ICAWZ Chapter 8

ARC 1: Crown

“In this world, rank and gender are the crowns.”

Back when they were on the starship, Yulejia explained the planetary system of the Salaranfa planet with great emphasis. At that time, Lu Yuan couldn’t truly comprehend the meaning of this sentence until now when he finally had an intuitive understanding.

Given the scarcity of male zergs and their irreplaceable role in reproduction, the Empire almost reached an unspoken tolerance towards them. Wengel is a typical example.

Seeing Lu Yuan’s displeased expression, Reed sighed in resignation and explained, “Wengel’s blood purity is very high, and he has certain privileges anywhere, even if he’s late, no zerg would dare to stop him.”

Lu Yuan couldn’t be bothered with such trivial matters. He glanced at the floating clock above his head and casually remarked, “Whether zergs dare to stop him or not, I don’t know. What I do know is that if you don’t fill out the forms soon, you won’t make it in time.”

“Damn! How did time pass so quickly!”

Reed finally noticed the dwindling time, hastily leaned over his chair, and began filling out the remaining form details urgently, resembling Earth students struggling desperately with assignments in the last few days of vacation.

Lu Yuan never intended to register in the first place. He was only concerned about when he could leave, and, of course, he had nowhere to go once he was out.

With just ten minutes left before the terminal stopped recording information, Reed finally completed the forms. Sweating profusely, he squeezed into the only available terminal brain in the hall. As he was about to input the information, a hand suddenly appeared on his shoulder, accompanied by a cold, mocking voice, “Are you blind?”

Startled by the words, Reed turned instinctively and saw a handsome brown-haired male zerg standing behind him. The delicate furrow of the zerg’s brows showed impatience, and to his surprise, it was Wengel, the star of the crowd earlier. “This terminal brain is mine. Go somewhere else.”

Reed stammered, “But… but I was here first… my registration form hasn’t been entered yet.”

“Oh, really?”

Wengel raised an eyebrow at the words. Despite his dazzling attire, the arrogance and pride of the aristocracy were like an abrupt thorn beneath his skin. Instead of upholding the glory of his ancestors, it appeared sharp and cutting.

His gaze swept over Reed’s plump figure, a hint of disgust flashing in his eyes. With a flick of his fingers, he directly snatched Reed’s registration form from his hand. Upon seeing the “25%” in the blood purity column, he sneered and tore the thin paper right in front of him.

“Rip!”

The registration form instantly turned into scraps of paper.

Wengel made a mocking gesture to the shocked Reed, adopting a casual attitude. “So now you don’t have to worry about it, because you don’t need to register. Bardell Academy would never admit garbage zergs like you.”

Reed, angered by the unexpected tearing of his registration form, turned red-faced and lunged forward, grabbing Wengel’s collar and shouting, “But you shouldn’t have torn my registration form!”

Wengel’s female attendants were waiting outside the hall and were not allowed to enter. However, in the face of Reed’s fury, Wengel showed no sign of panic. Instead, he calmly warned, “Before you decide to hit me, think it through. It’s not a consequence you can bear, pitiful zerg with only 25% blood purity.”

The last few words were deliberately lowered, carrying a hint of pity, like a cat lamenting a doomed mouse.

Wengel’s words were like a knife, brutally piercing through the harsh reality. Reed froze upon hearing them, unsure whether to continue seeking justice for himself. He stood there, dumbfounded, slowly releasing his grip.

Wengel sneered at the reaction, expressing his deep disdain for this lower-class outcast from a third-tier star. He raised his hand to tidy his collar, then took his own registration form, standing in front of the terminal brain, leisurely entering the information.

The onlookers in the hall witnessed this scene, exchanging puzzled glances. While many felt that Wengel’s actions were discourteous, none dared to step forward and rectify the situation.

Lu Yuan was also among the onlookers. He held a black pen, head down, swiftly scribbling something on his own registration form. Seeing Reed return in a dejected manner, Lu Yuan didn’t even bother to lift his head. “So, you’re back just like that?”

Reed pouted, on the verge of tears. “Then… then what would you do if it were you?”

Lu Yuan calmly uttered two words, “Beat him.”

Beat him until he’s nothing but insect dung, until he turns into a dung beetle!1decided to keep the joke so i didn’t change the insect to ‘zerg’ but yeah they’re the same hehe

Reed, in agony, hugged his head and crouched on the ground. “If I do that, the Male Zerg Protection Association will definitely grab me and throw me into interstellar prison. They might even forcefully pair me with some ugly, unmarried female zergs. Oh, Zerg God, just kill me! Can I still stick this registration form back together?!”

In despair, he fiddled with the torn registration form, each zerg allowed only one. He wished he could glue it back with saliva, tears dripping down.

Lu Yuan observed from behind, finding Reed’s crying face as unsightly as losing a parent. He hadn’t cried this miserably even when he was kicked out of school for not being able to pay the tuition.

Annoying.

With only seven minutes left before the information entry was completed, Reed suddenly felt someone forcefully kick his buttocks. He yelped in pain, thinking it was Wengel again, but when he looked up, Lu Yuan was standing above him, looking down. “Why are you sitting here crying? Go enter your information!”

Reed was even more inclined to cry. “But… but my registration form has already been torn by him.”

Before he could finish his sentence, Lu Yuan threw a piece of paper at him. It was none other than Lu Yuan’s registration form, but with all the name and identity information replaced with Reed’s.

