OMS Chapter 21

For now, I motioned for Viirant to sit, and that’s when I realised there was only a bed in this room.

When we first started our journey, we stayed at the most luxurious inns in each town, but I quickly asked for that to stop.

I used to live in a rundown shack, so I’ve never been able to get used to overly extravagant rooms. The thought of breaking something always made me nervous.

Because of that, we now stay at simple inns that are safe and protect us from the rain and wind, the kind knights use. So, there are just two beds in the room, no sofas.

Which means, if we’re going to sit, we naturally end up sitting next to each other on the bed.

—Well, whatever.

Whether it’s on a sofa or a bed, it’s not like what we’ll do changes. I’m not ready to offer my rear yet, but for anything else… well, yeah. Instead of doing it secretly on my own, it’s just going to be doing it together now, I guess. Considering the intense kissing and affection I’ve received, it feels like no big deal at this point.

Surprisingly, I don’t even feel that disgusted being touched by a guy. In fact, it felt so good it was troubling. If I no longer had to hold back from coming just from a kiss, it wouldn’t be a bad choice for me either.

…That’s what I’m going to tell myself anyway.

As for love and all that, I don’t really get it. I haven’t fully grasped Viirant’s feelings either. Even though he shared his feelings with such heartbreaking intensity, all I could think was how troublesome it was. I mean, of all people, he didn’t have to pick a worn-out old man like me, you know?

Still, I don’t dislike Viirant. I can’t bear to see him in pain, and I find myself wanting to do whatever I can to help. Even though I’m not mentally prepared to get my rear plowed, when I see him blushing and saying he wants to hold me, I feel like I want to fulfill his wish. I mean, it’s not like my scrawny, worn-out body is something worth holding back. …Though, if I said that, Viirant would probably get super mad. He might even get sad, which is why I’ll never say it out loud.

Viirant, who had been in a daze, reached out awkwardly. He’s usually so confident, so what’s with him today? His cheeks flushed as his fingers gently brushed my cheek. His touch was careful, like he was handling something fragile, tracing my cheek and slowly moving to my chapped lips. I let out a small sigh, and soon his lips came down on mine.

After that deep, satisfying release, I lay there feeling pleasantly drowsy, savoring the gentle kisses Viirant left behind, my eyelashes fluttering.

Both my underwear and Viirant’s were a sticky mess. We didn’t take them off, so of course that’s how it would turn out, but thinking about the cleanup was a real headache. I decided that from now on, we should undress when we do this. For some reason, when I mentioned this to Viirant, his face turned red, and he froze, though I don’t really know why.

Taking Viirant’s offer to clean things up after I fell asleep, I quietly slipped under the covers. Viirant was sitting on the bed next to mine, leaning against the wall. Since it was his turn to keep watch, he couldn’t sleep, but he could rest his body with his eyes closed. I wondered if it was really possible to rest while staying so alert, but apparently, knights are trained for that kind of thing. It seemed like a tough job.

I squinted through the darkness, making sure Viirant didn’t notice, and checked on my blessing. Even though I had poured all my holy power into it before, it seemed the vessel had grown again after our intimacy. I should probably give him another infusion of power before we set off tomorrow. It was still a little embarrassing now, but after sleeping, I’d probably be more composed. Besides, if all I had to do was kiss him lightly to pour in some power, it wouldn’t be too awkward.

…Anyway, after what happened today, I’m not young enough to get turned on again. And that’s just fine.

“Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”

I couldn’t see his face in the dark, but I could tell Viirant was smiling. That made me smile too, and I pulled the covers up to hide it.

With a warm feeling spreading through my chest, I knew I’d sleep well tonight.
