OOCM chapter 85

Living Together Invitation

The fish served on the table at last was a bit hard to describe in terms of taste.

“This fish isn’t good,” He Xingzhou asserted confidently, “Don’t buy it again.”

“Isn’t that the fault of the chef?” Xiao Can asked.

“Is the octopus delicious?” He Xingzhou asked.

Xiao Can picked up one and tasted it carefully, nodding, “Delicious.”

“Are the razor clams delicious?” He Xingzhou asked again.

Xiao Can nodded, having just tried them, “Not bad.”

“The chef is fine,” He Xingzhou said.

His overflowing self-confidence and somewhat shy demeanor looked oddly cute.

Suppressing a smile, Xiao Can said, “So, did I stump you after all?”

He Xingzhou pondered for a moment and replied, “Alright, you’re impressive.”

“Is that it? Shouldn’t there be some kind of punishment, or let me set some conditions?” Xiao Can said.

He Xingzhou had no objections, “You set them.”

Xiao Can thought for a while. Actually, what he most hoped He Xingzhou would agree to now was to change the title of that song and then release it as originally planned. But considering He Xingzhou’s personality, he probably wouldn’t agree, and might even make a fuss.

He was always domineering and unreasonable in front of He Xingzhou, but he never intended to make him unhappy.

Actually, most of the time, He Xingzhou was very indulgent towards him, and everything not involving principles was negotiable. But if it was something he was stubborn about, he wouldn’t easily give in. This so-called “condition” didn’t mean much for their way of getting along.

It might be better to just act spoiled.

Putting down his chopsticks, Xiao Can turned slightly, stretched out his arm, and said, “Then, a hug.”

“Huh?” He Xingzhou didn’t understand, “What?”

“Come here,” Xiao Can gestured, “Give me a hug.”

He Xingzhou, not understanding, hesitated for a moment before walking over to him. Xiao Can was still sitting in his seat, and he wrapped his arms around He Xingzhou’s waist, hugged him tightly, and rubbed against him.

“What are you doing?” He Xingzhou chuckled.

Xiao Can thought, I’m acting spoiled, can’t you tell?

“Childish,” He Xingzhou said, patting his head, “I’m not used to it.”

“Get used to it,” Xiao Can threatened in a soft tone, “If you can’t, I’ll replace you.”

He Xingzhou shifted, maybe nodding.

“Alright,” Xiao Can rubbed against him a couple more times, then let go of his arm, “You can go back now.”

“Is that it?” He Xingzhou lowered his head to look at him.

Xiao Can thought for a moment, then tilted his face up. He expected to have to remind him, but He Xingzhou seemed to understand. He bent down and kissed Xiao Can’s forehead.

“Okay, that’s it!” Xiao Can nodded in satisfaction.

But He Xingzhou didn’t leave, he just kept looking at him.

“What’s wrong?” Xiao Can asked, “Do you have any additional services? I don’t need any for now.”

“Do you want to stay?” He Xingzhou asked.

This sudden question caught Xiao Can off guard, “But I already said I’m not leaving.”

He recalled their conversation in the kitchen just now, where he pretended to be reserved and said he’d stay only if the fish was good. Did He Xingzhou think he actually wanted to leave because of his overly serious attitude?

“Although the fish isn’t great, everything else is delicious,” Xiao Can told him, “I’m generous enough to stay.”

He Xingzhou shook his head, “No, what I mean is… why don’t you move in?”

“Huh?”

“Tomorrow I’ll take you back, and then I’ll come back alone. Sitting here eating alone, I’ll surely remember being hugged by you in this place, but you won’t be here,” He Xingzhou said, “I’m already starting to feel lonely.”

“…You’re lovesick,” Xiao Can said.

“Yeah,” He Xingzhou didn’t deny it, “a bit.”

He leaned slightly closer and asked again in a consultative tone, “Will you move in? Charlie can keep you company every day, how about that?”

It sounded tempting, Xiao Can wanted to agree, but couldn’t easily nod.

Of course, he wanted to be with He Xingzhou all the time, but he still had to consider more practical factors.

Occasionally meeting in private like this wasn’t difficult to keep under wraps. But actually living together without being discovered for months or years would be strange.

His career had just taken off, everything was going well, and Xiao Can couldn’t be so carefree, unwilling to take risks.

He Xingzhou had already shown reluctance to the proposal of temporarily hiding their relationship. If Xiao Can honestly told him about his concerns now, he might feel resentful.

Love was so difficult, Xiao Can thought. It had only been a few hours, and he was already getting a headache amidst the happiness.

“Enduring longing is also part of love,” he made up nonsense to He Xingzhou, “Feelings need to be brewed, like wine, the longer it ages, the more fragrant it becomes.”

He Xingzhou remained silent, seeming to have some objections from his expression.

“I want to drink!” Xiao Can seized the opportunity to change the subject, “Go, get some wine!”

They didn’t drink during dinner, but after taking a shower, He Xingzhou brought wine glasses into the bedroom.

Seeing him holding two glasses, Xiao Can smiled, “Are you going to drink too?”

“I’ll accompany you,” He Xingzhou said.

