Is Xu Cenfeng sick?!
For a moment, Faeus was stunned, and suddenly this sentence popped into his mind. He was perfectly fine, so when did he become terminally ill? Was this male zerg really pretending to be crazy to take advantage of himself, or was he genuinely insane?
Xu Cenfeng unexpectedly had great strength. It took Faeus some effort to finally struggle free from his embrace, and then he staggered back from the bedside, his chest heaving irregularly. He was having difficulty breathing, stimulated by the strong pheromone scent emanating from the male zerg.
The doctor on the side was completely dumbfounded. He never imagined that this sick male zerg would dare to embrace their leader. It seemed his mind was truly burnt out, otherwise, how could he dare to pull the tiger’s whiskers?
Faeus caught his breath, only then noticing another zerg in the room. He swept his gaze over and looked coldly at the stunned doctor. “What are you looking at?”
The doctor, frightened, immediately turned around and faced away from them, waving his hands anxiously. “Supreme Leader, I didn’t see anything just now.”
Faeus’ voice was dark. “Get out!”
Faeus had always been proud and arrogant, disdainful of contact with male zergs like Xu Cenfeng. Yet, to be embraced by him in front of everyone, his dignity would undoubtedly suffer.
The doctor evidently understood this point as well. He promptly scrambled out of the room, closing the door behind him. The soldiers stationed outside, witnessing his expulsion, teased, “Hey, did you anger our leader?”
The doctor, clutching his startled heart, thought it wasn’t about angering the leader; it was about seeing something he shouldn’t have. “Don’t blame me for not warning you. In the future, when the Supreme Leader is inside, don’t go near.”
He shouldn’t have said anything, but speaking out only piqued the curiosity of the two soldiers. They quickly lowered their voices and asked, “Hey hey hey, what really happened? Tell us.”
The doctor shook his head vigorously. “No, no, the leader will kill me.”
The soldiers became more urgent. “Come on, tell us. We promise not to spread it.”
The doctor’s expression turned peculiar, but in the end, he couldn’t contain his desire to share what was on his mind. After glancing around, he nervously lowered his voice and said, “Our leader was forcibly embraced by that male zerg.”
The two soldiers were suddenly shocked at the revelation. “Our leader was forcibly embraced by that male zerg?!”
The doctor mimicked a gesture of someone hugging themselves tightly and nodded earnestly. “Forcibly embraced.”
The soldiers: “…” Oh.
So it was a forced embrace.
In the adjacent room, the lights were bright, yet the air was thick with silence, where even the sound of a pin dropping could be heard.
Faeus sat cross-legged on the sofa, furrowing his brows as he stared at Xu Cenfeng lying on the bed. It was unclear what he was thinking. His deep green eyes resembled those of a hunting snow wolf in the darkness, emitting a cold and penetrating light.
Perhaps he was pondering how audacious this male zerg truly was.
Perhaps he was contemplating how to deal with him.
But after pondering for a while, he couldn’t come up with any ideas. Finally managing to light a cigarette to calm his mood, he suddenly heard Xu Cenfeng coughing on the bed. He impatiently tossed the lighter aside, attempting to soothe himself.
“Clang!”
The lighter slipped from the sofa and fell to the ground, emitting a crisp sound. Xu Cenfeng, hearing the noise, seemed to show signs of waking up. In a daze, he murmured a word, “Water…”
He was desperately thirsty, his voice fragmented and out of tune: “Water…”
Faeus chuckled inwardly at the sight, thinking, ‘What does it matter if Xu Cenfeng is thirsty?’ But after a few seconds of silence, his black military boots shifted slightly, and reluctantly, he stood up from the sofa and poured a glass of water from the bedside cabinet.
“Get up and drink.”
Faeus pulled Xu Cenfeng up from the bed, furrowing his brow as he held the glass to his lips. With an unlit cigarette dangling from his mouth, deep teeth marks already etched into the butt.
He probably found it detestable, never having cared for any male zerg in his life, yet here he was breaking that pattern for Xu Cenfeng.
Xu Cenfeng’s fever had subsided somewhat. With Faeus’ assistance, he drank most of the glass of water, and his mind finally cleared a little. He slowly opened his eyes, the dark pupils carrying a hint of confusion. “Faeus…?”
Faeus corrected his address coldly. “Supreme Leader.”
