PTYS Chapter 132

The Deadly G City

Not only he but the other men also froze for a moment when they saw Shen Qingqiu. Shen Qingqiu was so strikingly beautiful that these grown men were momentarily mesmerized, forgetting the dire situation they were in.

Shen Qingqiu was used to such reactions, but that didn’t mean she enjoyed being blatantly ogled.

The zombies were mostly cleared, and the remaining few were taken care of. She had no interest in getting involved with these people.

She sheathed her dagger, ignored them, and began to examine the items on the shelves.

The man who initially questioned Shen Qingqiu snapped back to reality. He frowned, surveyed the surroundings, and although his eyes were glued to Shen Qingqiu, there was a hint of wariness in them. “Excuse me, miss, did you come here alone?”

Shen Qingqiu glanced at him, found a large bag for quilts on the shelf, and proceeded to open it. Then she began to fill the woven bag with items.

“Miss, we were here first. Isn’t it inappropriate for you to just start taking things? Weren’t those zombies drawn here by you?

Considering you’re a beauty, we didn’t hold it against you, but now you’re acting as if nothing happened and still want to take things. Do you think we’re dead?”

The man, annoyed at being ignored, walked over and blocked Shen Qingqiu, his eyes full of warning.

Shen Qingqiu’s expression remained unchanged. She chuckled lightly and asked, “Is this supermarket yours?”

She asked seriously, and the man’s expression froze. He frowned and said, “No, but…”

“Alright, if it isn’t, then shut up and don’t get in my way.” She gave them a cold look and turned to walk toward the fruit section. The man, embarrassed and furious, reached out to grab her shoulder.

They were less than half a meter apart, and he moved quickly, but his forceful grab missed.

Shen Qingqiu ducked to the side, seized his wrist with her right hand, twisted it forcefully, causing him to scream in pain, his face contorting.

A nearly six-foot-tall man was overpowered by this stunningly attractive woman with just one hand. It was humiliating for him. He gritted his teeth and swung his left fist at her.

Shen Qingqiu twisted his wrist again with force, causing a bone-chilling crack. The man couldn’t endure the pain any longer, and his left hand went limp.

Shen Qingqiu had no mercy for such people. She kicked his knee, making him kneel on the spot.

“Zhong!” A skinny young man shouted in shock.

This move was enough to snap the other men out of their daze, realizing that the beautiful woman in front of them was a rose with thorns.

Shen Qingqiu calmly suppressed the so-called Zhong, her gaze sweeping over him before landing slowly on the remaining five people. “So, can I take the items now?”

No one answered, so Shen Qingqiu, smiling, applied more pressure. Zhong couldn’t bear it anymore, pounding the ground and sweating profusely, repeatedly saying, “Yes, yes, take whatever you want.”

Shen Qingqiu let out a light snort, released him swiftly, stepped back, and casually brushed her right hand against her coat. She looked relaxed and indifferent, saying warmly, “See, isn’t it better like this? Why make me use force?”

The other four men, watching Shen Qingqiu through the gaps in the shelves, completely forgot that they were initially conflicted about her drawing the zombies to test this group.

Su Jin whispered, “Tiantian, I agree with you now. I really like the vice-captain’s ruthlessness. It’s so cool.”

Xiao Muyu’s eyes, originally warm with a slight smile, turned meaningful when they landed on Su Jin and Zuo Tiantian.

Su Jin met her gaze and, along with Zuo Tiantian, stuck out her tongue before whispering, “We just admire the vice-captain, not like you, Captain Xiao.”

Xiao Muyu didn’t respond and continued watching. Shen Qingqiu had asked them to stay back to avoid direct confrontation, as these were NPCs, not players.

Judging by Shen Qingqiu’s expression and the system’s response, this level of interaction shouldn’t count as harming NPCs.

Shen Qingqiu had no intention of entangling further with these people. They weren’t good people, and since they were just passersby in the game, it wasn’t worth wasting energy on them.

Just as she was about to leave, three girls approached cautiously. One of them nodded at Shen Qingqiu, intending to thank her, but before she could speak, her mouth opened in terror.

