MROM Chapter 64

The news of An Wuyang and Dun Dun being discharged from the hospital and returning home was not deliberately hidden. Including An’s parents, all the relatives and friends of the Huo family knew about it.

Due to it being a workday, An Wuyang didn’t want his parents to go back and forth.

In a phone call the day before his discharge, he insisted that his parents shouldn’t come to see him off.

He also suggested that they come to the Huo family to see the baby on Saturday or Sunday.

This clear arrangement gave Ding Wei and An Cheng a feeling that their child had grown up unknowingly.

They felt a bit dazed these past few days.

As if they had agreed, the couple didn’t talk much about the Huo family matters.

This might be because they didn’t want to appear too unusual, or it might be out of helplessness.

The morning of the second day after An Wuyang’s discharge was sunny and beautiful.

He learned that his mother-in-law had prepared a table of breakfast carefully and wanted him and the baby to eat together.

Of course, Dun Dun was just there to watch; at his current stage, he could only drink milk.

Downstairs, in the living room.

Huo’s grandfather was eagerly waiting, occasionally looking at his wristwatch. “Has Wuyang and Dun Dun not woken up yet?”

His daughter-in-law, Zhang Ruoqi, joked, “Grandpa, don’t worry, they should be coming down soon.”

“Oh.” So the lonely old grandfather had no choice but to continue waiting.

Yesterday at noon, his granddaughter-in-law and great-grandson came back from the hospital, and he had visited his grandson’s room several times.

The newborn great-grandson was too adorable, and the elderly members of the family were reluctant to leave.

Later, because the granddaughter-in-law needed rest, he was chased out by his grandson.

There was a commotion upstairs.

Everyone looked up to see Huo Yunchuan carrying the mobility-impaired teenager coming down the stairs.

Behind them was the nanny Aunt Zhang, holding their precious young master, Dun Dun.

“Grandpa, mom, dad, good morning,” the little angel greeted each of them, his smile as bright as the sunshine outside the window.

It’s hard to imagine that he had just given birth and was still enduring the pain of postpartum.

“Wuyang, good morning. Did you sleep well last night?” Everyone’s attention, originally on Dun Dun, suddenly shifted back to An Wuyang.

Each person’s gaze was filled with concern, and even their voices subconsciously softened.

“I slept okay,” An Wuyang was put down by Huo Yunchuan and adjusted to a comfortable position. “It’s just that Dun Dun woke me up several times last night, either crying to be fed or wetting the bed.”

Zhang Ruoqi’s face showed concern. “Then how about this, let Dun Dun go to the nursery at night and let Aunt Zhang take care of him.”

In fact, she wanted to suggest this yesterday, but she was afraid that An Wuyang would feel uncomfortable leaving Dun Dun so soon after coming back from the hospital.

An Wuyang hesitated in his heart. “Well…”

Huo Yunchuan said, “I can take care of him myself.”

The Huo family members looked at him, surprised.

“Yunchuan, aren’t you tired?” Huo Xiao asked worriedly. After all, in the past ten days, Huo Yunchuan had never rested.

Huo Yunchuan shook his head but noticed the little angel looking at him with concern. “I’m not tired.”

He gave the little angel a comforting look, which appeared particularly charismatic in the little angel’s eyes.

At this moment, Aunt Zhang placed Dun Dun on the baby cot beside the dining table and took care of him together with the hostess.

In order to take care of the baby’s eyes, thick curtains were drawn in the house, making the interior a bit dim.

But this did not affect everyone’s mood for breakfast; they ate happily.

An Wuyang was no exception. He gradually began to enjoy this stress-free family atmosphere.

It would be great if things could stay like this in the future.

He could tell that Dun Dun’s grandparents and great-grandfather didn’t like him just because he had Dun Dun.

It was easy to distinguish.

Whenever they looked at him, An Wuyang found warmth in their eyes.

After breakfast, An Wuyang and Dun Dun were sent back to their room and were told that they couldn’t leave the room to play for another twenty days.

Fortunately, An Wuyang was a homebody. Not to mention not going out for twenty days, he had experienced staying indoors for nine months.

