He Jing smiled slightly and said in a gentle tone, “Come here.”
Ye Ting ran over and nestled in his arms, hugging his waist tightly.
He Jing touched his face, “Didn’t we say you’d come back in the evening? I had planned to pick you up at the airport after work.”
Ye Ting rubbed against his chest and said playfully, “I lied on purpose. I wanted to surprise you.”
He Jing chuckled, kissing the top of his head, “Well, it’s indeed a pleasant surprise.”
Ye Ting also laughed, lifted his face in his arms, and shyly said, “Jing-ge, these flowers… Did you keep them all?”
He Jing was momentarily puzzled, realizing why the youth had stood at the door without moving earlier—it was to look at the flowers in the office.
He chuckled and nodded, “They look good as dried flowers.” After a pause, he added, “There were too many rose petals, so I gave some away.”
The petals on the French windows were later pasted by a designer, serving as a decoration.
He gave the rest of the dried flower petals to business partners, and everyone, not knowing the details, happily accepted them.
Only Zhou Nianyuan expressed his feelings of speechlessness, firmly refusing to accept this dose of dog food.
Ye Ting raised his head and kissed the man’s chin, “It’s okay, I’ll keep sending you flowers.”
He Jing’s lips curled slightly, he cradled Ye Ting’s face, and said, “Then you must remember.”
The man’s eyes were deep and remote, drawing him unknowingly into their depths.
Ye Ting absentmindedly agreed, and then he was kissed.
After a long separation, naturally, there was a warm reunion.
But it was limited to kisses.
Ye Ting did want to do something else; the office was quite stimulating. He had seen some short videos, and the office seemed to be a good place.
Unfortunately, the man was too much of a veteran. Even when the kiss became passionate, and he had ended up sitting on the man’s lap, the man abruptly stopped.
Ye Ting bit his face displeased, “Husband, don’t you want to continue?”
He Jing kissed his tempting lips, whispering, “There’s something to attend to today.”
Ye Ting exclaimed in surprise, curious, “What’s going on?”
However, He Jing didn’t answer him. Instead, he sent a message to Zhou Nianyuan on the computer, then took Ye Ting’s hand, saying, “Let’s go.”
Ye Ting widened his eyes, “Are you leaving work early?”
He Jing, holding Ye Ting’s hand, tidied up the files on the desk with the other hand and nodded, “Yes.”
Now Ye Ting was even more surprised.
He had known the man for many years and was aware of the man’s dedication to work. He had never heard of the man leaving work early before.
Not knowing what had caused the man to make an exception, he silently speculated and followed the man outside.
Even more surprised were the assistant and secretary outside.
When He Jing walked out, hand in hand with Ye Ting, and announced that he was leaving, everyone had a bewildered expression.
The trio of close assistants, like Yang Xuanyang, had been with He Jing for over a decade and knew that he was a workaholic. Instances of leaving early in recent years were few and far between.
Under the gaze of others, Ye Ting looked down at the hand he was holding with the man and felt a myriad of emotions.
Just a little over three months ago, he had come here for an internship. His cousin had asked the man to take care of him, but the man had refused. In a huff, he had run away. Now, he and the man were a couple, and the man had even proposed to him, wanting to spend his life with him.
He felt lucky, as if fate had favored him, allowing him to win the man’s heart.
Amidst the astonishment of onlookers, the elevator doors opened.
Zhou Nianyuan stepped out and handed a paper bag to He Jing.
He Jing took it, held the elevator, and said to Ye Ting, “Let’s go.”
Ye Ting only had time to call out, “Cousin.”
Zhou Nianyuan waved at him, “Alright, go with Ah-Jing quickly.”
The elevator doors closed, and Ye Ting curiously stared at the paper bag in He Jing’s hand, “Is it work-related documents?”
He Jing smiled and glanced at him, “No.”
But he didn’t explain what it was.
Ye Ting pouted, hugged his arm, and coquettishly asked, “Then where are we going?”
It was only three in the afternoon now. Although it was late August, the sun outside was still quite scorching.
He Jing kissed his forehead, “To take care of an important matter in life.”
Ye Ting’s eyes spun around, hesitating slightly, “Is it what I think it is?”
He Jing chuckled, “Yes.”
Ye Ting, with a mix of surprise, joy, and disbelief, tiptoed and kissed the man fiercely, “Jing-ge, I… I’m a bit excited…”
In fact, he was not just a bit excited; he was extremely thrilled.
He Jing found it amusing as their fingers interlocked, “Just stick close to me.”
The warmth from the man’s hand transmitted to his heart, and Ye Ting couldn’t help but smile foolishly.
He thought that the man was taking him to get married.
This realization made him insanely happy.
Suppressing the joy bubbling up in his heart, he refrained from screaming.
Indeed, He Jing intended to take him to get married. The item Zhou Nianyuan had given him was the household registration book brought from the Ye family.
He originally planned to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau tomorrow, but since the young man came back early, he thought it would be good to go ahead and handle it.
