MBBBA Chapter 32

The doctor advised Wei Ning, “The most severe issue with an omega’s rut is dehydration. Wei Zong, remember to ensure your husband stays hydrated. I’ve prescribed some glucose solutions for you; if it gets serious, you can hook him up to an IV.”

Wei Ning nodded.

The doctor continued, “As for your husband… His health has never been great. He insisted I prescribe soothing medication, and I’ve given it to you. But you must monitor him closely and not let him take too much.” After a brief pause, the doctor couldn’t help but offer some advice. “Wei Zong, to get through the rut smoothly, the key lies with you. The natural bond between an alpha and an omega is more effective than any medication.”

Before Wei Ning could respond, Zhu Yu interrupted, “I’ve already taken the medication and feel much better.”

Wei Ning, recalling what the doctor had mentioned earlier about the fourteen inhibitors Zhu Yu had taken when they hadn’t switched back, remained silent for a moment before saying, “I’ll make sure he doesn’t overdo it with the medication.”

Zhu Yu clenched his fists in frustration.

If only they hadn’t switched back at the crucial moment! He could endure being the top if he had to!

Zhu Yu inwardly pleaded with whatever force had allowed them to switch bodies, “If you give me another chance, I’ll drop my pants and get to it without hesitation!”

However, that force didn’t seem to hear Zhu Yu’s plea. By the time they returned home, he and Wei Ning had yet to switch back.

The house was brightly lit, and Wei Mu, Zhang Jie, and Hong Yi were all waiting in the living room.

“How is everything?” Wei Mu asked the moment she saw Wei Ning. “Is Xiao Zhu okay?”

Wei Ning replied, “He’s entered his rut. Mom, I’m planning to stay home this week to take care of Zhu Yu.”

Wei Mu nodded, “That’s how it should be.” Then she prayed, “Thank goodness, Xiao Zhu is finally getting better. Xiao Zhang, be mindful of the menu this week. Ah Hong, stop bringing flowers and plants into the house. Omega is sensitive during their rut; we don’t want Xiao Zhu to have an allergic reaction.”

Zhang Jie and Hong Yi both agreed.

Wei Mu then turned to Zhu Yu and said, “Just focus on getting through this week. I’ll take care of Simon.”

Zhu Yu protested, “Simon only listens to me.” Even when they had switched bodies, Simon only stuck to him. He couldn’t help but treasure a dog that could see his unique soul, no matter how silly.

Wei Mu called the tail-wagging husky at the door inside. “Simon, play with Grandma for a few days and let your two dads enjoy some alone time, okay?”

Zhu Yu eagerly awaited Simon’s refusal, but the silly dog only wagged its tail even harder.

Zhu Yu: “…” Forget it, this dog is up for grabs; whoever wants him can have him.

Wei Ning took Zhu Yu’s hand. “Mom, we’re going upstairs.”

Zhu Yu glared at Wei Ning’s hand but, out of respect for Wei Mu, held his peace until they got upstairs. Once the bedroom door was closed, he immediately shook off Wei Ning’s hand.

Wei Ning didn’t take offense. Instead, he assessed the room’s setup, placed the glucose bottles down, and went downstairs to bring up a water dispenser and an IV stand.

Zhu Yu said, “I can manage on my own; you can go now.”

Wei Ning frowned. “You want me to leave my spouse, an omega in heat, alone?” Zhu Yu’s resistance made him want to ask directly about the fourteen inhibitors, but he hesitated. He remembered reading that taking inhibitors was extremely painful for an omega. The pain from forcibly suppressing their instincts was second only to that of a miscarriage or childbirth. Taking multiple inhibitors consecutively was highly inadvisable and could cause irreversible harm. What could have driven an omega who feared even temporary marks to endure such agony?

Wei Ning realized that this might be a delicate subject, and he couldn’t just stomp on it carelessly. Zhu Yu might appear carefree… but perhaps it was just an appearance. Omegas were delicate and needed careful attention. This was something every alpha had to learn.

With a sigh, Wei Ning softened his tone, “I’ll stay with you this week.” Having experienced being in an omega’s body, he now better understood their fragility. From an omega’s perspective, alphas were towering, powerful figures, and this power disparity could make an omega feel uneasy.

Not to mention the pheromonal pressure an alpha could exert on an omega.

Zhu Yu replied, “I don’t need you.” He turned his back to Wei Ning and lay down on the bed, facing away from him. “I just need some sleep.” Having taken the medicine, he didn’t feel any discomfort. He hadn’t gone into heat for eight years, so why would he start now? Earlier, it was just Wei Ning getting overly excited in his body. Now that they had switched back, everything would return to normal.