Soon, there was a call from home, asking about his discharge.

Today was a workday, and Ding Wei was standing in the office of the Huo family’s company, calling her son, who was now the head of the Huo family. She felt really conflicted.

“Regarding your matter, I’ve told your sister, and I’ll tell your brother when he comes back tonight.”

An Wuyang: “Hmm? Oh, okay, I received a text message from my sister.”

Based on their past habits, he found it difficult to initiate a call to his sister studying abroad.

After all, she always said she couldn’t chat with him and they had no common topics.

“Dun Dun being your biological child is our own business, and I don’t intend to elaborate on it with relatives. As long as we understand it ourselves,” Ding Wei considered the possibility of idle gossip and thought it was best to handle it this way. “And also… now that you’re married, there’s not much for your parents to say. As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. If there’s anything bothering you in the future, just tell us. Your parents will always support you.”

An Wuyang listened carefully, his eyes getting teary.

At this moment, it wasn’t just simple emotion; there were many other complex feelings in his heart.

“Okay, I understand, Mom.”

After talking for a while, An Wuyang said, “Mom, relatives from Yun Chuan’s side have come to see Dun Dun. I won’t tell you more for now; we’ll talk when we have time.”

Ding Wei said, “Okay, now that your status is different from before, in social interactions…”

Before she could finish the phrase “you need to be diplomatic,” she swallowed it down. “Well, that’s it.”

An Wuyang was puzzled, smiled, and hung up.

Coming to see Dun Dun was Huo Yun’s aunt, Huo Ling, the one who had been very concerned about Huo Yun’s lifelong matters before.

From her sister-in-law, she learned that her nephew not only got married but also had a baby, which shocked her immensely.

In fact, Huo Ling was very curious. Who was capable enough to win over Huo Yun?

Today, when she came over and saw the young, handsome, and gentle-looking boy, still so childish when he smiled…

“…” Her first thought was the same as her brother and sister-in-law’s initial impression: it turned out her nephew liked age differences.

Huo Ling secretly inquired and found out that there was a twelve-year age gap, exactly one round.

“Auntie.” The young boy called out warmly after Huo Yun.

“Ah…” Huo Ling’s heart melted, and in an instant, she fell in love with this boy and the adorable nephew.

But it was truly surprising.

She turned around and said to her sister-in-law, “Yun Chuan’s chosen daughter-in-law is too young. He looks quite inexperienced, like a high school student.”

Zhang Ruoqi replied to her, “Yeah, Yang Yang just graduated from senior high school not long ago. When Dun Dun grows up a bit, he’ll go back to school.”

Huo Ling had nothing to say: “…”

In the blink of an eye, it was Saturday.

In these days, An Wuyang met with two or three close relatives from the Huo family. Not good at interpersonal relationships, he constantly reminded himself to maintain a smile and be attentive to manners.

Achieving these two points was considered a pass.

Huo Yun Chuan, on the other hand, appeared annoyed. After two more relatives arrived, he left a message at home, refusing to meet any more relatives.

On Saturday morning, Zhang Ruoqi cautiously informed her son, “Yang Yang’s parents are here.”

Huo Yun Chuan’s face looked unpleasant, but he still maintained a gentlemanly demeanor, nodding, “Let them in.”

An Cheng, Ding Wei, and the younger brother An Wuji entered the luxurious mansion located on the mountainside, eyes wide with amazement.

An Wuji opened his mouth wide, looking bewildered. “Mom, is this my brother’s new home?”

It was too big; it looked as luxurious as those portrayed on television.

Ding Wei nodded in surprise, “Yes.” She didn’t expect the family of the CEO to live so well.

“No wonder it’s a wealthy family…” An Cheng sighed, equally captivated, just like his younger brother.

An Wuji tensed his small face sensitively, “Is he still my brother?”

An Cheng patted his son’s head, “Of course, he’s still your brother.”

Then they were escorted into the house by the maid, passing through the spacious hall and sitting in a comfortable small courtyard.

