In the previous life, on countless evenings when the city lights first lit up, Han Yan used to sit in his silver-topped sedan, weaving through the busiest city. Occasionally, on a whim, he would roll down the car window, and there were always a few stray dogs scavenging on the streets.
What are stray dogs?
In the eyes of the older generation, dogs without a home are called stray dogs.
Just like unsupervised children are called wild children.
The way Gaien looked wandering alone truly resembled that kind of animal, but Han Yan felt it shouldn’t be so. Clearly, this female zerg was married, had a beautiful house, a male father, two female fathers, and an annoying little brother.
More importantly, he also had a partner.
There was no reason for Gaien to be in such a sorry state.
In just a few seconds, Han Yan thought about many things in his mind, but none of it could obscure one fact: he didn’t like seeing Gaien in this condition.
Gaien clearly didn’t expect Han Yan to appear here. When he saw him, there was a moment of obvious surprise, and his steps gradually slowed down: “Why are you here?”
There was still a short distance between them, so Han Yan had to take steps toward Gaien. He always wore a suit and leather shoes, even if he hadn’t prepared intentionally today and had hurriedly come from the company, he didn’t appear disrespectful on such a grand occasion: “And what about you?”
Gaien hesitated for a moment, “Today is my brother’s wedding.”
Han Yan inquired with a mysterious tone, “So you came by yourself?”
Gaien lowered his gaze, thinking that Han Yan had come to question him: “I’m sorry. I left the invitation on the table yesterday, thinking you saw it.”
Han Yan nodded faintly, “I didn’t see it.”
Gaien paused again, “I’m sorry.”
Apart from those two words, it seemed like he didn’t know what else to say.
Han Yan noticed that the wedding inside was still ongoing. He wasn’t particularly interested in such occasions, mostly just for the sake of revelry. Nevertheless, he held Gaien’s cool hand and brought him inside, taking a moment to adjust his tie: “Let’s go, take a look inside.”
Since they were here, it wouldn’t hurt to join in the celebration.
Unlike Gaien’s previous casual choice of a secluded spot, Han Yan followed the usher’s guidance to take seats in the front row. By then, Seventh Prince Yusto and the male zerg named Lu Yuan had already completed the wedding ceremony, toasting at their tables. Soon, it would be their turn.
Han Yan silently observed the black-haired and black-eyed male zerg, lost in thought for a moment before retracting his gaze. He took a glass of wine from the waiter’s tray, thinking that he stayed in the Zerg race for a reason. The male zerg clearly showed no interest in wealth or power, so what was the purpose of marrying Yusto?
Love?
Han Yan chuckled, finishing the contents of his glass in one gulp. He casually turned his head and noticed Gaien also gazing at the newlyweds, seemingly lost in thought.
“Envious, are you?”
Han Yan’s deep voice suddenly resonated in Gaien’s ears, snapping him back to reality. He instinctively turned his head, only to find Han Yan gazing down, playing with his own cool fingertips, rubbing them back and forth. It was a simple movement, yet it unmistakably carried a hint of ambiguous affection.
Gaien’s eyelashes trembled for a moment, “Are you drunk?”
“Am I?”
Han Yan neither confirmed nor denied.
While they were talking, Yusto and Lu Yuan had already approached, holding their wine glasses. The royal princes had somewhat similar facial features, but upon closer inspection, they were different. For example, the Seventh Prince, with his proud and dazzling personality, was like the sun, while Gaien, in contrast, exuded a more melancholic aura.
Yet, even the proudest sun would soften its radiance on the day of a wedding. Yusto was clearly delighted to see Gaien attending his wedding. When they clinked glasses, he whispered something to Gaien in a low voice, “I thought you had left.”
Having just exchanged rings, Yusto noticed Gaien sitting in the corner. Not long after, he got up and left the banquet hall.
Indeed, Gaien had intended to leave, but he didn’t expect to encounter Han Yan halfway. He was pulled back in and was about to say something when Han Yan stood up, embraced him, and raised his glass to Yusto, “I apologize. Gaien just went out to pick me up. I had some matters today and couldn’t break free, so we arrived a little late.”
As a male zerg, not to mention unintentional lateness, even if it were intentional, Yusto had no right to blame anything, “You’re being polite.”
Lu Yuan stood on the side, curiously glancing at Han Yan. He couldn’t quite put his finger on why, but he felt that this male zerg seemed a bit different. The specifics of the difference eluded him.
Blue hair, blue eyes, high nose, and deep-set eyes – he was certain he had never seen the other zerg before.
Han Yan noticed Lu Yuan’s gaze, nodded at him with a faint smile, and uttered a meaningful sentence, “Long time no see. Wishing you a happy marriage.”
Glasses clinked, but only one person could truly understand the meaning behind those words.
