MLGHSP Chapter 33

Qin Yuanxi chose to summon Yan Shaoning early in the morning to discuss something privately, clearly something he didn’t want Zhao Tuo to know about. So, he picked the time when Zhao Tuo was busy with his morning military drills.

General Zhao was indeed a true general. Qin Yuanxi wasn’t aware of Prince Lu’s habits, but Zhao Tuo’s routine was admirable. He would wake up before dawn to lead the troops in training at the grand martial arts field in the northwest corner of the palace. The Imperial Guards usually trained there, and in recent days, Zhao Tuo had been going there every morning, training with them. He would only return when it was time for Qin Yuanxi’s morning meal.

Qin Yuanxi intended to use this time to have a private conversation with Yan Shaoning, to get some insight into the situation.

Seeing Zhao Tuo made him happy. To Qin Yuanxi, Zhao Tuo was his beloved, while Prince Lu was nothing but a lunatic who wanted him dead at any moment. Qin Yuanxi didn’t have Stockholm syndrome, although he felt uneasy every time he saw Prince Lu’s face. But no matter what, he couldn’t let go of the fact that Lu Bohuan still wanted him dead!

However, Zhao Tuo was different. He treated him well, with care and thoughtfulness. A perfect boyfriend in every way. Qin Yuanxi couldn’t help but feel delighted. Still, there were things he needed to understand, such as why Zhao Tuo had suddenly reappeared after being absent for a long time. Moreover, how did Zhao Tuo instantly know that he was pregnant? Who informed him? Or was Zhao Tuo’s appearance this time orchestrated by Lu Bohuan?

If so, what were Lu Bohuan’s intentions? If Lu Bohuan could make Zhao Tuo appear, did that mean he could also make him leave at any moment?

With so many unanswered questions, Qin Yuanxi couldn’t make sense of it all. He needed someone who knew more about the situation, and that person was Yan Shaoning.

Yan Shaoning was affiliated with Prince Lu, and his lack of surprise or evasion upon Zhao Tuo’s appearance suggested that he was in the know. Furthermore, Yan Shaoning was a physician. What was the meaning of keeping a physician around when there were no illnesses or injuries? What was the purpose of Yan Shaoning’s existence?

With all these mysteries, Qin Yuanxi could only turn to Yan Shaoning for answers.

Luckily, Lu Bohuan had retained Physician Yan, so Qin Yuanxi wasn’t entirely isolated and helpless.

“Physician Yan, please don’t be too formal. Just have a seat and relax. I’m in good health; I just wanted to have a chat with you,” Qin Yuanxi said with a smile, pouring a cup of tea for Yan Shaoning. “As you know, my situation is somewhat unique, and I can’t help but feel a bit anxious at times. Perhaps talking to a divine physician like you could help ease my mind.”

This chapter and the next one are quite short. I didn’t realize it while I was translating, and I’m currently busy with my studies, so I couldn’t tl an extra chapter. (๑•́ㅿ•̀๑)ᔆᵒʳʳᵞ