According to their preferences, the maid served beverages, “Please have some tea first, our lady will be down shortly.”

An Cheng and Ding Wei busily replied, “Okay.”

The things before them caused a slight impact…

Afterwards, Zhang Ruoqi appeared and exchanged pleasantries with them for a moment before leading them to Huo Yun Chuan’s bedroom to meet their son and grandson.

The entire atmosphere was notably formal, making An Cheng and his wife feel suffocated by the rules of the wealthy.

An Wuyang was very happy to see his younger brother, “Little brother!”

He greeted his long-lost brother with a beaming smile, extending his hands for a hug.

An Wuji, upon seeing his familiar brother, felt a surge of nostalgia, “Brother!” However, he walked over calmly and was hugged with composure.

“Yeah,” An Wuyang held his younger brother’s hand and introduced him to the man standing by the bed, recalling that they seemed to have met before, “This one is also called brother. Do you remember him?”

An Wuji had an excellent memory, nodded slightly, “Big brother.”

Huo Yun Chuan looked down at his brother-in-law from a high vantage point, “Little uncle.”

An Wuji blushed at the serious expression, turned to look at his nephew beside his brother, “Is he my nephew?”

An Wuyang confirmed, “Yes.”

Both sets of parents stood by, watching the younger generation chat, their faces displaying a contented smile.

Ding Wei and An Cheng also felt relieved, grateful they had canceled their younger son’s participation in the math competition. Otherwise, today’s schedule might have been awkward.

During the conversation with their parents, An Wuyang suggested that they stay for lunch at the Huo family.

Ding Wei thought for a moment and agreed, “Alright, it’s rare to make a trip, and we’d like to spend more time with you. We’re not in a hurry to go back.”

An Wuyang nodded along.

At noon, he was escorted downstairs by Huo Yunchuan, and they all had lunch together.

Dun Dun was also present, with Aunt Zhang by his side.

The well-dressed young maids took turns serving dishes, and An Cheng and his wife observed the exquisite scene.

Their usually serious son-in-law was particularly considerate towards their second son.

What surprised them the most wasn’t Huo Yunchuan’s affection, but rather the transformation of their usually reserved second son at the Huo family, who seemed lively and at ease, completely unlike someone who married into a wealthy family.

Ding Wei had to reconsider the true nature of their second son’s personality; perhaps she had been missing something all along…

“Mom, have some more, don’t be shy,” An Wuyang noticed his mother was absent-minded and quickly spoke up with a smile, while also serving some food to his younger brother next to him, “Here, later when you go back, I’ll ask Aunt Zhang to pack some for you.”

After all, there was plenty at home, and An Wuyang didn’t hesitate to share what he couldn’t finish with his brother.

An Wuji nodded, “Thanks, bro.”

The earnest way he ate was quite endearing.

Old Master Huo liked children and couldn’t help but talk about An Jia’s youngest son for a while.

Ding Wei was good at socializing. She took the opportunity to introduce her son, highlighting his excellent academic performance and awards, alluding to them modestly.

The Huo family naturally praised An Wuji when they heard about him.

Seeing this, An Cheng also chimed in, mentioning their eldest daughter studying abroad, “Wuji also has an elder sister, she’s currently studying for her Master’s at X University in the US. She’ll definitely come back for her nephew’s full moon celebration.”

As their parents praised their siblings, An Wuyang felt like he was back at the dining table from his childhood.

Fortunately, now their parents didn’t just talk about their siblings’ accomplishments without criticizing him for not being ambitious.

He was quite satisfied with the current situation, so he smiled along.

Huo Yunchuan also smiled, but it was a faint, wry smile.

He picked up a piece of food that the little angel loved, and skillfully brought it to his lips—this wasn’t something he would do with guests around, but he couldn’t resist spoiling the little angel.

An Wuyang was most used to being fed by Huo Yunchuan while sitting on his lap, so when he saw the food approaching his mouth, his first reaction was to eagerly open it.

As he savored the bite, he was happy, but the reactions of those around him varied.

