star card. The details of the medication are all listed. If you have any doubts, feel free to call for consultation. Also, these are your personal zerg-related items.”

The nurse handed a black single-shoulder travel bag to Lu Yuan. Inside, there were only a few changes of clothes and some miscellaneous items—nothing of significant value but containing the sentiments he brought from Earth.

Lu Yuan took the bag, quickly glanced at the medication list, and then looked at the semi-transparent card that resembled a bank card with confusion. “Is this also mine?”

The nurse explained, “It was left by the military female who brought you to the hospital that day. Don’t you know each other?”

Lu Yuan hesitated for a moment upon hearing this, then realized it was likely the female named Yusto who had covered his medical expenses. “Oh, it’s nothing. Thank you.”

He tucked the card into his backpack, planning to return it to the person when the opportunity arose.

Upon hearing his gratitude, the nurse first looked surprised, then blushed, waved his hand, and stammered, “You… You’re too polite. It’s my honor to serve you.”

After speaking, the nurse discreetly glanced at Lu Yuan’s handsome face. He noticed that although he appeared a bit aloof, he was actually very courteous, making his service more meticulous. Blushing, he reminded him, “Although the discharge procedures have been completed, you still need to go to the service center downstairs to return the hospital card. If it’s inconvenient for you to walk, I can help you with the return.”

Lu Yuan, not accustomed to inconveniencing others, declined, saying, “No need, I’ll take care of it myself.”

The nurse suggested, “Let me pack some medical meals for you to take home. You just woke up, and it’s better to have some light liquid food.”

Since he needed to go downstairs anyway, Lu Yuan agreed.

Lu Yuan had relied on nutrient solutions to sustain himself during his days in the hospital, and he couldn’t deny feeling hungry. So, he didn’t refuse the offer. Still wearing the hospital gown, he pulled out a set of clothes from his backpack to change into and then headed to the first-floor lobby to return the card.

It was the peak lunchtime, and the service windows on the first floor were crowded with zergs, forming long queues everywhere. Lu Yuan, with his exceptionally distinctive appearance and hair color, attracted quite a bit of attention as soon as he descended. He lifted the collar of his shirt to partially cover his face and, with his eyes on the ground, stood at the end of the line, trying to minimize his presence, hoping the zergs around wouldn’t notice anything unusual.

The hospital lobby wasn’t just filled with male zergs but also female zergs. Lu Yuan, with some idle time, casually glanced around and found it relatively easy to distinguish them. Males were generally shorter with more delicate features, while females were taller, more robust, often looking like skilled individuals, especially those in military attire. Sometimes, there would even be the absurd scene of seven or eight female zergs forming a protective circle around a single male zerg, a display more majestic than an emperor’s procession.

Seeing this, Lu Yuan finally gained a clear understanding of what Yulejia meant by the “value” of male zergs.

As time passed, the lengthy queue was slowly shortening. Just as Lu Yuan was lost in thought, he suddenly heard a commotion in the distance, as if zergs were arguing.

Gossip is a traditional human virtue, and Lu Yuan was no exception. He followed the sound to the scene of the incident and saw a small-sized male zerg berating a subfemale nurse, grabbing his wrist. A crowd had gathered around, eager to witness the commotion. The male zerg shouted, “Are you blind? You spilled the porridge all over me! Not only did you dirty my clothes, but you also burned my hand! Get your hospital director here!”

The nurse looked familiar; he seemed to be the subfemale who had tried to bring medical meals to Lu Yuan earlier. He struggled to free himself while apologizing in a panic, “Your Excellency, I’m truly sorry. It wasn’t intentional…”

Several meal boxes were scattered on the ground, porridge spilled everywhere, making it clear what had happened just moments ago.

The male zerg gripped the nurse tightly, his eyes scanning his curves. He declared, “Apologies are useless now. I want compensation, do you understand? I won’t settle for anything less than fifty thousand star coins!”

The nurse was shaking with anger. “Your Excellency, you’ve already been ‘collided with’ by twelve nurses in our hospital in just a month. Even if you’re attempting fraud, there should be a limit! I didn’t collide with you just now; you bumped into me!”

Sometimes, one could roughly judge the blood purity of a male zerg based on their appearance. The male zerg in front of them was short, lean, with cloudy eyes, darkened skin, and an estimated blood purity not exceeding 16%. In the Salaranfa Empire, he belonged to the lowest echelons among male zergs.

He would visit the hospital and purposely pretend to be bumped into by nurses or doctors when he needed money, then demand hefty compensation. This practice was known as fraud, colloquially referred to as “touching porcelain”. The backing of the Male Zerg Protection Association often allowed him to succeed in these attempts.

Exposed in front of the crowd, the male zerg couldn’t bear the shame and became furious. He raised his hand high, wanting to slap the nurse across the face, teeth clenched in anger. “Damn it! You’re spouting nonsense!”

“Ah!”