However, Xu Cenfeng paid no mind. He lay on the pillow, quietly observing the cigarette in Faeus’ mouth, his thoughts drifting afar.
Xu Cenfeng had been sick in his past life too. Whenever Faeus wanted to come forward to take care of him, he was coldly rejected. After all, one had a cold and irritable temperament, while the other harbored resentment. Every time they met, they quarreled like enemies, with rare moments of peace and calmness.
But Faeus never truly ignored him. He would only pace outside the corridor, smoking anxiously, lingering all night until dawn before finally leaving. Every time Xu Cenfeng opened the door, he could see a pile of burnt-out cigarette butts in the corner.
“Supreme Leader, stop smoking.”
Xu Cenfeng suddenly spoke softly, reaching out to take the cigarette from Faeus’ mouth. His hand, like carved from jade, was slender yet defined, glaringly white under the lamplight, contrasting sharply with the female zerg’s bronzed skin.
Faeus glanced at him sideways, coldly raising an eyebrow. “Why?”
Xu Cenfeng sat up on the bed, despite feeling somewhat weakened by his illness. However, there was no shortage of genuine concern in his tone: “Your wound hasn’t healed yet.”
Faeus turned his head, still repeating the same phrase: “It’s none of your business.”
Xu Cenfeng didn’t argue with him. His gaze fell on Faeus’ shoulder as he quietly approached from behind. “I want to see your wound.”
Although his tone was questioning, his fingertips had already landed on Faeus’ shoulder, causing the latter to stiffen. Angrily, Faeus rebuked, “Take your hand off!”
Xu Cenfeng exhibited no hostility, resembling a gentle breeze on a spring day or the murmuring of a mountain stream, warm and clean. He reminded Faeus softly by his ear, “Don’t forget, I am a doctor.”
He knew how to handle delicately, “I just want to take a look at your wound, nothing else.”
As they drew closer, the scent of pheromones emanating from the male zerg became even stronger and clearer. Faeus’ mind briefly faltered, and in just that moment, Xu Cenfeng agilely unbuttoned his shirt.
The female zerg’s bronzed skin gradually exposed to the air, with well-defined muscle contours, resembling a rich piece of chocolate unwrapped, tempting and mouth-watering.
For some reason, Faeus’ legs felt weak, nearly causing him to slide off the edge of the bed.
Xu Cenfeng reached out with one hand to pull him back, as if embracing him from behind. With the other hand, he undid the gauze wrapped around Faeus’ shoulder, only to find that, thanks to the remarkable recovery ability of the female zerg, the wound had already scabbed over.
Xu Cenfeng smiled. “Your wound has healed remarkably fast.”
However, the hand that held onto the female zerg’s waist didn’t let go.
Faeus was already highly sensitive due to nearing his estrus period. Coupled with the male zerg’s pheromones, he could only barely maintain his composure. With a furrowed brow, he said, “I’ve said it before, I won’t die.”
Xu Cenfeng noticed Faeus’ erratic breathing and reached out to touch his forehead. “Why are you so hot?”
It wasn’t just the heat; it was the discomfort of restlessness.
But Xu Cenfeng’s hand was cool and soothing, offering comfort.
Faeus’ chest rose and fell unevenly, wondering if this zerg was going to infect him with a fever. His deep green eyes looked at Xu Cenfeng, his voice hoarse and heavy, “You’re a doctor, don’t you know?”
Of course Xu Cenfeng knew. He gently traced the zerg patterns on the back of Faeus’ neck, causing him to shudder violently. Remaining calm, Xu Cenfeng spoke, “Your estrus period is approaching.”
Female zergs, after reaching adulthood, would experience estrus periodically. Without the soothing pheromones of a male zerg, they would have to endure it alone, the higher their mental strength, the harder it would be.
In his past life, Faeus had managed to endure the most perilous first time on his own, then the second and third times. However, it was unfortunate that after Xu Cenfeng came into the Zerg race, he couldn’t endure the fourth estrus period.
Xu Cenfeng had a premonition that Faeus might not be able to endure the fourth estrus period in this life either. There was no particular reason, just a gut feeling.
He felt the female zerg in his arms seemed even hotter and weaker, like a melting piece of chocolate. He whispered, “Aren’t you planning to find a male zerg to help you through your estrus period?”
