MOFB Chapter 14

Motion Sickness

Jiang Heng took suppressants last night, and when he woke up this morning, he didn’t feel as energetic as before. Although there were more side effects when taking suppressants in advance without falling ill, he was more afraid of having an episode while climbing the mountain. That would be even more unpleasant.

On the way, He Ci instructed, “After your phone boots up, you can take a look at the chat records I sent you and learn from them.”

Jiang Heng, trying to stay alert, replied, “Oh, are you teaching your dad how to do things?”

There was a two-second pause before He Ci replied, “No.”

“Who wants to see all that random stuff? Do you look down on me?” Jiang Heng pressed his phone twice but couldn’t get it to turn on.

He had forgotten to charge his phone last night, and it had automatically shut down. Fortunately, He Ci had come to wait for him downstairs in his house early in the morning and brought a portable charger.

The class teacher of Class Three had been waiting outside the car for Jiang Heng and another student. When he finally arrived, she led him to the car on the Alpha side.

When she had mentioned it to him earlier, she had been quite surprised, but the class teacher knew about the relationship between the two, so her surprise was only brief. She also believed that Shen Huai Zhi could handle it properly.

“The car is full, and it’s mostly Alpha, including students from other classes. Stay by Shen Huai Zhi’s side, and if you feel unwell, speak up. I’ll be in the car behind.”

Jiang Heng nodded with his eyes half-closed.

The class teacher was about to say more, but when she saw his expression that seemed to say, “I’m very tired right now, don’t talk to me,” she simply closed her mouth.

She watched Jiang Heng board the car before turning and leaving.

The car was mostly full, filled with students from Classes One, Two, and Three.

A group of Alpha students sat together, and they were quite surprised to see Jiang Heng approaching.

The news of the new transfer student being an Omega had already spread throughout the school, and coupled with the videos of him playing basketball and other accomplishments from the past few days, Jiang Heng had become somewhat famous at school.

“No wonder my friend kept saying he wanted to try a double-O.”

“Which Omega friend of yours? Why didn’t you introduce him to me?”

“Do you have a Class Three Monitor who’s as handsome as him? People like Class Three Monitor because he’s so handsome.”

“Jiang Heng, why are you getting on the Alpha’s car?” The question came from an Alpha student in Class Three.

Because it was an extracurricular activity, everyone was quite relaxed.

Jiang Heng raised his eyes and smiled but didn’t answer. He felt a bit weak.

Seeing that he didn’t reply, the person didn’t continue questioning him.

Shen Huai Zhi was sitting in the second row by the back door. Jiang Heng glanced back and saw Shen Huai Zhi, who was wearing headphones and seemed not to notice him.

Jiang Heng smirked, ignoring the curious glances of others, and walked straight towards him.

Today’s event was organized by the school, and like everyone else, Shen Huai Zhi was wearing the school uniform. The only difference was that he rarely wore a jacket today, sitting as straight as he did in class, maintaining excellent posture.

“Wow, is he here to find Shen Huai Zhi?”

“Is it true? There have been rumors on the forum that these two have something going on, could it be true?”

“Then doesn’t that mean I have a chance? Once Shen Huai Zhi gets an Omega, there will be countless Omegas left heartbroken, and that’s when my chance comes!”

Everyone whispered and observed the two secretly.

Jiang Heng placed his backpack on the back of the chair and sat down without taking his phone out of the bag.

He suspected that he might get motion sickness if he stood up any longer before the car even started.

Throughout the process, Shen Huai Zhi moved his fingers slightly.

Jiang Heng didn’t speak either.

Chen Xingchi, who was sitting in front of them, vaguely felt that something was amiss with the atmosphere. This was unlike the usual Jiang Heng. He leaned half of his head out from between the two seats and handed a bottle of water to Jiang Heng. “Have you had breakfast?”

Seeing Jiang Heng looking at the water bottle with drooping eyelids, Chen Xingchi smiled and said, “I’ve opened it for you.”

