Fat-shaming, mentions of bullying
Wu Ruo’s heart sank.
He came along precisely because he’d guessed that there was definitely some kind of relationship between Wu Yu and the other three. Because in the past, every time Yu Tianbao and the rest would bully him, Wu Yu would always coincidentally appear and offer a helping hand.
The him in the previous lifetime had always been especially grateful when Wu Yu would appear just as the bullying was at its worst, that he would always appear in time, so that was why Wu Ruo had never really thought that hard about how there could be so many coincidences. From the way Wu Yu addressed them so disrespectfully, it was obvious at once that he often spoke poorly of Wu Ruo and his father in private2Generally, people don’t address each other by their names directly, you would use a title or relative form of address that indicates how you know someone. This is specifically a Chinese culture sort of thing, and might not make sense in English. Basically, Wu Yu is being rude af and just from his disrespectful term of address, it says a lot about what he thinks of them.. Wu Yu didn’t attach any sort of importance to Wu Ruo or his family members.
Wu Ruo had really been blind to think that the people who were out to hurt him were good people and foolishly lent his family’s magic weapons to them.
Although they called it lending, the Wu family actually never even returned anything. Later, when his older brother and younger sister had died, there was nobody left to use the magic weapons that were loaned out. So, his father never made the Wu family return any of the magic weapons. And after that, his whole family had died, so there was even less of a need to return anything.
However, in this life, he wouldn’t let them have their way.
Wu Ruo smiled coldly.
Those magic weapons that were lent out had been obtained at the risk of his dad’s life, and some were his mum’s dowry. He would definitely get them back one by one, but the method of getting them back in an open and aboveboard manner would still take some detailed planning.