If Faeus had decided to find a male zerg for the first time, why endure until the fourth time? His neck was throbbing as if it were about to explode. He struggled to push Xu Cenfeng away, feeling irritated as he spat out four words, “I don’t need it!”
Xu Cenfeng couldn’t help but wonder, if Faeus was already in such pain enduring the fourth time, how would he manage the remaining estrus periods in his past life after Xu Cenfeng left the Zerg race?
It could have been so simple to wash away the scent markings with medication, but Faeus refused. Thus, he had to endure the torment day after day.
It’s all karma.
“Hush…”
Xu Cenfeng pulled Faeus back into his embrace. He smoothed out the female zerg’s tousled red hair, enveloping him from behind, then placed a gentle kiss on the back of Faeus’ neck.
There was no hiding this time, the sensation was crystal clear.
Faeus’ pupils contracted in shock. “Damn it! What are you doing?!”
Which doctor kisses their patient while treating them?!
Xu Cenfeng glanced at him. “Helping you heal.”
He lowered his gaze and kissed Faeus again. “Are you uncomfortable?”
Faeus stiffened. He didn’t want to admit it, but his volatile mental state seemed to have indeed alleviated some of the pain. Damn it, how could this be?!
Seeing Faeus’ silence, Xu Cenfeng slowly peeled off the bothersome military shirt from his body, guiding him to lie down in his arms. Delicate kisses landed on sensitive spots, causing Faeus to subconsciously squirm and furrow his brow. “Mmm… Itchy…”
Why did it feel so strange?
Xu Cenfeng paused. He hadn’t intended to do anything, but seeing Faeus lying in his arms with a furrowed brow, he impulsively kissed a spot.
In their past life, they had never been this intimate. Their encounters were cold and indifferent, each accompanied by pain, as if it were just routine.
“Does it feel better?” Xu Cenfeng’s gaze was gentle.
Faeus lay on the bed, his gaze unfocused, his chest rising and falling unevenly. He seemed immersed in a sea of pheromones, and that familiar scent was slowly healing the pain brought by his volatile mental state, making him feel so comfortable that he lost his clarity of mind.
Seeing Faeus’ response, Xu Cenfeng took it as his silent consent and continued to place warm kisses on Faeus’ shoulder. He covered them both with the blanket, lying down together on the soft bed.
“Go to sleep.” It wasn’t appropriate to mark now; Xu Cenfeng could only do this much.
But Faeus felt an unbearable itch in his chest. His stern brows furrowed, and his voice was hoarse with discomfort. “Xu Cenfeng!”
That area was also his sensitive spot.
Xu Cenfeng pulled him into his arms, turned off the crystal lamp, and spoke softly in the darkness. Only a few blurred words could be heard, “Be good, I’ll kiss you there later…”
Outside, the northern wind dispersed, the heavy snow ceased, and the moonlight became even clearer, making the world seem purer.
In the early morning, the soldiers on duty were preparing for a shift change when they suddenly saw a figure stagger out of the room. His clothes were disheveled, and to their surprise, it was their leader, Faeus.
The soldiers were momentarily stunned, but quickly saluted as they realized the situation. “Supreme Leader!”
Faeus was still wearing yesterday’s military uniform, but for some reason, his white shirt was wrinkled, and even the buttons were done up incorrectly. He furrowed his brow, clutching his chest, his expression a mix of strangeness and embarrassment, so dark it seemed water could drip from it.
The soldier was utterly clueless, and he approached obsequiously, asking, “Supreme Leader, are you feeling unwell? Shall we call a doctor for you?”
Faeus responded through gritted teeth with a single word, “Get lost!”
Faeus was in a terrible mood, and not just any kind of terrible, but exceptionally terrible. He woke up early to find himself lying in bed with Xu Cenfeng, which was bad enough, but then he noticed his chest was red and swollen, covered in shallow bite marks. Memories from last night flooded back, making him wish he could bash his head against the wall.
Damn it, he shouldn’t have been anywhere near any male zergs when his estrus period was approaching!
Faeus hastily put on his military uniform jacket, not even in the mood to settle scores with Xu Cenfeng, and quickly left the hotel. It was the first time in his life that the leader, who never liked to dress neatly, fastened the buttons of his shirt collar tightly, covering his chest securely, looking as neat as possible.
