AMA Chapter27

“You finished eating?” Yu Chengsong leaned back in his chair and watched Yin Gu put down his chopsticks.

“En.” Yin Gu drank the last sip of wine.

Yu Chengsong himself got bored halfway through his drink, so he poured him a glass. He actually didn’t like drinking, so he only drank the glass reluctantly.

Yu Chengsong threw his phone away and stood up to clean up.

“I’ll clean up.” Yin Gu pressed his shoulders and pushed him back. “The chef is responsible for cooking, and I will take care of these chores.”

“Sensible.” Yu Chengsong continued to lie there with a clear conscience. He had drunk a few bottles of beer at Zhou Zheyu’s house, so that didn’t count. Now, after two glasses of white wine, he also felt a little lazy.

When Yin Gu was cleaning up, he felt that the chair was uncomfortable, so he moved to the sofa with his wine and collapsed on it.

The sofa cover should have been replaced by Yin Gu. It was a fresh cream green with a bunch of small daisies. Yu Chengsong suddenly remembered a sentence he had read on the Internet.

“The moment I saw him, I even thought about where to embroider the big red flower on our wedding quilt already.”

Yu Chengsong touched a small flower and felt that what he was thinking was not good, the embroidery was all messed up.

The table was empty, and there was a lot of noise in the kitchen. He turned around and shouted, “Don’t wash!”

Maybe the glass of white wine was too full. Yin Gu was a little drunk and he shouted from the kitchen, “Why?!”

“Come and chat!” Yu Chengsong shouted.

“Right away!” Yin Gu shouted, “Want some fruit?!”

“Is there any watermelon?!” Yu Chengsong shouted.

“Yes! It was cut very ugly!” Yin Gu shouted even louder.

“Let me see it!” Yu Chengsong shouted even louder.

The soundproofing in this kind of old building is very impressive. If you speak louder, the people next door can even understand what you are saying. If you shout, everyone above, below, left, and right can hear it clearly.

But it feels great.

Listen if you like.

When he came back to his senses, he felt a little dizzy. This had never happened to him, even after drinking one more glass in the past. His alcohol tolerance was truly uncanny.

He wasn’t sure if it was because of the alcohol or the person either…

Yin Gu brought a large plate of ugly watermelons of different sizes, sat next to him, and handed him two clean spoons.

Yu Chengsong took it and ate a piece of watermelon.

The sandy watermelon just taken out of the refrigerator was icy and sweet, and it cooled down his stomach, making him feel refreshed. Fortunately, he had good teeth; otherwise, he would have to brush his teeth with cold acid to avoid the alternation between hot and cold…

Yin Gu also ate a piece, leaned next to him, tilted his head, and asked, “Aren’t you hungry? You didn’t eat much, I only saw you drink.”

“I came here after eating at Zheyu’s house. I’m full.” Yu Chengsong took a sip of wine.

“Sorry for making you—” Yin Gu said.

“Don’t.” Yu Chengsong knocked the back of his hand with his wine glass. “This is not what I want to hear or what you want to say.”

Yin Gu sighed and smiled: “Okay.”

“Is it your dad?” Yu Chengsong glanced at him.

Yin Gu lit a cigarette, and the moment he put it in his mouth, his whole temperament changed.

It becomes pleasing to the eye.

This kind of pleasing to the eye has nothing to do with appearance. Yin Gu’s face is handsome, even with a shaved head. It’s his temperament that is no longer hidden, the hidden sharpness breaks through the shell and comes out.

Awesome.

“Yeah.” Yin Gu took a puff of cigarette and said after a while, “Dramatic series.”

“Your younger brother was hit again?” Yu Chengsong frowned. His younger brother and him as the older brother have two different characteristics. One is cool with punching people, and one is cool with getting punched.

“Actually, we can cooperate in the fortune-telling business.” Yin Gu laughed.

“Why does your father think you did it? Have you two been fighting since you were little? Have you beaten him before?” Yu Chengsong couldn’t figure it out. Yin Gu is not the type to fight openly, so he must have been exposed suddenly or something.

