Gu Jingchen was so nervous that his hands trembled. Originally, he just wanted to seek Xu Zhou’s forgiveness and gradually win him over. He didn’t expect Xu Zhou to engage in such an exciting act as soon as he returned.

He didn’t immediately undress Xu Zhou but hesitated, saying, “Zhou Zhou, is this you forgiving me?”

Xu Zhou didn’t answer, looking at him askance. “Just say whether you’re willing or not.”

Then he ran out.

A few minutes later, he came back, holding a large bunch of purple flowers.

Actually, Gu Jingchen’s taste was good. The design was sleek, engraved with a small boat, and the details were exquisite.

A small boat, that’s “舟” (Zhōu), his name.

He didn’t stop him, silently accepting each gift and placing them in the safe in the bedroom.

A’Mo was one of his close friends. Apart from Xu Zhou and Zhou Nianyuan, he was considered the third smartest person in their group. It was he who suggested that Gu Jingchen use gifts and flowers to win over Xu Zhou.

A week later, the grades were out, and Gu Jingchen ranked first in the year.

He turned off the campus network, happily running to the study to find Xu Zhou.

At this point, Xu Zhou had already started the new semester. His mentor assigned him a task, requiring him to collaborate with one of the world’s top 100 companies. So, these days, he either stayed outside or locked himself in the study, working on a business plan.

As for Gu Jingchen, he hadn’t returned to the Gu family’s house since coming to California. He lingered at Xu Zhou’s place.

Xu Zhou pretended not to notice and didn’t ask him to leave.

In general, Gu Jingchen wouldn’t disturb Xu Zhou. When Xu Zhou was busy, he would engage himself in crafting, enjoying the activity. This time, when the grades were out and met Xu Zhou’s expectations, he couldn’t help but share the news with Xu Zhou.

Even though he had been sending gifts continuously for a week, why would Xu Zhou suddenly refuse them?

Was it because Xu Zhou didn’t want him to pursue him anymore?

Xu Zhou glanced at him and said, “Were you sending me gifts because you were afraid you wouldn’t rank first, so you wanted to please me first? Now that you’ve achieved good results, you don’t need to continue sending gifts.”

So, Zhou Zhou accepting his gifts before didn’t mean he had accepted him?

This thought slightly disappointed him.

Seeing his downcast face, Xu Zhou suddenly changed the subject, “The Chinese New Year is coming soon. Aren’t you going back to your country?”

As the school had already started, Xu Zhou couldn’t go back. Last year, his parents also celebrated the New Year with him here.

Gu Jingchen blinked, “I… I want to spend the New Year with you…”

Xu Zhou silently looked at him for a moment and said, “Aren’t you studying company management with Nianyuan? If you don’t work hard, you won’t be able to catch up with me in the future.”

Gu Jingchen: “…”

Indeed, Zhou Zhou was so outstanding. If he stayed in the same place, Zhou Zhou would undoubtedly surpass him.

So he pondered for a while and finally hesitantly said, “Then, after the New Year, I’ll immediately go back to my country. Is that okay?”

He chuckled, grabbed Gu Jingchen’s collar, and bit down hard.

Ah, I’m finally reaching 3000 words.

My dear readers, after giving it some thought, I still can’t provide a stable update schedule. I want to adjust my daily routine, and sleep earlier, as writing every day is quite stressful.

Maybe you can check back in July; I’m planning to conclude the story in June. By then, it will surely be finished, but within June, I can’t guarantee daily updates or a stable schedule. If the pressure is high, I might not update, and there might be consecutive days without updates… I’m afraid readers will be anxious.

Mainly, for now, I want to focus on taking care of my health and not force myself to write late into the night. I want to adjust my daily routine. So, I can only apologize to my dear readers.