His parents had calculated the dates and said that these days were all auspicious.
He Jing didn’t pay much attention to such details, but he agreed that good days were generally a good sign.
The two hurried to the Civil Affairs Bureau, and when Ye Ting got out of the car, he still seemed dazed.
He Jing firmly held his hand.
An hour later, the two came out of the Civil Affairs Bureau with a red marriage certificate in hand.
Ye Ting still couldn’t conceal his excitement, flipping through the certificate repeatedly.
He Jing chuckled, pinched his tender face, and said, “Uncle and aunt are still waiting for us to go back. Be good, let’s go home first.”
The joy in the young man’s eyes was impossible to hide. He held the man’s sleeve, waving the red certificate in one hand, and joyfully said, “Husband, look, we’re really married!”
The adorable expression softened the man’s heart.
When the two returned to Ye’s house, He Jing had informed them in advance about the marriage. Ye Ting’s parents and some close relatives were all present.
Because they were now married, they had to change their address. He Jing greeted Ye Ting’s parents as mom and dad when they met.
Ye Ting’s parents happily responded, and others congratulated them.
Only Ye Ting stood behind He Jing, blushing and feeling shy.
This embarrassed look made everyone burst into laughter.
He Jing discussed the wedding date with Ye’s family.
As Ye Ting was starting school in early September, after the discussion, they decided to set the wedding date on October 1st.
Ye Ting was a bit worried and whispered in He Jing’s ear, “Jing-ge, what if I get tan during military training? What if I can’t be a handsome groom?”
He Jing looked at his fair face and smiled, “You won’t.”
In the past two months, the young man had been shooting outdoor scenes every day under the scorching sun, and he remained fair and tender. It seemed unlikely that military training would darken his skin.
Ye Ting held his face, “I need to continue using face masks.”
He wanted to be a refined little boy… no, a refined groom.
At nine in the evening, He Jing left Ye’s house, and Ye Ting hung onto him, unwilling to be separated.
They hadn’t seen each other for a week, and today, Ye Ting had rushed back, hoping to spend some quality time alone with He Jing, but the delay caused by the marriage certificate issuance ruined the plan.
Reluctant to part with He Jing, Ye Ting hugged his neck and coquettishly said, “Jing-ge, can I go home with you today?” Afraid that He Jing would think he only wanted to do naughty things, he even solemnly promised, “I won’t disturb you. I just want to chat with you under the blanket, pure and innocent.”
He Jing pondered, “…”
He also didn’t want to be away from the young man, but just having obtained their marriage certificate today, Ye Ting must have some plans, and he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to resist. Thus, they had to part ways.
Thinking about the young man’s soft waist, slender legs, and lips that were always tempting him, he felt a heat in his abdomen.
He cradled the young man’s face and kissed him gently, “Be good, I’ll come pick you up after work tomorrow.”
Ye Ting didn’t want to agree. He wrapped his hands and feet around He Jing, “No, I just want to go home with you tonight.”
Apart from sleeping together on set and in outdoor locations, he hadn’t truly spent the night in He Jing’s villa.
He Jing captured his lifted lips, pressing them together, and whispered, “Be obedient, rest well today.”
Ye Ting still felt wronged, biting his lips, “You’re not being gentle with me anymore.”
He Jing chuckled in exasperation, “I am gentle.”
The young man didn’t want to argue with him, “Hmph, not gentle.”
He Jing rubbed his earlobes and suddenly lifted him horizontally, heading towards the car.
Ye Ting exclaimed, unsure of what the man was up to.
He Jing placed him in the back seat and then got in, pressing the young man beneath him, “Wife, you’ve been naughty, I need to punish you.”
The man’s voice was husky and low, like the most enchanting aphrodisiac.
Ye Ting, through the dim yardlights, stared at the man’s handsome face, feeling a sense of excitement.
The man leaned down, capturing his lips with a deep, licking kiss.
Ye Ting also became excited, wrapping his arms tightly around the man’s neck and dancing with him.
Naturally, He Jing couldn’t actually do anything to the young man. It was just a tease. After ending the deep kiss, he leaned against the young man’s forehead and coaxed gently, “Be good, sleep early. I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow morning. Will you accompany me to work?”
In the end, the young man was comforted and escorted back to the door by He Jing.
Standing under the light, the young man waved at him. In the dappled light and shadow, the young man’s face was charming and beautiful, with deep affection in his eyes and love for him.
He Jing’s heart was filled to the brim, and he smiled as he turned away.
He drove back to the villa; it was already eleven o’clock at night. After taking a shower, he prepared to sleep.
Before going to bed, he casually looked through the second-floor window and noticed that the villa across the street had its lights on.
He searched his memory; the property management had mentioned a few days ago that the villa had been completed.
But shouldn’t the house be aired out for some time before moving in? Why did the owner across the street move in so quickly?
He only pondered for a moment before dismissing the thought.
He didn’t pay much attention to external matters.
However, as he withdrew his gaze, he suddenly saw a familiar figure on the balcony of the villa across the street.