Xiao Muyu’s face also changed, and she stood up.

Shen Qingqiu didn’t even turn around. She casually tilted her head and stepped to the right. With a whoosh, a steel rod almost grazed her nose as it came crashing down.

The first swing missed, and another strike immediately followed, aiming at Shen Qingqiu’s back. The men had already picked up their weapons, ready to attack.

Shen Qingqiu grabbed the baton swung by Zhong and twisted her body, moving beneath it. The next swing aimed at her back was intercepted by the baton she held.

She then kicked hard, left and right, at the knees of the two men. Zhong, already injured, knelt more decisively this time. Shen Qingqiu didn’t give them a chance; she coldly delivered another kick to each of them, hitting them in the groin, causing them to wail in agony and collapse on the ground, twitching.

Seeing this, the remaining four men didn’t hesitate anymore and charged with watermelon knives.

It had only been two days since the apocalypse began. After experiencing a complete breakdown in communication, and with no help from anyone in G City, this group of like-minded individuals quickly shed the constraints of morality and law.

Faced with a woman who was stronger than them, they naturally chose to attack with knives after their ambush failed.

Xiao Muyu couldn’t stand idly by. She wasn’t worried when Shen Qingqiu faced zombies, but now, against humans, she felt concerned.

Since the conflict had already started, there was no need to hide. Xiao Muyu, along with Su Jin and the others, quickly approached.

Shen Qingqiu handled a horde of zombies with ease, ensuring none touched her. Four street-level thugs couldn’t even graze her clothes.

Shen Qingqiu didn’t use her dagger. As the four men wildly swung their weapons, she moved effortlessly among them, as if toying with them. When Xiao Muyu arrived, she lost interest in playing, grabbed a watermelon knife from one of the men, and twisted it away.

She flipped the blade and used the back of it to strike several times, disarming the three men. She then struck their shoulders and elbows with the flat of the blade, scaring them senseless, making them fall to the ground, wailing.

The three girls, who had never seen such a scene, stared at Shen Qingqiu in shock.

Especially the girl who wanted to thank Shen Qingqiu earlier, who now looked at her with eyes full of admiration.

Shen Qingqiu casually tossed the knife and smiled at Xiao Muyu. “Didn’t I tell you not to come over?”

Xiao Muyu glanced at the three girls, then walked over nonchalantly, stepping on Zhong’s hand.

The man groaned in pain, his face contorted. Xiao Muyu glanced down and kicked away the knife he had secretly grabbed. She said calmly, “You took too long. We should go.”

Shen Qingqiu had noticed it too. She retracted her smile and glanced at the men on the ground. “Don’t overestimate yourself. Move again, and I’ll dislocate your arms.”

The man called Zhong glared with a mix of hatred and fear. He had never encountered such a terrifying woman, akin to a character from a novel—exaggeratedly skilled.

“Let’s go. Pack up and move quickly,” Shen Qingqiu urged. Delays were dangerous.

As Xiao Muyu and the others were about to leave, the girl who had been staring at Shen Qingqiu summoned the courage to follow. “Can I go with you? I don’t know them. I met them last night while avoiding zombies. They said we had to follow their orders to survive, and we…”

As she spoke, her face turned pale with shame and hatred.

Being a woman, Xiao Muyu quickly picked up on the implied meaning and frowned.

The girl mistook Xiao Muyu’s frown for rejection and panicked. “I can gather supplies on my own. I won’t use your resources. Just let me come with you. I can’t handle the zombies alone. Now that I’ve spoken up, I have no way back. Please, help me.”

“If you knew speaking up would leave you without options, why risk it? What if we refuse?” Xiao Muyu asked calmly.

The girl’s eyes welled up with tears, but she held them back. “I didn’t sleep at all last night. Today, when they took us out, I wanted to run but was too scared. I hesitated for a long time. But seeing this lady being so strong, I decided to take a chance.

I don’t want to stay with those scum. If they can do this at the beginning of the apocalypse, who knows what they’ll do later.”

“I’m just asking for help, not to burden you. If you find me troublesome and don’t want to take me, just drop me off in a place with fewer zombies.”

