INSIDER Chapter 109

The deep, restrained voice of Seven whispered in his ear. Behind him, he felt a hot, hard object pressing against him, and delicate kisses rained down on the nape of his neck.

Lu Chu’s face flushed red. “They’re all outside…”

“I know,” Seven replied, planting another light kiss on Lu Chu’s cheek and inhaling the warm, clean scent of his neck. He suppressed the surge of desire within him. “Just let me hold you for a while.”

Hearing this, Lu Chu allowed himself to be held from behind by Seven.

Seven had traveled alone through countless games, killing one “rule” designated person after another. Gradually, all his emotions had vanished in the endless, tedious time. He became cold and indifferent, like a humanoid killing machine created by the “rules,” devoid of desires and lacking emotions. No matter what happened, his heart remained as still as a dead sea.

Until he met Lu Chu, he had not felt the emotions a person should have again.

This intense, suffocating love transformed into deep desire, gradually accumulating in his heart until it was about to overflow.

It was Lu Chu who gave him his humanity.

.

It turned out that when holding the one you love, it’s very difficult to suppress feelings of desire and longing. The physical contact only intensified the emotions, making the urge to possess completely grow stronger.

“Have you all found your weapons?” Yuan Kejie’s voice suddenly called out from the living room.

Seven finally let go of Lu Chu.

Lu Chu snapped back to reality, his face still warm.

Seven rubbed Lu Chu’s soft, red earlobe, his eyes filled with a hidden, affectionate indulgence, suppressing the urge to devour him whole.

To hide his heated face, Lu Chu lowered his head to look at what he had taken from the counter. He realized it was a steel saw.

A manual steel saw might not look as intimidating as a chainsaw, but its sharp teeth were ferocious enough. One cut from it would undoubtedly cause severe injury, leaving skin and flesh torn apart.

“It suits you,” Seven remarked.

Lu Chu nodded. “I think it’s pretty good too. As a starting weapon, its lethality is extraordinary, and it feels good in hand.”

Thinking of something, Lu Chu asked Seven, “What about you? Do you have a weapon?”

“I can use anything,” Seven replied.

Even if he was barehanded and encountered ordinary players with firearms, they would have a hard time posing a threat to him.

For this reason, he was the “rule’s” favored killing tool.

Strong and aloof.

Lu Chu had long known about Seven’s prowess. Hearing his response, he knew Seven was confident and smiled as he reminded him, “Be careful.”

Seven rubbed the top of his head and kissed his nose lightly. “Hmm.”

They walked out.

Yuan Kejie was holding a sickle, and Song Gui had a baseball bat, waiting in the living room.

When Yuan Kejie saw the steel saw in Lu Chu’s hand, she widened her eyes and gave a thumbs up. “Whoa, impressive, you’re already the boss of the newbie village.”

At this moment, Luo Qi also came down from upstairs, carrying a large wooden plank on her shoulder. The plank had sharp edges at both ends, making it a good weapon. However, it was so huge that it seemed like it might topple her small frame.

Yuan Kejie was shocked. “What did you take apart?”

“The bed,” Luo Qi replied succinctly. “There was nothing handy here, so I made something myself.”

Yuan Kejie gave another thumbs up. “You all have a bright future!”

Luo Qi shrugged. “Make do for now. I’ll switch when I find a suitable weapon.”

Qian Zhen also found his weapon, a piece of steel pipe with its ends sharpened to points, making it extremely dangerous.

Seeing Seven empty-handed, Song Gui couldn’t help but ask, “Qi Li, you didn’t find a weapon?”

Seven replied, “I’ll decide when I find a suitable one.”

This meant he was completely fine barehanded.

Song Gui’s understanding of Seven’s combat strength was refreshed once more.

Noticing Seven wasn’t fond of conversation, Song Gui refrained from further questions, thinking to himself—sure enough, he’s only soft when it comes to Lu Chu.

.

After some preparations and gearing up, they were ready to leave the villa.

They didn’t carry much, mostly useful tools and weapons. They only brought a little food and water since the entire purge day lasted only one day, and they were used to harsh environments, even capable of going without food and water until the purge day ended at noon tomorrow.

Song Gui checked his belongings, swung his baseball bat, and said, “Let’s go, meet the other players.”

And so, they left the villa.

It was only about one o’clock in the afternoon. Six people, each holding different tools and weapons, walked in broad daylight on the deserted street, making for an odd sight that clearly indicated they were up to something during the purge day.

The curtains of the villa opposite them had been drawn open. Someone peeked through the iron fence to look at the strange group of six people walking out, and immediately pulled the curtains shut in fear.