Chen Xingchi was quite impressed with those who were good at playing basketball. He was a veteran basketball fan, and whether Jiang Heng was an Omega or an Alpha, his performance on the basketball court had earned his respect. As for whether the other person really needed someone to open the water bottle cap for him, it was not within his consideration.

Jiang Heng, feeling somewhat drowsy, replied, “Already ate,” and didn’t reach out to take the water.

Chen Xingchi wanted to say more, but Shen Huai Zhi, who had been silent, finally lifted his gaze to give him a glance.

Chen Xingchi immediately recoiled.

It seemed that the class monitor was not in a good mood.

Sensitive perceptions from an Alpha.

“Class monitor, I’m so tired.” Jiang Heng finally closed his eyes and spoke after Chen Xingchi turned away.

He wasn’t just tired; he didn’t have much strength left in his body. He had returned home very late last night, and when he counted the hours, he had only slept for a few hours up to now.

The side effects of suppressants are so damn annoying.

Shen Huai Zhi turned his head slightly.

Jiang Heng wasn’t wearing a school uniform today. He seemed to prefer black clothes and was wearing a black T-shirt with a large Snoopy pattern on the front. He leaned against the back of the chair like he had no bones. The neckline was quite wide, and due to his tilted head and reclined posture, the right side of the collar slipped down a bit, revealing his collarbone and a small part of his shoulder.

Although Jiang Heng often roamed outside, he had a skin type that didn’t tan easily. The skin hidden under his clothes appeared even paler in the sunlight. When he was in a normal posture, his collarbone would show a bit, but it wasn’t as pronounced as it was now.

Shen Huai Zhi quickly averted his gaze without saying a word.

The scent of Omega’s lemon-scented pheromone suppressant was very faint but noticeable.

After Jiang Heng finished speaking, he didn’t expect any response from Shen Huai Zhi. He closed his eyes and fell asleep in no time, snoring softly.

Jiang Heng hadn’t been asleep for long when the teacher in charge of their car came up to take attendance to ensure that everyone who should be there was present.

“Jiang Heng, is Jiang Heng not here?” The teacher repeated several times, prompting everyone to look in Jiang Heng’s direction.

After half a minute, Shen Huai Zhi took off his headphones and raised his hand, saying, “Teacher, he’s car sick and took some medicine.”

The teacher acknowledged this when he saw it was Shen Huai Zhi.

After the teacher finished the attendance check, Jiang Heng, who had been silent all along, blinked his eyelids and, with his eyes still closed, showed signs of fatigue as he spoke, “Class monitor, why are you lying?”

It was the first time he had seen Shen Huai Zhi lie, and his tone was the same as when he told the truth.

Jiang Heng clearly felt a moment of stiffness from Shen Huai Zhi but before he could continue, Shen Huai Zhi cut him off, saying, “If you’re tired, just sleep. It’s about an hour’s drive.”

Jiang Heng, without any hesitation, immediately replied, “I’ll listen to you. I’ll sleep.”

He was obedient and docile, after all.

Shen Huai Zhi: …

He put his headphones back on and heard Jiang Heng lazily say, “Class monitor, can I borrow your shoulder?”

“The chair is too uncomfortable for my delicate little Omega body.”

Saying that, he glanced at Shen Huai Zhi’s shoulder.

Shen Huai Zhi promptly turned on the phone’s sound.

Why was he worrying about this?

The journey to the scenic area was quite long, and they encountered quite a few traffic lights along the way. By the time they arrived, it was almost nine o’clock.

“When you get off, pay attention to order, make sure your phone remains on, and try not to go alone. First gather at the foot of the mountain according to your class when you get off.” The responsible teacher gave these instructions before they disembarked, using a megaphone.

Two alpha students sitting in the back with Jiang Heng had been sleeping the entire way. Startled by the teacher’s announcement, they quickly woke up and looked a bit dazed.

“Is this the head of Jiang Heng in the middle?” one of the alphas rubbed his eyes and revealed a small buzz cut that appeared below the headrest.