Standing at the door, the soldiers on duty couldn’t help but exchange glances.
“Did the leader get embraced by that male zerg inside again?”
“Embraced?”
“…Assaulted?”
With the leader’s disheveled appearance, it certainly looked more like the latter term.
Xu Cenfeng had been sleeping, only awakening when he heard the sound of Faeus slamming the door and leaving. He subconsciously looked into his arms, only to find them empty, with only lingering warmth remaining.
He must have left…
Xu Cenfeng wasn’t surprised. He lazily lay back on the pillow, covering his eyelids with the back of his hand, thinking that with Faeus’ stubborn nature, it would probably be some time before he came back again.
Xu Cenfeng understood Faeus too well; his speculations about him in this life had never been wrong. In the following week, besides the doctor’s regular visits to check on Xu Cenfeng’s health, Faeus indeed never appeared again, as silent as if nothing had happened.
However, the soldiers on guard duty at the door would occasionally bring various necessities, such as fresh clothes or warm socks, arranged with meticulous care.
Xu Cenfeng could tell just by looking at the clothes, all in shades of black and gold, that they had been chosen by someone’s hand. He didn’t refuse any of them and accepted everything as it came.
Since the North rescued the male zergs that had been plundered by interstellar pirates, the West had sent troops to retrieve their own region’s male zergs. However, they clearly underestimated Faeus’ ambition and greed. The conditions they proposed did not satisfy Faeus, so both sides remained deadlocked.
The Western zergs staying at the Chloe Hotel, just like Xu Cenfeng, seemed somewhat content, enjoying the change from the typical submissive nature of the West to the wilder style of the North.
Every time Xu Cenfeng opened the window for some fresh air, he could see them coming and going with different female zergs, all dressed in military uniforms. They had slender, strong bodies, with bronzed skin exuding a wild and rugged aura, and even the lowest rank among them was at least a major general.
Xu Cenfeng lowered his gaze, thinking that Faeus must have extracted most of the secrets from the western military by now.
Most of those western male zergs came from noble backgrounds, with their fathers and brothers working in the military. They would likely know some confidential information to varying degrees. And most male zergs lacked intelligence, especially in bed. Faeus could easily send a few female zergs to seduce them and naturally extract any information he wanted.
Xu Cenfeng closed the window, shutting out the cold wind from outside.
He checked the time and suddenly realized that he hadn’t been out for quite a long time due to his fever. Changing into a fresh set of clothes, he decided to go out for a stroll. Despite spending a long time in Hossburgh in his past life, he hadn’t really explored much.
Since the day Xu Cenfeng had the fever, there were new soldiers stationed at the door. They appeared to be much more disciplined than the previous ones, neither prying into idle matters nor looking around. As Xu Cenfeng unexpectedly stepped out of the door, one of the soldiers raised his hand in a military salute, “Your Excellency, do you have any orders?”
Xu Cenfeng replied, “Nothing, I just want to go out for a walk.”
The two soldiers exchanged a glance and then looked back at Xu Cenfeng. “Your Excellency, Supreme Leader Faeus instructed us that if you go out, we must accompany you to ensure your safety.”
The customs in the North were robust, unlike the West. Most of the male zergs in Hossburgh wouldn’t venture out alone and typically brought female zergs from their homes to ensure safety.
Xu Cenfeng didn’t refuse and pondered for a moment before replying, “Alright, but don’t follow too closely.”
One of the soldiers cast a discreet glance at Xu Cenfeng and tentatively asked, “Your Excellency, may I be so bold as to ask what you intend to do when you go out?”
Apart from Xu Cenfeng, the Chloe Hotel also housed five Western male zergs. During this time, they were either out shopping or indulging in pleasure with female zergs. Only Xu Cenfeng seemed markedly different, quiet in a way that seemed unusual.
This soldier, tasked by Faeus to guard the hotel, couldn’t help but ask a few more questions. After all, Western male zergs were notorious for their licentiousness. Could it be that Xu Cenfeng couldn’t bear the loneliness and wanted to seek pleasure like those male zergs downstairs?
He was already hesitating whether to report to Faeus.
Xu Cenfeng was unaware of his thoughts and shook his head. “Nothing in particular, just strolling around.”
With that said, he turned and headed downstairs, not even waiting for the elevator.