Lu Yuan didn’t dwell on it, reciprocated the gesture with a clink of glasses, and said, “Thank you.”
Han Yan had no intention of forming a deep connection with Lu Yuan. He exchanged a few simple pleasantries like any ordinary guest, then took a seat with Gaien. It happened to be close to dinner time, so they leisurely enjoyed the feast until the sky darkened before finally bidding farewell and leaving.
During this time, Prince Pei did not make an appearance.
He was a relatively favored member among the royal relatives, and logically, he should not have been absent from such an occasion.
Han Yan boarded the aircraft, and due to the drinks during the banquet, his usually cold eyes carried a hint of intoxication. He took off his glasses, closed his eyes, pinched the bridge of his nose, and simply uttered, “Let’s go home.”
Gaien settled beside him, closed the cabin door, and directly started the aircraft.
There was a distance between them, not too far, but not too close either.
Han Yan’s fingertips moved lightly. Feeling an inexplicable emptiness in his arms, he slowly opened his eyes. His deep voice sounded blurred in the dark night, “Come here.”
Gaien remained still, remembering that this male zerg had been unwilling to touch him in any way yesterday. Upon hearing Han Yan’s words, he lowered his gaze. Instead of moving closer, he subtly shifted away.
Han Yan: “…”
Han Yan put his glasses back on, attempting to discern Gaien’s expression. However, the female zerg retreated further into the shadows of the corner, his demeanor obscured and unclear. He resisted, remained aloof—nothing had changed.
In an unprecedented move, Han Yan repeated himself, “Come here.”
Gaien remained indifferent, seemingly unconcerned about whether his actions would provoke Han Yan. His gaze remained calm as he stared at the rapidly retreating scenery outside the porthole, lost in thought. However, the next moment, he unexpectedly fell into an embrace tainted with the scent of alcohol. The male zerg pressed him against the cool porthole from behind.
Gaien’s pupils contracted slightly, and he instinctively tried to struggle, only to be held even tighter.
“Hush—”
Han Yan’s strength was not as frail as it might appear. His slightly cool lips were pressed closely to Gaien’s ear. The angular edges of his glasses frame lightly grazed the skin, eliciting a tingling sensation. In a nonchalant tone, he asked, “Angry?”
Gaien’s body tensed for a moment but quickly returned to normal. “Wouldn’t dare.”
Han Yan whispered two words in a low voice, “You’re lying.”
But that was it; he didn’t continue pressing for answers. Instead, he pressed Gaien against the window, licking and kissing the most sensitive zerg markings on the back of the female zerg’s neck, peeling away layers of clothing. Like a flower bud that had yet to bloom, its petals were forcibly parted.
Gaien could easily push him away, but the power dynamics between female and male zergs were too disparate. If he resisted forcefully, he would inevitably hurt Han Yan. Thus, torn between conflicting considerations, he found even struggling to be utterly powerless.
Gaien felt a hand in the darkness removing his pants. A chill ran through his legs, causing him to shudder all over. He closed his eyes in embarrassment and muttered, “We’re on the aircraft…”
Han Yan, in response, turned Gaien’s face toward him. His fingers were long, slender, and pristine, adorned with a silver wedding ring that had already absorbed his body heat. “Don’t want to?” he asked.
But the truth was, Gaien did.
It had been 24 hours since yesterday, long enough.
Han Yan pressed Gaien onto the leather seat and kissed him deeply. Noticing something, he took off his suit jacket and placed it beneath the female zerg. After all, this place was not as easy to clean as their home.
Gaien had no intention of responding to Han Yan, not at all. However, his body was far more honest than his mind. His body remembered the pheromones of the male zerg, unable to control the emotions, unable to control the tears. It was a physiological response that even he couldn’t suppress.
Gaien blinked forcefully. For some reason, his face turned unusually pale. He tried to hold back the acrid liquid, but large, hot tears rolled down his cheeks, leaving wet marks on the leather seat.
He tightly clenched his fingertips, deeply sinking into his palm.
He desperately turned his head, avoiding Han Yan’s kisses.
He couldn’t find pleasure in this kind of intimacy.
The male zerg had been unwilling to touch him at all yesterday…
Why was he acting so differently today…
Gaien didn’t want to be a disposable plaything,
At the very least, he didn’t want to be Han Yan’s plaything…
Gaien knelt between the seats, his right leg involuntarily twitching and trembling for a moment. A sharp, stabbing pain shot through his knee, causing him to stagger forward and fall.
Han Yan noticed and immediately reached out to pull Gaien into his embrace. However, as his fingertips touched the female zerg’s face in the darkness, he realized that Gaien’s face was covered in cold tears. He slowly halted his movements.
Han Yan lowered his gaze and kissed away the tears at the corner of Gaien’s eyes. Whenever he spoke in a low voice, he sounded exceptionally gentle, “Why are you crying?”