The other alpha, still yawning, said, “What’s wrong? Isn’t he sitting with the class monitor? They’re in front of us.”

“No,” the first person lowered his voice, fearing that the person in front might hear, “look at the part below the head, doesn’t it look like the class monitor’s shoulder?”

The other person said, “Well, it does kinda look like it.”

“Damn it… don’t, cover me, they’re not awake yet.”

“Hush, keep your voice down. Let me take a quick picture first.”

Just as he took out his phone and aimed it, in the camera lens, Shen Huai Zhi was looking at them expressionlessly.

The guy: …

Jiang Heng was awakened by the commotion.

Most of the people on the bus had already disembarked.

His neck hurt from sleeping, and when he was awakened, his brows and eyes were all flattened, making his expression not very pleasant.

Shen Huai Zhi held a bottle of water in his hand and looked at him.

Jiang Heng paused for two seconds and forcefully pushed away his morning grogginess.

Delicate little Omega would never have that terrifying thing called morning grogginess.

“Are we here?” Jiang Heng pinched his sore neck.

Shen Huai Zhi’s gaze followed his movements and he responded after a while, “We’ve arrived.”

Because it was Sunday, there were more people in the scenic area than usual.

The class teacher of Class Three held a megaphone and instructed the students of Class Three to line up.

Chen Xingchi covered his ears. “It’s like a kindergarten field trip.”

“Darn it, so embarrassing! Everyone is watching us. Why does the school have to take us mountain climbing?”

Jiang Heng and Shen Huai Zhi stood behind them, and Jiang Heng heard Chen Xingchi’s words and smiled, “Maybe they’re worried about your health?”

After a nap, he had recovered quite a bit.

Chen Xingchi: …

Chen Xingchi sniffed the air and said, “Why do I feel like there’s still a scent of the class monitor on you?”

Shen Huai Zhi raised an eyebrow and glanced at him.

Jiang Heng noticed Shen Huai Zhi’s gaze and chuckled, “Oh, maybe it’s because the class monitor gave me a bit of his pheromones to help me recover my energy.”

“After all, someone like me can’t climb a mountain.”

Chen Xingchi said, “…”

He automatically ignored the latter part of Jiang Heng’s sentence.

What did it mean that the class monitor gave him some pheromones?

Chen Xingchi glanced at Shen Huai Zhi secretly.

These two really had something going on.

The class teacher continued with his instructions, “After going up the mountain, try not to go alone, and your phones must remain on!”

“If your phone runs out of battery, you can go to the service station to borrow a power bank.”

This was also one of the revenue sources for the service station.

With the teacher’s reminder, Jiang Heng suddenly remembered that he hadn’t taken out his phone yet.

He searched his backpack, and his phone was fully charged. He had just turned it on when two missed calls appeared on the screen.

Jiang Heng glanced at Shen Huai Zhi.

“All right, line up according to your seats, Jiang Heng, don’t stand over there!” The class teacher’s words interrupted their conversation.

“Jiang Heng, how did you end up in the Alpha’s car?” When Jiang Heng returned to his supposed seat, Lu Zhuan quietly asked him.

Jiang Heng lowered his head and checked his WeChat messages. The surroundings were too noisy with several class teachers’ voices coming through the loudspeakers, so he didn’t hear what Lu Zhuan said clearly.

Lu Zhuan tugged at Jiang Heng’s backpack strap after half a minute. “Jiang Heng, can we climb the mountain together later?”

“What?” Jiang Heng took a step back without showing any signs, and only after sending a message did he look up.

Lu Zhuan repeated his words.

Jiang Heng simply responded with an “Oh” and didn’t pay much attention to it. After all, they could climb together with a few people.

“After we climb the mountain, try to take care of our classmates in our class. If anyone has any problems, contact me promptly,” the Class Three class teacher instructed Shen Huai Zhi.

After speaking, he furrowed his brow.

“Shen Huai Zhi?”

Shen Huai Zhi was momentarily stunned, then he regained his composure and put away his phone. He couldn’t help but curl his lips. “Okay, teacher.”