Yuan Kejie remarked, “Why do I feel a bit embarrassed?”

Song Gui responded, “That’s your illusion. We are perfect.”

Lu Chu: “…”

At this moment, from the villa next door came a woman’s hysterical pleas and angry shouts. Lu Chu and the others exchanged wary glances.

They jumped over the fence into the neighboring yard, carefully crawled to the window, and peered inside through a gap.

The curtains were drawn, obscuring the view, but Lu Chu’s sharp nose caught an unusual scent.

“Blood,” Lu Chu informed the others.

Yuan Kejie whispered, “How many people are in there?”

“Who are you asking?” Luo Qi gave her a glance.

They weren’t locals, so how could they know who lived next door or how many people were there?

Yuan Kejie: “Uh…”

Lu Chu pressed his ear to the wall, concentrating on the sounds inside. After a moment, he spoke, “From the footsteps and breathing, there should be two people in the living room, but one of them is barely breathing. The other areas are too far for me to hear.”

Yuan Kejie praised, “Lu Xiao Chu is always reliable!”

Lu Chu smiled modestly but then furrowed his brow, listening closely to the wall again. “The other person also stopped making noise, but I didn’t hear footsteps moving away. If they suddenly go silent, the most likely outcome is… they’re also dead.”

The others were shocked by this.

Lu Chu and Seven exchanged glances.

After confirming the situation inside, Lu Chu suggested, “Maybe we can go in and take a look.”

With that, Song Gui and the others looked at Yuan Kejie.

Yuan Kejie patted her chest. “Leave it to me, but it might take ten or twenty minutes to open this kind of door.”

Lu Chu looked at the heavily fortified door, puzzled. “Can it be opened that easily?”

He thought such a heavily protected iron door would at least withstand several intruders and significantly delay any lock-picking attempts.

Yuan Kejie grinned proudly. “I’m a professional. Ordinary people would either smash the door or take hours to unlock it, assuming the people inside don’t notice you picking the lock.”

Luo Qi eyed her. “Were you a thief before?”

Yuan Kejie replied seriously, “I’m a legitimate security company professional.”

She then took out various tools from her small satchel and began picking the lock. Ten minutes later, Yuan Kejie successfully unlocked the door.

As the door opened, a strong smell of blood wafted out. The group, accustomed to such scents, showed no reaction and stepped inside.

Seeing the scene in the living room, Yuan Kejie exclaimed, “What a grudge!”

On the living room sofa lay a woman’s dismembered body, pieced together like a puzzle. The originally deep blue fabric sofa was soaked in blood, turning a dark purple-black. Nearby, a man had hanged himself with a rope tied to the chandelier. Beneath him was a bloodstained chainsaw.

It seemed the chainsaw was the man’s weapon to kill the woman.

Lu Chu’s gaze fell on the wedding photo hanging on the wall next to the TV. The man was the one who had hanged himself, and the woman bore a resemblance to the dismembered body on the sofa.

Lu Chu and the others were observing the crime scene.

Luo Qi’s eyes were entirely drawn to the chainsaw on the floor.

Perhaps Luo Qi’s desire for the chainsaw was too direct and intense, catching the attention of the others.

Lu Chu recalled thinking earlier that a chainsaw was more powerful than a regular saw, and now one appeared before him.

Song Gui looked at Luo Qi. “You’re trembling with excitement.”

Luo Qi ignored him, her eyes shining as she looked at the chainsaw.

Lu Chu laughed. “It is indeed a weapon that suits Luo Qi.”

Hearing this, Luo Qi discarded the wooden plank on her shoulder and picked up the bloodstained chainsaw from the floor. She lovingly wiped the blade with her sleeve, her eyes reflecting the chainsaw’s bloody glow.

Luo Qi smiled, clearly pleased.

Yuan Kejie couldn’t help but comment, “Luo Qi, you look like a psycho killer from a movie.”

Lu Chu agreed.

.

This villa only housed two people. After searching the place and finding no other useful tools or weapons, Lu Chu and his group prepared to leave.

Just as they were about to step out, the sound of a heavy motorcycle roared past outside, halting their movements. Lu Chu walked to the window, lifted a corner of the curtain, and looked out. He saw an off-road vehicle approaching from a distance. In the passenger seat was a man holding a rifle. He leaned out of the car, and as his sleeve lifted, it revealed a small section of his arm.

Lu Chu, with his sharp eyesight, immediately noticed the faint blue glow on the man’s arm.

Turning back to the others, Lu Chu announced, “The target has appeared.”

Everyone tensed up.

This would be their first confrontation with other players.

Who would be the prey and who the hunter? The answer would be determined by who emerged victorious in this battle.
