Jin Wuqi fainted before arriving at the hospital. He was rushed into the emergency room, while Yu Yang and Du Yele waited in the hallway.
Half an hour later, Jin Wuqi’s private doctor came out of the emergency room. He took off his mask, glanced at Yu Yang, and then at Du Yele.
“Tell us quickly. Is everything okay?” Du Yele asked anxiously.
“There are no signs of a miscarriage at the moment,” the doctor said.
Yu Yang stood motionless in shock.
“What about the glands? What about his glands?” Du Yele continued to ask.
“The wound is quite deep. But it didn’t damage any arteries or nerves. However, his glands were already severely damaged. So we need to observe him carefully tonight. He will be taken to the intensive care isolation room first. You cannot have contact with him for the time being.”
“What kind of injury did the glands suffer before?” Yu Yang stared at the doctor, asking.

Alpha pheromones reached his nose. He turned his head to see someone standing behind him, wearing a black duckbill cap, emitting a cold aura.
“Yu Yang,” Wei Yi called out grimly. “You really are obsessed with him, aren’t you?”
Yu Yang expressionlessly looked down at him. When he found out that Wei Yi had permanently ‘marked’ Jin Wuqi, he ignored Du Yele’s advice and drove Wei Yi straight to this warehouse.
At this moment, even if Yu Yang was still not clear about the facts of what happened between them, he could more or less guess that Wei Yi was the alpha who had failed to marry Jin Wuqi back then.
Jin Wuqi was still unconscious. Yu Yang glanced at him through the glass at the hospital before, not even having the chance to ask who the child was.

“Do you know what he has been through?” Wei Yi laughed as if he hadn’t heard a thing of what Yu Yang had said. His voice was hoarse. “He must have been keeping it from you all along, right?”
Yu Yang reached out and grabbed his neck, his fingers slowly tightening. Amidst the struggling gasps for breath, he said slowly, “I don’t care what he has been through. What I care about is that you dared to treat him like this.”
And Jin Wuqi endured all the pain silently until the end, never uttering a word of complaint to him.
Yu Yang lifted him halfway up from the ground by his neck, leaning in close. Among Wei Yi’s ragged breaths, Yu Yang’s voice sounded dark and chilling. “Going to jail is too easy for someone like you. I’ve contacted an underground research institute for you. They will conduct some experiments on you to see how long you, an alpha who injected pheromones into your pituitary gland, can survive.”
The latter part of his statement was delivered in a low, cold tone, with a threatening undertone. Wei Yi’s eyes flickered as if he could already foresee some cruel scenes.
Yu Yang dropped him to the ground. With his gaze calm, he spoke, “I really want to kill you. But I won’t do what he has always been unwilling to do. We both find it way too dirty.”
Jin Wuqi had countless ways to kill Wei Yi. But he didn’t do it. And Yu Yang understood his intention. That’s why he wouldn’t do it either.
Footsteps approached them. Cheng Che walked up to them, saying, “They are almost here.”
Yu Yang stood up and took the baseball bat from Cheng Che’s hand as he said coldly, “Then let’s hurry. If we cripple him, maybe the people at the research institute can give him new limbs.”

When Yu Yang returned to the hospital, Jin Wuqi was still not awake.
He stood outside the glass window, looking at the omega on the hospital bed. His gaze was unwilling to move away even for an inch.
At this point, even if he still didn’t fully understand the whole truth, one fact was becoming increasingly clear.
He loves this omega. From the past to the present, he had always loved him.
The pure love of his youth had turned into unattainable longing and unshakable attachment. It had turned into the blood he had swallowed down and into the entanglement in his heart. It was a fate intertwined with love and hate, a knot on the thread of destiny.
In these years, Yu Yang had been to so many places, mixing work and leisure. It seemed like he had never had a moment of complete respite. But now, looking back, he realised that no matter where he went, he had never truly left behind the scenery related to that omega.
The wind blowing on his face, the scent of flowers, the sight of the ocean – when he recalled them, he always felt that the summer after his high school graduation was forever the most beautiful. No scenery could compare to it.
Even if later, the memories were covered in dust, overshadowed by hatred, a diamond was still a diamond. It will forever shine.
That was why Yu Yang couldn’t forget him. That was why he wanted a clear stance. He didn’t want to be a casual fling. He didn’t want to be an old acquaintance. He wanted Jin Wuqi to belong to him completely. If that couldn’t be, he would rather end it there.
He didn’t want a distant relationship like reaching out for the moon. He wanted a close one, where the moon was within his reach.

“Jin and I were college classmates. Later, he took over his family’s business and I became his assistant.”
After a sleepless night, in the early hours of the morning, with the sun yet to rise, Du Yele and Yu Yang stood on the balcony of the hospital room. Jin Wuqi had been transferred to the intensive care unit. The doctor said he was temporarily out of danger and his glands were not infected or inflamed.
“So, I know a lot about his situation, very clearly.”
“I don’t know how to start. It’s a very long story. Just watching him go through it once makes me very sad. I don’t know how to tell you properly.”
“It’s okay. I have plenty of time to listen. I will listen carefully,” Yu Yang said, looking at the faint dawn on the horizon.
“Well…” Du Yele glanced at Jin Wuqi inside the room. He then sighed and continued, “He is very weak now, unable to tell you the whole story. And, if it were easy to talk about, he would have told you already. The more he worries about things, the harder it is to explain. Those things… are really heavy on him.”
“The child in his stomach…” Yu Yang suddenly turned his head and asked. But he didn’t finish the second half of the sentence, leaving it ambiguous.
Du Yele was puzzled. “What do you mean?”
“Nothing,” Yu Yang said.
After knowing about Jin Wuqi’s pregnancy and the injury to his glands, Yu Yang’s greatest concern was still Jin Wuqi’s health. He wondered why the glands were damaged and to what extent. As for the child, even if it wasn’t his, it was still Jin Wuqi’s. If Jin Wuqi was willing, they could raise the child together. If they had the chance in the future, they could have their own children as well.
He truly was an alpha without boundaries. But Yu Yang didn’t know what use having boundaries would be at this moment, or what significance it held.
He wanted a fresh start. It was not because of lingering feelings from his first love, not based on the impulsive fervour of high school students. But it was because of a reunion after maturity, one that was almost unrelated to the past. As long as this omega stood before him, Yu Yang could love him all over again.
“Are you stupid?” Du Yele looked at him inexplicably. “That’s your child. What are you thinking about?”
The sun peeked out, breaking through the darkness. Sunlight shone on Yu Yang’s face and his heart was pounding in his chest. He asked somewhat absentmindedly, “Mine?”
“Other than yours, whose else could it be?” Du Yele said irritably. He then lowered his voice, afraid of disturbing Jin Wuqi. “If you dared not use condoms, you should be prepared to be a father! You brainless alpha! How could Jin really take birth control pills? It’s a miracle that he can even get pregnant. He wants a child that belongs to both of you. What do you know!”
It was like receiving the most unbelievable yet longed-for news. Yu Yang stood stunned in place. His eyes showed a mixture of disbelief and excitement. The cold morning wind blew past his ears. The sound of the wind was ringing in his ears, but all he could hear was his own heartbeat.
