OOCM chapter 7

Here He Comes Again

He Xingzhou’s shameless remarks deeply shocked Xiao Can, leaving him speechless for a while.

“This is meaningless,” He Xingzhou shook his head and turned to walk away, “I’m not interested.”

“Ha!” Xiao Can quickened his pace, circled halfway around, and forcibly blocked his path, “You’re not interested? So, was someone forcing you at the hotel that day?”

He Xingzhou stopped in his tracks, “What hotel?”

“On June 21st,” Xiao Can stared at him, “at the 14th floor of the Kales Hotel, what did you do?”

He Xingzhou paused for a moment and replied, “What’s it to you?”

Xiao Can was almost laughing out of anger. While thinking about how to respond, he heard He Xingzhou counter with, “Are you probing into my privacy?”

Xiao Can took a deep breath, thinking, “Back then, when you forcefully pinned me down in the hotel room and dug out my privacy from my pants, who was prying into whose privacy?”

“I won’t answer such questions,” He Xingzhou said. “If there’s nothing else, please move aside. I’m leaving.”

Without waiting for Xiao Can’s response, he turned and walked past him.

As he reached the door, he suddenly remembered something, turned back, and said, “Leave me your contact information.”

Xiao Can was in total chaos.

Every word and action of He Xingzhou left him unable to understand, unable to find a suitable point to mock even. He always felt that something was off.

Frowning, he took out his phone and added He Xingzhou as a friend.

“Oh, by the way,” He Xingzhou put away his phone and, as he walked away, casually asked, “You were filming a video when you arrived, right?”

Xiao Can nodded.

“You’re not going to continue filming?” He Xingzhou asked.

Xiao Can was startled.

Damn, I forgot!

Fortunately, Vlog post-production allows for editing.

Xiao Can stayed behind to film a few more segments before returning to the previous meeting room. Standing in front of the sofa, he opened the front camera on his phone and began speaking to himself.

“The partners haven’t arrived yet, feeling a bit nervous~ Hope to leave a good impression later!”

As soon as he finished speaking, the door to the inner room opened, and He Xingzhou came out carrying a bag.

Xiao Can watched him calmly appear on the left side of the screen and then disappear from the right side, feeling utterly speechless.

Thinking that He Xingzhou had probably heard his false remarks just now, Xiao Can didn’t hold back. He turned the camera towards He Xingzhou.

“My idol is here! He Xingzhou is cool even in private!”

He Xingzhou turned his head. “What’s wrong with you?”

“A unique way of greeting,” Xiao Can aimed the camera at him, “Very natural, makes it very easy to get along.”

He Xingzhou: “…”

“Thanks, He Xingzhou!” Xiao Can finished and promptly turned off the camera. He then sat down on the sofa, lowering his head to tidy up, showing no intention of speaking to He Xingzhou again.

He Xingzhou stood still for a moment and said, “Even in the entertainment industry, blatant two-facedness like yours is rare.”

“Are you going to expose me?” Xiao Can retorted, without any confidence, completely childish and unscrupulous.

Faced with He Xingzhou, he always easily lost control and acted out of line.

Fortunately, He Xingzhou didn’t intend to delve into it further. He shook his head speechlessly and walked away.

On the way back, to enrich the content of his Vlog, Xiao Can took a detour to eat at a trendy restaurant that was currently popular. While queuing, he was recognized by two girls and boldly took a photo with them.

Finally, when he got home, it was already evening.

Mu Nianwen was livestreaming in the room. With a belly full of complaints and nowhere to vent, he took a bath and lay on the bed, contemplating life.

After resting, he was about to get up and start working when he received a call from Tan Zhen

Tan Zhen asked him how his day went and if everything went smoothly.

Xiao Can certainly couldn’t complain to him, so he had to bear it and falsely express that everything went smoothly and pleasantly, then tentatively asked about He Xingzhou’s attitude.

“It should be fine,” Tan Zhen said. “We didn’t really talk about work.”

“Oh, I see,” Xiao Can pretended, “I’m afraid I’m not competent enough and might be holding him back.”

“Don’t worry too much,” Tan Zhen laughed. “Instead of that, you haven’t updated for a whole week. Have you been too busy recently?”/

“Um…” Xiao Can felt guilty and made up an excuse, “Indeed, things have been a bit busy. I’m editing as fast as I can.”

“Well, I won’t disturb you anymore,” Tan Zhen immediately said, “Let’s not talk about work. Keep it up!”

Xiao Can originally wanted to probe him for information, but he had no choice but to bid farewell.

After hanging up the phone, he got up and turned on his computer to start editing.

During this time, he did receive many work invitations, but he declined most of them. Although offers like live streaming for product endorsements tempted him with their high prices, after careful consideration, Xiao Can believed that he shouldn’t be overly fixated on monetizing his audience at this stage.

He still harbored ambitions and was not satisfied with being just an internet celebrity.

This seemingly distant dream now had some hope, but while seizing opportunities, he couldn’t afford to slack off on his current achievements.

After a busy afternoon, with his emotions fluctuating wildly, Xiao Can’s state was surprisingly good. The anxiety and irritability that had troubled him for some time were nowhere to be found. Feeling relaxed and clear-headed, he finished editing the entire Vlog in just over half an hour.

