IMAO Chapter 28.1

A Look of Relief

TLN: Since last chapter, author changed Adelman to Armand, and I’m too lazy to change all previous chapters. So, starting from this chapter, Adelman would be Armand.

“Ge, I’m sorry. I know you’re very angry…” Qiu Jingming stepped forward, grasping Jiang Yuan’s trembling arm with his pale hand. “But I really couldn’t help it.”

Jiang Yuan was inwardly elated, feeling as if he could walk shoulder to shoulder with the sun. However, he struggled to control his expression, trying not to let a smile slip. Yet, feigning a hurt expression proved equally challenging.

As Qiu Jingming leaned in, clearly expecting to see Jiang Yuan’s bewildered, pitiful, and incredulous face, Jiang Yuan felt his approach. He pushed away Qiu Jingming’s hand, stepping back to create distance between them. Covering his face with his hand, he said, “I need a moment to collect myself.”

Jiang Yuan turned and ran into the hotel. He really needed to regain his composure, primarily because he was overjoyed. He could barely control his facial expressions, knowing he should appear sorrowful, but he simply couldn’t manage it!

As Jiang Yuan ran away, Ji Rong immediately followed.

People exiting the hotel witnessed this scene: a handsome young man with his head lowered, lips curved in an alluring smile, running inside. Behind him, an equally attractive man followed, his deep, dark eyes filled with intense concern.

“Jiang Yuan, wait! Jiang Yuan!” Ji Rong called out anxiously behind Jiang Yuan. He hadn’t expected Jiang Yuan’s reaction to be so extreme, leaving abruptly!

His momentary joy upon hearing the “good news” instantly dissipated, replaced by urgency, worry, and heartache.

Jiang Yuan must be suffering terribly right now…

Without a second thought, Jiang Yuan dashed into the restroom, slamming the door shut behind him. Joy danced across his brow, his dark eyes curved like crescent moons, a smile never leaving his face!

At last, no one could see him, and he could laugh to his heart’s content!

He had been struggling to hold it in earlier.

Ji Rong, who had followed Jiang Yuan inside, knocked on the door three times. His brows furrowed into a frown as he hesitated before speaking in a low, slightly hoarse voice to Jiang Yuan inside the stall. “Jiang Yuan, stay calm and don’t hurt yourself…”

Jiang Yuan, who was currently overjoyed, cleared his throat artificially upon hearing Ji Rong’s concern. He said, “Ahem… Don’t worry, I’m fine. I just want to be alone for a while. Let me have some quiet time. I just need to calm down.”

Ji Rong pressed one hand against the door and said softly, “I understand. I’ll wait outside for you. Let me know if you need anything.”

“No need. You should go. Please take care of… Jingming… for me.”

Hearing Jiang Yuan’s voice break intermittently, accompanied by an odd tremor, Ji Rong felt even worse.

Was Jiang Yuan crying?

At this thought, Ji Rong’s mind conjured images of the valiant Jiang Yuan he had faced in battle. Such an expression of sorrow should never appear on Jiang Yuan’s face. Thinking of the person who had made Jiang Yuan cry, anger welled up inside him. That damn Alpha! Cheating was bad enough, but to do so with Jiang Yuan’s own brother!

What a bastard!

Alphas are no good, uh… except for him!

Jiang Yuan must be so heartbroken, yet he still asks him to look after his brother. Jiang Yuan must be suffering terribly right now.

Ji Rong wanted to break down the door and embrace Jiang Yuan. “Jiang Yuan, let me in, I…”

“No need. Just help me keep an eye on Jingming. I need to be alone to c-calm down… I’ll be fine soon…”

Interrupted by Jiang Yuan, Ji Rong’s outstretched hand halted midair. He sighed softly and said in a low voice before leaving, “I’ll go watch your brother. Take your time to calm down. I’ll come check on you later.”

“Mm…”

Jiang Yuan mumbled a response. Hearing Ji Rong’s departing footsteps, he finally let out a sigh of relief. At last, he didn’t have to hold back so painfully anymore.

While Jiang Yuan was beaming with joy inside, outside the restroom was chaos.

Ji Yang and the others, concerned after seeing Jiang Yuan and Ji Rong run into the hotel, brought Qiu Jingming inside. When they saw Ji Rong come out, Ji Yang rushed over in a few quick strides and asked in a hushed voice, “How’s Jiang Yuan?”

Ji Rong shook his head, his expression bitter. Seeing this, Ji Yang’s heart sank.

Earlier on the Goddess of Destiny, he had overheard Jiang Yuan’s communication with Song Yirui and Qiu Jingming. At the time, he felt their relationship was odd, but when he asked Jiang Yuan, he said they were just friends, so he didn’t pry further… Who could have imagined it would turn out like this!

Mu An held suppressants in his hand while supporting Qiu Jingming. His face was full of embarrassment. Just at lunch, he had jokingly warned Jiang Yuan to “watch out for green on his head,” and now he wished he could go back in time and slap himself. What a jinx he was!

He never expected his words to come true.

Mu An looked at Qiu Jingming with a complicated expression.

Strictly speaking, this incident couldn’t be entirely blamed on Qiu Jingming and Song Yirui. After all, during an Alpha-Omega heat, both Alphas and Omegas struggle to control their instincts. The fact that Qiu Jingming hadn’t mentioned his feelings for Song Yirui before and only told Jiang Yuan after the incident showed that the kid wasn’t all bad.