The Huo family was accustomed to this, understanding that their son’s love for his wife surpassed everything, even their newborn son Dun Dun.

An’s parents, on the other hand, were suddenly stunned. The conversation about their children stopped abruptly and was never brought up again.

After the meal, An Wuyang accompanied his parents in the living room for a while, sipping his milk. Soon, he began to feel drowsy, unable to even stand up by himself and was directly carried upstairs by someone.

An’s parents were too shocked to say anything.

They had just learned from the conversation that Huo Yunchuan had left the company suddenly in the second half of last year, just to take care of their second son at home.

This care had lasted for a whole year, and it would continue in the future.

Compared to Huo Yunchuan’s meticulous care for An Wuyang, as parents of An Wuyang, An Cheng and his wife finally admitted that they had never cared for their second son so attentively.

This feeling was very complicated.

The child they had ignored and even neglected in the past was now the darling of a wealthy family.

What’s more uncomfortable was that they couldn’t figure out how their previously simple and easy-to-understand child viewed them now as parents.

It was a bit embarrassing not knowing where to start.

Upstairs.

Huo Yunchuan carried the little angel back to the room.

Aunt Zhang was in the bedroom looking after Dun Dun. Seeing them come in, she immediately got up to help tidy the bed, “Is An Wuyang asleep?”

“Not yet.” The teenager nestled in Huo Yunchuan’s arms squinted and smiled, “I’m just really sleepy and wanted to come up to be lazy.”

Aunt Zhang was amused by his mischief, “This child…” But then she stopped laughing, remembering the parents’ behavior. Even Aunt Zhang, an onlooker, could sense that they weren’t close to An Wuyang.

“Aunt Zhang…” An Wuyang reminded before going to sleep, “Remember to pack some snacks for my brother.”

Huo Yunchuan was by his side and leaned down to kiss the little angel, “Don’t worry so much, mom will plan for it.”

After a while, An’s parents left. Ding Wei wouldn’t let them go back empty-handed.

After Aunt Zhang left, Huo’s father, who wasn’t sleepy for the moment, held a book in his right hand while stroking the little angel’s hair with his left.

“What’s so interesting about the book? Is it more interesting than looking at me?” An Wuyang took the book from Huo Yunchuan’s hand and placed it on the bedside table. “Come here for a moment, I’ll tell you a secret.”

Huo Yunchuan’s mind was stirred as he approached.

The phrase “Is it more interesting than looking at me?” was a bit flirtatious, instantly igniting the atmosphere and raising the old man’s body temperature. “What’s the secret?” he asked, loosening his collar and leaning closer to his wife.

The teenager shyly smiled, hooked his fingers around Huo’s father’s neck, and kissed him on the lips. “Happy now?”

Huo, the CEO, licked his lips, swallowed hard, and hoarsely said, “It smells like milk sauciness…”

“Go away!” An Wuyang raised his fist and punched Huo on his broad, solid chest.

However, Huo felt nothing and watched An Wuyang hitting him with indifference.

“Don’t hurt your hand.”

“Ah!” An Wuyang huffed in frustration, his face turning red like a bun.

While playfully arguing with her husband, their son watched them with big, round eyes.

Huo Yunchuan noticed and raised an eyebrow at his son.

Then he pinched An Wuyang’s chin and kissed him. “Do you understand?”

An Wuyang looked puzzled. “Who are you talking to?” When he turned around and saw his son’s alert eyes, he chuckled. “Huo Yunchuan, you’re so childish.”

The teenage boy, noticing his son’s awakening, showed his fatherly love and turned to play with Dun Dun.

“Dun Dun, Daddy likes you so much,” An Wuyang said. “Do you love Daddy?”

Dun Dun played with his saliva, showing no response at all.

“Dun Dun…”

Nevertheless, the teenager continued to chat endlessly with his son, overflowing with a basket of nonsense.

Huo, the CEO, lost interest in reading and sat there attentively listening to the sacred conversation between the two angels for the whole afternoon.

Author’s note:

Huo CEO, how do you feel listening to the conversation between the little angels?

Huo CEO: It cleanses the soul…