Wei Ning sat at the edge of the bed, patiently explaining, “I won’t force you to do anything. I just want to help you get through this week safely. Didn’t you always say that inhibitors are harmful and refused to take them? The same goes for medication; you shouldn’t take too much.”

Zhu Yu remained silent for a long time.

Wei Ning thought he had fallen asleep and reached out to check Zhu Yu’s forehead, comparing the temperature to his own.

“No need.” Zhu Yu suddenly opened his eyes, his face clearly showing rejection and distance. “Don’t you hate other people’s bodies? I don’t need your pity, and I don’t need you to force yourself.”

Wei Ning had never seen such a cold expression on Zhu Yu’s face. “But I also promised to stay with you during your rut.”

“I. Don’t. Need. You.” Zhu Yu enunciated each word firmly, then closed his eyes tightly, refusing to speak further.

As Wei Ning looked at Zhu Yu’s unfamiliar expression, he suddenly realized that the reason Zhu Yu had taken fourteen inhibitors might be related to him.

The next morning, at precisely 7:30, Wei Ning woke up on time. Zhu Yu was still asleep, but his brows were furrowed as if he were uncomfortable. Wei Ning touched Zhu Yu’s forehead and, comparing it to his own body temperature, realized that Zhu Yu was starting to heat up.

Wei Ning got out of bed, poured a cup of warm water, and placed it by the bed along with a soothing pill. Then he quietly left the room to instruct Zhang Jie to prepare some porridge. “Keep it warm.” Wei Ning said. “He’s still asleep, and I don’t know if he’ll have the strength to eat breakfast when he wakes up.”

Zhang Jie nodded, “I understand. The kitchen will keep hot porridge and snacks ready 24 hours a day this week.”

After giving instructions to the kitchen, Wei Ning called his secretary to cancel all his appointments for the week and reschedule important meetings as video conferences.

The secretary, remembering how the lady of the house had brought Wei Ning’s pheromones to the office and now hearing that Wei Ning was canceling all his appointments, figured that the lady must have entered her rut. He immediately responded, “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything.”

Wei Ning added, “There’s one more thing—”

The secretary noticed a certain gravity in Wei Ning’s tone.

“—look into Zhu Yu’s purchase history of inhibitors from eight years ago.” After a brief pause, he continued, “And also find out about any significant hardships Zhu Yu might have experienced.”

“Understood.” the secretary replied.

Wei Ning knew that investigating like this was an invasion of Zhu Yu’s privacy, but he had to uncover the truth behind the inhibitor incident. It would be better for him to investigate on his own than to ask Zhu Yu directly. Once he understood the situation, he could better support his partner.

Just as Wei Ning finished making arrangements, he heard a shout from behind.

“Old Wei!” Zhu Yu stood at the top of the stairs, visibly upset. “Where did you put my medication?”

Wei Ning turned and walked up the stairs toward him. “I left you one pill.”

“That’s not enough.” Zhu Yu said, hastily approaching to search him.

Wei Ning stepped aside, catching a strong scent of peach blossom. “The doctor said you shouldn’t take too much.” He felt a tingling sensation in his chest as if the peach blossom scent had stung his heart, making his body feel slightly numb, with primal instincts beginning to stir.

Zhu Yu, frowning, said, “You only left me one pill.” He held out his hand. “Just give me one more.”

Wei Ning glanced at Zhu Yu’s hand. His skin was thin, with blue veins faintly visible, giving off a hint of paleness that tugged at Wei Ning’s heartstrings… and caused a reaction.

Zhu Yu hadn’t noticed the alpha’s change, but he wasn’t about to give up. “If you don’t give it to me, I’ll post about you online.” he threatened, holding up his thumb and index finger. “People are definitely curious about Wei Zong’s size.”

Wei Ning: “…” The omega’s reckless discussion of sensitive topics finally ignited a fire within the alpha. Wei Ning stepped forward, his voice deep, “Go ahead and post, but remember, only I will know the full depth of Wei Zong’s wife.”

Taken aback by Wei Ning’s sudden flirtation, Zhu Yu stomped his foot in anger. “You scoundrel in a suit!” He smelled the lingering scent of vetiver, warm, sensual, and inviting. Having been in an alpha’s body, he knew exactly what this meant.

“If you won’t give it to me, then forget it.” Zhu Yu began to retreat, “I have something to do, so I’ll be leaving now.”

“We’ll talk in the bedroom.” Wei Ning said, stepping forward to scoop Zhu Yu up like a child.