“No, I never hit him.” Yin Gu tapped his fingertips lightly, the cigarette ash falling. “This matter has to start from the beginning of my memory, it’s a long time ago.”

“No need to make a long story short, the fortune teller said I will live to be over 100 years old.” Yu Chengsong ate a piece of watermelon. “Please waste some time for me, living to be 100 years old is too damn scary.”

The corners of Yin Gu’s lips curled up, but when he thought of those things, he was forced to suppress them, and his eyelashes drooped again.

“My twin brother is called Yin He. We are twins, but we are not alike at all from head to toe. I am a top alpha, and he is just an ordinary alpha. His personality is just like what you said: obedient, sensible, and methodical, like a robot. I am different. I have loved to make trouble since I was a child. I can make trouble with anyone. I often come home from school with dirty clothes and pants, and my homework books are always lost.”

“My parents are both academics, and they are very, very, very serious. They despise… um…” Yin Gu thought for a while, “Unreliable? Ignorant? Unsteady? That’s probably it, kids like me.”

“You are abnormal?” Yu Chengsong wanted to say, then I’m out of my mind.

“The requirements are different. I was too naughty when I was young. The more they controlled me, the more I wanted to make trouble. My father punished me physically. He often made me stand against the wall to do homework all night. I was not allowed to sit down until I finished. I didn’t listen to the class at that time, so I wrote slowly. I often finished in the early morning. When he checked it, I continued to stand if there were any mistakes. I couldn’t even straighten my legs when I went to school the next day.”

Yu Chengsong didn’t know what expression to use when looking at him: “Is your father…” a little crazy?

“Not crazy.” Yin Gu looked at him and smiled. “I can tell what you’re thinking by just looking at your face.”

“That’s because I was too shocked. I thought…” Yu Chengsong paused and asked, “What happened next? You can’t be punished all the time, right?”

“En, I was naughty, but not stupid. Later, I continued to make trouble while listening to the class seriously, so I could finish my homework faster, and the punishment became insignificant. But my father soon found out. After discussing it with my mother, the punishment became not being allowed to sleep until I finished a new exercise book, being hit in the palm hard until I couldn’t hold the chopsticks steadily, finishing an entire copybook, and a few thousand words of self-reflection… Anyway, it was all things that I couldn’t finish in one night.”

“Agree to donate them ba.” Yu Chengsong put down the wine glass. If it weren’t for the fact that the glass belonged to Yin Gu and it didn’t look cheap, he would have wanted to crush it. “For the benefit of mankind.”

“So I actually don’t like studying at all, and I don’t like writing essays even more. It’s just a habit I developed when I was a kid.”

“I don’t want to listen in class, and I don’t want to do homework after school. But if I don’t do it, I feel uneasy, can’t sleep, and can’t eat well. I can only study.” Yin Gu put out the cigarette and lowered his eyelids to hide his emotions. “This thing can’t be changed just by saying so.”

Yu Chengsong listened silently, feeling unhappy.

Misery cannot be compared. No matter how he went through his childhood, he felt uncomfortable listening to Yin Gu talk about it. If it were him, there might be him but no Yin He, and one of them would die sooner or later.

“Later, I learned to be smart. If I didn’t obey, I would be beaten. So I obeyed. I suppressed my original character and obeyed.” Yin Gu said.

“There was a period of time when I almost had schizophrenia. I kept pretending to be a good kid, and I almost believed it myself. But I always felt that my life was not right, it was awkward and weird. Until one time, I was blocked and robbed by a few thugs outside the school. I fought with them and hit one of the thugs on the head so hard that blood came out. Maybe they didn’t expect a sixth grader to be so crazy, so the thugs ran away.”

“From then on, my desire for my nature became distorted. I had no freedom at all, and the only way I could vent my emotions was through sneaky acts of violence.” Yin Gu said. “It was completely the opposite of what they expected, and I have become what I am now.”

“What’s wrong with what you are now?” Yu Chengsong looked at him. “I like you the way you are now.”

