Yu Yang accompanied Jin Wuqi while he was recuperating in the hospital. He often found himself staring at the Omega’s face, wondering what would have happened if he hadn’t followed him that night.
Yu Yang always had a sudden illusion. His heart had been empty for too long. And now that he had everything, he couldn’t help but fear that it was all just a dream. Only when Jin Wuqi held his hand or hugged him did he feel a lifeline-like sense of reality.

“In a few days, when you’re discharged, move in with me.” Standing on the balcony, Yu Yang adjusted the blanket on Jin Wuqi and slowly tied his hair, whispering, “If you find it troublesome, I’ll move over to your place. How about that?”
“I’ll think about it.” Jin Wuqi leaned into his arms. He looked down, pinching the Alpha’s collar as he said with a smile.
“You can’t work overtime anymore.” Yu Yang smoothed the Omega’s hair and said, “Du Yele told me that you always stay at the company very late.”
“What else can I do?” Jin Wuqi lifted his head. His eyes were filled with a smile, but he furrowed his brows, looking troubled. “I have to earn money to buy baby formula. Raising a child is expensive.”
“Leave the money-earning to Daddy.” Yu Yang placed his palm on Jin Wuqi’s lower abdomen and said, “From now on, Daddy will work a few more overtime shifts, alright, baby?”
“It’s not well-developed yet. Talking to my belly won’t help.” Jin Wuqi laughed, “It’s still just a little bean sprout.”

Yu Yang had no time to appreciate the scene. His mind went blank with a loud buzz. He slammed the car door and hurried over, first draping a coat over Jin Wuqi, then taking the unlit cigarette from his hand. His face looked cold.
“The baby says; it wants to smoke.” Jin Wuqi said with a bright smile, looking at him.
“Just quit.” Yu Yang said coldly.
“I was just kidding.” Jin Wuqi wrapped his arms around Yu Yang’s neck and leaned into his embrace. “A client gave it to me and I took it without thinking. I didn’t even smell it. Don’t be mad.”
The fountain in the centre of the flowerbed quietly flowed. There was the magnificent hotel in front of them and the soft, golden lights around them which were not too bright but exuding warmth.
Yu Yang looked at him for a moment, then threw the cigarette into the flowerbed and took out a box from his pocket.
“My taste is ordinary. I used all my best judgement to fall in love with you.” He opened the box. “I chose it for a long time. And I don’t know if you will like it, but I couldn’t wait.”
Inside the box was a pair of shimmering rings, each set with a row of fine diamonds, simple yet elegant.
“Marry me,” Yu Yang said, looking intently at Jin Wuqi. His eyes were bright, filled with countless hopes and tenderness, overlapping with the eighteen-year-old boy from five years ago, still full of love.
“I have so much love to give you and so much time to spend with you.” Yu Yang said softly, “These are the words I wanted to say to you when I was eighteen. And I hope it’s not too late now.”
It was not too late. Never too late. Their hearts had always been for each other. Even if they had been separated and were filled with misunderstandings, in the end, they still had the chance to hold each other’s hand and sincerely confess their love.
Jin Wuqi blinked. The tears in his eyes looked like moist starlight. The Omega’s beauty seemed endless, eternally captivating with the scent of roses.
“Alright.” he said.
The cool rings slid over their slender fingers. Yu Yang lowered his head to place the ring on Jin Wuqi’s finger, then held his hand and gently kissed his ring finger.
Jin Wuqi also put a ring on Yu Yang’s finger. The two smooth, sparkling rings shimmered in the moonlight and lamplight, as if coated with a glowing warmth.
“You can’t give up on me anymore.” Yu Yang looked at their hands, feeling many uncontrollable emotions at this moment: heartache, grievance, sadness, regret. He was truly saddened. He looked up at Jin Wuqi and said, “No matter what happens, if you insist on leaving me, there can only be one reason. That is you don’t love me anymore. Nothing else is acceptable. I’m already the alpha who can solve everything for you. So I want to be the first and most important one in your life.”
Jin Wuqi tilted his head and kissed the corner of Yu Yang’s mouth. Tears slid down his cheek. The Omega didn’t say anything. He just nodded quietly.

Jin Wuqi was sunbathing in the garden, while Yu Yang and Jin Wuqi’s mother stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room.