Shocked, Zhu Yu started pounding on Wei Ning’s shoulders. “Put me down!” Despite their earlier kiss, they had never been this close.

Their heated bodies pressed together, their pheromones intertwining. The intimacy felt like a pair of swans entwining their necks, filling the air with a heart-stirring romance.

Wei Ning carried Zhu Yu back to the bedroom and placed him on the bed. Zhu Yu immediately curled up, hugging his knees, and warily watched Wei Ning, assuming a defensive posture.

Wei Ning said, “You know that won’t do any good.”

Zhu Yu thought: What goes around comes around. Just a moment ago, Wei Ning was the one panicking in bed, and now it was his turn.

Trying to appear considerate, Zhu Yu said, “What if you end up vomiting? Don’t push yourself.”

Wei Ning replied, “I’ve decided to overcome this issue.”

Zhu Yu retorted, “You could, but there’s no need to. What are you planning to do—vomit while you…?”

Without a word, Wei Ning pulled out a box of DVDs from under the bed. The covers were plastered with titles like “The Sexiest O” and “The Tautest Young Butt” filled with lurid phrases. “Old tapes, I’ll watch them until I get used to it.” he said as he hooked up an external drive to the computer and prepared to play his “study material.”

Zhu Yu was shocked. “This is the real you, Old Wei?”

Wei Ning waved him over, “Come and watch with me. If you watch enough, you won’t be scared anymore.”

“Scared? No way.” Zhu Yu instinctively retorted, though he noticed Wei Ning’s face had gone from flushed with excitement to pale as a sheet as the video began. He looked like he might throw up at any moment.

Wei Ning really did have this bizarre condition; seeing other people’s bodies made him nauseous.

It had taken Zhu Yu eight years to realize that Wei Ning wasn’t just making excuses on their wedding night. Whenever this topic had come up, Wei Mu would urge him to be understanding of Wei Ning, but Zhu Yu had always thought Wei Ning was being overly harsh, using a poor excuse to reject him. Perhaps he didn’t know Wei Ning as well as he thought, and he had misunderstood him all along.

Zhu Yu stood there, stunned.

Wei Ning managed to endure for a few minutes before switching to another DVD titled “Little O Stumbles into Group A Gathering.” The screen now filled with even more skin, all flashing in bright white. Not only had his face turned ghostly pale, but he was also swaying on the spot, drenched in cold sweat.

“Stop watching.” Zhu Yu rushed over to turn off the “study material.” Watching those beta actors awkwardly pretend to be omegas in heat had practically scared his own rut away.

Wei Ning leaned back against the chair, trying to steady himself. “I’m fine.” He was determined to find something less intense to watch next.

“Don’t.” Zhu Yu’s voice softened. “If it doesn’t work, it’s okay.”

Wei Ning: “…” He had really wanted to prove himself these past few days!

Zhu Yu, feeling the heat in his body subside a bit, no longer needed the soothing medication. He decided to take a shower—getting all sweaty first thing in the morning was uncomfortable. He knew that Wei Ning was decent enough not to spy on him, so he didn’t bother kicking him out of the room. Grabbing his pajamas, Zhu Yu headed into the bathroom.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Wei Ning looked at the stack of old DVDs. After mentally preparing himself, he finally mustered the courage to reach out and pick another one. But just as he placed the disc into the drive, he heard a loud “thud” from the bathroom, like someone had fallen. He immediately stood up and headed for the bathroom, ignoring Zhu Yu’s shout of “I’m fine, don’t come in!” as he pushed the door open.

Through the billowing steam, Wei Ning’s eyes locked onto Zhu Yu. He had slipped and fallen, and the misty air did nothing to obscure his most private areas, instead adding a touch of ethereal beauty to his figure.

The omega was in heat again, and his pheromones were strong, but he was still clear-headed, worried about the alpha’s aversion to seeing other people’s bodies.

“If you dare throw up, you’re dead!” Zhu Yu threatened, his voice lacking conviction. “I’ll divorce you, got it?”

Divorce? Leave him? The primal instincts of the alpha surged to the forefront of Wei Ning’s mind, his eyes turning red with intensity.

Seeing Wei Ning storming toward him, Zhu Yu trembled and shrank back, his smooth skin breaking out in goosebumps.

Wei Ning bent down, scooping Zhu Yu up and placing him into the bathtub, all the while keeping his eyes locked on Zhu Yu’s body. The alpha who claimed to have a revulsion for human bodies showed no signs of discomfort. His 18 centimeters stood proudly at attention, and his pheromones were so overwhelming that they almost knocked Zhu Yu out.

Zhu Yu: “…”

He had been tricked!