“Really?” Yin Gu took a sip of water and smiled. “Actually, I’ve become much more stable emotionally since I came here. In the past, I had to go on a heroic mission once a week there.”

“It’s real, more real than diamonds.” Yu Chengsong said, “We have simple folk customs and outstanding people here.”

“I’ve been pretending to be fine, but at the beginning of this semester, they suddenly informed me that I was going abroad.” Yin Gu looked at the ceiling. “At that moment, I was suddenly scared. I knew that if I agreed this time, I would be finished. What kind of person I will be, what kind of path I will take, and what I will do in the future will all be meaningless because they are all arranged by others and have nothing to do with me.”

“I tried to decline politely but was rejected, so I blatantly had a fight at school… Can you imagine?” Yin Gu looked at him with a rare, childish smile and a sparkle in his eyes. “A three-good student1The “Three Good Students” is an honorary title given by Chinese schools to outstanding students who have been selected. The “Three Goods” refer to good moral character, good study, and good physical. The president of the student union and model representative of the whole school, had a fight in front of all the teachers and students after Monday morning exercises. The kind that required a serious warning and the parents to be called in.”

“Well done.” Yu Chengsong gave a thumbs up generously and laughed along, “And then you were sent to No. 1 Middle School.”

“En.” Yin Gu said, “Yin He saw me fighting once before, but I traded my first place in the grade with him, and he kept it a secret for me. Now that I’ve transferred to another school, he told my parents about my previous fight, and now they want me to go home and see a psychiatrist.”

“They don’t know who should see a doctor.” Yu Chengsong said, “Your brother really needs a beating from society.”

“He’s been beaten.” Yin Gu laughedm “He reported a gangster in school for smoking and was beaten and sent to the hospital.”

“The light of righteousness shines upon the earth.” Yu Chengsong sang.

“Your playlist is amazing.” Yin Gu said, “It covers a wide range of genres.”

“Do you need it? If you do, I’ll share it with you.” Yu Chengsong said.

“No, you just play one or two songs occasionally, I just want to listen.” Yin Gu knocked on the wine glass. “Not drink anymore?”

“I won’t drink anymore. If I drink more, I’ll get drunk and become crazy. I can’t handle alcohol well. I like to sing when I’m drunk.” Yu Chengsong thought for a while. “Actually, your brother’s problem is easy to solve. Isn’t he just a big mouth?”

“Five hundred yuan.” Yin Gu was happy. “Have you found a place to bury him yet?”

“Since we are friends now.” Yu Chengsong took a bite of watermelon, “I’ll give you a discount, four hundred and ninety.”

“Our friendship is too fragile, it’s only worth ten yuan.” Said Yin Gu.

“Seriously speaking, you won’t be able to go home this year, right?” Yu Chengsong thought it was amazing. Academic research can be done like this. Their IQ must’ve been gone. “They believe whatever your stupid brother says. Nothing good will come of it if you go back. It’s also good here.”

“Yes.” Yin Gu said, “More freedom.”

“You must have to make up your mind to call me this time, right?” Yu Chengsong suddenly laughed, with a hint of sarcasm. “When I answered the phone, I thought you were possessed by something.”

“No.” Yin Gu looked at him and corrected, “I dialed the number resolutely and quickly.”

“Impossible.” Yu Chengsong said.

“Really.” Yin Gu said, “If I lie to you, I’m a dog.”

“Son of a b*tch.” Yu Chengsong pointed at him.

“What kind?” Yin Gu asked.

“…What?” Yu Chengsong was stunned.

“What species am I?” Yin Gu asked.

“F*ck, your train of thought…” Yu Chengsong was impressed. “Sign up as a member, you are this tricky.”

“Can’t think of it?” Yin Gu leaned on the sofa, looked at him, and smiled, “Such a noobie.”

“Ai, are you really looking forward to fighting with me?” Yu Chengsong bumped him with his knee. “Right?”

“You mean…” Yin Gu asked.