Unfortunately…

Sigh.

This must be devastating for Jiang Yuan.

But… why doesn’t Jiang Yuan’s brother share his surname?

Mu An shook his head vigorously, dismissing the strange thought that had crept into his mind. He shouldn’t be thinking about such things now.

Rubbing his nose, Mu An said softly, “Uh… why is the scent getting stronger?”

Ji Yang was startled. As the only Beta present, he wasn’t sensitive to pheromones. He looked at the Alphas in confusion, “What scent?”

A faint, sweet aroma had appeared after Qiu Jingming’s arrival.

“Pheromones,” Mu An replied without hesitation, turning to Qiu Jingming. “Jiang Yuan’s brother, are you really pregnant?”

Qiu Jingming retorted, “What do you mean? Are you doubting me?”

Irritated by Qiu Jingming’s response, Mu An released his supportive hold and shook his head. “That’s not what I meant. It’s just that you seem to be constantly emitting Omega pheromones.”

The scent from Qiu Jingming had intensified, causing the accompanying Alphas to feel a rising heat in their bodies. Omega pheromones were like a potent aphrodisiac to Alphas, capable of making them lose control.

Qiu Jingming finally noticed the scent in the air and immediately felt uncomfortable. The sweet fragrance grew stronger, and his body began to heat up, reminiscent of his drug-induced heat. His body started craving!

As his body temperature rose and his legs weakened, he longed for an Alpha’s embrace and possession.

Qiu Jingming’s earlier anger at being doubted vanished, replaced by fear!

To control the timing before, he had deliberately taken medication to induce an early heat. His encounter with Song Yirui had only lasted a few hours, clearly different from the heat cycles described in biology class!

He… he was now truly entering his first natural heat!

Passing Alphas, affected by Qiu Jingming’s pheromones, stared at him like hungry wolves. Qiu Jingming’s face turned pale.

An Omega in heat appearing in public was doomed.

‘Rape’ by multiple Alphas! These Alphas would be innocent because… the law stated that Alphas were not guilty when an Omega in heat roamed freely.

Qiu Jingming trembled in fear, his face as white as paper. The flush from his heat made his fair skin look like a work of art, making others want to ravage him even more. Six or seven Alphas had already gathered around!

Most terrifying was his body’s desperate craving for an Alpha. The faint Alpha pheromones in the air were a fatal attraction to him!

Realizing the situation from Mu An’s words, Ji Yang’s first instinct was to immediately take Qiu Jingming to a room upstairs. Only by getting him into a room and closing the door, completely suppressing the outflow of pheromones, could they prevent the surrounding Alphas from going mad!

He kicked open the restroom door and shouted, “Jiang Yuan, come out quickly! It’s bad, your brother is in heat! Damn it!”

When the joyful Jiang Yuan suddenly heard Ji Yang’s voice, his happiness instantly vanished!

An Omega in heat in a public place was an absolute disaster for the Omega.

Jiang Yuan had no time to dwell on this unexpected betrayal. He pushed open the door and rushed out.

The sweet Omega pheromones in the air could no longer be concealed, like the scent of flower nectar, driving nearby Alphas to approach. Some with more self-control immediately left the hotel upon detecting the pheromones.

Jiang Yuan hurriedly ran out and looked down at the despairing, crying Qiu Jingming. He quickly extended his strong arms and lifted Qiu Jingming up.

But then his body jolted as the Omega in heat clung to his neck, frightening Jiang Yuan to the core.

The control pheromones had over people was terrifying, truly like wild animals!

“Jingming, don’t move. It’s your brother,” Jiang Yuan said in a low voice while holding Qiu Jingming.

However, Qiu Jingming had lost all reason. The heat made his body weak, craving an embrace. Blocked by Jiang Yuan, he let out dissatisfied moans.

Qiu Jingming’s breathing became increasingly rapid. He even reached out to caress Jiang Yuan’s lips, his eyes unfocused…

Jiang Yuan: …

Unaffected by the pheromones, Jiang Yuan naturally felt no physical discomfort from Qiu Jingming’s actions. However, with Qiu Jingming moving around so erratically and the surrounding Alphas to deal with, he couldn’t handle it!

Jiang Yuan swiftly struck Qiu Jingming’s neck, controlling his strength perfectly to just knock him unconscious. With Qiu Jingming taken care of, his gaze swept over Ji Rong and the others.

A glint of wariness flashed in his eyes. These guys were all Alphas. He no longer hoped for their help; it would be good enough if they didn’t harm the Omega in heat!

He was most concerned about Ji Rong. Jiang Yuan knew Ji Rong’s capabilities, his combat prowess was astounding. In their sparring matches, Jiang Yuan had both won and lost. If Ji Rong were to be driven mad by the pheromones, they’d be in real trouble.

“Get away!” Jiang Yuan’s voice was cold and low.

Ma Lin and Armand were also startled by this scene. They were manufacturing students with decent physical abilities and could protect Qiu Jingming, but while they were still rational now, they might not be later. When Jiang Yuan told them to leave, they quickly complied!

The two covered their noses and retreated far away, fearing that the pheromones might control them and make them do something unforgivable.

“Jiang Yuan… we’ll head out first, then!” Armand said softly.

Jiang Yuan nodded, “Mm.”