She spoke with difficulty. Her fear and forced bravery moved Su Jin and Zuo Tiantian, but they knew bringing along an NPC wasn’t practical.

Xiao Muyu was silent for a moment, studying the girl, who looked in her twenties, bright and clean. Xiao Muyu felt she looked familiar, like someone she had seen before.

This feeling was strange because Xiao Muyu hadn’t seen many living people in the game.

She was lost in thought, staring at the girl. Shen Qingqiu found it odd and a bit disconcerting; Xiao Muyu had never looked at her so intently.

Shen Qingqiu cleared her throat, ready to refuse, but Xiao Muyu spoke first. “Alright, but we won’t bring you along. We’ll take you to a safe place where you can gather your own supplies.”

Shen Qingqiu swallowed her words. She didn’t dislike the girl, so she didn’t object since Xiao Muyu had agreed.

The girl looked back at the other two girls, hesitated, and then quietly asked, “If we don’t follow you, can we bring a few more people?”

She directed the question to Shen Qingqiu, who glanced at the others. “I don’t care, but sometimes you might overestimate yourself, and others might not appreciate it.”

With that, Shen Qingqiu walked over, picked up the discarded knife and baton, and handed the knife to the girl. The girl clumsily caught it, looking scared, but when Shen Qingqiu gave her a calm look, she gripped the knife tightly.

Xiao Muyu was in the fresh food section, finding some refrigerated steaks and shrimp, and picking a few.

But for long-term storage, they needed foods that were durable and filling. These weren’t ideal.

Shen Qingqiu walked over, puzzled. “Why are you picking these?”

Xiao Muyu glanced at her, then at the girl with the knife, and continued searching the freezer. “Since when are you so considerate?”

Shen Qingqiu was confused. “What?”

Xiao Muyu didn’t answer. Shen Qingqiu realized what Xiao Muyu meant and couldn’t help but smile.

She casually said, “Should we get some seasoning?”

Xiao Muyu frowned. “Are you here for a vacation or a picnic?”

Shen Qingqiu grinned. “I think adding some vinegar makes steak cook faster.”

Xiao Muyu paused and looked at her. “I prefer my steak medium-rare. Vinegar makes it tender, more suited for stewing beef. If you like vinegar, I’ll ask Chen Kaijie to buy more.”

Shen Qingqiu quickly shook her head. “I hate vinegar. You can’t make me eat it. Especially not those untrustworthy women; keep them away.”

“And that girl, if you hadn’t agreed, I was ready to refuse. I’m helping her because you agreed. You always have your reasons, so I’ll support you.”

Xiao Muyu turned away, not looking at her. She wasn’t actually jealous; she knew Shen Qingqiu well enough not to worry about her getting involved with others.

But emotionally, she didn’t like others getting too close to Shen Qingqiu or being attracted to her.

“Stay away from untrustworthy people? Then I should stay away from you.” Xiao Muyu packed up and grabbed a bottle of black pepper sauce, ready to leave.

Shen Qingqiu took it and carried it herself, disapproving. “It’s fine to be untrustworthy to your girlfriend. But Qi Hongyue, laughing all over the place, doesn’t look like a good person.”

Xiao Muyu almost laughed. “You weren’t my girlfriend at first either, right?”

Shen Qingqiu felt alarmed, frowning. What was Qi Hongyue planning?

The seven of them had been around the supermarket, gathering most of what they needed, and quickly exited through a side door.

The two girls, the one who spoke up first named Sun Xi and the other Liu Jia, were both grad students in biology at G University.

Hearing their major, Xiao Muyu felt something was off. They had just loaded their supplies into the car when the system’s voice suddenly announced.

“All players, all players, please note, a key target has appeared. Ensure the protection of your designated target. If they die, Hell Mode will activate!”

“What target?” Chen Kaijie was confused.

Author’s Note:

  • Low EQ: Both are bottoms.
  • High EQ: Equal strength in the relationship.

Don’t say my female lead is submissive. Isn’t Little Shen cool enough to make people swoon? Isn’t Little Xiao impressive enough?