“Then come closer,” Xiao Can gestured to the space beside him, “I need to check on you at any time to make sure you don’t drink too much.”

He Xingzhou had just sat down and started pouring the wine when Xiao Can reached out his hand.

He Xingzhou wanted to dodge, but after a glare, he obediently complied.

After fumbling for a while, Xiao Can frowned, “You can’t drink before I even have a sip.”

He Xingzhou was at a loss, about to speak, when Xiao Can exclaimed, “Oh my, you’re quick, it’s done already!”

“You can’t drink like this,” He Xingzhou said.

Xiao Can burst out laughing.

Before the wine even touched his lips, he seemed a little tipsy, becoming excited and wild.

“I might go crazy from drinking later,” he said to He Xingzhou.

“How crazy?” He Xingzhou handed him the wine glass.

He reached out, took a sip, and sighed contentedly, “Extremely crazy, the kind that’s really shameless.” He finished the rest of the glass in one go and then asked, “Want to see?”

“I’m curious,” He Xingzhou said.

Xiao Can put the empty glass on the table and pushed it towards him, “Pour some more.”

He Xingzhou complied willingly.

They clinked their glasses, He Xingzhou only took a small sip, while Xiao Can finished his.

“You’re not allowed to drink too much,” Xiao Can shook the empty glass to remind him.

“Can you stop thinking about that all the time?” He Xingzhou was a bit helpless.

Xiao Can laughed, his shoulders shaking.

He laughed while reaching out his hand to touch randomly, saying, “You seem anxious.”

“Not really,” He Xingzhou caught his wandering hand, “But if you keep doing this, I might be.”

“It’s good to be a little anxious. I like it when you’re anxious,” Xiao Can narrowed his eyes, retrieved his hand, and pointed at his own lips, “The switch is here.”

He Xingzhou leaned over, his lips almost touching Xiao Can’s, and asked, “What happens if I press it?”

“I’ll go crazy for you to see,” Xiao Can said.

Was surgery to remove the mark necessary?

Not even ten hours ago, Xiao Can had seriously considered this question and wondered if he should discuss it with He Xingzhou.

Now, this question had become completely redundant.

Every time they met, they would mark again.

Both the process and the result were delightful.

Xiao Can woke up in the middle of the night feeling hot, opening his eyes, he found himself wrapped tightly. There was warm skin pressed against him, making him sweat.

He kicked the blanket a few times, exposing half of his shoulder, finally feeling more comfortable.

He heard rustling sounds in his ear. He was hugged too tightly to turn over, so he guessed it was Charlie moving around on the bedside table.

He didn’t know when this little guy had come in, or if he had heard the nonsense he had said when he was shouting from pleasure earlier.

If, by chance, Charlie yelled outside the bedroom, Xiao Can would be ashamed to death.

He Xingzhou was sleeping soundly, his arm around him, not moving at all, breathing evenly.

Xiao Can soon fell into a daze again.

With his eyes closed, he thought haphazardly. If they could really continue like this, would they eventually live together? By then, would they have to sleep like this every night?

No, it’s too hot.

He thought, then shifted forward a bit, pressing closer to He Xingzhou.

The next day, when Xiao Can finally arrived home, it was already eight in the evening.

The two slept until noon, with Xiao Can saying he wanted to leave, but under He Xingzhou’s unwillingness, they ended up cuddling together again, finally leaving after dinner.

As Xiao Can opened the door to his apartment, he still felt the lingering sensation on his lips.

He speculated that he must be covered in He Xingzhou’s scent, and if he bumped into any Alpha, they would probably feel dizzy.

But fortunately, Mu Nianwen was also an Omega, so he wouldn’t be too sensitive to the Alpha scent lingering on another Omega’s body.

He carried two large bags, filled with various delicacies handcrafted by He Xingzhou.

When He Xingzhou packed them, he said he wanted to “please your roommate” because “one day I’ll steal you away.”

Xiao Can agreed wholeheartedly and felt it was necessary.

Although Mu Nianwen didn’t say anything, Xiao Can was sure he still had doubts about He Xingzhou. He hoped Mu Nianwen could see the reliable side of this strange Alpha, so he would worry less about him.

At this point, Mu Nianwen had already started his live broadcast.

Xiao Can put the things he brought back into the refrigerator one by one as He Xingzhou instructed, then tiptoed to the door of Mu Nianwen’s room. He wanted to surprise him, but he was afraid the timing wasn’t right, so he opened his phone and checked Mu Nianwen’s live stream.

He was shocked.

Mu Nianwen’s live broadcast screen was split into two halves, probably doing a fan PK.

On the left side of the screen, Mu Nianwen covered his face, looking shy and surprised, while on the right side, a male Alpha was dancing with his waist exposed.

The right camera didn’t show his face, but the muscles exposed were tight and powerful, and his movements were bold.

Xiao Can blushed.

The way he swayed back and forth was quite similar to what happened with He Xingzhou not long ago.

Thinking back to that atmosphere made him blush.

After dancing for a while, the Alpha on the right stepped back half a step, revealing half of his chin.

Xiao Can immediately recognized him. Wasn’t this Fei Zi.