Lu Yuan had just glanced at Reed’s registration form and, relying on his excellent memory, copied the contents. He signaled for Reed to get up and follow him, hands in his pockets, heading towards the direction where Wengel was. In a voice only the two of them could hear, he said, “When the terminal brain becomes available, no matter what happens, just enter your information. Got it?”

Reed instinctively covered his mouth upon hearing Lu Yuan’s words, anxiously lowering his voice. “You’re not planning to beat him up, are you?”

Lu Yuan looked at him, appearing somewhat surprised. “Impossible. Didn’t you say he has a noble status? We can’t afford to offend him.”

Lu Yuan wasn’t suicidal. Why would he randomly go beat up an aristocratic male zerg and end up getting shot?

Reed’s brain was having trouble processing. “Then… what do you want to do?”

Lu Yuan replied, “I just want to find a more subtle way to make him leave the terminal brain.”

Reed’s dim-witted brain clearly couldn’t comprehend that statement. However, Lu Yuan quickly demonstrated to him what the “Moon Landing-style bump scam2it seems to be employed metaphorically to depict a situation where someone intentionally sets up or stages a collision in a manner that draws attention or gains an advantage, similar to the iconic Moon Landing event.” meant in practice.

At that moment, Wengel had just entered his identity information and was about to click submit. However, before he could press the screen, he suddenly caught a glimpse from the corner of his eye of a black-haired and black-eyed “female zerg” limping towards him. One of his legs was wrapped in thick bandages, indicating some kind of injury.

Wengel had a bad feeling and instinctively took a step back, but Lu Yuan acted even faster. The onlookers saw the black-haired “female zerg” suddenly stagger, directly falling towards Wengel. A series of gasps echoed as the two of them tumbled to the ground, rolling several times like a pair of intertwined gourds.

“Bang!”

Wengel was hit hard, seeing stars and feeling his internal organs churn. He almost vomited. Yet, the ordeal wasn’t over. Lu Yuan continued to apologize profusely while attempting to help him up, “accidentally” losing balance and crashing into him once again.

“Ugh!”

Wengel, in agony, shouted, “You damn zerg, get away!!”

Lu Yuan, without leaving a trace, glanced at Reed beside him. Seeing that Reed had already started rapidly entering the registration information at the terminal brain, Lu Yuan leisurely stood up from the ground, insincerely apologizing to Wengel, “Sorry, I didn’t stand firm just now and accidentally knocked you over.”

Given Wengel’s not-so-friendly temperament, the nearby military females hesitated to approach. In the end, fearing potential trouble, a few military females came forward to assist him, asking concernedly, “Are you alright, Your Excellency?”

“Do you need us to call the medical team for you, Your Excellency?”

Wengel, still gasping from the pain in his chest, finally regained his senses. However, he forcefully pushed away the assisting military females, pointing accusingly at the indifferent Lu Yuan. “Who gave you the courage to bump into me? Are you blind?!”

Lu Yuan denied, “No, I am lame.”

“Pfft—”

Someone nearby couldn’t hold back a laugh, but quickly stifled it. Wengel’s face changed from green to white and back again, looking more miserable than ever. With his female attendants currently kept outside the hall and unable to intervene, he couldn’t even retaliate against Lu Yuan.

Wengel finally fixed his gaze on one of the military females with the highest rank on his shoulder epaulettes. Through gritted teeth, he said, “What are you standing there for? Hurry up and catch him for me!”

The military female, noticing the bandage around Lu Yuan’s leg, hesitated for a moment and then spoke in an attempt to plead, “Your Excellency, he seems to be injured. It might have been an accident earlier. How about we—”

“Smack—!”

Before the plea could finish, Wengel suddenly backhanded the military female. The crisp sound of the slap echoed through the hall, causing the military female’s face to turn away from the force. A clear handprint appeared on his face.

Wengel stared at the female zerg with a sinister look, enunciating each word through gritted teeth, “I don’t like zergs defying my words. Do you understand?”

The military female quickly lowered his head at his words, refraining from further pleas, only holding his stinging cheek and signaling his teammates to go and apprehend Lu Yuan.

Lu Yuan was never one to foolishly confront a superior force. Seeing the military females approaching, he could only accept his misfortune, standing still as they shackled him. However, as soon as they secured one hand, Wengel stepped forward, assessing his slender figure. With a mocking tone, Wengel sneered, “I’ve never played with a black-haired, black-eyed female zerg. Behave yourself in prison for the next few days. Learn how to serve male zergs properly.”

Lu Yuan raised an eyebrow at Wengel’s comment, seeming a bit surprised. “You’ve never played with a black-haired, black-eyed female zerg? That’s quite a coincidence.”

Wengel frowned. “What’s so coincidental about that?”

Lu Yuan gestured for him to come closer, hooking a finger. “Come here, I’ll tell you.”

Intrigued by his smile, Wengel subconsciously took a step forward. However, the next moment, a sudden and intense pain struck his face, and the entire zerg tumbled to the ground.

“Smack!”

Lu Yuan directly slapped him to the ground, then shook his tingling right hand. He coldly smirked, “What a coincidence. I’ve never hit a male zerg with brown hair before.”

Author’s Note:

Author: (holding a microphone) Why did you hit him?

Lu Yuan: I’m fed up with him.

Author: Aren’t you afraid of dying?

Lu Yuan: I’m afraid of being annoyed to death!