“It’s just a simple fight.” Yu Chengsong shook his head, which began to turn slightly, then realized something was wrong.

What is a simple fight? And what is a complicated fight? Oh, and there are also those kinds of fights that end up on the bed.

F*ck.

Drinking will cause trouble.

Not sure if Yin Gu heard through it or not. He said “Oh” and said nothing more.

The air was quiet and peaceful. Yu Chengsong felt as if each second passed by as though it were billions of years. In just a few seconds, he could even imagine what his fossil would look like.

Scientists billions of years from now would never imagine that this fossil died of embarrassment.

“Really can’t think of it?” Yin Gu suddenly turned to look at him, his eyes natural, as if he were just drunk and dazed for a while. “Then let me think, I think you are… alas2He wants to say Alaskan husky.

“Drink this glass of wine.” Yu Chengsong poured him another glass. “I’ll just pretend you didn’t say anything.”

“Is this bullying?” Yin Gu looked at him with a smile but still took the wine glass and drank it. “It’s really unfair.”

“Are you drunk, or have you revealed your true colors?” Yu Chengsong looked at him and wanted to laugh. “You look like a golden retriever now.”

“Why?” Yin Gu asked very studiously.

“Because you feel so good to the touch.” Yu Chengsong rubbed his head.

“Alright.” Yin Gu did not resist and said in a deep way, “Who made me unable to beat you?”

Yu Chengsong opened his mouth, but his alcohol-corroded brain was slow to react, and he didn’t say anything naughty either.

The air was quiet again, and awkwardness emerged one after another.

It was very comfortable to be with Yin Gu before, but something was wrong tonight. It might be that his youngster’s mind was not pure anymore, he was thinking about too many things, and he was hesitant to do anything.

So even if he wanted to stay, he couldn’t.

Yu Chengsong glanced at the wall clock and gave himself a chance of survival.

He sat up straight, stretched, and said, “What time is it? I should go.”

What a natural question! If they didn’t fight and just showed off their acting skills, they would also probably end up in a tie.

“It’s past eleven o’clock.” Yin Gu looked at him and suddenly smiled. “Aren’t you worried about me? So stay and watch over me for one night.”

“This classmate, you are so shameless.” Yu Chengsong didn’t know what was wrong with his acting skills anymore, Yin Gu pointed it out. It was so embarrassing. It was extremely embarrassing.

Yin Gu looked at him lazily, the curve of his mouth making people want to slap him. “If you are hard on the outside but soft on the inside, you will suffer a lot if you meet someone who is unwilling to know more about you.”

“Are you talking about me?” Yu Chengsong said.

“I can say ‘I’m worried about you’ at this moment, but you can’t say ‘I’m not worried about you’, can you?” Yin Gu asked.

Always hide your good intentions behind your back, as if expressing them out loud would violate some heavenly law.

A light sentence pierced Yu Chengsong’s shell, and he looked straight at Yin Gu.

Not sure how much time has passed. He leaned back on the sofa again, took out a cigarette, and held it in his mouth without lighting it. “I didn’t fight with you today because I was too full to move.”

“When are you going to take a shower and go to bed?” Yin Gu leaned beside him and took out a cigarette as well.

“Now, I smell like cooking oil.” Yu Chengsong said, “Get me some clothes.”

“Oh.” Yin Gu nodded and then asked, “Wash by yourself?”

“Are you afraid of washing by yourself?” Yu Chengsong looked at him.

“I’m so afraid, I’m so scared that I couldn’t move anymore.” Yin Gu said.

“Then let’s do it together.” Yu Chengsong imagined the scene that would happen next. The moment the mosaic floated through his head, he was so stimulated that he almost slipped off the sofa. He regretted it so much.

“Free back rub?” Yin Gu asked casually.

“Your thoughts are more beautiful than your look3It wasn’t really abt his beautiful thoughts, it’s something like you dream big..” Yu Chengsong raised his middle finger.

The author has something to say: The author drank a sip of tea and said, Youngster’s desire was stirring…