The nurse, frightened, instinctively closed his eyes. The surrounding onlookers let out a collective gasp. However, the awaited slap never landed. Instead, in mid-air, a powerful hand firmly intercepted it.

While Lu Yuan generally preferred not to meddle in other people’s affairs, the audacity of this individual, daring to overturn his meal, was beyond tolerance! He grasped the wrist of the male zerg at lightning speed and with a crisp sound, dislocated the man’s arm. As expected, the male’s expression contorted in pain.

The male zerg hopped around immediately, crying out, “Let go! Let go quickly! It hurts, it hurts!”

Lu Yuan’s aura was formidable, and he seemed like someone not to be trifled with. While allowing the male to jump and yell, he didn’t loosen his grip. With an indifferent expression, he raised an eyebrow and asked, “What did you say just now? You want fifty thousand star coins?”

Damn it! Back when he used to collect protection money on the streets, the most he’d get was forty-three and a half yuan. Now, this idiot, who wasn’t even as tall as his neck, dared to demand fifty thousand?!

The male zerg noticed the tattoo on the back of Lu Yuan’s neck and assumed he was a female zerg. He angrily declared, “You nosy fellow! Fifty thousand star coins won’t be enough for my injuries. Now I want a hundred thousand! Release me if you don’t want to end up in interstellar prison!”

Before he could finish speaking, he received an unexpected blow to his stomach, causing him to stumble and fall to the ground, courtesy of Lu Yuan’s swift kick. The onlookers, shocked by the sudden turn of events, quickly dispersed, staring in astonishment at the scene before them.

Lu Yuan’s leg was still suspended in mid-air, maintaining the posture of the kick. He showed no expression, casually shook the toe of his shoe, and remarked, “Is that so? But before I head to interstellar prison, you’ll probably be lying in the hospital for half a year.”

Lu Yuan was a product of the nine-year compulsory education system and didn’t adhere to ideals like “gentleman uses words, not fists.”

The male zerg, battered and bruised, struggled to get up from the ground, holding his dislocated arm. Upon hearing Lu Yuan’s words, he was both shocked and enraged, pointing trembling fingers at Lu Yuan in disbelief. “You… you actually dare to hit a male zerg?!”

Lu Yuan, with practical actions, demonstrated that Earthlings fear nothing. He retracted his leg, seized the male zerg by the collar, pulled him close, and then raised two fingers, waving them in front of the male zerg’s eyes like a bandit demanding payment on a mountain road. “Now, you have two choices: first, let me beat you into the hospital, or second, pay me 200,000 star coins for mental distress.”

The male zerg was lifted by Lu Yuan, trembling like a frightened chick. In shock, he stammered, “Y-y-you… you, this zer.., is too shameless! Why should I pay you 200,000 star coins? You might as well go rob someone!”

“Shameless?”

A subtle arch of Lu Yuan’s eyebrow suggested he caught onto the insult a bit late. Realizing the male was accusing him of being shameless, he retorted, “Rob? Why would I rob? Extortion is much easier.”

He patted his injured leg and continued, “Did you see that? You just collided with my leg, and now you must pay me 200,000 star coins in compensation.”

The male zerg tried to put up a tough front, saying, “No!”

Lu Yuan raised his fist, asking, “So, you prefer staying in the hospital?!”

Terrified, the male zerg immediately begged for mercy, sitting on the ground with his hands covering his head. “I-I’ll pay! I’ll pay right now!”

Lu Yuan released his grip at these words, extending a hand and teasing, “Credit card or cash?”

The male zerg, certainly not carrying around two hundred thousand in cash like a lunatic, opted to use his card. Fearful of Lu Yuan, he reluctantly took out a semi-transparent star card from his pocket and handed it over.

Lu Yuan: “Password?”

The male zerg, feeling the pain in his wallet, reluctantly revealed, “666666.”

Idiot.

Lu Yuan cursed silently in his mind. He casually slung his travel bag over his shoulder, walked up to the nurse who had witnessed the entire scene, and tossed the star card into his arms. “Password is six sixes. Consider it a donation to your hospital. No need to pay it back. If the police come, blame it on me.”

The nurse, flustered but grateful, fumbled to catch the star card. He looked at Lu Yuan in both shock and joy. “Your Excellency…”

Lu Yuan, however, didn’t say anything more. He turned around and left the hospital directly. After all, who stays after a fight to wait for the police?

The male zerg, whose arm had been dislocated, saw Lu Yuan, the jinx, finally leaving. He hurriedly got up from the ground, in pain and covered in cold sweat. Just as he was about to call for a doctor to reset his arm, he turned his head and was shocked to find Lu Yuan, who had just left, suddenly coming back. “??!”

“Thud—”

The male zerg’s legs gave out, and he knelt down in fear. He was on the verge of tears as he exclaimed, “I-I-I… I really don’t have any money left!”

However, Lu Yuan didn’t say anything. He just lifted his hand expressionlessly and pointed towards the neighboring hospital. “You, go to the hospital next door for treatment!”