Gaien remained silent, his body still trembling.
Han Yan slowly caressed the scars on his legs, from the ankle to the knee, then back from the knee to the ankle. It wasn’t until the cold skin finally warmed up that he softly asked, “Don’t you like it?”
Yet the female zerg’s body was clearly very aroused.
What could be the reason for that?
Han Yan listed reasons in his mind one by one, then systematically ruled them out. After careful consideration, he could only attribute it to the rejection from last night.
As he was lost in brief contemplation, the aircraft suddenly experienced a slight vibration. They had arrived at the residential area.
Seeing this, Han Yan used his jacket to wrap Gaien and carried the female zerg out of the aircraft. The late-night wind was chilling, and there could be zergs passing through the garden at any time. Gaien unconsciously gripped the edges of the jacket tightly, his entire body tensed.
Han Yan, on the other hand, remained unusually calm. He had already figured out the daily routines of several zergs in the house. After finishing dinner, they generally wouldn’t come downstairs. Carrying Gaien into the living room, he didn’t turn on the lights. Instead, he navigated towards the stairs in the darkness, walking confidently even without the aid of light.
Gaien felt like he had entered a familiar environment. Shortly after, he felt a cool sensation on his back as Han Yan bent down and placed him on the office desk. If he didn’t want to slip off from the top, he could only reluctantly use his legs to hook onto the male’s waist.
Han Yan lowered his gaze and turned on a warm yellow desk lamp. A strand of his blue hair slipped down as a result. His clothing was neat, with at most a few wrinkles, still maintaining that poised and cultured demeanor.
It seemed like the male wanted to continue what they had started earlier.
But Gaien lay on the desk like a lifeless fish, utterly uninterested.
Han Yan lifted his hand, took off his glasses, and gently placed them on the table corner. His gray-blue eyes stared at Gaien, lost in thought. After all, forcing such matters wasn’t interesting, and he had no interest in the punishments imposed on female zergs within the zerg community.
“…Rest.”
Han Yan only uttered these words in the end. He withdrew from the situation, finally deciding to put an end to this encounter. He prepared to go to the bathroom to freshen up. However, as soon as he took a step, he was abruptly met with Gaien’s lifeless voice:
“What do you take me for?”
Han Yan’s steps faltered, and he subconsciously turned around. He saw Gaien staring at him with a strangely eerie and pale face in the dark.
“A plaything?”
“Something to play with when you’re in a good mood, and cast aside when you’re not… a plaything…”
Though almost all female zergs in Salaranfa lived without dignity.
“But I don’t want to be your plaything, nor do I want to be your collection…”
When Gaien spoke those words, his voice was hoarse and broken, but there was an icy and chilly feeling in the corners of his eyes and brows. Underneath his gloomy and silent exterior, for the first time, he revealed a sharp edge like a blade.
Han Yan then turned back once again. He braced Gaien’s legs and suddenly noticed that the female zerg was trembling all over with cold. He decisively pulled him into his arms, both sinking into the softness of the seat together.
Han Yan gently stroked Gaien’s back and turned his head to peck at the female zerg’s stiff and pale lips, asking, “Why do you say that?”
However, Gaien suddenly fiercely bit through Han Yan’s lips. His eyes were gloomy, carrying an indescribable mix of love and hatred. He allowed fresh blood to flow between his lips and teeth, his voice dark and hoarse, “I said, I don’t want to be your plaything…”
Han Yan felt a twinge of pain, so he halted his actions. However, he found himself not wanting to stop. After a pause, he held onto the back of Gaien’s head and continued to kiss.
Gaien attempted to bite him again, but he was caught off guard as Han Yan gripped his chin. A faint trace of crimson blood adorned the male’s light-colored lips, like a splash of color in the cold snow, captivating despite its indifference. “I heard you,” Han Yan said.
Han Yan silently gazed at Gaien, thinking that this female zerg had warmth, flesh, could cry, could laugh—how could it be equated with those lifeless collectibles? “I haven’t treated you as a plaything.”
After saying this, he slowly kissed away the fresh blood at the corner of Gaien’s lips, as if afraid the female zerg hadn’t heard clearly. He repeated emotionlessly, “I haven’t treated you as a plaything.”
This was the female monarch he had officially married.
Recognized by the outside world, acknowledged by the royal family, and accepted by himself.
From the moment Gaien stirred Han Yan’s desires, he had stepped out of the realm of collectibles and playthings. It’s just that he himself didn’t understand it, and Han Yan was just beginning to grasp it now.
Gaien was kissed to the point of pain, as there were wounds between their lips and tongues. He heard Han Yan’s words, and his eyelashes trembled violently for a moment. His face remained pale as frost, and he finally asked the question he didn’t ask yesterday, “Why did they come yesterday…”
The “they” he referred to undoubtedly meant the father and son, Fallon.
