Honestly, even through his pants, I could still feel that Wen Xu’s… was so big! Geez, it felt like it had no end.
Just as I was thinking this, Wen Xu suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist, and before I could react, he moved me to a spot beside him. Then, with lightning speed, he stood up and walked out of the classroom.
“What?” I thought, puzzled. What was he up to? I hadn’t even had a proper check yet!
Soon after Wen Xu left, the club president started announcing the results of the last vote for the new president. The Detective Club changes its president every two years, and this time, everyone clearly cast their votes for Wen Xu.
“Alright, the voting results are in! No need to count; the answer is obvious. Let’s give a round of applause to our new president, Wen Xu!” the president announced with a raised voice, stirring excitement.
However, our new president, Mr. Wen, was nowhere to be found. Everyone began whispering among themselves, curious about his absence.
“Eh, where’s Wen Xu?” The current president looked puzzled. When he spotted me in the crowd, he pointed and said, “Ning Ran, call Wen Xu, quick.”
Since Wen Xu and I shared a dorm, everyone assumed we were close, so the task naturally fell to me. I responded and went outside to call him.
Wen Xu wasn’t the type to miss a club meeting without a reason. What could he be up to? After a few rings, he picked up, and I quickly told him, “Wen Xu, where did you go? Come back quick, you’ve become the new president.”
I figured I might as well be the one to break the news to him. But something felt off—he was breathing heavily. After a pause, he replied, “I got something to do, I’ll be back soon.”
There were strange noises in the background. Was he climbing stairs?
“Oh, then hurry up,” I said, about to hang up when Wen Xu, in a hoarse voice, added, “Ning Ran, call my name again.”
“Huh?” Although I didn’t know what he was up to, calling his name wasn’t a big deal. So, without thinking much of it, I shouted, “Wen Xu! Is that okay?”
There was no response, just a click as he hung up.
Damn. So much for gratitude!
About 20 minutes later, Wen Xu finally returned and headed straight for the podium. Standing there, he looked like a superstar. The room filled with applause as he officially took over as the new president.
With the new president in place, it was time to bid farewell to the graduating senior president. We all went for hot pot nearby, and by the time we got back, it was almost 9:30.
Wen Xu and I returned together, and I noticed a notice in the lobby stating that the third floor would be without water and power for maintenance over the weekend. This news baffled me! Just as I was thinking about spending the next two days on the fifth floor with my classmates, Wen Xu suddenly said, “Why don’t you come to my place these next two days? It’s close to the school.”
“Ah?”
“Since the dorm will have no power or water, why not stay at my place for two days?” Wen Xu spoke calmly, and it made sense, so I quickly agreed.
Wen Xu, what a great roommate.
After packing my things, we got into the car Wen Xu had called, and in less than ten minutes, we arrived at his place. Eh, why was it an apartment near the school?
I asked, “Why rent an apartment near here if you still stay in the dorm?”
“It’s not rented. I bought it a while ago.”
“…” Hey, is that the point? Are you showing off your wealth or what?
“What I mean is, even though this place is close to the school, walking still takes time,” Wen Xu explained. “The apartment was bought a while ago, so there’s no rent, and I can come back whenever needed.”
“Okay, I get it,” I said, though I didn’t truly understand. Why cram into a dorm when you have a fully equipped apartment? For a study machine like Wen Xu, I guess time really is money.
Since it was late, Wen Xu let me shower first. I didn’t hesitate. When I came out, Wen Xu had thoughtfully prepared a cup of milk for me—my usual brand.
“Thanks,” I said, licking my lips.
Wen Xu nodded, then it was his turn to shower. While he was in the shower, I stared at his big bed, thinking.
Method 2: [Sleep with him to observe if he has rapid breathing, accelerated heartbeat, etc.]
Now was the perfect time to test it. In the past few experiments, Wen Xu seemed totally uninterested in me. This was my last try. If he still acted indifferent, I could rule him out.
After Wen Xu finished his shower, I sat on the bed and said, “Let’s sleep, it’s late.” I patted his bed for emphasis.
Wen Xu: “…”
Me: “?”
Wen Xu: “Okay.”
After drying our hair, Wen Xu finally let me get into bed. Just as I lay down, he asked, “Have you ever slept with someone else?”
“Ah?” I thought for a moment. “Yeah, didn’t Gu Yang come to sleep with me when he was scared of thunder?”
Wen Xu: “…”
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“Nothing. Let’s sleep.” Wen Xu sounded a bit unhappy as he lay down on the other side of the bed.
As we turned off the lights, the bright moonlight draped over us like a soft blanket. It was quiet, and although there was a distance between Wen Xu and me, I could still see his perfectly sculpted side profile under the moonlight. He looked cool, almost otherworldly.
He had already closed his eyes, seemingly unfazed. But as I watched him, I felt my heart race.
“…”
Damn, why was my heart racing?
Wen Xu seemed completely unbothered.
Could it be that I’m… not straight?
I immediately turned my back to him, shaking off the dangerous thought. Since I usually sleep with my hand under the pillow, I slid my right hand underneath. That’s when I felt something… strange.
It wasn’t an eye mask. I pulled it out and examined it in the dim light. To my shock, it seemed more like a… pair of briefs?
To confirm, I turned on the light. Sure enough, I was holding a pair of black briefs in my hand.
And they looked all too familiar. Yes, they were the expensive pair I had lost!
