Later, he began to live a life like a human, staying with Xu Dongyou’s family, and occasionally going on trips.
Watching the family chat about everyday trivialities brought him immense satisfaction.
Xu’s parents never imagined that their obedient and adorable child would one day become what was referred to as a “handler”.
They had seen the edited clips of the live broadcasts, featuring bizarre creatures and terrifying evils, all suggesting that the world was not as peaceful as everyone thought.
In this seemingly tranquil world, there were horrific monsters and evil beings constantly attempting to harm humanity. Each video filled Xu’s parents with dread.
Mother Xu couldn’t help but remember when Xu Dongyou was just eight or nine years old. He looked so well-behaved and beautiful, charming countless people, including classmates and even teachers who adored him.
Even back then, many girls wanted to befriend him. But the sweet and seemingly easy-going Xu Dongyou had a younger brother who would always protect him whenever classmates tried to get close.
Though Xu Yangchen was younger, he had grown quite tall from an early age and took on the responsibility of being an older brother, always looking out for Xu Dongyou.
There was a persistent feeling that if he didn’t keep an eye on things, his older brother would be bullied.
As Xu Dongyou grew up, he became increasingly striking. When he sat quietly, there was an inexplicable sense of distance; it was not fear, but rather a feeling that getting too close would be embarrassing or could tarnish him. Everyone instinctively maintained their distance while simultaneously protecting him.
Sometimes, when Xu Dongyou smiled, he looked so soft that it made the teachers want to pinch his cheeks to see if they felt as soft as they appeared.
But the teachers didn’t dare.
Neither did the classmates. The only one who dared was Mother Xu, who would pinch his cheeks every time, leaving Xu Dongyou covering his face, tears welling up in his eyes.
Mother Xu would laugh heartily, thinking her son was absolutely adorable. Though Xu Yangchen was also quite handsome and had many girls with secret crushes on him, everyone treated Xu Dongyou like a distant, ethereal mascot that could only be admired from afar.
However, this didn’t mean that Mother Xu could remain calm when, during a live stream, she saw her son suddenly summon water, vines, and mounds of earth with just a wave of his hand.
Their son didn’t seem as weak as they had previously thought; in fact, he was quite impressive!
After they finally accepted that their son was amazing, they saw on a live stream that he transformed into an incredibly cute long-tailed tit and she couldn’t keep calm!
Their son was actually not human!
This wasn’t an insult; it was just a factual statement. Once she managed to accept that her son was a creature, she discovered that his romantic interest was a dragon!
Mother Xu almost fainted on the spot.
That was a dragon! Although it didn’t look like the golden dragon they had imagined, a quick online search revealed that Zhulong was even more powerful and fearsome than a golden dragon.
Mother Xu found it hard to accept that her son’s partner was a dragon, no matter how open-minded she tried to be.
As for Father Xu…
He remained completely quiet throughout the ordeal. Mother Xu suddenly felt a bit envious of him and poked him with her elbow. “Hey, Old man, why are you so calm?”
Father Xu snapped back to reality, took a deep breath, and exclaimed, “This is impossible!!!!!!”
Mother Xu felt balanced again; it turned out he wasn’t calm—his brain had just lagged.
Later, as she watched Xu Dongyou and Zhulong together, she gradually accepted him. As long as her son was happy, what did it matter that his partner was a dragon?
Her son was still the cutest long-tailed tit among all birds! People online affectionately referred to him as “the dumpling that got stuck”, and they joked about how Xu Dongyou, being so round, managed to support his body with just two tiny wings.
Mother Xu couldn’t help but save screenshots of her son from the live stream on her phone, planning to look at them from time to time.
Oh, her son looked wonderful, whether in human form or in his true form!
Moonlit: And that’s a warp! Thank you everyone for reading. I hope you enjoyed Dongyou’s journey from start to end ^-^ I’m gonna miss them…