Han Yan calmly replied, “Business talks.”
Gaien asked, “Do you want to marry that female zerg?”
Han Yan answered, “I don’t.”
Gaien continued, “Why didn’t you touch me yesterday?”
Han Yan’s kissing motion paused for a moment, and he hesitated to respond.
Gaien seemed to be particularly concerned about this question, more so than the previous ones, and asked again, “Why didn’t you touch me yesterday?”
He knew that Han Yan disdained lying, so he wanted to know the most genuine answer from the male. However, after a long and tedious silence, Han Yan replied nonchalantly with three words, “Cultivating moral character.”
Even though what he was doing now had nothing to do with “cultivating moral character”.
Gaien’s body trembled, “And now?”
Han Yan always felt uncomfortable sitting on the chair, so he embraced Gaien’s waist, placing him back on the table. Carelessly, he lowered his gaze and said, “Pause.”
Pause cultivating moral character.
Gaien finally ceased to be like a dead fish. He raised his hand to encircle Han Yan’s neck, forcing him to lean down and gaze at him. His voice was almost inaudible, “Did you attend the wedding today because of me?”
Because of him?
Han Yan thought so and nodded indifferently.
Gaien closed his eyes and finally fell silent. Han Yan kissed his cracked lips again, and the response from the zerg was different this time. Unlike the previous moments of tearful entreaty, now there was only a soft sobbing.
For the first time, Han Yan’s suit jacket wasn’t soaked with rain but wet with tears. He finally embraced Gaien, who was curled up in his arms, and got up to walk into the bathroom. He closed the door behind him, shutting out everything.
Han Yan never took the initiative to explain anything.
But Gaien could ask.
As long as he asked, the man would answer.
Han Yan was like a strict exam paper; he wouldn’t break his own rules voluntarily, but he allowed Gaien to find loopholes and even cheat.
Unfortunately, this student was too slow, only now realizing a few rules.
The day of moving to the new house arrived quickly. Since the furniture in the new residential building was ready-made, all they needed to do was organize their personal belongings before moving in. Han Yan and Gaien both took a day off to stay at home and sort things out, and if everything went well, they would be able to move in tonight.
Han Yan often read books, and paper materials were the most numerous. After just finishing sorting out several boxes of items, he took a break, leaning against the warm window and smoking a cigarette. His gaze unintentionally glanced, only to see Gaien bending over with his back turned, organizing clothes.
Most of the time, Gaien wore a military uniform, even on days off. At most, he would take off the outer coat with the rank of a general and place it aside.
Gaien was half kneeling on the ground, the white military shirt neatly tucked into the military pants, accentuating a tempting waistline that the belt pressed against. With broad shoulders and a narrow waist, his figure was excellent. Unfortunately, he was completely focused on organizing the items in the boxes and was unaware of this.
Han Yan’s eyes behind the lenses darkened slightly. He calmly extinguished the cigarette and walked over to Gaien. Since he was his own monarch, there was no hesitation in embracing him.
Gaien sensed the strength around his waist, and his movements paused. Subconsciously, he turned his head to look at Han Yan, thinking that the male had something to say or do.
However, Han Yan didn’t do anything special. He simply embraced Gaien’s flexible waist, tilted his head, and gave him a fleeting kiss.
Gaien was momentarily stunned, finding it challenging to grasp Han Yan’s ever-changing thoughts. He slowly responded to the male, and after a while, they finally separated.
Han Yan asked him, “Is everything packed?”
Gaien nodded, “Just one more box.”
Upon hearing this, Han Yan stood up from the ground and, in the process, pulled Gaien up as well. “Once everything is packed, let’s go.”
Han Yan and Gaien each carried a box downstairs and threw them into the aircraft parked at the entrance. The Zerg race didn’t attach much importance to the act of moving, especially considering that Han Yan’s new residence was just a street away, making it a short distance to cover with a casual walk. There was no significant sentimental attachment to the home.
Both of the female fathers in the house had already left for work at the military department. Only Admon and Johnny were at home. The two of them eagerly followed Han Yan to the door, repeatedly asking:
“Ashya, are you moving out today? Do you want to stay a few more days before moving?”
“Yeah, yeah, stay for a couple more days.”
Pretending not to notice their excitement, Han Yan politely declined the insincere pleas from the male father and his brother Johnny: “No need, but you’re welcome to visit whenever you want.”
After Han Yan left, the two male zergs were likely liberated, and their joy was entirely normal.
Admon leaned against the doorway, waving his hands to urge them, “Absolutely, absolutely. You should go now, or you might get caught in traffic if it gets late.”
He sent off Han Yan, feeling so happy that he contemplated buying some firecrackers to celebrate.