According to the requirements of Baitao, he covered He Xingzhou’s face in the Vlog and applied voice-changing effects.

When choosing the covering object, he once thought about using a poop emoji, but in the end, he kept his rationality and chose a cool little yellow face with sunglasses.

After finishing the editing, it was already 9:30 in the evening.

Xiao Can’s routine was to sleep during the day and be active at night. At this moment, he was wide awake and in good spirits. So, he took out the plan he had made before and started writing the script, comparing and editing it.

After numerous revisions, he finally finished. Checking the time, it was already one o’clock in the morning.

It had been a long time since he had been so focused and immersed. Xiao Can satisfactorily stretched and yawned. The phone beside him “beeped”, reminding him it was time to take his medicine.

Quietly comforting himself in his mind, Xiao Can acknowledged that although it was troublesome, these medicines were quite effective. At least there was a noticeable improvement in his physical discomfort.

After taking the medicine, he spent some time revising the plan again. By around three o’clock, he finally began to feel a bit tired.

Next door, Mu Nianwen had already finished his live stream, and the house was quiet. After a quick wash, Xiao Can got into bed to rest.

Despite feeling quite tired, his brain, which had just undergone intense thinking, couldn’t calm down temporarily.

Lying in bed, he let his thoughts wander. Accidentally, he remembered the recent encounter with He Xingzhou.

Although this Alpha was always eccentric, his behavior during their conversation today was particularly difficult to understand, unpredictable.

They had actually met more than once that day. Before Xiao Can mistakenly entered his room, they had also encountered each other at the elevator.

At that time, He Xingzhou completely ignored him, so it wasn’t surprising that he didn’t leave an impression afterward.

But what happened afterward, Xiao Can could still recall many details. He Xingzhou, on the other hand, seemed to have completely forgotten, which was probably due to a problem with his brain.

Xiao Can frowned in the dim light.

This Alpha always seemed to have something wrong with his brain.

He pulled the blanket tighter around himself, telling himself that thinking about these things was meaningless.

If He Xingzhou didn’t acknowledge it, then so be it. After all, he never had the intention of holding He Xingzhou accountable or seeking compensation from him.

Instead of wasting time on this, he might as well think about how to retaliate.

He slept relatively soundly that night. However, the next day at noon, when Xiao Can woke up and opened his eyes, his head felt even more groggy, and the discomfort was even stronger than it had been in the past few days.

After breakfast, he took his medicine, but soon afterward, he felt nauseous and almost vomited up everything he had eaten.

He lay on the bed for a while, feeling like a corpse, when someone knocked on the door.

Mu Nianwen came to ask when he would start filming and urged him to get ready quickly.

Most of Xiao Can’s videos were solo performances, but occasionally he collaborated with other well-known bloggers, among whom Mu Nianwen was his old partner.

They had planned to shoot a short drama together that day and had even hired a photographer specifically for it. They would be late if they delayed any further.

“What’s wrong? Not feeling well?” Mu Nianwen asked with concern.

“It’s nothing,” Xiao Can lazily reached out his hand. “Help me up.”

Mu Nianwen pulled him up from the bed and asked, “What time did you sleep last night?”

“I slept pretty well,” Xiao Can said. “Probably just too tired. It’s torture to be around He Xingzhou.”

Mu Nianwen was very interested. “What did he do this time?”

“He…” Xiao Can hesitated for a moment, not knowing where to start.

After all, Mu Nianwen didn’t know that the person who marked him was He Xingzhou. Aside from this, there didn’t seem to be any major issues with He Xingzhou’s work.

“Anyway, it’s exhausting. I can’t help but feel tense and uncomfortable when I see him,” Xiao Can said.

“You should hire an assistant,” Mu Nianwen suggested. “Being exhausted isn’t worth it. Having someone to help you will make things easier.”

Xiao Can agreed wholeheartedly.

Hiring an assistant was much easier than building a team. That night, Xiao Can updated the recruitment information on the job search website.

The next morning, when he woke up and checked, there were already people applying. Xiao Can opened one of the applications with anticipation, only to find that the gender section of the applicant boldly stated “Alpha”.

Xiao Can decisively clicked the default reply “Not suitable”.

The person was online and asked in a private message what was wrong with himself.

Xiao Can thought he had not read the recruitment requirements clearly and patiently explained that only Omegas were accepted for convenience.

Unexpectedly, the person didn’t give up and sent several messages in a row.

“Why wouldn’t it be convenient?” “I can take care of you more in daily life~” “I’m 186cm tall with abs.” “The avatar is me!”

Xiao Can didn’t reply and silently clicked to block.

Talking to a stupid Alpha was a waste of life.

For the next week, he opened the job search platform every day, but unfortunately, he never found a suitable assistant candidate.

Perhaps because of his physical discomfort, he felt restless, irritable, and became very picky.

The medicines prescribed by the doctor didn’t seem to work well; their effectiveness was very limited.

Fortunately, after a month, he finally made it to the day of his follow-up appointment.

The night before the follow-up appointment, Xiao Can was sitting in front of the computer patiently revising his manuscript when his phone suddenly vibrated.

He casually glanced over and was startled by the name displayed in the message notification.

He Xingzhou had sent him a message:

“Hello.”
